Rude staff

The staff were extremely rude and because I called them on it would not let us check in. I have NEVER had an experience like this. They gave us second rate service from the get go because we used hotels.com!! All we wanted was to see if we could swap a one bed room for two beds. Their customer service was non existent. I’m making a formal complaint with hotels.com and also my credit card company. DO NOT STAY at this motel!!

Dirty plays. Rude stuff. Very unsatisfying.

The room was ok, no artwork on the walls and the “desk” was more like a ledge. Had a queen bed with 3 pillows and when we asked for an extra pillow they said they didn’t have any. Also was kind of noisy, heard the people walking around on the floor above us and heard each door around us slamming closed.

Our room was clean and well stocked. The room didnt have carpet, which I like because I can tell that the floor is clean. Also, the staff at this place is amazing. This was our second time staying there, and both times the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. I really appreciate them.

Nice place to stay

The front desk clerk was great super nice ans helpful with information of the city and our surroundings.very sweet and gave us a good room .out tv was not working at first they were quick to fix the issue.

I stay here often. Basic, clean, safe && convenient. How much time do you spend in a room in San Fran? Great value!

Location is PERFECT- It felt really safe and lots of food places within walking distance. Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and Japantown are a decent $7-12 Uber ride away. Big Bus tour (I recommend!) pick up/drop off point is a close walk away. Parking is limited but the couple days we took the car out, we were able to get a parking spot when we got back. We also arrived late (9pm) on the first night and there was parking available. Rooms are clean, housekeepers are friendly and location is pretty quiet (only could hear the occasional car speeding by). But the most memorable part of our stay was the front desk girl (I wish I got her name!!) She was SUPER friendly and really helpful with tips and must see places .... She made a lasting impression on us and are grateful to have had her as part of first trip to SF. I'll be sure to stay here for all future trips and recommend it to all my family and friends!

Great location

This is a wonderful, budget friendly place to stay for the night! It’s walking distance from so many things and the staff was incredible! We’re traveling with a u haul and trailer and they were kind enough to help us out with parking and accommodated everything we needed. 10/10 experience!!

The parking is limited. That is not good. If you want a parking place, you need luck.

Great experience

Lovely reception and clean rooms.

We travelled all across the US on this trip and we had very poor reception at most hotels but Greenwich Inn was excellent. The lady at reception was amazing and it was lovely to talk to her. She gave us tips and was very kind. We also had a nice room with enough towels for 3 of us which didn’t happen in any other hotel. I would stay again!

When you first arrive, it's right in on the intersection. Two properties across from each other. It's a small property but they have their own parking. It is first come first served. The hotel host were very friendly and gave us great tips. Warned us about the issued with vehicle break-ins, which is very common in San Francisco unfortunately. Appreciated that. Back to parking. It's free and while it is first come first serve, we were able to secure parking each night we stayed. Most properties charge for this. There are a lot of convenient stores and dinining options you can easily walk to. Our favorite was Mel's Diner. Really good food and affordable. The rooms were clean when we got in and they clean them unless you post dont disturb sign. Beds were ok. Not the most comfortable but decent. Would recommend.

At first I was skeptical about staying at Greenwich, but after arriving, I was impressed. Location was great. Bars and restaurants are all within walking distance. Manager was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again when I return back to San Francisco

Good place

it was very good. There should be better insulation between the walls as there was a lot of noise from the other rooms.

Very Safe & Great Location & Very Good & CleanRoom

Honestly, this was amazing value. Not only was the room decent and clean, but the location was very safe and fun.

Stayed in two motels on this street - this was the cleaner, newer, quieter one of the two. We got a room with a window facing the back alley, not the street side, which made it much quieter at night and felt more private - if you can ask for a back facing room in advance. The room itself was spacious and clean, with nice bed linen and towels, lots of soap, shampoo, lotion etc. The shower was nice and clean, with instantly hot water and good water pressure. The person at the front office was very nice and genuine, explaining at length how to keep ourselves and our belongings safe. The only downside was a loud A/C unit (that cooled the room well), but at a point I got used to it and it felt more like white noise. If that bothers you, it could easily be resolved by bringing earplugs. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Room was spotless shower lovely and hot and bed comfortable but the pillows were incredibly hard and uncomfortable. The noise from the street was expected but there was a constart humming noise throughout the day and night that was very noticeable when trying to sleep.

Very clean and comfortable. Also convenient to the starting line of the running race I was participating in. The staff was helpful too.

Nima at the front desk was so very helpful when questions were asked. She was very helpful with suggestions for using public transportation. I highly recommend the property!

Room did not have a working smoke alarm. This is the same condition as my last stay last year. No table lamp on the bed stand. Light in sink nook not working. Light in shower room very weak. Mattress broken down.

Perfect location/Great Inn

The location was perfect and I felt safe the whole time. Staff was attentive and friendly. Rooms were neat and clean. Definitely recommend

Conveniently located. Just spending the night after a show in SF. A very good value. It would be great if they had black out curtains instead of shutters as the night lights shine through.

Great stay at a boutique hotel with parking.

Clean and neat as a pin. Could use a little paint touch up. Bed was comfortable. Great location for a stay before our cruise. Plenty of things with in walking distance. Manager was awesome and super helpful.

This property is amazing

This is an old motel that has been nicely remodeled. Staff was courteous, room was clean, bed was comfortable. Easy walk to restaurants and views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

great value, convenient location, would stay again

Great price (booked 2 months in advance for a work trip.) and convenient location. Noisy in the evenings but to be expected with a motel-style location in a busy neighborhood. Shower water pressure was lacking - but that's an issue in most hotels. Nice owner. Safe location. Would stay again.

Very clean, recently renovated (nice!), all amenities, friendly and attentive staff, and great location with free parking.

Came in with no one at front desk and door locked, rang the bell a couple of times,as could not tell if it was actually working. The front desk manager came out telling me off and saying "once is enough". Might want to consider putting a sign outside door "ring only once".

This property is in an ideal location. We walked to Fisherman’s Wharf and around that beautiful area. Local buses are easily accessible as well Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend 😊

Family stay

Great location. Spacious room for San Francisco! Awesome shower. No trouble getting a park spot! Great value for SF.

Very disappointed the property would not hold our bags after checkout Sunday while we had lunch since our flights were at 4 pm. Have done so numerous times before at this property, and then denied with no warning and no other option other than to drag bag around. Will now have to find more accommodating accommodations in this neighborhood.

We where in San Francisco because wife was having surgery on her knee. The staff did not want to give me extra towels. Manager came by asking why i need so many towels. I dont understand what the problem was regardless. But wife had to shower night before surgery and day of surgery and needed towels on the floor so she could stay clean. Bed was very uncomfortable.

They were very friendly and the hotel was quite clean

We had a pleasant stay with a very accommodating and friendly management staff named Neehma and Manny. They spent time to direct us where to go to find places to eat close to the hotel and where and what bus to take. The room was clean with a good smell when we walked in and they gave us fresh towels the next day without asking them coz we were out and emptied the trash cans. The location was clean and felt safe and quite walking around at night heading to the hotel which is the important to us traveling as family.

Liked walking distance to a lot of restaurants and sights and a neighborhood convenience store across the street. Didn't like street sidewalk noise. Take room away from the street.

Wir hatten das Motel deshalb gewählt, weil es mit Frühstück ausgeschrieben wurde. Allerdings gab es kein Frühstück, sondern wie überall nur Kaffee.

Staff excellent and helpful! Rooms small but updated Shower was great I didn’t like the fact that the bathroom floor was not mopped and foot mat was not changed after our second night ( the floor was damped and had dirt on it from my tennis shoes and after returning from sightseeing you could tell the floor had not been mopped and the Matt was folded on the shower step) The walls are very thin and could here ppl in there rooms but otherwise it was a nice stay and would recommend!

Good location, bare minimum essentials.

Not in the best condition. Some stains on the wall, carpet coming apart when it met the tile, and the bathroom door couldn’t latch. No extra pillows or blankets. Had coffee makers and a fridge and microwave. Can’t beat the price and location though.

The bed has a huge red stain on the comforter that seeped through to the sheet underneath it that made me think it wasn't even washed. The room was loud even though I was on the second floor. I could hear my neighbors talking and slamming their door. The street was noisy and you could hear the horns from the ships. The soap dish has pieces of hair on it.

Super convenient parking and location. Staff is very nice.

The staff was very friendly. We had an issue with our room (cable didn't work) and we were able to switch rooms immediately with no fuss at all. Parking was good. Individually wrapped pastries for breakfast and coffee/juice was nice as well. Bed was comfy. The AC unit was very loud in the 2nd room but it wasn't a deal breaker.

Great Small, Remodeled Stay!

customer service was wonderful, room was small but very clean and nicely remodeled. good parking, location and good orange juice, coffee and packaged danish. was very happy overall and would definitely stay there again! thank you greenwich inn staff!

Mostly friendly staff; affordable, clean, noisy.

Totally our fault for not checking ahead of time to confirm, but this hotel will not let you drop bags ahead of check in. We arrived at 10:30 in the morning, check in wasn't until 3. We had to haul our bags around town all day in the rain. Also, this hotel is next to many bars and restaurants, and there are people walking by at all hours of the night, screaming to the top of their drunken lungs. Just FYI. Room was very small, carpet could use a shampoo, but bedding was clean and the room was otherwise clean and comfortable. There was no extra locking device on the door like at other hotels, so that was a little concerning since our room was ground level, steps from the main sidewalk.

My group was surprised at how clean and spacious the room was, especially for such a low price. All three of us completely unpacked for our 4-day stay and didn't have to live out of our suitcases because they had enough closet space. I'm glad I didn't bring my car though, parking seemed like a hassle. And the area is extremely convenient with a mart right across the street and lots of restaurants just around the corner, and SF is great when it comes to public transportation anyways. Walls were thin, but that was to be expected from a motel. And shout out to the lovely receptionist! I casually asked her for food recommendations, and she walked out of the office and started pointing out restaurants based on our group's dietary needs.

It was a good stay! We were in walking distance to a lot of cute shops, restaurants, etc. easy to jump on the buses or walk to fisherman’s wharf. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The only bad thing was that on our second night someone walked into our room. I was in the middle of changing and they walked right in with a room key that was given to them by the front desk. This is a HUGE invasion of privacy and left me completely shocked and uncomfortable the rest of the stay. The front desk said it was a system error and just brushed it off without even an apology. It was a bummer because we loved the staff and felt comfortable at the hotel but that was unacceptable

The room was dirty, they told me that the city didn’t want them to clean until guests leaves or on Thursday. We where there for a week and they just cleaned once. Very dirty rug.

First time here and I loved it. It is a very safe are to walk at night. About 17 minutes from pier 39. The room was more than what I expected as soon as I walked in it smelled clean and everything looked very modern. Room is small but perfect if you are staying for a night of two. Service was polite and welcoming. If you are choosing this place because of the breakfast I suggest you take your own goodies because they only provide coffee and a small bread. Luckily their is a Market literally a minute away, walking distance (in the corner). They have a small fridge and a microwave. Definitely coming back to this place when I visit San Francisco

Customer service was excellent. We also checked in late at the hotel and the Lady was excellent. She also give us some tips of nearby restaurants and the near by tourist locations.

Great place to stay, such a good deal tho! Pretty close to everything, a lot of restaurants close by, they have free parking, they included breakfast (juice, coffee and cakes). The room was excellent, very nice, comfortable and clean. The lady in the front seat was pretty friendly, check in/check out was easy. I would recommend this hotel!!

Manny and his wife were very sweet, friendly and very informative.. This was the ideal place to stay, many resturants and bars close to property. was very clean and comfortable beds. Enjoyed our stay very much. would highly recomend this property.

Hotel was in a great location within walking distance to several attractions including the golden gate and the palace of fine arts. There were many dining options in the area, and the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

Don’t come here for breakfast

One of the reasons we decided on Greenwich Inn was that breakfast was included in the price. We wanted to save a little money, by being able to have a decent breakfast. I was well aware that it would not be a 5 star meal. However, it left much to be desired. When we book the room, the details indicated breakfast for two. The hotel should be more specific & state they offer a continental breakfast. The reviews we viewed prior to booking, stated the breakfast offered was cereal, danishes etc. Which we were fine with. Well, it turns out breakfast here is an assortment of danishes - coffee creamer & sugar. That’s it. You need to purchase your own water in order to make coffee in your room. I get it - we are in Covid. However, breakfast bars, instant oatmeal, yogurt or something along those lines would have been sufficient & nice. The stay was ok. I don’t foresee staying here again.

This hotel is located in a great area full of wonderful places to eat, and within walking distance of most of San Francisco’s tourist attractions, with easy access to public transportation. The staff in the office were very friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and quiet.

Good Value, Very Clean, Friendly front desk staff

They do not allow early check-in but they did allow us to park in the lot early and walk around town. The room was very clean, although somewhat aged. We had a fridge and microwave. The coffee maker was broken. The shower was a walk-in and very large. The bed was comfy and the TV worked well and was large. The people outside were noisy but it got quiet around 11. Overall a good value.

The hotel is close to several restaurants, it has a convenience store across the block, also is close to several tourist attractions.

Well maintained

The property was clean, had a mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. The location was within walking distance to several restaurants. I liked that parking was included in the price of the room, however, parking is limited so we had to park early in the afternoon or lose a spot, but walking was not an issue since the neighborhood seemed safe. I would definitely stay here again.

It's a great place for the money and location. Beds were above average and that's maybe the best thing about this place. Linens were dirty when we arrived, and the management would not give us fresh linens--we had to wait until the following morning for fresh linens when the help arrived. TV and phone didn't work but the management was awesome about sending someone over fast to fix this. Great restaurants close by. Russian Hill not too far away and there are good restaurants there as well. It's close to bus stops. Free pastries in the morning were tasty. It was quiet. I would whole heartedly recommend this to families on a budget. It's much, much better than a Motel 6-type of room. If it were not for the refusal to provide us fresh linens, I would have rated it excellent instead of pleasing.

Very friendly and near everything. Hotel staff was super sweet. Had to pay to park a couple blocks away which was stressful (and expensive) in a strange city.
