Very clean and new.Comfy beds

Good motel

Very nice spot and motel. Room was very spacious and modern. More attention needs to be given to cleaning, as rubbish behind a luggage rack in room and dust and dirt behind bed and bedside cabinets, sticky benches and still remnants of toothpaste in sink in bathroom. Tissues in room would also be nice as didn’t like that I had to blow nose on toilet paper. Based on price per night I would expect at least the tissues and cleaning to be spot on. Other than that it is a lovely motel with lovely host and would stay again.

A great location and the room was clean, but the condition of the place overall was a bit tired. The room that we had booked and paid for several weeks before, had not actually been allocated to us. We were offered a cheaper room instead, but have not as yet been refunded the difference in price.

Clean, comfortable and with helpful staff. A stones throw away frpm the Marina with excellent restautants! I'd stay again.

A Wee Treasure

Friendly and very informative on arrival. We would stay again it was so relaxing with the special views of the harbour nice drives and eatery's and supermarket very handy.

It had pleasant surroundings and views and it was nice to sit bean bags or park like seating with a cold wine and nibbles with a marina views.

Location, very nice layout of rooms, spacious kitchen area and bathroom. Location is great just minutes to beach, ferry, Marina, shops and excellent cafes and restaurants.buildings a bit dated but clean and well maintained with very helpful manager. All around a very good place to stay outside of downtown Auckland.

Great location and roomy rooms with very hospitable manager who welcomed us and treated us very well. Motel is right next to beach marina and three minutes from ferry to downtown Auckland so extremely convenient . Rooms have been recently upgraded so better than some reviews we read. Very easy for parking and with nice kitchen and bathroom.

It was ok, grounds needed maintenance, tidyup, needs curtains on toilet and bathroom windows. Hand / soap squeeze dispensors broken. Location excellent for us. Very nice outlook.

Property has been recently renovated but was not done professionally which is a shame. Great location, handy to supermarket, cafes and ferry.

Disgusting

Dirty dishes, dirty and smelly bedding specially the pillow just disgusting... the house keeping lady cleaned the toilet seat and the kitchen benches with the same cloth and gloves, spider web in the kitchen above the stoves, rude receptionist...

Spacious room. Nice location next to marina. Nice cafés, restaurants and stores are 100 m away. Also one can get ferries from the marina to Auckland CBD and to Waiheke Island.

Had a lovely times, only issue we found was there was only one sofa for four of us. But otherwise a really lovely stay, friendly staff and great location!

The room had a terrible smell. Bathroom was mouldy and run down. Very unkept. Needs to be refurbished. Not worth $190 per night.

The location is great it’s a pity the motel is not the same , very tied needs a lot of TLC , it’s not a hard job to remove mould around the bathroom area but apparently it is here and along with substandard repairs , horrible carpet and curtains it is not a good look .Would not stay there again .

Amazing view and so close to everything. Shower pressure really good but shower recess built dangerously high to step in and out of. Bed really comfy - a lockable fly screen would have been good or a ceiling fan in lieu of a/c

Loved the location , nice view of the harbour , easy walk to several restaurants , supermarket and the ferry to Auckland which was a great , better than taking our car into the CBD.

An improvement from last year in that the room had been renewed inside. The bed could have done with a lighter cover. Not affected by any noise from the local bar like last year. Easy going manager.

Room was very spacious and clean. It had been very recently upgraded and modernised. Bed was comfortable, and room had everything that was expected. No complaints at all.

Customer service was average. Not really helpful, rooms had no AC or a fan.

The motel is so close to the marina-which is great for kids to explore. The motel is tidy with basic things but a little grubby on closer inspection.

Cool location right on the marina. Great food places really near-by, especially cinnamon cafe for breakfast. Decent motel. Clean. Good shower. Bathroom window was broken (couldn’t close) when arrived but reception had it fixed straight away while we were out. Easy check in and out. Even let us check in quite early.

Good location, handy to ferries, restaurants, supermarket. Quiet, lovely outlook. Could do with a few little extras like body wash, shelf and grab rail in shower, robe hooks in bathroom, tea towel rack in kitchen and suit case racks in bedroom.

Lovely location. but......

Lovely location. But another occupant unit kept us awake from midnight until 2.30am. No fault of staff. Was surprised that a large family unit like we had, didn't have a full kitchen available, like a kitchen sink and a microwave. Renovations were obvious. But still had some work to be done.

Good location but badly in need of maintenance. No bathroom consumables. A hole in one of the doors. Not worth the $160 cost

Half decent in half moon

The room was adequate had all the facilities I needed including wifi and parking. A lovely view of the dock with the sail boats and yachts.

The place has had nothing done to it since it was built .On top of this thier is very poor maintained carried out .But due to the location will stay thier again

Had booked two rooms got there day of check in to be told that one had been damaged and had put us in a two bedroom apartment- that only sleeps five and there were seven of us in total! Still expecting a refund!

great location

This hotel was in a lovely location by the marina with lovely cafes in walking distance. The staff were helpful. Wifi in our room did not work. There was mould in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable and lots of room. I thought I booked one double bed and three singles but there were only two singles so my fiancé slept on the couch. Overall I was happy but this hotel needs lots of money and work.

Needs a few personal touches and extras to make it feel comfortable. Basic and clean and they have updated but could have a better standard of finish, paint job etc

Accommodation close to the Marina

We went there on business. Location for us was excellent. I am sorry to have to say the following comments because I think this man is trying hard. But he needs professional help and to visit some other motels of a higher standard. There was no tea towel or dishscrubber to clean the plates, but on asking he handed me a used pot scrubber !! (what had this been used on before?) The room was cold, but the man gave us another heater. (I really didnt expect to have to do this). The room had an old musty smell and felt unclean. Decorating was untouched from the late ?1970's. There was a new tap fitting that was totally unsuitable. You turned the tap on and got spashed with water - it went everywhere. The lighting was abysmal in all areas.

Noisy partygoers on Friday night at adjacent Marina, and whilst unit was clean, the parking area and front was only metal and dirt and garden areas in front of units had been abandoned. Electric blanket didn't work first night but was replaced next morning. Over priced for what you got. Staff helpful and courteous.

Great location, large clean apartment with basic facilities. Comfortable beds and rooms quiet at night. However carpet ripped and damaged in some places and hole in bathroom wall and a power point need fixing in kitchen. Room 18. Friendly staff good.

Nice views and friendly staff

Having traveled for 5 hours I was ready for a comfy rooom and bed. I have been back a couple of times now when I’m up in Auckland and would recommend this accomodation to all. Thanks for n awesome stay at a reasonable price

Pretty stay in Half Moon Bay

I would definitely stay at this motel again. Although the décor was tired the room was very spacious and comfortable and came with an outside seating area. The situation and surrounding area is lovely. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Motel was dated. Very spacious but could be cleaner. There were ants in the toilet and mould growing in the shower wall, where a hole about 5cm diameter was. There was also no sky

Poor customer service. Room plain, bland, no table, stained towel & room not prepared properly before checking in. Would not return & don't recommend to others. Table on request advertised on hotel.com website not on their official website. Need to ensure info matches their website plus fotos need to match actual rooms.

Half Moon Bay Marina Motel

The location is great, just outside Aukland. It is near a ferry link in a marina setting. The apartment was very spacious and well equipped but was in need of a good deep clean, especially the kitchen floor. When we wanted to check out at 9.15 there was no one there even though it was supposed to open at 9. They eventually arrived at 9.25.

No movie channel...told owner ..but did nothing .

Dirty shower. Previous visitors black hair left in bathroom. Tv not working properly...owner couldnt care less when i complained.

Looked nice in photos but actually quite run down

No upkeep of grounds had to ask for an extra blanket as there were no spares in room and no heater to use on a cold night. Im glad it wasnt winter. Towels were stained. Nothing homely about room no paintings or pictures just blank walls.

A Half Moon Bay convenience

The staff was lovely, the room was clean, the area Fabulous. However, the room was outdated with no fan or air conditioning of any sort. Luckily I travel with my own USB fan. Also, the bathroom had some cosmetic damage and issues that needed sorted. In saying that, I’d stay there again as it was clean and good value for money. The marina with its vibe and restaurants were literally less than a 5 minute walk. It’s out of the way, but if your doing anything near the marina, it’s perfect.

Staff excellent. The dove was annoying. Our unit has not been refurbished yet so was very tired. The unit next door has been done and looked fresh and nice.

Old Out dated with holes in the wall

Greeted by a young man who looked me up and down like I was in the wrong place. There was no Hi welcome to blah blah just a blank stare and then given the keys after I informed him it was booked on line...First Strike Room was old and musty, hole in bathroom wall, stains on carpet, tv not tuned properly to channels, toilet opens to front door, no basics like milk for tea....Strike 2 The sheets on the bed clearly not been replaced they were not crisp but creased like my home sheets that I Sleep in on my own bed regularly...you could easily tell the sheets were not clean or fresh. The room felt dirty....Strike 3 Your Out Only great thing about this place is the location.Next to the marina....Sad

Great location on the Marina at Half Moon Bay. We appreciated the friendly service offered by the Staff. He was very helpful & was extremely helpful at all times, including doing our washing! WOW

We stayed in an Economy 2 Bedroom unit upstairs. It was a good size, clean and had been was furnished nicely. We enjoyed our stay.

OK. The unit I was in was newly reconditioned but rather bare. Needs a table and chairs in main room. A nice picture on the bare wall would have made it more homely. Bathroom had no amenities and low quality toilet paper.

The young manager doing his best to improve things, i think the owners know the value of the real estate and feel no need to upgrade it. it could be a great place

Close to amenities

Good location but obviously renovating rooms. Microwave would have been handy in double room we had booked, and plates? Also no towel rails in bathroom. Main Room too light with outside lights on, maybe suggest blackout curtains, Otherwise nice and quiet location, great Cafes next to marina. Would stay again, host was welcoming. Thank you

Booked in error

The hotel was fine for what I needed it for. It was dated in some of the décor but overall clean and tidy. There are some small maintenance issues that could be addressed. The bed was comfortable and shower was good. If I stay again I won't book through Hotels.com. I made the error of booking through them and didn't realise it was in USD. My mistake which I won't make again.

Quiet

Very quiet location away from the maddening crowds of Auckland. Our room recently redecorated and still awaiting clothes hanging space & a few pots & saucepan - unit will then be complete!. Plenty to look at for the 'boaties' and Auckland & Waiheke Ferry just minutes away.

Great location for purpose...but that's about it!

We arrived and there was no one at reception. It was pouring with rain and the gutters were over flowing due to the obvious lack of care and maintenance! A young guy came out of one of the units and greeted me. He asked me my name, handed me a piece of paper and told me to sign it. I mentioned to him that we ended up having to bring my 3 yr old niece with us due to her Dad who was still at home, needing to work. I had my sister n law, and my 6 month old baby, plus my niece. He told me he would need to charge an extra $20 for the 3 yr old, because it was going to be another bed used?? I explained that she would be sleeping in the double bed with her Mum in one room, and I would be in the other room sleeping in a single bed and my baby had a portacot to sleep in. There was one other single bed in the room I was in. I said to him that even if my niece hadn't come with us, we still would have used 2 beds as I do not want to sleep in the same bed as my sister n law. He did care and was rude to me. We arrived up to our room, it was one of the 'renovated' rooms. While it was tidy and had good quality new furniture. there wasn't a microwave in our room (although when I needed to heat baby food the guy was accommodating and allowed me to use another one in another room). It was a 2bdrm unit, you would think it would have this facility. Beds were comfy and linen was clean. The bathroom was FILTHY there were pubic hairs on the floor and it hadn't been wiped or mopped for a long time!!

Very dated and run down. Bathroom was awful. I wouldn't stay here again. Only thing it has going for it is that it's close to the marina.

Lovley Motel on the water front

Great location, great facilities, great manager / host. Those are always very important aspects, and with this motel is was tops, great value for money, we will come again. Thanking you.

Filthy and run down. No Wifi (as advertised)

The best thing about this Motel is the location, after that it is all down hill. The place needs totally gutting and renovating. The bathroom is a disgrace - mold everywhere, a drain so broken I would not want kids in the shower alone. No extractor fan that works in the shower so when you enter the motel room it smells musty. Sticky lino floor in the kitchen. When we went out we closed the windows (one was broken so impossible to close properly) and locked the doors. When we returned the 'cleaner' had been in and left every window in the place wide open. One of the reasons we took with place was because of 'Free Wifi'. The Wifi does not work. It constantly drops out and even when you do have a connection you can't down-load anything 90% of the time. The wifi does not work in all rooms of the Motel. When I spoke the the person who appeared to be running the show he said Expedia should not have advertised they had Wifi.... If you have to stay in this place brink shoes to wear in the shower..

Wow! Half Moon Bay Marina at Sunset

Huge potential for the 2 x bedroom apartment to be something special. The view of the marina (particularly at sunset) was simply gorgeous and the apartment's proximity to the excellent restaurants at the Marina was excellent. Checkin was easy, the apartment had everything we needed, but it needed quite a bit of TLC and a decent clean. Unfortunately, some of the white bedlinen was dirty/stained when we arrived!

Great location

I had family to visit but needed a little space for myself and the Marina Motel was perfect. Beautifully peaceful board walks and shops close by for breakfast and early coffee helped to enhance the trip. The room was extremely comfortable and I will stay again.

This motel should be demolished it had holes in a door and the worst future I have ever seen any where in the world

Motel close to the marina

A nice motel with a little old style charm. A short stroll to the marina with an excellent cafe to dine at. Quiet surroundings and the room very comfortable and clean. Only downside was the shower was a large step up to get into and some minor repairs required to bathroom area, though all the amenities worked satisfactory. The staff are great to deal with. Will stay there again
