Excellent hotel!

We loved our time at the Bonsella! The service was very personal and overall excellent! Everyone was so helpful for us. The location is perfect and close to everything. We just walked all over the beautiful city of Hanoi. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. Very happy with our stay!

Good hotel but noisy

The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring Hanoi’s old and French quarter. Lots of restaurants and shopping around the hotel too. My room is newly renovated and has a city view. However do bring your earbuds plugs because the soundproofing of the room is not the best. You will hear the traffic, construction and dragging of chairs. The roof is under construction so avoid the highest 3 floors if you want a peace sleep. ** The hotel kindly offered me free transportation to the airport after learning about the construction noise last night. Excellent customer recovery. I will definitely consider staying with them again.

Amazing staff! Super friendly and hospitable with good knowledge of the area. Location is great, the AC works really well, complimentary breakfast is really great and it’s surprisingly quiet. Definitely recommended.

Great hotel with great location right by the lake, rooms were good and overall a good stay. Only downside is that the staff were very nosy and not the nicest with the couple guests I brought to the hotel for a drink.

Good service Good location

Amazing location in the Old Quarter and extremely near to the Hoan Kiem Lake. There's a bar, local coffee shop, local eateries and a famous pizzeria all within a few steps from the hotel. The room itself is decent and breakfast is just okay. They close their entrance at midnight though, so be prepared with a SIM card so you can call them up to open the door if you were to arrive back later than that.

The front desk staff is very friendly. Mia ( sorry if wrongly called). Suggest staff should wear a name tag. Mia was helpful and always have happy and smiling face. Recommend to stay in this hotel again. By the way, m house breakfast was wonderful, Vietnamese style as well as western - porch eggs, hot dogs, bacons. All cooked very delicious and yummy. Vietnamese coffee, cereals also served. Well done . Had a wonder stayed in Bonsella.

The staff was amazing! The breakfast was the best we had while visiting Vietnam (we traveled from north to the southern most tip) . It was on the top floor and we sat out on the balcony looking over the other buildings and lake. Quite lovely! The rooms were nice and had air conditioning. It was located in walking distance to most things. Great shopping. We also did an amazing tour/bike/boat of Nin Bin - we were taken on the river to see the amazing lime Stone Mountain formations and then biked all over and had lunch- it was a super fun event! (Instead of doing a boat trip of Halong Bay which I hear is very over crowed and polluted) - just a thought for those that don’t want to spend a lot time.

Great Service, staff and location. Close to all attractions and a block from Lake. Great local restaurant right next door. Road around Lake closes on the weekend which is an added bonus.

We loved our stay at the Hanoi Bonsella Hotel. The staff went above and beyond in all aspects of service. The room was new and clean. The location is perfect...close to everything...but on a quieter street. Every morning you can enjoy an incredible breakfast on the top floor with a view of the lake and city. My wife and eleven year old daughter agree with me that this was probably our favorite big city boutique hotel experience...ever. Thank you!

service beyond expectations

wonderful visit - from the welcome drinks and plate of fruit, to the beyond expectations effort in recovering my I-pad that I left on the van transporting us from Halong Bay. Everything about this hotel and the service they offer in amazing. Thank you. We loved our stay with you.

The room was well equipped with all essentials plus little gimmicks like ear plugs, petals of flower and a comprehensive directory on highly recommended eateries... Really close to downtown (Hoan Kiem Lake), staffs were so nice.

From check in to checkout 6 days later the service was beyond my expectations. The room was good, clean and quiet. Location was the best. Elevator was quick. Breakfast buffet and made to order with staff always ready to assist. Front desk was ready to help with answers to my never ending questions. Booking an excursion with staff was simple and used a good tour organization. When we departed early for a personal excursion of our own, the staff prepared a bag of breakfast to go which was an excellent start to our journey. I would like to give a shoutout to Jason and Kate for their professionalism, assistance and sincerity. We will definitely be a repeat customer. Cheers.

Perfect location, great room but the thing that made it stand out was all the staff, from the cleaner to receptionist were very friendly and this is my go to hotel when visiting Hanoi

Cute hotel with an amazing staff right in old town

This is a small boutique hotel, very comfortable and with amazing staff. It you want to stay where things are happening, this is the place. All staff was very, very attentive. Just to give an example: My wife needed soy milk with the coffee. Well, soy milk is not popular in Vietnam, and they did not have it on the buffet. However, Ha (yes, her name is Ha), figure out what it was and had someone go and buy some soy milk right away and had it just in time. Jenny at the front desk actually booked all the transportation to/from airport and even the HaLong by cruise, even for transportation to/from another hotel when I first arrive. Jason, the manager is also very active and anticipating our needs all the time. We noticed that generally speaking staff service is very personal in Vietnam and other Asian countries. Makes me wish that American hotels would consider more than just making an effort to give their change in brand new bills as a standard of service quality.

Central location near to local eatery, cafe, shops, spa and attraction. Friendly staffs that always serve me with smile and treat me like their friends. They always prompt to answer my queries and gave good recommendation on local food. Love their daily buffet breakfast spread and I even got a surprise birthday cake from the kind staff that made my birthday a memorable one. Thanks to the hotel staff for their warm reception and kind assistance during my stay. Will definitely stay here again if I visit Hanoi in future.

Location, location, location

Great hotel on a quieter street in the old part of the city. Excellent staff and attention to detail.

The staff made us feel special from beginning to end. Jenny, Kate and Helen at the front desk were just wonderful. The young lady at breakfast was great too.

EXCELLENT BOUTIQUE HOTEL WITH FRIENDLY STAFFS

Wonderful hotel with good quiet location, big room & extremely friendly staff ready to help-out with any requests. The buffet breakfast was also good with sufficient menu for full-time Vegetarians like us. Would highly recommend this hotel as it is within walking distance to the Hoan Kiem Lake, shopping streets & plentiful of F&B outlets.

A lovely stay at the Bonsella

We had a lovely stay at the Bonsella. The street is a lot quieter than some of the other Old Quarter streets and is a short walk to the lake which was lovely to walk around early in the morning. The room was spacious, wifi great - my son had skype lessons for violin with no problem and the room accommodated a roll away bed for our 14 yr old son with no problems. Bathroom was well equipped with modern facilities and the front office team were excellent and had all the nice little touches to make our stay memorable. The breakfast buffet was awesome and had a great range to choose from. We will definitely stay here when we visit Hanoi again.

A Hidden Gem

The hotel is perfectly located in the Old Quater a lane away from the lake & the walking Street. We've travelled around the globe but have never seen a more happy and enthusiastic Staff. Jason & Jenny are the senior members but will not hesitate to go out of their way to make any of your requests happen (even if they don't fall in their line of duty). I can literally go on forever. All I can say is Very worth it. Go for it. We are definitely returning soon!!

Great Hotel

Exceptional hotel and service to match. The staff were very friendly and provided great customer service. The location was central and all sites were within easy reach of the hotel. The manager provided an in-depth leaflet on the local area and recommended a fantastic local restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I made a mistake of trusting to much on reviews from multiple sites. This hotel was renamed from failing “Diamond hotel”, apparently without obvious renovation. Elevator rug seems coming directly from the street. Other than dated facilities, staff are also very pushy for good reviews.

It is really awesome hotel. The breakfast is great. The staff are kind to help us checking the tour pickup time. The hotel is close to Ho Hoan Kiem. It is easily to go to attractions by walk.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bonsella which is a short walk from the central lake. The streets of the Old Town are also close by. We had a large room on the fourth floor. An excellent breakfast is provided on the top floor with good views over the lake. There are tables on an open air balcony available. Although there is a lift, there are stairs to the reception from the street, and also to the breakfast room on the top floor. These may present a problem to people with mobility issues, although the hotel staff were very helpful. My only negative issue is that the Wi-Fi was poor with frequent buffering issues.

Our stay was exceptionally pleasant. Love the hotel convenient location near the lake and Old Quarter. The entire staff from reception to housekeeping and food service were professional, courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in town. Highly recommended.

Very good hospitality of the staff not only receptionists but the ones who serve breakfast. I liked the Travel Advice note (1 sheet summary) which I was given upon check-in. They really helped. Also, check “Hanoi recommendation” attached to the map (you can get it at reception and room). I feel that they listed most recommended restaurants (per different cuisines) and cafes on the TOP of the list (no affiliate PR but purely good ones in Hanoi). Very useful information.

The staff are outstanding and made us feel both welcomed and at-Home. There are just 27 rooms, 3 per floor, and ours was clean, comfortable, had a great bed, and a view of the lake. The location is ideal for exploring the Old Quarter and lake. We will return the next time we are in Hanoi.

My family stayed close to a week at the boutique Bonsella Hotel. The location is perfect, within minutes of Hoan Kiem Lake but on a clean and charming side street. Located on the top floor with view, the breakfast buffet and other included menu items were delicious. Also, the ladies that run the breakfast shift were so sweet and accommodating. We enjoyed all the amenities but most of all we were blown away with the 5-star customer service - from Jason, the manager, to the receptionist and bellmen. One morning we needed to leave early for Ha Long Bay and the front desk insisted on packing us breakfast for the road! The staff was always there if we needed any help, but never intrusive or hovering. It’s a good balance. We would not hesitate to recommend or stay at Bonsella when we come back to Hanoi. It’s a gem.

Staff was always helpful and facility is located in the Old Quarter Very safe

Staff very friendly and responsive to queries. They remember your name. They are also very helpfull for example they assisted in airport transfer. However there were construction near by and the sound was a bit annoying.

nice hotel in the old quarters. less than 5min walk to the hoan kiem lake and abt 5min walk to the water puppet show theatre. very friendly staff and good service. stayed in both junior suite and family room. prefer the family room as it is less noisy at night. the staff almost made a mistake and asked me to make payment for an extra bed for the junior suite even though i have already made payment for 3 pax through expedia. the issue was quickly resolved by the manager.

Perfect, comfortable spot to explore Old Quarter

This was a comfortable spot close to everything you could want to do in Hanoi. The staff was very accommodating and there was always a friendly face to greet you when you arrived or left. The room was nicely appointed and had a comfortable bed. I don't mind a firm mattress that you often find in SE Asian, but that is not a worry here. Hoan Kiem Lake is right around the corner and the street the hotel is on curves around and spits you out right into the Old Quarter. We ate at the Durty Chicken place just a few doors down when we needed a break from Vietnamese food and it was very good. Also went to the Polite & Co. Bar close by for some excellent cocktails at reasonable prices. The part that could be improved is the breakfast offering. The ladies working on the floor are so sweet and helpful but the offerings we're kind of a mixed and the coffee was TERRIBLE. That is a tough one considering Vietnam has such great coffee all over the place. My friends and I joked that it tasted like they used one K-Cup for the same pot all week. We ended up frequenting the Em Cafe just down and across the street every day to get our morning pick me up. Great little spot with a nice owner, great coffee, nice small menu that she tries to source organically and a lovely terrace from which to watch all of the street action below. Beware the massage place directly across, though, right where the road bends. Overall, loved Bonsella and would stay again. Just work on the coffee!

Wish I could give 6 stars

I travel quite alot in asia, stayed in 5* hotels and most of the time don't deserve the 5* ratings . Bonsella hotel is an exception. From the minute you checkin to checkout, you are treated like a family. Location was superb within waking distance to main attractions. There are also many eateries near by. All in all, its very affordable. Please chose Bonsella when you are in Hanoi..you will not be disappointed.

Hanoi old town

Walkable to most of restaurants, old center and few steps away from the lake. Hotel is clean and the service is 5 *. Staff are polite and friendly. They go out of their ways to make sure when you leave, you leave it with a big smile! Kudos to Mr Cuong, front desk manager, who took a step further by offering a free transportation to airport when I told him about the noise of a next door’s construction. Definitely, I will come back! Thanks Bonsella :-)

It was a perfect stay!! I was alone for a business trip, a short trip. The area which the hotel is located looked a little scary, but I was fine with it at the end. The staffs were super professional and friendly. They were very helpful. Especially, Leo, Jason and the two ladies at the roof top restaurant. They have a perfect write up flyer for the hotel and Hanoi. It was so helpful for me to get to the places. The hotel was so clean, and they clean it immediately if you are not satisfied with the cleaning service. The best thing that I like about the hotel is that they leave good night notes and farewell notes on your bed. So, when you get back to the hotel after one tiring day, they will never fail to carve a smile on your face with that note. And, not to forget they can tasty breakfast too!! Overall, it is highly recommended.

Lovely hotel close to everything in Hanoi.

This hotel is located next to the lake in the heart of Hanoi. We were in a group of six, checking in a different times. The hotel manager Jason was so helpful. We missed our trip to Halong Bay due to weather & the staff couldn't do enough to arrange an alternate tour.

Central with excellent staff

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make your stay a good one. They are so welcoming and friendly. We had a group of 6 and one of our party turned 50. Jason booked an amazing restaurant for us and arranged a cake which he would not accept payment for. They also decorated his room. Hotel is very central, walk to lake, shops, restaurants and hop on hop off bus. We highly recommend this hotel as they made our stay a very memorable one. Thank you Jason and staff

Bonsella is a small boutique hotel close to everything you need. Clean well appointed but the stand out which keeps us coming back is the staff. Jason and his team are amazing. They are warm welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. It is clear their primary concern and focus is the customer. They make you feel like family. Do not walk past Bonsella Hotel.

Ideally situated in the old Quarter, a few mn from the Lake and the quaint cathedral area. Nicest and most welcoming staff, excellent breakfast and very comfortable rooms and beds.

Very Nice Hotel close to the activities and food

I had arranged for a hotel transfer and this was waiting for us when we arrived in Hanoi. At the hotel we met Eddie who helped us with the check-in and provided with important survival information for our stay. Eddie always had a smile and was ready to provide any assistance. The hotel is within short walking distance to the centre of activities (north of the lake). It was convenient to just walk and get around. The hotel has recently been renovated and hence the rooms are very nice. The hotel may not be that big, but that is an advantage as the staff are able to take care of you better. The breakfast was very good - you ordered what you wanted, be it noodles or eggs (any style) and the chef cooks it for you fresh - delicious food - GREAT. We enjoyed our stay in Hanoi and particularly at Bosella Hotel. Highly recommended.

central located hotel

Good central location, but on a less chaotic street 2 minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. Room is comfortable & clean. Check-in process needs to be more efficient. it was a long wait.

Good location hotel at old quarters

Location is close to weekend market and good eateries are nearby. Staff are helpful, cheerful anf friendly all round like Sophia of front desk, the guys too, sorry can’t remember the names and the 2 waitressing at breakfast, exceptional services. Bonsella is lucky to have good staffs. Overall, the room at 9 floor was good, fairly new, except one set back, the place is noisy and weekend noises from street and everywhere started ad early as 6 am. Otherwide the breakfast and friendly staffs made up for it.

The hotel staff at Bonsella hotel is wonderful. Everyone is attentive to your needs and always eager to help with a smile. We used Bonsella as our home base while traveling to Ninh Binh, Sapa ang Ha Long Bay. I can’t say enough about the wonderful service we received from front desk.

Amazing people working in this hotel!

MUST STAY HERE IF YOU WANT INCREDIBLE SERVICE!!!

You will not find a hotel with better customer service. All the reception staff addressed us by names, even the ones that we have not met. They ensured every part of our stay is taken care of, like booking and walking us to the cab, making sure the cab driver goes to the right place and do not overcharge us. Breakfast was amazing as well! It has both buffet style food and made-to-order foods, like pancakes, pho and omelette.

Staff goes the extra mile

Hotel location was great for a couple days of exploring Hanoi. The hotel was a comfortable retreat to come back to when we needed to unwind. The staff is exceptionally nice. They call you by your name and know when you’re leaving or have excursions and have recommendations at the ready. They arranged airport transportation to/from for us and it was on time and convenient. A/C in the room works well, room is a good size and clean, and breakfast is decent. We will stay here again if we come back to Hanoi!

Best hotel in Hanoi

We really loved staying at Hanoi Bonsella Hotel. The location is very convenient, not in the middle of the crowded city centre, but very close & within walking distance to all major places. The rooms are very modern & spacious. And surprisingly they have the best pho we tasted in Vietnam!! Highly recommend this hotel & we will definitely stay at this hotel again next time we return to Hanoi. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff & see you again next time.

Hanoi Trip.

Excellent customer service and most ideally located; close to all touristy amenities. The friendliness and welcoming of the staff on every return trip was most pleasant. The breakfast was excellent with a variety of Asian and Western dishes. Gave an excellent experience of our visit to Hanoi. On early check out; the Hotel provided packed breakfast for our 5 hr journey to Sapa. A very good start to our 4 weeks travel in Vietnam and hoping our other stay in up coming hotels are just as good. Sincere thanks to the managers and all staff at Bonsella. Please continue with your wonderful service. Love to return someday.

All staff persons are very friendly ,courteous...they all treat guests with hospitality that made us feel like home....

Great Staff

You need to have a flat pillow option. A small gym with a treadmill in it would be nice as well. The staff, Sofia, Jessie, Jenny, Kate, Amy and the guys were great and very helpful.

Wonderful (but too brief) stay.

My partner and I unfortunately had only one night in Hanoi (21/02/18) but, with so many nearby hotel options, are we glad we picked this place! The Bonsella is a GEM of a hotel! We can't thank Sofia, Jenny and Eddie at front desk enough for their untiring assistance and professional, personable service; we hope the owners/management realize how valuable you are to their business! The location is perfect; in the Old French Quarter, just around the corner from virtually everything. The breakfast (which was delicious and had a vast selection) was served on the top floor and had a fantastic view of the nearby lake. Our guest room was exceptionally well appointed and spotless. Everything seemed new. We are already talking about a return trip to Hanoi and definitely will include the Bonsella in our vacation plans. Thank you!

Nice hotel by Hoan Kiem Lake

A pleasant welcome with excellent staff introducing the attractions and a list of eateries. We receive daily wonderful attention and I am so pleased with them that I would definitely go back to Bonsella if I’m returning to Hanoi. The unhappy part would only be that the irritating noise from the traffic, and someone using the loud speaker every morning that disrupts a peaceful sleep. other than that, the hotel and their staff had made our trip very enjoyable.
