Overall we were happy with our one night's accommodation. Good location, being close to all major amenities, and found unit very clean. Could maybe do with some improved sound insulation, as snoring was quite audible from the neighboring room.

Spacious 1- bedroom with all kitchen amenities one can expect. Clean, new roomie bathroom. Very close to town and across the street from the lake (swimming area a few blocks away.) I would absolutely stay again.

True to the description. Welcoming staff. Room was clean and had what we needed. Not luxuries as it is a Motel, but pratical. We were comfortable and slept weel the two days we spent there. Location is super convenient, next to restaurants and shops, and accross the lake.

Nice and central to everything We have stayed here before. Bed was a bit soft for us and the couch was quite uncomfortable to lie on. Apart from that it was pretty good.

We recently stayed at the Great Lake Motel Taupo for three nights with our family, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the lake and close to great cafes, restaurants, and shops. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed, including a comfortable bed, modern amenities, and a functional kitchenette. It was the perfect setup for our family. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests and offering great local recommendations. Parking was convenient, and the overall atmosphere of the motel was warm and welcoming. We loved our stay and would highly recommend the Great Lake Motel Taupo to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Taupo. We’ll definitely be back!

Sort laundry out

The lication cannot be beat across from lake just off the restaurant strip. Spacious rooms I lost my necklace. They found. Gave back. Stored luggage a few hours

closeness to town plus in the lake front

Nice and clean tidy property. Thought it was abit strange that they have sky but only numerous sky sports channels. Not everybody enjoys sport watching. You might say we are on holiday why are we watching tv?? Its because the weather was atrocious. Otherwise friendly, clean, super close to town and enjoyed our stay.

Very impressed with how clean the room was. I have not seen a room that clean in a very long time in motels. Extra pillows and extra warm blankets were great. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The room was really cold to start with but heated up eventually. We appreciated the electric blanket. Good kitchen facilities with glassware, crockery etc Room was large and was centrally located

We chose it as we were arriving late afternoon and just wanted to walk into town for a meal. The motel suited our needs for just one night.

Well appointed unit, super comfy, great location, easy walk to restaurants and shopping and lake directly across the street.

The location of the property is great. The front desk staff are not transparent. Some basic things like water bottles were not available even if you wanted to pay for it..

This is the closest motel to Taupo CBD, easy walking, less than 5 mins. Motel rooms are extremely clean and also roomy. Will stay again!

Stayed one night at Great Lake motel. At check in the receptionist insisted we had not paid for the room yet. So we paid. Upon investigation I had paid previously. Now we had paid twice. I approached reception later she told me she would sort it out with her manager. 3 emails later with receipts attached, a phone call, no response or resolution. Extremely poor customer service and communication. The motels in a great location. This was just a very disappointing experience we had.

We loved this motel because it was so close to the cafes, shops and restaurants and the beautiful lake. It was also really roomy and quiet. The staff were really friendly too.

stumbled across this motel. A last minute decision. The motel couldnt be in a better location. You are able to walk everywhere from here. Whilst, right in the centre it was a very quiet motel. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Walls are very thin, could hear the guy next door snoring his head off. Other than that this property is great, good proximity to the CBD.

Over night stop on the way to Auckland, fitted our requirements. Good to be walking distance from restaurants and a nice stroll along the lake

We booked this accommodation very last minute as our alternative fell through. The owner of the property was extremely lovely, the room was impeccablely clean and the staff were super friendly..:and it was ridiculously close to town so win win! Will definitely be back.

We stayed at this motel because it had a high review rating and because of the price. It met all our expectations and it thoroughly deserves it's high rating.

A great motel. Very clean and in excellent condition. Location was fantastic as it was only about a 200 metre walk to the main restaurant area. Having the bedroom in a separate room was great. I've stayed in 100s of hotels and motels and this motel must have the most powerful shower that I have come across.
