Overall a very nice hotel. Convenient location. Room was clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok (Limited options). Only really issue I had was the lighting in the rooms could’ve been brighter.

If you want to stay in a great little boutique hotel in downtown Hanoi, this will be the place for you. You will experience the active culture, Traffic, food and shops of downtown Hanoi. The marvellous is an excellent property. The only aspect we thought could’ve been better was what they offer for breakfast. They do offer both Vietnamese and western options, but they are relatively limited. If you were looking for a buffet style spread, you will not get that at the marvelous. Other than that, we would highly recommend this property.

Loved our stay

The staff were so lovely and happy to give recommendations. The rooms were nice and quiet, which is rare in Hanoi, but that did mean having no view, which we were more than happy with! The rooftop breakfast was tasty and varied.

This was an excellent hotel in the heart of the Old Town. The staff was excellent and very attentive to our needs.

Wonderful hotel in the Old Quarter

Staffs there are amazing in particular Grace, she has been super-helpful to us. Excellent service and great location.

I have never experienced such a wonderful welcome upon a hotel arrival. The staff saw us coming and immediately assisted with our luggage, sat us in the lobby, and brought us tea and warm towels to refresh ourselves while we checked in. Hotel was clean and in a very walkable location. Bed was comfortable. And a special shoutout to Leo for providing such amazing hospitality.

Outstanding. Leo, Daniel, Grace, William, Iris, Nancy were very helpful. Lucie and Rose made every breakfast a special event. Breakfast was delicious. Chefs do a great job.

Overall the hotel is clean, the staff are welcoming, and the breakfast is good. The one thing that really bothered us is the hotel is cheap and will bargain with you. For one of the nights, the hot water broke so at 9pm, someone came to try and fix it. After an hour, water was leaking from the bathroom and we had to go request a room change (none was offered). As compensation, Lan the manager offered half price airport transport which still ends up being more expensive than grab. it was inconvenient to us that we waited at night and had to ask for the room ourselves. She ended up bargaining back and forth w us for 5-10 min over a silly airport transfer. That left a poor taste in our mouth. Overall, there are likely better hotels at this price range and I would definitely skip this one.

Highly Recommend

The room was clean and spacious, and the customer service was top tier. Location in terms of walking distance from sights and restaurants in the Old Quarter was perfect.

The Hanoi Marvellous was an incredible stay. The staff at this hotel are extremely kind, hospitable and take time to make sure you are entirely comfortable. The spa services were also incredible and very convenient to book. The rooms are kept very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We will be back!

Marvellous by name marvellous by nature

Lovely friendly team who couldn’t do enough to help. Our shower water was cold and our room safe did not work, but we informed reception and they sent someone to check the shower and we had our safe fixed the next day so all good. Breakfast won’t leave you hungry. We arrived a day late due to delays so we didn’t have time to make use of spa.

This is one of the best hotels that we have stayed at! The staff were extremely attentive and made sure to take care of any question/issue we had. This hotel is very close to the main restaurants in Hanoi, making it easy to get anywhere. I also want to add the complimentary breakfast buffet is very delicious as well! Thank you Lan and team! 😄

From the moment we walked into the hotel Lee at the front desk welcomed us into the property and the city. Took his time to explain the area and restaurants in the old quarter. The next morning, Lan at the concierge was caring and extremely thoughtful. We booked Ho Long Bay because of her and we really enjoyed the day trip. Thanks to the whole team in making my first trip to Vietnam memorable.

Check in was done by Grace and she was amazing with a quick check in and taking the time to provide all the details you would need she enquired about our return flight and offered a way to freshen up before our departure as it was a few hours after we had to check out. Room is nice, staff are amazing, breakfast is good. Location is central to everything you look for.

Absolutely wonderful. Lan, Grace and the girls and guys are super nice people. They are family. Breakfast is very good. Nice selection of food. We went on a two night cruise to Halong Bay that they organized for us and when we came back our room was decorated with a welcome home sign and petals in a heart shape on the bed. They go above and beyond and we are so grateful. Location is good. Rooms are large. AC, fridge, walk in shower are great. Highly recommend. Coming back to stay and will try the spa treatments.

Absolutely had a wonderful stay here. This place luckily had available rooms after a bad experience with another “4 star” hotel. Staff was extremely welcoming and kind. They were helpful in every way possible. Rooms were well adorned, spacious, with some good amenities. The breakfast buffet was one of my favorites during our trek through Vietnam. Small, but plenty of options. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

We highly recommend

We stayed in the Marvellous suite with balcony. The room was more of a junior suite than a suite (one room with nice sitting area vs two separate rooms), and the “balcony” turned out to be a lovely private terrace. We will definitely book again. The breakfast dining room is pretty, like a small restaurant. We enjoyed the included breakfast. Hotel Marvellous doesn’t offer an enormous spread, but you get everything you need like fresh cut fruit, eggs and crepes to order, western options, and Vietnamese foods like pho and dumplings. The front desk was very helpful. Andrew explained Hanoi’s district one when we arrived - how to get around, what to visit, night market hours, and where to buy great coffee (like right across the street). I am so going to miss delicious afternoon Vietnamese coffee when I return home! The front desk also helped us book our transport to Halong Bay as we were having trouble reaching our cruise company. Cons: the air conditioning is comfortable enough but doesn’t get cold if that’s your preference. One small improvement Hotel Marvellous might consider is to move away from little plastic shampoos to refillable pumps. Great staff, nice lobby and room, and reasonable price. Hotel Marvellous is an oasis to return to after battling the noise and bustle of Hanoi. We highly recommend.

The Best Stay in Hanoi Old Quarter!

I had the pleasure of staying at Marvellous Hotel and Spa in Hanoi Old Quarter, and it was an exceptional experience. The staff's genuine care was evident from the start—they offered fantastic recommendations for dining and activities, held our bags upon early arrival, and even ensured our transportation arrangements were in order. Upon returning from a trip, we were greeted with rose petals on our bed and a "Home Sweet Home" sign—a truly touching gesture. Overall, Marvellous Hotel exceeded all expectations with its exceptional staff, impeccable service, and unforgettable personal touches. It's the perfect choice for a marvellous stay in Hanoi. Highly recommended!

Staff was very helpful. Great restaurant recommendations - Especially Bat Dan Pho; Nice rooms and spacious balcony on the Balcony Room. Breakfast was good with custom Eggs and Pho options.

After a long international flight I arrived at the hotel well before the check in time. When I requested an early check in they promptly had a room ready for me. This level of assistance and attention would be an initial indication of the fine service this hotel offers it's guests. I would like to specifically offer recognition to the reception staff, the restaurant staff as well as housekeeping staff. Across the board this hotel offered exemplary service and conveyed a genuine interest in helping guests have a really memorable stay in the Old Quarter. One of my very best experiences at a hotel. Would whole heartedly recommend this property !!

The staff is incredibly friendly and professional- they helped us with suggestions for food, arranging transportation, local customs etc. The room was very spacious and comfy. Highly recommend and would love to go back!

We had a marvelous experience at the Marvellous hotel restaurant and spa. Everyone was so nice and we highly recommend this hotel which lives up to it's name. The room was large, clean and comfortable, the included breakfast was a combination of a delicious and interesting buffet and made to order dishes, including an amazing vegetarian pho. We also highly recommend the spa, where we had the hot stone massage, the foot spa and facial treatments. All were absolutely marvelous! We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Hanoi! Highly recommend!

The staff were most helpful and attentive even though we stayed for only one night before heading back home. Need help to get some flowers and they directed us to the relevant spots and we got what that we wanted easily after a short walk. The room was very well appointed and fairly large ( family suite with city view) . Breakfast was good and fresh. Thanks to Daniel for the insight on the Vietnamese language and it’s uniqueness.

Friendly, centrally located, enjoyable breakfast

The first thing that needs mentioning is that the counter staff at Hanoi Marvellous were friendly, always smiling and helpful. They helped me book a transfer to the airport for my family of six and gave good advice on how long it would take to get to the airport, typical traffic situations to watch out for, etc. The two family suites with city view we booked were sufficiently spacious for accommodation around the squeezy Old Quarter area. These rooms were at the front end of the building, thereby offering a large clear glass (double curtained) view of the city below. Best to keep windows close if you don't like the ambient hooting noise characteristic of this part of Hanoi. We enjoyed the breakfast provided at the Marvel Restaurant on the 6th floor. The food options were just nice and of high quality. Not too many varieties of the same food type, so one is not tempted to over eat and also less food wastage. Hotel is also conveniently located, which makes it easy for us to walk out to the good restaurants nearby, gift shops (if you like hand painted pottery, try visiting Tava Handicraft at Hoan Manh Street nearby) and the Vietnam Military History Museum, which we visited on 22 Dec. There were many school children there as it was also the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army. It is an interesting nearby place to visit to get a Vietnamese perspective of the struggles the people endured through the many centuries of war and fight for their independence. Fabulous staff and service

A very nice hotel in a great location with the most wonderful staff. Easily recommend and will stay there again on my next trip to Hanoi.

The rooms are cute and exactly as shown online. Despite the busy (and noisy) streets, the rooms were quiet. The service was amazing and the staff was informative and helpful. The location is within walking distance of many fantastic restaurants and tourist sites.

Excellent location that is close to everything. Lots of eateries and coffee shops nearby and most attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast is fantastic and we love all the items so much. Staff are super friendly and helpful. We have a wonderful experience staying here and probably will stay again in the future.

it was a very good experience in this beautiful hotel in the heard of Hanoi. very calm and pleasant. we slept very well. it was a very good bed (all clean and of good quality). the staff is very helpful and extremely friendly! I would really like to stay at the marvelous again.

Me & my wife had a great stay. Hotel staff is very nice and sweet. Very helpful and supportive. They helped in planning our day trip to Ninh Binh and it was wonderful. Breakfast is very nice too and since we were vegetarians they took care of it and ensured we get good sufficient options at the buffet. I must admit I was really impressed with their service. Probably the best I have experienced. Location is great too. I definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who is planing to visit Hanoi

Exceptional Hotel

This hotel is centrally located in and convenient for all the sites and sounds in the city. The staff are outstanding, and I mean outstanding from the minute you walk in the door until the moment you are leaving and wishing you were staying longer. Exceptional value for money and the best hotel so far on our trip, excellent, we’ll done Hotel Marvellous, we cant wait to come back again.

Lovely Hotel - Warm Hospitality!

Highly recommend! This is a lovely hotel - decorated so thoughtfully for Christmas. Great location - walking distance to many sights. The room with the patio area is large and comfortable, with an amazing view of Hanoi. We were so impressed by the attentive staff, who provided such a warm welcome. Special efforts were made to make this a memorable stay - chocolates and an individualized card. Breakfasts were delicious and the restaurant in the sister hotel nearby is amazing - try the grilled fish!

Nice boutique hotel at the centre of old quarter, the traffic is crazy but my room was so quiet! It's nice and clean and with very good breakfast buffet, staff are all super nice and friendly. I got a free cooking class at the restaurant for Vietnamese cuisine and it was awesome! Will totally stay there again next time in Hanoi. Walking distance to the lake and many nice local restaurants nearby. Got a few massage places nearby too!

Excellent service

It was a warm stay in the hotel. Very convenient location. Train Street, the mural, the Old Quarter, the Lake, St Joseph Cathedral are all within walking distance. Very caring service we have received from Tom, Lizzie and My. They are trustful and sincere, superb!

We had wonderful experience staying at Marvellous. Hotel staffs were all very caring and kind. Location is perfect. It is in the old quarter but away from noisy part of the town. We had a family suite with 1 king + 1 twin bed. Very roomy. The laundry service was extremely convenient. Hotel staff picked up our clothes before 5pm and they were returned clean and neatly folded next morning. One morning our tour guide mistakenly came to pick us up at 7am instead of arranged 7:30am pick-up time. The hotel staff thoughtfully packed breakfast for us to-go on the trip. We are really happy staying with Marvellous and will sure choose Marvellous again if we return in the future.

The Marvelous hotel was perfect. The staff was the friendliest I’ve ever experienced at any hotel (no joke)! They were incredibly helpful in helping me get to the airport (with a private pick up). They gave me a discount on a great foot massage at their spa. The breakfast was great. And they helped arrange a tour for me to Hanoi. It’s also very safe and perfect for solo travelers!

Great hotel, mind rooms with no window

It was overall very good. But it would have been nice to know in advance that our room had no window.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The staff is the friendliest group of people.

The staff friendliness and good hotel location.

This Hotel is marvelous, Tom will look after you, great breakfast, quiet, and has a sister hotel across the road called the Marvel which has a rooftop restaurant which my wife and I frequented twice for dinner. They also ordered us a bus to Cat Ba island and back for $34us

The staff was amazing! Everyone was warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The staff accompanied us to the train station on our way to Sa Pa so that we wouldn’t get lost, and guided us all the way to our train cabin. Tom at the front desk was incredibly helpful in giving us great food recommendations and explaining the map of the Old Quarter. Our stay was a 5-star experience.

Slept like a baby

Phenomenal service. They were so accommodating. The room was great. Air conditioning worked really well. The shower had great water pressure and hot water. We slept like babies.

Fantastic welcome to Hanoi and Vietnam

We stayed here at the start of our trip to Vietnam, the staff could not have been any more welcoming or helpful from start to finish. Martin really helped us find our bearings in the city The hotel itself was lovely, very comfortable rooms with good amenities and facilities. The breakfast was great and offered vietnamese as well as more Western food Staff always on hand to help with recommendations or arranging taxi services, thank you!

Stay here for the real Hanoi feel

We stayed at Hanoi Marvellous Hotel for 3 days and the service was amazing, Very personal touch with check-in. Staff were very helpful in guiding and suggestions for Hanoi. Felt like family, when leaving the hotel getting into a taxi staff would come out and help us into the taxi. Great location and love seeing the day to day life of local people. Felt very safe and friendly locals. If I have to come back to Hanoi I would choose this hotel without a doubt.

Second time I checked into this property this week as we took a 1 night trip in Halong Bay. The staff makes the transition easy and they care very much for the details. Without asking, the suitcases we stored at the hotel was waiting for us in the room. They took their time to receive us after a long trip back from Halong and made us as comfortable as possible. Similar to my previous review, the hotel and everything about the hotel was great. We took a red-eye flight out on the last day and the hotel was able to provide us shower before heading to the airport. I forgot to mention last time, the breakfast choice was limited but suited our needs. Restaurant staffs were equally friendly. Overall, I am very happy with the hotel and staffs!

Centrally locate in the old quarter. Everything is around the corner or within 10 minutes walk. Marvellous is a very cozy hotel with extremely friendly and caring staffs. Everyone would take their time to help the guests and make our stay very comfortable. They also have good personalized services that make you feel very welcome. We took a one night trip in between to visit Halong Bay and the staffs arranged our exit and return smoothly. Tried the foot massage in the Spa and the atmosphere and staffs are also amazing. Overall great experience and highly recommend to anyone visiting Hanoi.

I loved this place... The ONLY things Ii could find wrong were the fact that they had the worst coffee ever (in the breakfast room) and they would turn off our a/c every time we left the room. Coming home to a hot room was not fun after a hot steamy day. Two very small issues with a otherwise perfect place. One of the best values I have ever found!

Great location and I cannot say enough about the staff. Super friendly and helpful. I delt they went out of thier way to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The hotel has a boutique spa and restaurant and our stay included a cooking class for 1 as weell as other incentives dor their in house amenities. No nees to pay high prices when this place has the same offerings if not more. Thank you for making us feel at home.

Don’t miss out — stay at marvellous!

The hotel room was nice, clean and fully stocked. There was even a nice gift on the bed when we entered. The staff was incredibly attentive, and even made us coffees when we were waiting in the lobby for an excursion organiser to pick us up. The breakfast was divine. Such a good spread and so delicious!! Also, some of the best filter coffee I’ve ever had. Location-wise, the hotel is in the center of it. All the old quarter sights are within a short walk. Finally, the airport shuttle was extremely convenient.

I can honestly say I have never stayed at a hotel that has been so accommodating the staff are seriously next level ! So helpful and friendly and also special mention to the doormen also who are so attentive and smile every day :) I will be coming back next time I am in Hanoi and will reccomend to all my friends back at home in Australia !

Strategic location, easy accessibility to many attractions. Hotel is located within Old Quarter, making it eligible for hotel pickup to places like Bai Dinh & Halong Bay. A perfect choice if you are coming to Hanoi
