Under construction . Nicest people but a little disorganized
beautiful property and staff members, would definitely want to visit again.
Loved staying at the hacienda it was perfect for a family trip with my 3 year old.
My stay at Hacienda Xcanatun was phenomenal and exactly what I needed. The staff and the hospitality they provided exceeded my expectations plus the property is beautiful. I hope to return.
The property is a hidden gem! Beautiful and extremely good service Hopefully we’ll go back soon
One of the best in over 40 years professional trav
Stunning. Brilliant. One of the best hotel stays EVER. I do well over 30 nights a year and have done for decades. One of my all time favourite stays. Great even exceptional staff. Absolutely beautiful property, gorgeous grounds and gardens. Fabulous pool. You will not regret staying here.
So lovely and beautiful
For a 5 star hotel this was a very disappointing experience. The service was extremely poor. It’s as if the staff has had no professional training. From not setting the table correctly, to beds badly made. We had to rectify alarmist everything Ali g the way and this is not what one should have to pay such a high price for. Also there was construction that was only announced the day before we arrived. The restaurant was overrated. The only really pleasant thing about the hotel was the room and the quality of the mattress.Overall though not worth the price.
Couple Retreat.
Elegant. Quiet. Some construction now but still lovely. Room was exceptional. Food was really good.
Very friendly service is excellent
Beautiful grounds! Hotel is not in a nice area, but as soon as you enter is a different story. Far from city center and Paseo de Montejo. Please don’t be naive and use your safe box, even if you go to the pool, money got taken from my purse when I left it in the room and not on the safe. Don’t think because is a nice Hotel nothing will happen. It happened. Be alert.
Great property, but company will disclose to you that it’s under contruction, 1 day before check in, so you won’t have time to cancel. Very unethical. Construction is extremely loud all day long. They are building new apartments and it really hurts the experience
The hacienda style is beautiful
This is a beautiful and well maintained property. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The staff could not be any nicer and more helpful. They were a delight. The restaurant was superb. It’s hard to recommend Hacienda Xcanatun enough.
Amazing service!!!
Excellent service. Rooms were very nice. Food was delicious.Definitely a fantastic hotel.
Great plce and service
This was first class service where every detailed was curated for the ultimate guest experience. Well done!
Lovely Hacienda with amazing staff. Rooms are very spacious, the pool is beautiful and dining is delicious
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved the property it’s really beautiful our room was perfect. We had a plunge pool in the patio so it was perfect. We truly enjoyed our one night stay wish I would have booked for longer. The service at the restaurant was really nice. The server was really attentive and friendly. We did see a tarantula and snake but it’s part of the jungle. They did remove the tarantula that was on the stairs. It’s a gorgeous hacienda and not far from the city. Highly recommended this place it’s worth visiting. It’s really clean and the experience of the jungle is very nice.
Amazing
We had the privilege of staying at this hotel, but unfortunately, we were only able to stay for one night. If we had had more time, we would have stayed at least a week. The property is truly breathtaking, a real haven of beauty and serenity. Every detail is meticulously cared for with rare perfection, and the atmosphere is simply enchanting. The staff is also amazing, attentive, and exceptionally kind, making our stay absolutely unforgettable. I sincerely hope to return and extend this memorable experience. A big thank you to Anette for her exceptional service.
If you’re considering it, just book it. This place is wonderful. We booked a trip to Mérida to explore the sights and to consider it as an expat community. Unfortunately, we did less exploring than planned because the hotel, staff and grounds are perfect. The restaurant, Casa de Piedra, is nice. They have great lattes and cappuccinos, regional cuisine (try the huitlacoche crepes and the poc chuc), and some tasty Italian/seafood dishes. We spent most of our days in the Olympic-sized swimming pool and the surrounding cabanas. Leslie at the Lol-Ha bar made sure we had everything we needed from towels, to margaritas, to suggestions of off-site activities. Our room had its own private plunge pool and patio, which was also an excellent way to unwind. The grounds are meticulously maintained and make you feel as though you’re in the tropics. If you walk the paths, you may just see a tamandua (cute anteater) in the trees. We were warned of construction noise before arrival. I was worried. Honestly, it was negligible. All staff were helpful and friendly. We did not cross paths with anyone without a hello and good morning, etc. We do not speak Spanish and it was no problem whatsoever. Everyone was more than accommodating. Antonio, Elias, Leslie, Miguel, Tony, and both Victors really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The worst part was leaving. I would not hesitate to stay at Hacienda Xcanatun in the future. Again, if you’re considering it, book it.
The attention of the service staff.
Very modern rooms and nice landscaping
Beautiful old hacienda and new rooms
Staff was very attentive at every level our comfort was there number 1 priority.
the quiet and singing birds were great the staff was amazing room was very clean shower was large bed wonderful was a little far from central downtown and airport
As soon as we arrived at the property I arrived with my two friends and the manager Annette checked us in and did not mention that I had booked only 1 adult and it would be extra charge for my other two friends to stay. The guy that helped us with our luggage to the room was very nice and drove us with our bags to our room. He explained how to work the lights and described all the extras in the room. Later that evening we kept hearing a clicking sound like a swinging hammock. The concierge came to the room and realized it was the lamps and was able to fix them from swinging. The next day I arrived at the pool at 3:00 and went to order a drink I wanted a spicy mocktail and he said he didn’t not have anything spicy available. So I ordered a daiquiri and he mentioned that the pool service would be closing at 5 even thought they are supposed to be open until 8, while at the pool I decided to walk to the spa before the closed around 3:30 to see about making a spa appointment. On the way the bartender chased me down to sign my tab even though I was coming back. When I arrived at the spa the said they didn’t have anything available and would be closing the following day due to the hurricane that was not supposed to hit until the day after. I went back to the pool at 4:50 and it looked like they were closing the bar up but, about 1 hour later another couple came and the bartender was bring them drinks after 5. The rooms are hot you can’t put the air lower than 24C the front desk
This is a beautiful property and although we received an upgrade, we liked our original room better since it was an original Hacienda style room
We don’t usually complain but considering the cost of this place and the fact that it’s supposed to be a luxury hotel I have to explain. Firstly the staff are excellent and very attentive and the rooms are beautiful. The main pool is very nice but the sun bed covers are really dirty, the second pool is very dirty and not even usable. We were seated indoors next to a “window” for dinner but it was just a curtain covering while construction workers worked with machinery right next to our table, it was very noisy and strange, and it was also Sunday. We ordered the guacamole, caprese salad and NY steak tacos and everything was overly salty. The tacos were full of grizzle and fat and we had a hard time finding any meat in them. We finally decided to make a comment about this one thing and they did take it off the bill. I was also eaten by mosquitoes the whole way through dinner, maybe because of the curtain instead of a window because of construction, but when I asked the front desk for mosquito repellent they sent us down the street to a store. We’ve stayed in many luxury and 5 star hotels and this just doesn’t make the cut considering the prices they charge, you just don’t get the experience. In our opinion it’s way overpriced and the food is not great at all.
They hebe preserved in very good condition this historic place , the swimming pool is outstanding
We absolutely loved the property. The staff is attentive and professional. The hacienda style renovation was impecable you truly feel your are living in a bygone era. The restaurant “Casa de Piedra” is a must visit if you are foodie.
We had a great time and definitely will be back!
Very friendly staff. Excellent pool.
We eat breakfast only once. We were the only table and the service was very bad, the food when it finally arrived was terrible. Also very over priced.
What a wonderful place to stay! The staff and environment give a welcoming experience where we felt like we are in a paradise.
Stayed here for 4 nights with two young children. The governor suite was fantastic. The service, especially from the doormen was exceptional. Breakfast was good, although we felt the food for dinner was not to our taste. The swimming pool area was exceptional. Overall, a place that I would highly recommend.
Beautiful hotel! Amazing staff!!
It a beautiful property with excellent service and food. Great place to stay.
Fabulously fantastic place to stay. From start to finish the entire experience was impeccable. I particularly enjoyed the Olympic length pool, the outdoor patio (complete with hammock) and the additional outdoor shower in the room. The grounds are paradise-esque, with quaint creatures to admire at ground level and in the skies . The dining options were also sublime. It is 30 mins drive from the main Merida square, however it is a beautiful oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Worth visiting to admire the grounds of the Hacienda, even if just for a day trip.
Beautiful setting. Nice pools. Good food and overall good service.
The property was amazing. The old and new buildings created a great charming atmosphere while also bringing contemporary vibes. It was beautiful. The staff was great too!
The staff and accommodations were amazing, but the restaurant is 2/10 in quality.
Awesome property. They thought of every detail.
Excellent service and personal attention.
Great hotel, amazing customer service and delicious food!!
Excelente para familias.
Very beautiful property, we stayed in a suite and it was spacious and beautifully decorated with attention to every detail, the staff was knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. The location wasn’t the best but it’s a 20-30 min cab ride from Merida which is a city most definitely worth visiting, I look forward to going back.
Gorgeous Stay
Beautiful accommodations and wonderful service. I would highly recommend the hacienda!
Beautiful property and thr staff was very helpful and attend to all our needs.
Staff was absolutely terrific the restaurant was fabulous and the large pool surprising
Would go back, but them flies
Service was outstanding, the rooms were clean and comfortable, food was great. Sadly my one major objection is the flies at the pool bar and outdoor restaurants. In a number of occasions we had them fall in our drinks (a total waste) The number of flies can turn the most tolerant person off. I’d love to go back if it wasn’t because of the flies.
Hidden gem
Hacienda Xcanatún is a “Hidden gem”. Located at the outskirts of Merida, is an easy drive to paseo Montejo (15 minutes) or to Progreso ( 15 minutes). The rooms are spacious and the service incredible. Very good restaurant. The only negative: the streets leading to the area are not well maintained. Some houses need help with painting / restoration. I am aware the Xcanatún foundation is trying to help. Hopefully the surrounding neighborhood can benefit from tourism as well.
The stay in this place was spectacular!!! It is a place to enjoy its beauty and nature. The treatment and friendliness of the staff is exceptional! All very professional!!!
Big and beautiful property!!
Beautiful design of hotel. Restaurant is a work in progress from service perspective - nice team but training and adequate staffing lacking.
The customer service / experience is world class !
Cute Hotel in an old farm. Just opened a new swimming pool
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 5-stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
World-class personalized hospitality by the Banyan Tree consortium. The lemongrass scent in the suite reminded us of our many stays in Thailand. We hope that all their staff would soon be free of face masks. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 5-stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A work of art! The place is given special attention of restoration to the finest materials and ambiance with lighting details in every room!
Criaturas curiosas.
The Hacienda is beautiful, the room was amazing and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the place. Highly recommended.
Total relaxation and comfort
This is our go to place for excellent food and incredible service. Forest atmosphere is soothing and the new chef and food and beverage manager are making improvements that show to us old timers.
Great hotel on the outskirts of the city
Everything was great. Service is amazing, they really did an extra effort everytime. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, they have a great terrace with a nice whirlpool and view to the gardens. The restaurant is excelent, everyhting was so well prepared. Make sure you have a car, or access to transportation, since the hotel is 20 to 30 minutes form the city center. Hope to get back soon.
Ñeee
Well we have a lot of issues in our stay I already let the manager know and she give me a 50% in one of the massages that was nice. But I’m a traveler and I’m going to be honest they are remodeling so… know honestly is not a good time to stay in this hotel.
Great staff and service
Great service and amazing staff! That’s the best part of the hotel definitely. The rooms are in good shape. The restaurant is very nice too. They have to improve the spa installations and heat the pools. They are missing a gym or a place to workout.
One of the best if not the best
Wonderfully service. Beautifully place Very friendly staff
Yes..this property is a five star accommodation. The staff was friendly and always greeted us. I do have a couple of issues though…firstly we did pay a lot to stay here. And did receive coffee pods for our room (4) , which we used. The next day the maid cleaned the room and only left 2 pods. I went to the office and asked for 4 pods as we like cafe in the morning and as well in the afternoon. They stated would be a charge for the coffee pods..which I thought was tacky. Secondly we had to wait nearly a hour for our breakfast on Sunday morning. We did receive cafe and fruit with bread but our eggs took a long time. And were cold when we finally received them. The property is beautiful. And sorry to state what occurred.
I had the pleasure to stay at Hacienda Xcanatun By Angsana during the month of September 2021 with my wife. It was our 27th anniversary trip abd I truly wanted to find a special place for my wife to celebrate this milestone. Well we found it here in Mexico on this amazing Hacienda. We had a large comfortable room on the second level. The grounds of the Hacienda are immaculate and was very pleasing to my wife dice she loves tropical looking plants. We had a late afternoon lunch and breakfast at the havienda’s restaurant and it’s was very good. But the best part for us was the spacious comfortable room, bathroom, bed and balconies. We were thrilled! We have stayed at many places but this Hacienda so far is the best!
A stunning hacienda close to Merida. The grounds are breathtaking, the rooms are exactly as pictured and some of the staff are outstanding. Antonio, the bellhop, definitely helped to make our stay exceptional as did the F&B manager in the restaurant (sorry I don't recall your name). It is a small boutique hotel and was not busy while we were there. It is very quiet and is nice to sit on the patio surrounded by beautiful trees. We stayed in a Sayab Master Suite and I would recommend it although the patios are not so private. I would recommend the hotel but have some reservations about recommending the restaurant due to poor service which is why I gave this only 4 stars.
Great service, awesome place
Very easy to check-in, very attentive staff
Amazing hacienda with beautiful remodeled extra large rooms. We loved Hacienda Xcanatun. The convenience of its location in Merida makes it extra special. We would recommended to anyone.
Amazing Hacienda!
Amazing! So glad we decided to spent a couple of days in this incredible hacienda. First class cuisine and service! You get a great taste of the history of this country. Amazing wifi too!
Everything was perfect!!
This place is exquisite. Having stayed in the city for 2 weeks, this visit was a needed escape. I came for one night but wish I booked for 2 nights minimum. this was my first stay at a hacienda so I wasn't sure what to expect. The stage is set during your registration in the reception...tranquil with a refreshing welcome drink. Checkout was seamless. My Mayab suite was heavenly. The mood is set immediately with the incense burning in the room upon arrival as well as the oil diffuser. It had the exact amenities I needed: a steamer, electric tea kettle and Nespresso machine!!! They had bottles of water on the bar AND in the bathroom. I've stayed at about 10 hotels in Merida, and they are the 1st to do that . The bed was so comfortable, it was the most peaceful sleep I had during my stay in Merida. Antonio, my attendant on the property was excellent. Though a little overzealous at times, he understands hospitality and gave great service. he made sure I had everything I needed at all times. Willi at the restaurant was great as well. My rate included breakfast, which makes all of the difference. there was a lot of variety for breakfast. Casa de piedra has THEE best French toast in Merida. The only complaint I have are the rocky walkways from the rooms to the main reception building. they are uneven and very slippery. even with flat leather sandals, I almost slipped multiple times.
Amazing property and staff. The room we were in was beautiful, spacious and truly luxurious. Super experience, highly recommend and would love to go back! Thank you!
Amazing experience and hospitality. I would definitely go stay here again.
Beautiful Hacienda great service.
Beautiful Hacienda located outside Merida. It has the convenience of being a property outside the city but very close to Progreso and Merida. Staff is very friendly and all the facilities are in perfect condition and top notch.
Yhe rooms are good Service and food is awfull The pricing not so good In general the staff service is the worse
Excelente propiedad, falta mejorar desayunos
Excelente hotel!
Excelente recepción por parte de Jean!

Absolutely loved this property. The staff is excellent, they all know your name immediately and no matter who is near you they are asking if we need anything and are there to assist in anyway. The property is quiet and beautiful.
