Pet fee almost = room rate!

Adequate hotel but charged $75 for pet which nearly equaled our room rate and was not posted on the app when I booked.

We chose this property because of proximity to family. Like the closeness to restaurants and shopping. Quiet, clean.

The room was good and the breakfast choices were many. Only surprise was the $75.00 fee for having a pet. It negated the savings I was getting . Other local hotels charge $25-$30 for pets.

One bad thing is the fir alarm wake us up in the middle of the night. It’s very noisy and irritating to ears.

Was there for a quick night. Clean and friendly staff

We found this facility good enough. The room was layed out well and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to have coffee and tea available 24/7 and the ice machine was very convenient and nice. Very much appreciated the shampoo, conditioner and lotion provided. We had multiple food options all within walking or very short drive distance. Opportunities for improvement would include a little better cleaning. We found a pair of used socks on the floor just under the corner of one bedspread so that made me wonder how well important areas in the bathroom had been cleaned. Also really hate tissue paper thin toilet paper but that seems to be what every hotel uses now. Lastly, we couldn't turn the air conditioner down as low as we like for sleeping. None of these "opportunities" would keep us from staying there again but, for the price, I think we could do better.

Great stay!

Nice place but serious setbacks

Water never heated up in the shower (never experienced that in our years of Hampton Inn stays); bathroom door hinges were noisy in opening/closing door.

We were VERY disappointed with The Hampton! We have stayed in Hampton's before, however, this one was FILTHY! There was MOLD in the shower in many places...obviously not cleaned. The toilet was not solid to the floor and it rocked back and forth. The staff was less than friendly! Very short-tempered. Talk about being cheap...this was the place! You had to ask for EVERYTHING! No Kleenex, 2 towels...that was it! We didn't realize that some of The Hamptons are owned by individuals and not The Hilton. The owners of this place were CHEAP! NEVER AGAIN!

The night checking in the gentleman was friendly and courteous, same when checking out at 5:50am, the young lady for that early was great.

The elevator was out. The desk clerk gave me a handicap room since I was alone and a senior with mobility issues. Quick thinking. Such a good listener.

Great stay!

We only had one night to stay in Columbus and we’re so happy with our choice of hotels. Such a comfortable, clean, nice place!

Stinky room

First room stunk so bad!! We got moved to another room on our way there we saw the front desk person bring fabreze we figure out that is probably how they “clean”. Elevator was broken.

Not a great stay

When we got there we were told the elevator was out of service. My wife is handicapped and uses a scooter. The check in clerk couldn’t put us on the first floor. He almost acted like he wanted us to cancel. We then asked for a room as close to the stairs door as possible so she didn’t have to walk very far after climbing the steps. He said yes our room was towards the end of the hallway. 214 was practically in the middle of the hallway. We weren’t sure if the air in the hallway was on it was hot and stuffy in there. She wasn’t able to go to breakfast with me because she couldn’t do all that walking.

Smell

The hotel was fine, but the lobby had a smell and the room smelled even worse. Kinda like an indoor pool that's been heavily chlorinated!

Nice clean and comfortable. Room service interrupted our morning many times before checkout. Once at 8:30, 9:15 and 10:15 am

Elevator not working . I was surprised for the extra pet fee ($75). Not sure if I missed it on the Expedia website …… Carpet in public area needs attention .

The person at desk was not very friendly, I booked through Hotel.com which did not mention an extra dog fee, I specifically booked for 3 adults & a dog. I mentioned the dog at check in and there was a 75$ extra fee & I said it didn't say that on the booking site he acted rude about the 3rd party booking site how you weren't responsible for their sites. He said hatefully that it was stated on Hamptons web site . Which I did not use, there should be better communications , it was late we were tired and a rude person at the desk and the additional charge was not appreciated.

Room for improvement but felt comfortable

Staff were friendly! Hotel room over all seemed clean, however, there is room for improvement with the bathroom - especially the shower head. The elevator also did not work but staff assisted with carrying my belongings to the second floor. No complaints about breakfast, had a variety of warm and cold options. Overall, I felt comfortable.

The stay was great! The accommodations were very nice. I can see us staying here again in the near future. The host, Daisy, who made breakfast, was beyond kind and accomodating. We didnt get to swim, but the pool area was always clean and clear of hazards. We absolutely will stay here again!

Simple and it worked for us!

Very clean, the breakfast was delicious! The elevator is under maintenance until July, the staff asked us if Expedia made us aware of that as soon as we checked in.

Very clean, well kept property. Check-in was quick as was check-out. Pool was a little too chilly for a heated pool. Breakfast was decent. Nice touch was the personalized greeting on the TV when we got into our room. Definitely would stay here again.

Elevator was out of order. Found out upon checkin so too late to switch to another hotel. I had a fair amount of things I could not leave in car overnight so disappointing to have to haul it up the stairs when I was exhausted. Check in clerk didn’t offer an apology, just “the stairs at that end of the hall are closest to your room.”

Hampton Inn was great. Expedia not so great. I will never use Expedia again. I couldn't get any customer service to get a confirmation number to give to the receptionist. I couldn't get customer sevice from Expedia to get a refund. I ended up paying for the hotel room twice. Once to Expedia and again to the hotel. Expedia SUCKS.

The staff was friendly and the appearance of the the place was nice. It is close to dinning areas and the casino. I would recommend the Hampton for others and will continue to stay here for my outings and vacations. I enjoyed it. The breakfast was good also.

Smelled moldy and cigarette smoke. Desk was very dusty and toilet paper in toilet on arrival. Rug very damp Need other options for breakfast other than nasty over cooked sausage and powdered eggs.

The cleanliness was impressive. Beds and pillows were so comfortable.

We had 2 rooms. One room was very quiet. Liked how convenient it was to shopping and variety of restaurants. One room was next to the ice machine and air conditioning was not working. Not much variety at breakfast and the "hot" portion was lukewarm.

Everything was fine just they didnot provide a clean towels to used the second day even without requesting those and they didnot pick the used ones.

Clean property both inside and out! Nice parking lot, warm lobby, clean elevators. The receptionist was nice, everyone took good care of us. Room smelled nice, was very clean! Nice and dark at night, but there was a cool night light type light above the desk, my kids liked that. The beds were somewhat uncomfortable. Our neighbors were a bit loud. Breakfast was great! Sausage/omelet/potatoes/waffles/fruit/etc.

Rooms in our floor were smoking marijuana. It was so bad, the smoke and smell were filteri g into the hallway and our room. There was so much smoke, that the fire alarm went off. The staff did nothing to calm the fears of hotel guests. No appologies for the disgusting odor inbthe hallway ir our room. Will not stay here again

Extremely clean, overall great

Updated, comfortable, immaculately clean room and bathroom. Great location with tons of amenities very close. Easy to get to, but also on a quiet side street.

We enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel was close to a lot of restaurants and sports bars and just off the freeway. Quiet and clean.

Liked - clean and had the basic amenities we care about. Not liked - room HVAC is somewhat loud - interferes with sleep.

First room ac didn't work and bathroom was covered in mold. Second room was 2 beds not a king like I booked, and then the ac didn't work well.

Breakfast is great. Receptionist is very helpful. I love the idea that it's just near Walmart and Sam's. There are restaurants nearby. The trash at the back door entrance/exit is full and scattered along the door.

When we do trips to/from the East Coast from St Louis, this is a regular stop. Hotel is very clean and well maintained, staff are pleasant and helpful, breakfast is good.

It is clean and comfortable

Bed hard as a rock. AC never cool cooled the room before 78F even going full blast out entire stay. Staff checking us out did not ask about our stay, just took key cards and said the receipt would be emailed.

We had a great experience! The kids had a great time in the pool. There was a nice area to walk the dog and let him stretch his legs. It was the first stop on our road trip from PA to CO. There were also plenty of food options!

Need to be made aware of additional pet fees

There was no mention of a pet fee prior to our arrival. However when we arrived to check in I was asked to pay a $75 additional pet fee that was never mentioned when I paid in advance.

Consistently high quality with pleasant staff and clean nicely appointed rooms. Good value.

Though the staff was great and the breakfast was good we saw a lot of dirt in hallway and found socks and some custom jewelry in room...

Great stay

Clean, convenient, friendly staff, GREAT breakfast service (don't ever change this!), parking lot lighting.

Everything was very clean, the room was massive and they provided a decent breakfast. The room wasn't overly fancy but great for a short stay. The staff was amazingly friendly.

Pleasant & Clean

Our stay was very good. Check in was fast & easy. The young man who checked us in was delightful. The elevator floor was really sticky but did get cleaned up. The room was clean & comfortable, the temperature was easily adjustable. In other Hampton Inn's they offered bottled water, when I asked if they had any, they sent me to a vending machine which in turn gave me a Sprite not a water. This was not the same delightful person who checked us in.

Overall pretty good! Could be cheaper. Staff at front desk both nite and morning were very friendly. Breakfast was surprisingly reall good! Not a typical grab and go muffin stop.....biscuits and gravy, omlets, waffles, etc.....impressed! My only complaint would be the mattress was too firm and not really comfortable for myself but im sure others may like it!

We stayed for one night while visiting Columbus for COSI. The man’s name was Garth when we checked in at the front desk. He was very nice. Later in the evening, another gentleman was working the front desk and he wasn’t as friendly. The pool area needed cleaned and there were about 16 teenage girls in the pool which got pretty rowdy. The pool room was uncomfortably humid and not enough seating. Also, no tables to use for personals. A little boy got sick outside of the pool, we left at that point. I’m not sure how the hotel cleaned it up, a few moms were using the pool towels to wipe the floor. Overall stay was decent. Room was a little dark overall in decor.

I have stayed here many times and it is consistently clean and well run. The furniture in the eating area needs to be cleaned but everything else is well maintained.
