Check in receptionist was very friendly and helpful!

We were there for 3 days and our room was not cleaned. That was disappointing. It was a stressful time for our stay in McHenry so we didn’t make an issue out of it however we probably will not stay there again.

My grandkids did a last minute stay for Spring Break. And we really enjoyed the pool. It was pleasantly at right temperature. Beds also were comfortable. They have already asked when we are going back

Overall was a great staying in the hotel.

This is a very nice hotel, and my room was really accommodating. The staff people I interacted with were fine, but they didn't go out of their way to be all that friendly or interactive; not bad customer service by any means, but not all that great either.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and very soundproof. We ended up by the elevator and I was wondering if it might end up loud, but it was not. The breakfast was clean, organized and well stocked at all times. Only thing I would comment on was listening to loud news on TV at 7:00 am while eating breakfast was not very pleasing. I might suggest front desk just having the TV set on a nature documentary?? Or just music. If someone wants to watch the news on their favorite channel they could do so in their own room.

Overall our stay was pleasant. We did not partake in the breakfast, so it’s not part of this review. Safe area, near convenient places to eat, gas stations, etc. And a short drive to Woodstock, which was the purpose of our trip. The hotel can’t fix this quickly but the walls are extremely thin. You can hear the next door neighbor’s toilet flush. If someone is being noisy in their room or out in the hall, it’s intrusive. The hot water was very hot in the sink, inconsistent in the shower. The bed frame made a weird metallic thunking noise when we sat on the edge of the bed. The room was nicely appointed with a mini fridge and a microwave. We appreciated that housekeeping did not come in when we had the do disturb sign up. The thermostat worked well. I think it’s a nice enough place for the price point. We also took advantage of Moraine Hills State Park being only a few miles away, and enjoyed Foxhole Pizza in downtown McHenry.

It was what we expected. It would have been nice to have more blankets and pillows. We discovered this problem late at night and did not want to get up to call someone or go to the front desk. They didn't have our reservation right at first and handle the change efficiently.

Super easy check in, everything was good. Room smelled strongly of bleach which is both good and bad lol.

duvet is scratchy, breakfast is edible at best other than waffles which were very good. The bananas for two days were so overly ripe they looked terrible, and weren't at all up to what you would expect. The room was clean and very nice, the halls and entry area also were very good. The personnel were very friendly and polite and accommodating.

We had a 5-day stay over the Thanksgiving Day period and the Hotel’s housecleaning didn’t come to service our room once! No made bed. No changed towels No emptying of trash. This was a terrible experience and I would NEVER advise anyone to stay here.

I have stayed here a number of times traveling for work. It's a well-maintained property with restaurant options within 5 to 10 minutes. Drive in McHenry or Crystal lake. Service and cleanliness have always been top notch.

Clean

This was probably one of the cleanest and most well kept hotels I've stayed in at this price point. Very satisfied with my stay.

Mold in the shower stall!

The most notable thing about our stay was the mold in our shower! We didn’t even shower because it was so gross!

Room was ready and clean. Room was lovely and quiet.

Everything was really good. The price was a bit high for what you get, but there was a concert in town. Bathroom was a bit dated with walls and ceiling, but shower was great! Room was comfortable.

We did not get the room type that we made a reservation for because they over booked the hotel.

I have stayed here offten, while visiting friends and family nearby. I only had one slightly disappointment, and that was a not so clean wood flooring. And hair found on desk by coffee pot- not mine? But, over all will stay again!

I am a repeat guest to this property and just as before, everything was wonderful. I noticed that the staff are mostly the same as when I was there in March 2023. They must take care of their employees as well as the guests.

Very clean. I liked the night light in the bathroom and that u can get apps from the tv.

Was convenient for me as I had a Dr appointment at the nearby hospital.

Hamptons are usually a safe bet. The hallway on the 3rd floor smelled musty, my room was no better. I laid there hoping the smell would go away but it didnt.

I spent several days at the Hampton. I enjoyed the bike inside the room , it allowed me to train during early mornings. The hotel is well maintained and clean, the personnel kind and responsive

We were in town for a baseball tournament. Wasn’t too many options for places to stay. Our room had one king bed and a pull out couch. My son said the pull out couch wasn’t comfortable and there was also food crumbs in the sheets. Maybe you want to change those sheets every time and possibly vacuum. All in all it was a decent stay.

Tv didn’t work, not enough towels, and the chair for the desk is terrible.

Weekend in McHenry

We have not stayed here for about a year and it has changed. The property has been renovated and is very nicely updated. Staff if very friendly and concerned about customer service. Very pleasant change.

Fridge in room wasnt working. Besides that the bed worked just fine.

It was wierd to have the bed face the window & the TV by its side. I felt the bed was too firm. There was dark mold-like stains along the bottom of the shower. Breakfast was good. People were friendly. Allowed us to check out late. Everything else was clean & newer.

Great hotel, sub-par bed

Everything was excellent except for the bed. It was like sleeping on a bed of concrete. I woke up with a sore back and neck

The room I reserved was under construction. No one said anything to me. I was given a room then had to go back to the reception desk to ask for my original room. That is when I found out it wasnt available. I had called multiple times throughout the week to make sure my reservation was ok and that the pool was good as it was for my daughter's birthday. Yet no one said anything. The room they gave me was too small for the number of guests. 4 kids 1 adult. So they made me pay for an additional room that was connected. I couldnt cancel as it was for my daughters birthday and she had friends coming to go swimming and have a sleep over. Now I am out even more money. Very disappointed in the service i was given. This would have been a vacant room room the night and instead, i had to pay them.

Needed a place to stay while visiting the area the hotel staff was friendly rooms were very clean and breakfast was good too.

The girl at the front desk was so pleasant.!The bathroom wasn't as clean as I hoped. There was a used towel and hair in the shower. The room and best was clean abd comfortable.

Everything was great till we went to lie down. The bed felt as hard as a rock. It wasn’t comfy at all.

Checked into our room turned down the sheets and the previous guest s stick of deodorant was in the bed. So clearly, the bed had not been changed or cleaned when they gave us a new room they gave us the wrong number so I was attempting to open the room of an already occupied guest, which then pissed off that guest, which then led me to dragging my three-year-old back downstairs for the second time that evening at 11 PM after I’d welcome him up because there was someone else’s deodorant in the bed, it was just overall very unappealing and very turned off to stay there ever again. The staff had very little sense of urgency to correct the problem and anytime you ask them anything they spoke to you as if you were stupid for not already knowing that the restaurant across the way it closed two weeks ago for instance. Overall, I think the staff needs to be taught what customer services especially in the hospitality industry.

Rocky start

Started out poorly. The desk clerk checking me in, said I was checked in, running my card, but got declined. Ran another card, same thing. There was another gentleman with the same problem and the clerk said it was our problem nothing he could do. Somehow it was the card reader connected declining the card. He then hand keyed the cards and they went thru. I don’t know if it was because we both booked thru a third party or what. Just very rude to say, you are checked in and the room is paid for, but because the card would go thru for a $50 deposit, that it was my problem , nothing he could do. There was plenty of money on the cards. Once he hand keyed, I was able to get a room key card and everything was good.

Great place to stay!

Room wasn't ready when we checked in, so we were upgraded at no extra cost. The room was clean and smelled wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were plump not flat like some I've seen at other hotels. I will definitely stay here whenever I'm in the area.

After arriving at our first hotel where we had a reservation and being told it was cancelled, we made a reservation here. We arrived about a half hour later and were treated with great courtesy and a room.

Very nice hotel, clean. Room walls are a little thin. Someone was getting lucky in the room next to us. Wow!! We could hear everything!!!

The property was nice. My big issue is that they told us yes when we asked friday night if we could check out a day early and be refunded. When we checked out next morning they said expedia would mail saying our refund came through. When I reached out to Expedia they said the hotel needs to issue the refund. Expedia called hotel to get the refund and hotel said they would not refund. Now we cant even get anyone at that location to answer our calls to inquire about refund and we can not email cuz they claim our exedra booking number isn't valid. The hotel was fine and the staff we dealt with most of the time was great, but charging someone $250 for a room they didn't use after you said you were issuing a refund and they probably rented to someone else after we left in unacceptable. I mean even a partial refund would be nice. Expedia was very helpful but the hotel has not been with this issue.

Road trip

Our room was clean, love the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. However we observed some who i assume were staff, moving mattresses from outside into the building, and drinking beers outside while laying up against the mattresses

Very good hotel

Very nice hotel. Clean, quiet, friendly staff. Modern and updated. Didn't stay for breakfast, but it looked like your typical hotel breakfast. The bathroom products were good quality. My only negative comment: there were people sitting on the grass at the front entrance drinking and smoking. I am surprised the hotel did not have a location for this activity instead of at the check-in door. That is definitely your first impression at check in.

My visit was short, but the experience was amazing from the start...I checked-in with Bob and felt comfort and safe, he explained the full amenity experience esp engaging with my nephewswho came with me to check out where I'm staying. Location was perfect, area was explored. At my 2am checkout with Ms Adele, was heartwarming. She has a heart of gold, I truly appreciate those beautiful words. She's a blessing to have met during my trip. Thank you for such a great experience, I'll def be back when I visit and stay with you again. Stay blessed. ❤️

Very nice hotel

Beautiful hotel. Very friendly staff. Very clean And comfortable. The only thing I would have changed is the temperature, it was a bit too warm in the common areas.

I had reserved a suite but was assigned a 2Q room. This was immediately resolved by the front desk clerk.

Amazing. We lost power. Julie at at the front desk took my call and found a room that was ready to check into at 830am after a night without power during an ice storm. She was a savior so we could get cleaned up and ready to work. Thanks Julie!
