Outstanding views. Comfortable and relaxing. Would go back again.

The pool was immaculate and beautiful. The breakfast was great and tasty every morning with delicious coffee. The view from the pool was great, overlooked downtown Esperanza from a distance and the ocean. Our room was cozy and maintained. The bed was one of the best hotel beds we have ever slept on. And no tvs, helped with regaining a little inner peace. Staff was helpful anytime needed.

I *loved* this property and am already wanting to return! It’s so close to the bars in Esperanza, very near the beautiful beaches and where the bioluminescent tours take off from. The staff was so lovely and I really enjoyed having the “honor bar” option as Vieques is a very quiet island without many food options. So convenient to just grab what you need for the beach- they even have honor system for basic meds, snorkel gear, bug spray, sunscreen, beach chairs, etc! The room was beautiful with a little balcony to enjoy the view.

Oh my god. What a cute hotel! It seems a lot smaller than what it is. Parking is literally right in front of the hotel. Breakfast was ABSOLUTELY delicious it is made to order not a buffet style type of deal. Upon arrival we were given a physical tour of the property not just a short/fast explanation you get elsewhere. Pool is perfect size and has a gorgeous view! Please protect this place by all means! It looks EXACTLy like the picture (vintagey) but it is important to know it is not dingey in anyway. This property was cleaner than MOST hotels anywhere. Sidenote: If you are staying in vieques rent a car. We rented a golfcart which was cool for one night but the island is not as small as you may think.

Very nice Hotel, Quiet and not too close to the "Malecon" where the bars and restaurants are. Easy to get there and the staff was very friendly. Would go back again.

We really enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was also very good.

Perfect experience, service, facilities, and cleanliness. The breakfast was excellent, room was spacious, and we loved the honor system with all the amenities and extras. Excellent location, very nice place and the pool seemed perfect. I really liked the library area and the service, also the availability to rent chairs, umbrellas and other things for the beach was great. The breakfast was included and very good.

We had an amazing stay. Everyone was very helpful. The beaches nearby are beautiful. They offer a lot of nice touches (breakfast included, self serve snack and drink bar, beach equipment for rent, cooler and ice, packed lunches, laundry service). We had a situation with the ferry and Olga was very helpful. Our room was spotless and smelled wonderful. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful hotel

The hotel is so beautiful. Breakfast in the morning is included. The bed was fantastic. The staff is nice and helpful. Renting a golf cart is a must as its outside of town. We had some flying ants in the room but we dealt with it.

The hospitality at Hacienda Tamarindo is excellent. They are always available to answer any questions about the Hacienda or the island. The breakfast is unbeatable, and I loved the lunches that they provide for a small fee. Our lunch was available every day that we ordered it by 9 am. We were able to grab our lunch and spend our day exploring the island without having to worry about meals. The Hacienda is quiet and is a place of serenity.

Perfect!

We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. Perfect place to stay on Vieques. Wonderful location near everything in Esperanza, beautiful view, lovely pool and grounds, great amenities. We cant wait to come back!

Friendly staff and great experience!

Our stay at the hotel Tamarindo was delightful. We were greeted and offered a tour of the facilities just after depositing our bags in our charming room. Breakfasts each day were varied and quite good. The smallness of the inn felt intimate - complete with honour bar system, beach chairs and umbrellas, small seating areas as well as the pol - which we unfortunately did not get to in till our last evening. All in all. Beds comfie, friendly, clean, great parking and well located if you have a car - which they arranged for us so our arrival and car pick up was seamless Heartily recommend this place. I will return.

I want to say that this property was very good. The hospitality was lovely all around. There are beach towels and chairs to use for free or rent. There is a snack bar. The room A/C is solid. Also, they have a menu for breakfast everyday. However, understand this is not a sterile, pre-fab city hotel. This is more like a Bed & Breakfast on a remote island, and that's what you should expect. Puerto Rico is hot, humid and has flying bugs/mosquitos, so your powerful room A/C and bug spray will become your friends. Also, go to sleep at a reasonable hour because there are roosters all through Vieques and they crow very early. All of this ambiance and environment is very much worth getting away from the grind, crowdedness, and smog of a big city, but just be ready for that difference. Within these parameters I think the staff did a great job of making me feel welcome and in professional hands. I also thank the staff for the delicious breakfast everyday and reasonably priced snacks.

Incredible place

The perfect adult only hotel!

Very beautiful hotel. The views were awesome. Very to places to eat and drink. Short drive to some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in the world. The beds are really softand comfortable. The pool is open 24/7, but no worries only like 10 rooms on property it was very easy to be alone inthe pool. The free breakfast is legit cooked to order (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, may fresh fruit juices). The property really has everything you could need abd the service is superb. You will enjoy yourself.

Hacienda Tamarindo is a beautiful property in Isla Vieques. Very nicely located on the south west shore of the island. The included hot breakfast was amazingly well done every day and the room was absolutely spectacular.

My wife and I really enjoyed this property. It is quiet, pristine and the perfect place to unplug and decompress. It was our first time in Vieques, and if we ever go back, this hotel would be my first choice.

Photos are not representative of the property. Very limited views and most rooms do not have a balcony even though the listing shows a photo of a balcony. Not only that, but the is hotel engages in extremely illegal and deceptive marketing disclosure practices. No where on this listing does it say that there will be additional hotel resort fees charged even though upon Checking out to pay for the booking it says all fees and taxes are included. Once you get to the hotel, they’ll blackmail you into paying illegally undisclosed fees otherwise you will not be able to check in in a foreign country. They will claim that it’s because Expedia does not allow them to add the resort fees but that is a lie because the next hotel we stayed at with Expedia disclosed on their listing their additional resort fees to be paid upon check in. Hacienda tamarindo is Extremely unethical and shady. Avoid at all costs

Great but not perfect

This is a great place to stay. Been here several times. But no TV? Really? Still? And no wifi on rooms? Only on common areas. It is time you move out of the middle ages.

One of the best properties on the island! The trade winds were amazing. The 200 year old tree growing in the atrium was awe inspiring. The views were incredible and the staff was extremely responsive, friendly and helpful. Five stars for sure!

We enjoyed being in a very nice unique villa with the most delicious breakfast served on a beautiful terrace. There is everything you need for the beach, they will even pack you a lunch if you request it the night before! The bed was very comfortable and our room was very spacious. The price was right for this place. Very nice!

The property and location are gorgeous. Breakfasts were generous. It was clean and everyone was very friendly. It is definitely important to have a vehicle on Vieques and especially if you stay at Hacienda Tamarindo. It is a very special little spot and so quiet (other that the roosters) which are part of the charm of the Island!

Quiet and off the main strip, but close enough to easily get there. Beautiful location. Large rooms, comfortable beds. Simple, but good breakfast.

Exquisite hotel, feels like a private guest home. Breakfast is divine with a different daily special, and the staff could not be more gracious. The hotel Decor is beyond charming, down to every last detail. Would stay here again on my next trip to Vieques.

The views was beautiful, but the owners was not friendly. And they also had a dog running around their property & stray cats.

Awesome place to stay

I had an awesome time staying at Hacienda Tamarindo. Its closer to all the major places to eat near Esperanza, which is on the other side of the Vieques Island. The place was clean and had all facilities

Wonderful small hotel in quiet area with amazing ocean view, nice pool and delicious breakfast. We loved the small library, the daily fresh beach towels, and the honor system bar. We'll be back!!

The room was clean, breakfast was fine (nothing fancy, but overall ok diner like food). There is a 10% resort fee to pay on arrival, just another way to trick you into believing the room is cheaper than it is, which is both dishonest and shameful.

This place is absolutely amazing. Wish we stayed longer.

Magical stay

Wow. Simply wow. What a beautiful island. The biobay was off the charts! The Hacienda thought of everything from a great breakfast to a equipment hut to picnic lunch if you want. They could not have not been nicer. Just a delight. We will come back!

Perfectly unpretentious, Amazingly Beautiful

Hacienda Tamarindo was amazing. Remember what Vieques is and is not. It is not a pretentious, glamorous, all-inclusive, douche mecca. It is a charming, beautiful, and natural place to find culture and even some solitude. If a few bugs are unacceptable to you, don't go to Vieques. Hacienda Tamarindo perfectly reflected the values of the island. The Deluxe Caribean view room (#1) was romantic, a touch rustic, and incredibly beautiful. It's not right on the beach, but beach hopping all around the island with a golf cart was the most fun of the trip.

This is a gorgeous property with amazing views, beautifully appointed rooms, and a stellar breakfast, but what really stood out was the amazing service! We were only in town for one day, and with it being Thanksgiving, all the rental car companies were closed or booked up. Taxis are few and far between on the island, and getting through to schedule one was difficult to say the least. Marya helped us to arrange transportation, and when we couldn't get a taxi to our Thanksgiving dinner, even stepped in to drive us there herself. What a great experience! We'll be back.

Great spot

Stay was amazing. The decorations are awesome. Everywhere you look there is something to see, every space is given great detail. The pool is very nice, the library is a great touch. The bar and snacks come in handy if you’re up late and don’t want to leave the hotel. All around great stay, will stay there again if I travel there again.

Cozy place.

Great place because of service ice...owners are right there. Daily breakfast a real treat. Rooms are being fixed a bit as windowset in mosquitos, ut .y deep woods worked. Would recommend.

Rented a jeep and stayed here for 2 nights on Vieques. It is a beautiful location, but we did use the complimentary can of Raid a few times on ants in our room. It is true that there is not a refrigerator or TV in the room, however there is an ice machine and the room has a cooler, and there is no need for TV on Vieques! Free hot breakfast, served to-order, was a fabulous unexpected bonus for us. We are sure to visit again some time!

A charming, intimate, family-owned and -run inn on a hill overlooking the ocean and Esperanza harbor, Hacienda Tamarindo has an old-world vibe without feeling tired. Owners Linda and Burr, who usually are around during the fabulous made-to-order breakfast on the patio, are super friendly and full of good advice about the island. There’s a lovely pool and a full honor bar so you can make a cocktail and watch the sun go down. Highly recommend this special gem!

This property was perfectly located, out of the noise and bustle of the Malecon (boardwalk), but easily accessible. High enough for beautiful sunsets, but easy access to beaches. Impeccably kept, friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts, the experience of the owners shows! They've thought of everything!

Exceptional!

This place is incredibly beautiful and what makes it even better is the owners that run the place. They are incredibly kind and hospitable and I felt more like a family member than a guest. My only regret is not staying there longer. They went out of their way to help me when I needed some help without even thinking about it. Everything about this place is exceptional, this is the first review I have ever written. And if that was not enough when I told some local people I met that I was staying here even they were somehow overly generous to me.

Great B and B. Beautiful place. Rooms nice and big and very clean. Service was excellent. It’s close to Esperanza, but not in it, so it’s quiet. It’s wonderful to sit at the pool overlooking the bay with horses in the foreground. Exceed my expectations. Vieques is amazing. More gorgeous pristine sparkling beaches than you can possibly visit in a week.

I just returned from a 3 night stay on Vieques at Hacienda Tamarindo. It's the perfect place to stay while visiting Vieques. The owners, Linda and Burr have gone out of their way to make sure your stay on Vieques go off without a hitch. Whatever you need, they have you covered. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms are immaculate, and the honor bar really makes life easy if you need a snack or cold beverage. I would recommend Hacienda Tamarindo to anyone and everyone!

The hotel is uniquely local. Vieques is quite the getaway from the typical tourist destination and this hotel embodied that. 100 and some yards from the beach. It has no televisions but a very charming library, a combination of business center and 'honor' bar. We were here for business and only one night so did'nt get to experience the pool, which looked great.

This has to be the best hotel in Vieques. It feels like you’re in Spain. The decor, views, and location are top-notch. You’re close to Esperanza but far back enough to feel removed. You’re walking distance to Black Sand Beach and you’re just across the street from Robin’s Bar (best mojitos on the island). Rooms are cozy and comfortable. Honor bar is well-stocked. Solid breakfast. I recommend renting a car because taxi service is spotty. But if you’re going to Vieques this is probably your best bet, and it’s really lovely.

This is a wonderful place to learn how to relax. Vieques is a quiet island of primarily beaches and delightful weather. Dining is limited. Hacienda Tamarindo is delightful but has some need for upgrading. Understably some of this is related to Hurricane Maria’s after effect. Mayra, the manager, is the perfect hostess: knowledgeable, friendly and a delight.

One of best places we've ever stayed...

My girlfriend and I had an absolutely amazing stay at Hacienda Tamarindo and would recommend it 100%! Set a 3 minute drive from Esperenza main strip (4-5 restaurants/bars), Hacienda Tamarindo is an amazing guest house with incredible views over the ocean and run with incredible attention to detail. With great amenities (a library, an honour bar, a couples hammock, a pool) a fantastic breakfast every morning (eggs however you like with hash browns) and incredible service the whole team made us feel incredibly welcome. An example of that exceptional service comes in the form of the packed lunch - just fill out a card in the evening and the next morning theres a full packed lunch (sandwiches, crisps, fruit, veg) waiting in a refrigerated backpack for you ready to take to the beach. Finally, our room was exceptional. With one of the biggest beds I've ever seen, directly overlooking the ocean, we have paid a lot more for a lot less in a lot of other places. Overall, the Hacienda Tamarindo is a very special place and we can't wait to visit again. Thanks so much for making our trip so special

Wonderful stay

I have now stayed at the Hacienda Tamarindo twice and have loved it both times. The back of the hotel has a spectacular view of the ocean as well as a nice warm pool that is open to guests 24/7. The made-to-order breakfast is also excellent. The rooms don't have televisions, which I believe is actually for the better as the island is so beautiful and really should be explored!
