Stayed over one night with my daughter for medical appointment. The room was excellent. Though I didn’t book an accessible room it was. I must note that the room and in particular bathroom was very well designed for persons with mobility issues. The included breakfast was very good.
Very clean and affordable Pool could use some upgrades
Staff was amazing. Breakfast room was clean and fully staffed. Food was prepared well and plentiful.
Breakfast was great!
Great location. Older property but very clean. Nice to have breakfast included. Would stay again.
Breakfast waffles. That is the main reason I am staying here. Other neighbouring hotels were cheaper but my girlfriend insisted on having those waffles for breakfast. Thanks guys.
Noyhing.
I like the Hampton. Stayed there many times. I like that check in and out is easy. And I like that it’s close to everything
It was convenient for what we needed. The breakfast was great.
Perfect for a short stay in Halifax, bring your skates the oval is 5 minutes walk and plenty of choice for food and evening entertainment
Staff very pleasant and accommodating.
Not Anymore
I had a very bad experience with this particular premises and the hotel manager wrote to me asking for another chance. As the quality of breakfast was the only highlight of our stay last time, I decided to give this hotel another chance. I booked two rooms for my family and my friends. The check-in was wonderful and smooth and the front desk staff was kind, patient and knowledgeable. However, it seems that when we got into the room, the odour was a surprise. The breakfast was sharply downgraded and we were disappointed. So, I decide to strick out this hotel from my list.
Everything was great
complimentary breakfast was great!
It was pretty good
Clean hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would love to stay here again.
Was good !
Everything was amazing
Breakfast buffet was very tasty. The pedway to the waterfront across the street was very handy as sidewalks were icy and hard to move on. Staff allowed us to check in early with small room change
Professional staffs , Calm atmosphere
Mixed feelings
I appreciated the early check-in, however, the restricted access garage usage procedures, rules and tools have NOT been clearly identified. Vacuuming is not a forte of the hotel.
One of the best hotels I’ve been to. Bathroom was spotless and the arrangement of furniture makes the room bigger.
Nice hotel
This was our second visit and the staff was kind and helpful. The facility is in good repair and our room had a great view.
Checked in at 4pm and our room was not ready even though check-in is for 3pm. Was initially told we would have to wait with no timeline given. Another agent called us over and offered a room however, it did not have the view that we had booked. I watched several other people checking in and being told their rooms were not ready by the same initial agent whose interactions with guests was generally disinterested. With so many nearby hotels, unlikely to go back
It was great! Check in was smooth, parking was convenient and the location was perfect for our night out
Very reasonable price, easy walk to restaurants, quiet, and a great breakfast.
Close to all the downtown activities
Great stay
It was great, you can park outside or in the garage
Not enough parking
Good location
Staff at the front desk was fantastic, very helpful very polite
Very nice and comfortable
Great
I’d stay again.
The room was very clean, heat was very quiet all night.
There is major drawback in services and value that you give to your customers.... No basic room amenities placed like toiletries, Water , disposable sleepers... I have stayed Hilton properties in Asia... wherein they provide such basic things. Even parking is chargeable... Surprising for me. Breakfast is also basic what other small brands like Comfort inn is giving in city. Stay was shock for me.
Location was great. Staff are friendly. Room is decent but in arrival, the fridge cabinet door fell off - major safety hazard. Called the front desk, it wasn’t addressed until the late in the day and was still not fixed. Bathroom is clean however the drain stopper was faulty, clogging up the sink even for a quick handwash. Overall maintenance appears to be sub-par
Great location
Perfect Hotel
It was so perfect. When I stay at the Hampton Inn I feel like the bell of the ball. I am the luckiest girl in the world.
Excellent hotel, just very little parking if you have a taller vehicle.
No parking, they said for parking first come first served, they should mention before ,very weak internet service, very cold room, they said use extra blanket.
Heater wouldn’t work in the room, had to call maintenance twice as it was blowing out freezing cold air. Then the elevator wouldn’t work for our floor so we had to walk 6 flights of stairs. Unacceptable.
Good
Convenient location to downtown Halifax
We had a quiet night stay, our room nice and clean, bed was comfortable. staff very friendly. breakfast load of options. Convenient and walkable in citadel, emera oval, waterfront and others places.
It was a really good stay. We loved everything except that the parking is not included and it's $25 per night. It was not mentioned in the booking that its not included. Also the lighting inside the room was very dim.
Clean
nice hotel
Parking at this property was expensive and one of our bed was damaged and all they did was offer me points for the inconvenience and sore back. Manager said they are in the process of changing beds but they used the budget to replace the tv first. $28 for parking per night is insane after the room cost.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great . I guess the price was fair but there was kind of an over all dinginess to the room. Nothing fresh to the space
Great location
First time using Hilton in a very long time. there was a wheel there but wasn’t asked to spin it to earn bonus points etc. Wasn’t recognized as a gold member- Which was acknowledged in a chat before checking in. Wasn’t told about breakfast. Key Card was deactivated at 11 am.
I liked that it was a downtown location, with easy parking options. The staff was friendly upon check in.
It was conveniently downtown Halifax
Helpful staff, clean room, free breakfast, pool, convenient location.
dsvsdv
Clean hotel, easy to navigate.
Cleaned and staff are nice
Very convenient, clean and better than average included breakfast. Room has heating issue and even after it was resolved, it was still cold.
Disappointed
Despite lodging at this hotel several times before, I am more disappointed than all previous stays. After 4 hours driving, I finally arrived this hotel with my family and my friend family. First impression is that the garage door wouldn’t open and the telecom was not working. Parked my car illegally outside of the parking lots, I went to front desk to ask why. I also tried to called the front desk from the garage however there was never someone answering. After a long wait, the lady at the front desk told me that parking cards are only available after checking in. Most hotels offer temporary parking card for guests to bring to the front desk for a hotel card and it js very inconvenient for guests. The check in process is slow and painful and no preference was asked. The receptionist seemed treating Caucasian guests with extremely nice attitude while Asian guests get cold and long face without smile! As a visible minority, I am very uncomfortable being treated differently. Then the room. The room is cold, and only 18 degrees Celsius. I turned the heats to 26.5 but after two hours, myself and my family still had to wear winter coats in the room. I tried to call front desk, housekeeping and maintenance, however the line was also busy for three of them. I had to go down to the front desk to ask and 20 minutes thereafter, a technically showed. He told me that I had to manually reboot the heater switch, which I don’t think I either should or qualified to do. Only thing good is
Check in was a little slow, but staff were friendly. The bed linens were stained with red, maybe blood, maybe wine, and there were only 2 towels a few extra would have been better.
Computers need to be upgraded as the check in was extremely slow but staff was great
Chilly nights stay
We booked for kind and received two double beds, hotel was accommodating and switched our room, however the king room the furnace was not working and we had maintenance reset it we reset it and still was very chilly our room woke up to 17degrees. Plus maintenance was eager to help came right to our room just was unable to fix the issue and we were not wanting to switch rooms again.
A beautiful hotel, with a lovely cafe and convenient store right outside. The staff were reasonably friendly, and respectful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, so far my favorite beds of any hotel I’ve stayed at. If I had one tiny little complaint, wish the bathtubs were a bigger, but hey, using less water is good for the environment so I can’t really complain that much. Breakfast was delicious, and parking is great, yes you have to lay extra, but it’s worth it.
Location was great and the price was right.
We had booked this property because we were traveling with 5 kids including 2 babies and there was parking. When checking in (past 4pm) we were told neither rooms were ready. We had to wait in the lobby. We unloaded both vehicles and asked for parking. We were then advised there was no parking left so we had to park 15 minutes away by foot. We finally got the key to 1 room at 5pm. The other room was ready 20minuted later.
No free parking and available parking was all full except for a $25 option.
Stationnement payant Chambre vieillotte
The room was clean and comfortable. No issues
I like this hotel but the bed we got was pretty terrible. I should have switched rooms the second night but decided to give it another try. I regretted it. Other than that it’s a great hotel to stay at.
I dont like the pool the water not looking clear so I dont swim
Horrible breakfast
Breakfast was the worst I have experienced
Where is my cork screw??
I asked for a corkscrew and two wine glasses and I had to go down to the desk three times,, each time I went down, they said it was on its way
Great stay,
Great location and staff
Unfortunately the pool was terribly dirty.
Excellent! Easy check in and out, very clean and comfortable. Great experience!
The staff were very friendly, the hotel was exceptionally clean and the morning breakfast was excellent.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a good start to the day. We were in Halifax for both Hal-Con and a Concert. At both the Scotia Bank Center and Convention Center and both were in walking distance.
Great all around hotel!
The room was great, lots of space and very comfy beds. I did notice for an accessible room the hand soap in the bathroom was very high up on the wall with no visible way to bring it down. Also the pool looked very outdated. The part that I assume was once a waterfall looked very dingy. The breakfast was great with pleanty of options and it was nice to see that they changed it up a little from one morning to the next.
Good place to stay
Nice place to stay, especially the hot breakfast is good
There was someone else's socks and garbage in my room . The staff were less than personable. They obviously don't like where they work
Ofcourse free breakfast, aside that, the facility like gym and convenient to downtown
Location is great for downtown. Always love getting breakfast with room. We scored the last parking spot for the night so guests who checked in after us had to find spots. The elevator was really annoying and took a long time to come. Those are the only negatives. Everything else was perfect.
Our go to hotel in Halifax
The location is very accessible. Staff is approachable.
Property was great. They oversold on parking and when I came back from work, around 9:00 pm, there was no place in the garage to park. Manager was very accommodating and attempted to put everyone on site however, some had to park elsewhere. It was time consuming to sort out. Breakfast was great. Staff are very friendly. Beds are average and could use an upgrade but still ok.
Nice
The hotel seemed to be a standard hotel. But as anyone knows location is key and this hotel was perfectly located for exploring Halifax. We loved the included breakfast and tea and coffee service throughout the day. We were pleased to discover a laundry room. We didn’t have to travel home with dirty clothes. Also the sitting are on the balcony area was great! We enjoyed our stay.
3rd time staying at this hotel. Every time elevators are so slow. So slow I often decided to take the stairs to our 6th floor. So slow it has me thinking of no longer staying there. First visit thought it was because the kids from a hockey tournament. Second time same thing. But our third stay there were no hockey tournament kid's yet still unbelievably alow elevators.
Clean, well located, nice staff.
BED BUG INFESTATION
I had a very disappointing experience at the Hampton Inn by Hilton. On the morning of my checkout, I discovered bed bugs in my room. I immediately reported it to the front desk with photos, and they assured me they would follow up with compensation. However, I received no call from them. I called back myself, only to be directed to a manager who was not on duty. Since then, I’ve tried calling the front desk about five times over the past two hours and still haven’t reached anyone. Because of the infestation, I had to throw away my suitcase and bags and have all my clothes professionally dry cleaned, which added unexpected costs to my trip. I’m incredibly frustrated by how poorly this situation has been handled. Having bed bugs in the room is bad enough, but the lack of responsiveness and accountability from the hotel is even more disappointing. I expected much better from a Hilton property.
Quite central to activity areas. More variety for breakfast will be appreciated. Will stay here again
Great all around stay!
Staff great! Parking great (protected and clean)! Breakfast great! Thank-you!
I didn’t like the fact that I had to pay for parking and was not informed beforehand
