My all time favorite hotel in Hanoi

I stay here whenever i am in Hanoi. Its perfect for my needs. Its well kept and the host always helps me make travel arrangements even when i am in other parts of Vietnam. Also i was able to store my luggage here. The rooms are clean and very spacious

This is a little gem of a hotel and in such a picturesque part of Hanoi near the cathedral and off a very charming street with lots of cute restaurants and shops as well as historic buildings and beautiful trees. Nearby is a convenience store and its easy to catch the bus from here to other parts of Vietnam as well as easy walking to the lake and all the amazing sights of Hanoi old quarter. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well maintained and the host was so extremely helpful to me. I was really happy i found this place and i already booked it for my return trip into the city

Good price good location

Location is perfect! staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel is kinda old though, no phone in the room so if u need something, you have to go down the reception’s area to request for it. Overall, its not a bad place to stay.

First impressions didn't last.

Excellent location in the old quarter, easy walking distance to most places. At first glance, the room looked fine. However the TV, hairdryer and room safe didn't work. Despite reporting this to reception, nothing was done about it. The lid was also broken off the kettle. The lovely wooden tissue dispenser had no tissues and the fridge was set to max meaning the bottles of water and cans of beer provided (for use at a cost) were all frozen solid. The bed was made and the towels changed daily however the level of cleanliness left something to be desired. The sink area clearly wasn't cleaned, the run off marks from my toothbrush were there all week and a quick peek behind the bathroom curtain revealed that area hadn't been cleaned in years. The floor wasn't clean either, my grey socks soon had black soles. It's a shame because these are issues that could easily be fixed.

Ideal location for walking around

Fantastic location!

Sure the room needed a little tlc but the excellent location and service more than make up for that! In fact there’s so much to see and do in the area that you’ll barely be in your room. Highly recommend!

Good stay.

I cannot emphasize enough, DO NOT STAY HERE. This is the worst hotel service I have had in my life. There were bugs in the beds and the bathroom yet the staff did nothing about it. They did not give me a refund and were particularly rude when I brought up the issue. I would stay anywhere else. It’s disgusting and the service makes you want to never come back immediately. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE

I stayed here for 5 nights because I had no choice and all hotels were booked til December. The location is great to many restaurants and shopping. The wify was terrible and cleaning not good either. I dealt with it cause I had no choice, then again it was ok cause I will leave at 7:00 and get home just to sleep. Would I stay here again is a big NO!!!

It's a nice hotel located in a street in the old quarter with lots of dining options. The staff is friendly and very helpful with tour and restaurant bookings.

The staff was very helpful and kind. The hotel was centralized in the Old Quarter and walking distance to the lake and surrounding shopping areas and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The staff were all so lovely and very accommodating. They stored my luggage for hours and said it was no problem at all. The only thing I think they could improve on is the bedding, which was cleanish but could be nicer. Everything else was great

First of all, not greeting at all when check in, no smiling, seemed they were busy with other things. The property described a roof top and city view, however there’s no roof top, top floor is for residential area, not city view either. All of sudden, hot water didn’t work at all, when we came back from touring with lots of sweat, due to humid weather, minibar fridge wasn’t working either, I wsa expecting literally cold drinks when I arrived the hotel from whole day tour. The building is quite old, most of them are EOL. I’ve never seen that room door operates by old school key, not a card. And the hotel provides only 2 bath towels only, not any other towels, no housekeeping service, no cleaning the room, they just swapped the 2 bath towels only. Also, the hotel describes soundproof building, however, not at all, I could hear everything even from next door. I would not recommend this hotel.

Central inner CBD location which is convenient

The staff was very friendly and genuinely cared for our expierence.

Walkable and convenient. Room was not clean especially the bathroom. There were stains all over the bathroom. The shower had a tape over it to keep the wiring intact. Upon our second day we were asked where we were going and we were asked to change room as to give allowance to a new customer who had just booked the room although we had also paid for a triple room! Absolutely rediculous!

Nice and welcoming receptionist who helped us to reserve an early taxis to the airport @ 4am. The room is clean, spacious and functioning. Double Queen beds fits our family of 4 comfortably. Thank you and highly recommended.

It is clean but old such as old towels, toilet. The staff is friendly, service is ok. Close to the lake and good restaurant.

I didn’t like that they provided drinks in the fridge but you had to pay for it

property was not what was listed on the ad. when i arrived they told me that i will be staying at their 'second' hotel and had to get a ride there. upon arrival, the room had a faulty ac and mold on the bottom of the beds.

This has been the worst stay ever. First, we I didn’t get what we booked for. There were no room left in the hotel when we checked in. Had to go to a different one which was really bad. Small, dirty and no amenities. We stayed one night and had to change back to the original hotel which was not great at all. We didn’t get the room we were supposed to. No view and poor conditions of the room and building. This made the stay really unenjoyable. The staff manager the next day couldn’t understand why this happened. She was sorry and ended up paying for our taxi ride to the airport. Good gesture, but doesn’t change the fact that we were really uncomfortable and very much inconvenienced by the experience. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Great location with very helpful staff

We actually stayed at the Capital Hotel, a sister property across the street. The room was a spacious, modern, nice shower and had a balcony which was great to spend time on to relax. Staff were amazing, friendly, sincere and gracious. The breakfast included was very good. I would come back for sure.

The picture on the website doesn’t even look the same, hot water wasn’t working, tv wasn’t working, very noisy hotel, also we have to ask for bath towels for the room, I would not book here again,

Extremely happy with the room and service

Very comfortable room, friendly and convenient, centralised of everything with a walking distance in the old quarter and the city. I will come back and stay here again in the near future

the first night of our stay they didn’t have a room in their hotel so they took us across the street to stay and then we returned to the Inner Hotel for the remainder of our stay. but both hotels were nice. the inner hotels staff was super friendly and very helpful with recommendations of where to go and eat. the room was comfortable with AC and free wifi. the beds were soft but they only provide a top sheet to cover with. but the hot water and water pressure in the shower was good. the hotel was in a very central location and easy to walk to many places. you must try MAMA bahn mi right around the corner for the best bahn mi!!

A big disappointment-it’s only an acceptable one

The place is surely not the worst we have been through in Vietnam but an over all of 9.2/10 from the reviews makes my stay here a disappointment. The room is okay-ly in order but the bathroom was a horror: the shower’s wall was full of mold - black mold. I felt disgusted in it. I asked the front desk to have it cleaned up asap but they couldn’t because the cleaning person is only in during the day and I was out the whole day while they had only 1 key to the room which was on me. I decided to clean the shower myself at my return given that I could not ask for the refund and I could not change hotel or clean myself in such filth. Apart from the fact that their soap and shampoo didn’t clean, the front desk failed to provide me with a functioning shampoo dispenser even if I told them first thing when we received the room.

FANTASTIC room, location, value, staff. Food, spas, Cathedral, craft beer brewery, Lake Hoan Kiem right there. SUPERB professional & personable staff: Lucy, Daisy, Tony flawlessly managed my transports, room, activities, laundry, rentals, recommendations, etc. Special thanks to Tony for all his Guiding and Teaching: he perfectly arranged my side-trips, provided sound Vietnam history & advice, and even took me on all-morning walking trip on his time off. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very good location close to old quarter. First room was full of mosquitos. A receptionist sold me the tours a good price but she didn't sent me the itinerary in advance and I couldn't organize my clothes for 2 days trekking, but anyways, I had and amazing trip in Sa Pa. What I really concerned was they moved all my luggages the day I wasn't there, I extended the day before my Check out, and they trow away an important receipt of my flights. Fortunately I could recovered, but it's feel weird someone took all your personal stuff.

The hotel was right near the cathedral and really central so it was in the perfect area. The workers there were soo kind and helpful, helping us and giving us what we needed whenever we needed. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone going to Hanoi :)

Pretty very old

Fabulous location, close to the lake, restaurants, and markets. Very friendly and helpful staff who took good care of me. Easily met my 3 main criteria, clean, safe, and quiet.

I was shocked to know that the hotel only changed hands 7days before our checked in. The manager was very apologetic of the condition of the room. She is right, truly needs update. But her keen disposition makes a lot of difference and we still got our rest in the room. She is conversant in English, and even helped us with the best rate for the taxi ride to airport. Wish you the best.

There are many, many properties in this area of Hanoi, old town, that are walkable to lots of locations. This property is no exception - very walkable and excellent access to sites, etc. Our room was listed as a city view but was not. To be clear, the only possible city view from this hotel is from the front. It is wedged between other properties and the view from the back windows is disastrous. There is no breakfast served at this property - you need to walk to the hotel two doors down, and the breakfast options are not as good as we had in two other hotels in the same area during our vacation. Also, little things, like a bar of soap and hand towels were not in the room. Our toilet leaked and the door lock hardware was falling apart - it seemed like when brought to the staff's attention they didn't understand what we were saying.

We had the honeymoon suite and it was ok, expected a little bit better. But can’t say I didn’t enjoy my stay here. Very close to an incredible pho restaurant.

Was in a relatively quiet street for the area near to a few cafes and eateries. Staff were excellent. Only a short walk to the main areas of old town but far enough to be a more relaxed vibe

Convenient & a place for local hang out.

First night, the staff asked us to stay in another hotel which is 2 building next because the problem of the air cond. the hotel we stayed was quite bad, noisy, and buggy. On the second night, We stayed in Splendid, it was a lot better, cleaner, more peaceful and newer room. No fridge in the room.

Convenient location, safe, walking distance to main attractions. Room was big with 2 king size beds and a sofa. That can accommodate up to 5/6 persons. Lots of good restaurants around. Good free breakfast, room was cleaned daily. Staffs was helpful,

Very disappointed

I’m very surprised with this hotel review , lacation not the best , but short f staff, breakfast horrible , last of choice , no bread , one cook getting everything wrong , Only 1 staff at the reception who does everything. I’m vêry disappointed.

Nothing unique about this dated, unsupervised, poorly run property. Everything is either broken or run down.

location of the hotel is good, easy access to most part of the town. the neigbourhood is quiet and safe and very easy to get your daily supplies. the toilet inlet and the water pressure may need some maintenance. overall, I have a pleasant stay. thank you.

We stay in honeymoon Suite but it does not provide what it indicated in the package. No pc no fruits n 2 package of black coffee without sugar. 1set of towel daily.. breakfast are horrible. If u hv early tour better pack your own breakfast cos they only start to prepare @7am. Location ok.

Staff were very friendly. Hotel is in the heart of old Hanoi but is located on a quieter street so you dont get much street noise. Made to order breakfast was delicious.

Great little property in superb location

We stayed as a family of 6 for two nights between Christmas and New Year (in 2 family rooms). The location right behind is unbeatable - within walking distance of most of the old city sights. The rooms aren’t large but well equipped and laid out for the size. The breakfast buffet is not large but more than sufficient. WhT made this hotel stand out is the staff. Always positive and always helpful. If I happen to be back in Hanoi I would not mind staying here again.

Central location, big rooms

Location was central, room was big with basic necessities. Breakfast was not bad, just that there was drilling on the walls at 7am in the morning, which spoils the entire day. Otherwise, room and service was good.

Nice and clean room, central location, friendly staff, good breakfast. The car to the airport was cheaper than Grab. They surprised us with a pack of vietnamese coffee as farewell gift.

It was a great place to stay nice and clean. It was near everything in downtown hanoi. We walked everywhere and hotel staff was great.

Friendly staff.

The staff was very nice and the hotel was in a nicer area, less noises. Waking distance to Pho 10 which had the best pho in town. Hotel was decent. Our water was shut down before early morning before check out time due to construction and we weren’t notified of.

The shower drain didn't work and the hotel didn't do anything to resolve it. Very basic room with not much to offer. I wouldn't recommend it for the price. The alley is not very safe at night to walk to the hotel. The staff actually locks the door from inside.

It was the worst hotel stay of my life - heavy machinery was being used in the room above - we only checked in at 11PM and it was in full swing - constant calls to the reception yielded only cursory replies of ‘it will stop soon’ - in the end we left at 3.30 am , upset , bleary eyed and angry ! How do we get our money back?!

Great place to stay in on a budget

Stayed one night in a room for four. Definitely not as fancy as the pricier options, but you get what you pay for and more. Location is excellent too, walking distance to lots of things in Old Quarter. Rooms are modern, clean and spacious enough. The aircon was very slow to cool the room down and there were initial problems with it. They managed to get it to work after a while, and the exceedingly polite and friendly staff more than made up for this slight issue. In fact, they felt so bad about it that they gave us 50% off our taxi to the airport the next day. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a decent, affordable place to stay in Hanoi.

Amazing stay, one of the best hotel we stayed at in Hanoi. Location is ideal for food and close to Hoan Kiem Lake, St. Joseph Cathedral (2min walk), and weekend street market. Room is cozy and roomy with comfortable amenities. Will definitely stay again.

Not so splendid.

For $18 USD, we didn’t expect too much but thought the 4.7 rating would at least give us a comfortable stay. The room was clean and quiet save for the moldy wallpaper. The elevator was broken and they put us on the top floor. Which was fine except for the two used mattresses stashed in the stairwell that you had to squeeze by to get upstairs. Again not that big of a deal until we came back from a morning walk to our lobby being completely anhiltates w jackhammers, tile everywhere and a stunned staff that didn’t seem to know a full lobby remodel was happening. Awkward inconvenient and random and made hailing our bags and checking out stressful and annoying. Not even worth the $18. Pay $10 more for a lovely stay anywhere else.

Excellent Service

This is a typical small hotel located at the old quarter. What make it different from other hotels is their top notch service. During my stay, Jun was excellent in rendering all the helps. The breakfast ordered from the menu was good and tasty. The wifi signal is strong. The location is excellent as it is near the St Joseph Cathedral.
