Bad hotel bad stuff

The resort is not glamorous but it is really good value for money.

I like Green Village. My family and I have stayed lots of times and get welcomed back as if we are old family friends. The place is not posh, but it is cheap and cheerful.

Breakfast start late 8am. Promise start at 730am.

Pictures looks good but not good when see directly. Rooms facilities bad. Location is good.

The whole hotel was terrible. No wifi No Towel Toilet door broken no daily housekeeping Swiming pool is full of dry leaves door lock is broken after request olny they change toilet cannot flush. need to repair evertime Water heater shower head can not lock, so hold the hose for bath circumstances surrounding the hotel and facelites is not maintained. should be a negative rating. not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice hotel clise to beach

Good to travel with expedia. My family they all like to swim in Green Village swimming pool.

Avoide this facility

Arrived late, reception closed.. thank god, a nice uncle (a security guard I believe) led us to the room.. very unpleasant room.. checked out the next day.. cant get the refund, book the cheapeast one for 3 nights.. 2 nites drained... Avoide this hotel

Disappointing Experience

The room allotted to our family of 4 when we reached Langkawi was a tiny room with a double bed & a bunk bed. This was not the one which was shown on the website and booked by us.When we refused it we were allotted another room which was bigger in size but extremely bad in everything else. The AC hardly had any cooling effect, the mattresses were sagging and extremely uncomfortable to sleep on,water pressure in the shower was terribly low, the washbasin and bathroom would get clogged & even the flooring was cracked in many places. Wifi connectivity was poor in the room. The website shows its location as close to the beach. Actually the nearest public beach is more than a 30 minute walk away. On the positive side the staff were cordial and helpful in arranging sightseeing for us on 2 days and the buffet breakfast was also quite decent. However would not recommend this place to anyone.

Can be improved with cleanliness...

Major problem is mosquitos. Toilets were not so good. The pictures of rooms do not Match with original rooms

Great place ... awful breakfast

Lovely place, real island feel, pool cloudy but still ok to go in, breakfast terrible ... unless you like cold chicken nuggets, cold french fries, cold noodles and cold scrambled eggs ... then you'll be ok. I loved the place and the feel, it was just a shame about the breakfast

To far from beach

First i thing this place is nearest with the beach... but when i check in the place is just small chalet.. and no beach

STOLEN MONEY / VERY UNSAFE PLACE / SAVE YOURSELF

DURING OUR STAY THE HOTEL STAFF STOLE A LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FROM OUR LUGGAGE WHILE WE WERE NOT IN THE ROOM. AFTER THIS THE HOTEL STAFF DID NOT HELP AT ALL AND BLAMED US FOR LEAVING VALUABLE THINGS IN THE ROOM. THERE ARE NO SECURITY CAMERAS. POLICE DID NOT HELP. PICTURES LOOK 1000 TIMES BETTER THAN REALITY. THE PLACE IS HORRIBLE THERE ARE LIZARDS AND BUGS IN THE ROOMS THE BED SHEETS ARE DIRTY NO WIFI AND NO TV CABLE THE POOL IS VERY DIRTY AND CAN NOT BE USED WE BOOKED THIS ONLINE AND WE WERE THE ONLY TOURISTS. THE PLACE LOOKS ABANDONED

Closer to Beach & Unprofessional Staff

The hotel staff was unprofessional and the attitude was not too friendly. The manager was smoking while talking to us and then at 12.30am the water stopped, I appreciate the fact that it was out of their control but the staff was not too helpful.

It was an average hotel but the staff is nice.

The overall experience was good. Our stay is comfortable and the staff is very accommodating.

Convenient and good stay

Great location - tucked away in the less crazier part of cenang but still a fairly close (10 minute) walk to your main strips. Bathroom conditioning and water supply need work. Staff were awesome, overall very satisfied.

OK family room for the price you pay

fan not working in the first room , plus mold smell, I insist to change to another room. The second one is ok, spacious washroom, no mosquitos. Air conditioning is working, but looks like need service. Anyways, it is limited hotels in Langkawi that are equipped with bunk bed for the whole family. For the price you pay, it is ok for a couple of days.

They need to improve on check in procedures , friendly staff , regular housekeeping , on time breakfast and enough food for everyone.

Good value for money

Kids love the swing! Enjoyed playing Frisbee in the pool too. Nice environment, kampong style. Great value for money, with breakfast included. Many eateries nearby. But we booked a family room to accommodate all, only told upon arrival given 2 separate rooms. Also lady at reception promised will help us book a cab on our day of departure but this didn't happen. Got to seek help from a cook in the kitchen :( as reception not opened.

Walking distance to shopping area.

It is trouble to go to the lobby when it is raining heavily. The lighting around the room to the lobby is not so bright. The food over there is good and the suroounding is pleasant. The road to the hotel is uncomfortable when it is raining due to the muddy water on the surface.

Best place in Langkawi!

We had such an amazing time here! The staff and Manager were so accommodating and helpful. The breakfast is the best I've ever had at a hotel and it's included in the price which is so great. Stay here and you will not be disappointed!

Below average resort close to the beach

I booked a family room with 2 king size beds. However, during check-in we were given a smaller room with 1 king size bed and a double deck bed. After complaining, we were told that there is an issue with the original room. Thus, a wooden chalet room was provided instead as a replacement for a night while waiting for our room. Out of no choice, we had to take it but were disgusted at the condition of the room. It seems that there was no maintenance done for quite some time and last-minute housekeeping was carried out hastily to prepare our room. The bathroom wall and floor were still a bit dirty. Toiletries were incomplete. Cups, side tables and beds were still a bit dusty. 2 single size mattresses were given to compensate for the second king size bed. Mosquitoes can fly through the wooden floor gaps! The next day, we were given a new room but with 2 single beds instead of the second king size bed. The room is much cleaner and contain better toiletries. Unfortunately, the noise from the disco and bar were rather disturbing until past midnight due to the close proximity. There are only 3 local channels available on tv for viewing. Air-cond is fairly new and strong. This helps during the hot and dry weather. There is a pool table, table football and some books for reading at the reception area. Good for passing time while waiting for your room or transport. The route from the main road leading to the resort are uneven and full of potholes. This is made worse after a downpour.

Terrible experience

If u want to punish yourself then choose Booked for 3 nights for my family & kids but checked out within 15 mins without any returns.i was on the street at 7 pm to look for another hotel with my kids. It's my worst experience . Reason: 1. Mosquitos 2. Rooms with moulds 3. Aircon & plug points Just above kids bed. etc...

We were there with friends and had a great time. Green Village is good budget accommodation.

Nice stay.

It looked like the room had not been cleaned as there were footprints on the bathroom floor, no extra toilet paper etc. The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were hard as a rock. It was a nice size cabin and the staff were excellent. The pool was a waterfall pool and was beautiful. We spent a long time there in the pool. They could do a little more upkeep to the grounds and around the pool as there weren't many chairs. I would stay there again. They seemed to be working on beautifying the grounds with plants and flowers. The breakfast was fine but light, always cold when we arrived.

Not the best but Ok for a short stay.

We stayed at the chalet behind hotel, not the cleanest one as everywhere in the hotel. Wi-Fi was bad there. Buffet breakfast was not very wide but ok. Hotel was old but there was everything necessary, pool etc. About km from nice quiet beach where is retaurant and some sport activities. At this area they are building new hotels so some noice of that.Staff was friendly. Next to hotel you cn find restaurants, fuits market, cafes and some pubs.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I do not mind budget hotels. The hotel pictures are a prime example of false advertising as the hotel itself is very run down. The hotel rooms were inadequate - poor bed linen, lumpy pillows etc. The only satisfactory part was the bathroom. The pool was very small and the hotel grounds were not even green. It is not a resort of any kind. The whole hotel needs a complete renovation and the staff need training on how to manage a hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and it is certainly not three star - one star at the most!

holiday in the budget hotel

Hotel looks old, need more maintenance but is still ok for me. Swimming pool is great. But the worst thing for me is noise at night. Not sure from Bar in front of the hotel or somewhere else. Kind of annoying even though I could sleep since too tired for several activities in Langkawi. Staff is quite helpful (at least with me). Breakfast is also great.

Budget stay

Enjoyable. Cheaper. Friendly. The manager was very helpful as we arrive to hotel early n gave us to check in early. Breakfast even its limited choice but was delicious.

Stay at Green Village Langkawi Resort

The hotel is located near to the beach (a walk of around 15 minutes). One can find restaurant including Indians at a walkable distance. Our stay was good. However, the Wi-Fi was bit slow and one has to be careful about mosquitoes. The toilet was not cleaned on the last day of our stay and forgot to tell them before leaving as we are in a hurry. Also, I found the commode awkward. Also, the receptionists are helpful and good.

The location is located at Pantai Cenang which is a nice place to stay with affordable price. Easy to find eats and drinks also shopping around the area. Downfalls are the facilities of the resort are quite old and room a bit dusty, acceptable though. By the way, free breakfast in the morning is marvelous! If you're not so picky and look for budget stay at Pantai Cenang, this might be a choice for you.

"A stay to remember"

We had to change rooms 5 TIMES on our first day since check-in. The first and second room condition were filthy with lizards and lizard waste around the walls and there wasn't any fridge or TV set. The third room's bathroom was clogged and the heater was not working. We requested for another room and this time, right after switching on the lights, the electricity went off. Mounting with frustration, we requested to speak to the person in charge regarding our situation, but had to wait close to 20 minutes at the reception counter for assistance. Finally, we were offered a slightly better room but amenities were kept rather moderately. The one positive side of this place is that is situated among greenery from the landscape and about 100m from the pantai cenang stretch of restaurants and shop lots so its rather quite on bustling nights.

Only stayed one night, but the staff were helpful and pleasant, told us where to get some good food and where to shop for cheaper beer, we had to move more into town as we had a small child and no pushchair, otherwise we would have stayed here

Good value, nice enough place .

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it . The staff were very nice , the pool is nice and the breakfast not bad . For the money I thought it was a great place to stay . A quiet location only seven minutes to beach and ten to fifteen minutes from the busy Main Street .

Good place to stay

Peaceful environment. Sorrounded by trees. Breakfast was great, different menu everyday. Walking distance to beach, restaurants, car rental and others. if given another chance, we'll come back here.

Old but functioning.

The reception and staff were excellent and friendly. Overall, condition of the room was old and that goes for the appliances except for consumables. However, everything was functioning and working. Breakfast was quite alright, the personnel manning the breakfast area was very hardworking and efficient. There were no mosquitoes or pesky insects during our stay.

Nice & quiet stay

Good value for money. Pleasant stay in a nice small hôtel. Staff really helpfull.Perfect for kids from 4 to 10 years old ( swimming pool + outside games + baby foot ...). Would recommend.

Very disappointing

The website description and photos are very misleading.The hotel is in need of updating and maintenance. Breakfast was terrible, coffee came in the form of horrible instant coffee in a jar, didn't always have buffet breakfast. Management were dishonest and used various tactics to avoid sorting out problems. This should be one star.

Close to the beach, easy access to restaurants

Facilities in our room weren't exemplary, i.e. - the door needs servicing, our toilet door fell off, the pipes were always semi-clogged. Cleanliness was an issue too, but mainly in the toilet. The room was very big and spacious - we booked a room for 5, and our room can easily fit 10! The staff were friendly and kind. There was a pool table and foosball table. Breakfast buffet was complimentary. Our rates for this room is very affordable. There was a little community area in the middle of this 'village', with several decks, mini playground, a pool and a few shaded areas. There's also a bar. It's tricky to find, and the road that leads towards it definitely need some tending to, as there are huge potholes everywhere. But we enjoyed our stay overall.

Its rest and pleasure

First time staying around the beach area. A wonderful experience. Would like to thank Mr Joseph for his kind guidance. A very country side atmosphere. Staffs are very helpful and friendly.

Old aircond. Old mattress.

The aircond leaked. We need to shifted the bed to other side to avoid water poured onto bed. The mattress really old and we can't feel the softness.

I'm not staying in this hotel. Coz once I'm reached go n c the rooms and bathroom is not clean and terrible smell. Than find other hotel.

Good location. Close to beach and hawker centre.

Disappointing. Run down and tired looking. Breakfast lack choice. However, within walking distance to beach and restaurants. Beach is clean but with little facilities. Food very good but a little pricey. People of Langkawi were very friendly and helpful.

A lovely garden setting

We booked this hotel under the impression that we were going to get what we paid for (which isn't much) and it really didn't disappoint. As others have said, it's not a 5 star luxury resort so you shouldn't expect that, but the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, the included breakfast tasty and the pool and garden areas inviting. We went in the low season so it was fairly quiet but we liked it that way. It's not on the main strip near the beach and we found having a scooter to zip around on really helpful. There were restaurants nearby within walking distance and a good mini-mart just up the road. We would definitely revisit this hotel if we return to Langkawi again.

Good hotel to stay in

The room should be well lit up and since it is on ground floor open to insects, etc mesh needs to be provided in open areas. Wifi does not work in the rooms

Terrible Stay!!

Hotel is rated as a 3 star. Very misleading. I took pictures to send to Expedia. Falls filthy, pillows stained and very old, no remote control..only 3 channels. The lamp by the bed was filthy and did not work. The room was very dark. Breakfast was terrible..awful powdered coffee which I did not drink. It took me hours to talk tot the owner on the phone and all she did was deny everything and argue with me. I asked for a refund, she said no. Hotel picture features a small waterfall in the pool but it goes off for long period of time.

Great location. Cheap. Value

First impression of the exterior might not be good but while you staying, it is actually worth your money. Good Location, just a little walk to the beach and there are many restaurants, bars, tours (you also can book tour from the reception) and scooter/car rentals nearby. Buffet breakfast, pool, gym, games there is bar just beside. But if they have english tv channel and faster wifi network it's gonna be better

Nice hotel close to the beach.

Awesome place for young adults looking to club and have a good time. Located right next to sunba so close you can crawl back if your wasted. 10 minutes walk to cenang 7 minutes walk to parasailing and other water sports. 2nd time visiting green village, chances of it becoming a 3rd are quite high. breakfast is alright not all that great but reasonable for the price paid to go there.

The room is good,but the bed was basicly like used not comfort,the place is good like close to nature is good for budget vocation.

good ammenities,u will not get bored. staff are friendly and accomodating once u check-in. hope they improve in their tour reservation coz we have to contact other agents to make sure we have activities after we reached the place.

Good Stay

Good Homely comfort. The swimming pool though small was very kids friendly and kids do enjoy it. A bit far from Shopping area but good enough. Very homely and helpful stuff makes your stay memorable.

Good location

This hotel is situated on Pantai Tengah beach, within walking distance to the beach and restaurants etc. The hotel itself is situated within enclosed gardens with a small pool. I was disappointed in the condition of the hotel facilities this time, the pool was not clean and the water very dirty. The room was OK, but looking a little tired and worn out so could do with some renovation soon. My stay was somewhat disrupted by some very noisy neighbours, the rooms are very close and walls paper thin. Breakfast was terrible, just bread and some cold meats. Overall, a nice place to stay but you can find better in the same price range.

FAMILY VACATION

The hotel is a chalet concept and i loved the place. If you are a nature lover than this is the place you should go. It has a pool which all children loved swimming there. The cashew nut tree was full with cashew nuts. With the shed of the trees around the chalet it keeps the place cool even during the afternoon hours. The rooms were not that clean but upon informing the reception immediately all was taken care of. Breakfast they need to put a note if there is beef as in Malaysia there are some religion which cannot eat beef. Hope they will do something about it. Over all it is an excellent place for family and not far from beach around 10 minutes walk. Restaurant are all in walking distance and Cenang aroung 15 min walk. I don't know about you but I will visit here again. Thank you to all the staff for their excellent hospitality.

Nicest staff ever!

I stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights, as a break from hectic cities. All I did was lay by the pool, suntanned, and watched movies in my room. When the mini fridge wasn't working, I asked a cleaning girl and she immediately had a new one brought in. When I asked the front desk for movies, she brought me a dvd player and showed me a huge cabinet of movies to browse through. The breakfast changes but it is a good selection. The hotel has a few restaraunts and cafes near by, and about a 20 minute walk to Underwater world where the atms are, as well as duty free shopping. I had a fantastic time here, the staff was so warm and friendly, it was perfectly rejuvenating.

Friendly and helpful service. A bit outdated decor and simple bathroom but ok place to stay over if you don't plan to spend your day at the hotel.

Below expectations

The condition of the rooms was below expectations - very basic and old. A thorough refurbishment is needed. Hotel location was ok though. Unfortunately, there were guests who made the stay uncomfortable with their drinking and fighting at midnight.
