Right in chinatown. Beautiful view and courteous staff. Decent room but bed size was downgraded. Overall good experience.
I like the location because we are at the heart of SFO
Despite the relatively good ratings, we came to a room that had blood and mystery stains on both the bedding and towels. The staff was quick to replace items. However, for a small room that costs over $250, we would have appreciated clean linen. The bed was also difficult to sleep on, like a board.
Great staff and price. Mattresses need updating and it’s a creaky building but I enjoyed seeing who stayed there. Lots of folks from around the globe!
Very clean hotel exelent
I like this hotel very much because very convenient
Great location, easy checkin. Room had all I needed.
great location
Clean comfortable stay in Chinatown
Impeccably clean, very pleasant and helpful staff, room appeared to be recently renovated with modern fixtures. Very centrally located - short walk to Bart.
Bedbugs!!!
Good
Great place to stay !
In Chinatown. Very lively and open during the day. Easy to access walking and plenty of shops and eateries.
I like that it’s near from most of the shopping areas and it’s near where the Hop on Hop off bus stops
Good location to be around Chinatown
1. Was questioned and almost turned away for my licensed service dog after i gave them legal documentation. 2. Room had bedbugs! Was bitten at least 10 times throughout the night. Rooms are very outdated. Felt like they havent been remodeled since the 90's.
Grant Plaza Hotel 2024 Chinese NY Parade visit
-Ideal location for the Chinese New Year celebration close but not in the thick of the noise and busyness. -The staff was not as friendly as most other hotels I stayed in, but they were there if you needed them. The room was very small but had everything you needed. The one bad, awful point was the bed mattress-- hardest I've ever slept on. OUCH -Overall, I gave it a good rating; I would stay there again when I revisit the San Francisco Chinatown area, but I would first check other hotels and price shops.
The desk clerks were very good at providing food recommendations.
A very nice hotel with affordable rates, in a pretty good location, and with very helpful staff.
I had a very pleasant experience. The staff were accommodating and nice. Many attractions are within walking distance or easy access to the various transportation options.
Property was perfect for our stay everything we wanted to see and do was in walking distance or public transportation. If i had one thing to complain about would be the bed it was so hard. But other than that was a great stay
I always stay there it's a wonderful place close to everything especially the BART and the muni and the ferry I have no problem with it this location
Great staff
英語では以下のように表現できます: The hotel front desk staff were all amazing. The coffee in the lobby was the best I’ve had anywhere in San Francisco—I’d love to have it again! The room was clean and stylish. The bathroom was spotless, and the toilet paper was excellent! I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
This hotel was a real bargain for San Francisco and very convenient for Nob Hill and The Masonic Hall for our concert. It was clean and very basic, but I would not hesitate to stay again.
Great Deal for a day in the city!
I am happy to report that I requested a soft bed and received one. Room 603 will be my requested room to stay in the future. The top floor is my favorite floor now. As you exit the elevator a stained glass roof is welcoming and has a small lounge. Entering the room with two double beds was roomier than my queen bedroom on the 3rd floor. The 6th floor has less noise and I loved that 12pm is checkout. Always check the signs for parking near hotel on street parking. New law in the city requires one car length on corners to view pedestrian crossing in the crosswalks. Also if you park on a Sunday when it's free parking - think again. They have street sweepers and at 3 am you will be ticketed electronically. So make sure you read the parking spaces and or use the list provided by the hotel to park in a parking garage near the hotel. Clean, quiet, and located near starbucks, stores, and short walk to Union Square. If your not in the room all day...this is all you need! I will be back.
I would avoid this place from now on.
Not so good. Very expensive for what the place offered.
Stayed for two nights from Canada. It was a decent spot. Older hotel but clean. Room was a decent size, small bathroom but functional. Staff was very friendly. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Union square is a short walk for shopping.
lp
It is a good hotel, but the WIFI was quite poor in the room.
The hotel is right next to the Gates of Chinatown, so that was an amazing plus. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check in was simple and fast. It was great.
Best things about this property were the location and the price. It was conveniently located downtown which made it easy to get to things. Beds were comfortable enough but rooms were small and there were no fridges (although staff allowed us to store medication in their fridge in the basement). If all you want is a place to lay your head and a bathroom, then it's fine.
It was good. Good stay, clean, all that. Will be back
It was a great spot right in the heart of Chinatown. Room as a little stuffy as no A/C. Bathroom area was great.
It was close to everything.
Very clean place in a great location
The beds were terrible, they are harder than a rock.
Always have a great time
Great place!
Well located in the financial district and near chinatown
Its not nice but good for one night no more because the bed is very bad
Always getting better. Love this place. I've been here a few times. Always friendly. I asked for room away from the traffic. The room was nice and warm, and had hot water. It is close to Bart and Market street. There are lots of food options (if you like to walk). I find the area safe and it's in Chinatown.
Overall Value is Good
My stay here was fine. I chose this hotel because it was one of the lowest prices (if not THE lowest) in the area, plus it was walking distance to my destination the day after I stayed here. This is pretty darn basic, though. I didn't read the full description of the hotel, but I was surprised there was not mini-frig (so my lunch for the following day was thrown away). Other than that, I really don't have complaints - just a simple, basic stay. I probably woudn't stay here again, though.
No A/C, wifi cut at night
The rooms are very small, I think that’s ok for the price you paying
Location, Location, but bed fell flat literally.
This property's staff was very kind, knowledgeable about parking options, and surrounding area things to do. The room was very clean, the bathroom was clean and well stocked. The noise at this location was not an issue for us. Heard two ambulances but nothing you wouldn't hear anywhere else in SF. Walking distance to Union Square and right next to a starbucks and many great eats. Now the only negative.....please invest in foam toppers for the beds. We felt like we were sleeping on a piece of plywood. For the price I understand and toughed it out for our one night stay. This property would crush it, if they had toppers.
Not clean
Great for the price
No sleep till brooklyn
Small room with thin walls. Heard the sound of running water all night and your neighbors. It was a form of water torture. Couldn’t get any sleep. People talking loudly outside the hotel could be easily heard and would wake you up every hour. Pillows were not comfortable at all and parking is 2 long blocks away.
Loved staying here
Great Value
The bad. The outside walls are thin, so noise will get in. You have no thermostat so the best way to regulate temperature is to open the window and let more noise in. That bathroom is a class "too small to fully open the shower door" ... slightly bigger than a cruise ship bathroom, I suppose. 😂 The good Everything was clean, the desk was nice with easy outlets, and the service at the front desk was excellent. The other guests were friendly, and there are a lot of great businesses nearby. It's not luxury, but It was a great experience for the price.
I love this place. It's been my home-away-from-home in San Francisco for some time now. But it just keeps getting better, with recently remodeled and refreshed rooms. Chinatown and Union Square are busy areas, of course. The Park Plaza Hotel is an oasis amidst it all, and the rooms are just a quick elevator ride away from the best that SF has to offer!
I have stayed here prior with no issues. Really like the location to China town. This time was different first problem the adjoining room door had no lock on it which is very concerning when traveling to big city with a 6 year old. I couldnt sleep allnight due to worrying about someone coming thru that door. Front desk assured me that the adjoining room was not rented out but even if it's not your door should lock for safety. Staff or anyone could of came into our room. No offer to switch us rooms or any discount nothing. So I didn't get much sleep worrying someone was going to come thru that door. Then there was someone outside screaming allnight.
No puedes controlar la temperatura de tu cuarto
Good
Worst smell
Nothing fancy or sparkly about this hotel. Good if you get a deal on it. Staff let us check in 2 hrs early which was awesome! And a great location in the middle of china town. But definitely out dated & the hardest bed I’ve ever slept on. A literal rock.
The room was so tiny and also so dirty. It smelled so bad and curtains had a lot of dust and stains on them. There was no ventilation in the bathroom and also there was no AC in the room. Hopefully I supposed to just spend one night there! I’ve been in several hotels in my life, even the cheapest one was better than this place!
good otl for one or two nights! clean room, clean linen. smoking is prohibited in the hotel - this is good. In general, if you need to be in San Fransisco in transit or to see the sights - the hotel is clean and good. you can always find disadvantages if you want. I recommend. we lived on the sixth floor.
coffee and ice service for free was good. The room was a little cold but we were not able to control the temperature from our room.
The hotel was really nice and the staff was friendly and helpful with the questions we had . They have a vending machine and ice machine on bottom floor . Aswell as a coffee machine and tea. The room did have a slight strange smell when we arrived but we just opened a window . I would stay here again
Easy check in.clean facility, walkable
No thermostat for temp control
Great and safe hotel to stay at San Francisco for the weekend trusted and number one just safe. Thank you guys very much I liked my stay.
It was a cozy room, but the beds!!! The beds were harder than a rock, very uncomfortable could not get goos rest after a long day of sightseeing! The beds were just god awful!! Please fix this!
Amazing views , Friendly people Drinks & Food on every corner
The hotel is old. Hear the upstairs room steps. Loud noises coming inside and outside the hotel.
Staff were flexible to my needs during my stay
Staff are always flexible to my needs.
Good location- delightful front desk- older hotel but clean and everything functional
Everything was Ok except someone had a small dog that kept barking early in the morning…noisy faucet when dispensing water
Was very satisfied clean rooms but no heater in room
Thank you
Good location, clean but the bed was extremely firm
It’s the only hotel I’ll stay at in SF. It’s safe, clean, affordable and in a great location. I’ve been staying there for 20 years. It’s perfect for a family, couple or lone traveler.
Great location
This is my third stay at Grant Plaza. I personally stay for staff and location. It is small, but location and staff make up for it. I will be returning for a fourth and fifth stay.
GREAT LOCATION (THE ONLY PLACE TO STAY A LITTLE BIAS)
I would stay again
Great Value
Nice, clean and ecnomic. In the center of things. I would stay again.
The staff of the hotel is great and accomodating. I had an issue with another guest being loud late hours of the night and Ben was so gracious taking care of it! Good location, decent price, clean, but the walls are paper thin and the rooms small!
Much better than expected for the price.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Having a desk open 24 hours was super convenient as we arrived late and and were very helpful with dining suggestions
I think this is a good hotel for the price.
Great grant
Perfect location and has everything you need for staying in city
It was great.
She upgraded our room and we were on the top floor overlooking Chinatown and the beautiful lanterns and it was fabulous
San Francisco hotels are expensive and I was there for Dreamforce, so everything was crazy expensive. Grant Plaza is good place to stay. It was clean and I felt safe. It is lacks air conditioning and the rooms are very small and spartan. Not a criticism, just facts. The staff was friendly and attentive. It's a two star hotel because of what it is. However, I found it clean and well run. Location is a block from Dragon Gate, making most everything downtown walkable.
Loved the location. The price was excellent and everything was within a 5-15 minute walk. The staff was very helpful, got me a room that faced away from the street so it was super quiet!
It’s a room. I’ll say that. Took 15 minutes for water to get remotely warm, basic room nothing more to it. No microwave or mini fridge. Had to go to lobby for ice (I was on six floor).
Great location in Chinatown, easy walk to piers at Fisherman's Wharf, close to trolley car stops, plenty of Ubers close by. Friendly staff. Compact and clean room, perfect for the single traveler or young couple. Shower worked well. Bed is not soft and night time has a lot of street noise and you have to leave the window open as these older buildings don't have A/C, but if you make yourself busy enough during the day, believe me you still sleep well! If you are fussy and want A/C and soft fluffy beds then be prepared to fork out $500 per night in San Francisco. The Grant Plaza is value with extra cash left to go to the baseball, cruise to Alcatraz, day trip to Yosemite etc!
People there were amazing. Great location a little noisy but only because no a/c so left windows cracked.
Although the pictures online were similar in person, it is evident that there is where and tear and upkeep needed, but more importantly, the bed literally had no padding and felt as if I was laying on a piece of plywood literally no cushion no bounce. I am willing to go without amenities as long as I get a good, preferably great sleep.
Y
The only good thing about this Hotel is the location. Bed was old and simple. Towels were dirty and the room was really small.Parking is 10 minutes walking at $36 PER night. The location is very convenient. Many restaurants and close ti Union Square.
I paid almost $200 for 1 night and they don't have AC. Worst hotel in SF.
No AC or Central air in rooms, tiny TV

Dirty, no A/C, no refrigerator, nothing at all. Very terrible hotel. I would not stay this place again. Room very tiny and smell.
