Being from the country, we did not enjoy the night noises, loud bikes, helicopters, neighbours TV noise, apart from that, an excellent location for closeness to our hospital appointment the next morning.Thanks team for a lovely clean unit.

Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Everyone made an effort to chat and help (traveled with infant). CBD about a 20 minute drive, depending on traffic, and highways easily accessible. Property was clean, everything worked, and the room was pleasant and comfortable.

Was okay for a 2night stay but wouldnt stay again room was run down and some things needed fixing.

Grange motel had the beds we needed and the kitchenette we wanted. It has a surprisingly high rating for a low budget place. I’m glad we stayed, would consider staying again, but it is a generous 3 star. Management was excellent and very helpful/friendly.

Customer service was very personal, arrived to some rice crackers and personalised note written on the table. Offers daily refreshments of towels and bed cleaning. The facilities and rooms were spotless, I'm thoroughly impressed and happy to have chosen this place to stay at! Easy access to public transport as well, as bus stop is just around the corner of the motel.

The property has inexpensive laundry facility and parking is easy. The owner was super nice. He shared with us the dining places locals go to and offered us free coffee while we were on the way out.

I booked it because closer to the event. People and their service is lovely.

A good motel for short stays.

This motel is in a great location close to Papatoetoe town center. The room was big and relatively clean. The kitchenette was well equipped with basic cooking utensils. The motel staff and owners were friendly and accommodative to our requests. I would consider this motel again during my next visit to South Auckland.

Amazing staff!

The staff at the Grange Hotel was incredibly helpful. We arrived early in the day, before our room was ready, but they let us park our rental car there, helped us Uber downtown and recommended places to go and local restaurants. Even fixed me a coffee while we were doing all of that. Finally, one of the staff wrote out a whole page of things to do in another town we were planning to visit in a few days. That was so much appreciated!

Easy to get to airport

We stayed here on our last night in New Zealand. We were a party of four, one couple and a couple of friends. The room was big with 2 bedrooms and a Smalls kitchen and living room and patio. It was clean and fitted out needs. It was only for a night, but if you needed a longer stay you could make use of the kitchenette. The owners were super sweet. It looked as if they were taking care of the place. It is dated and electical sockets needed help. It took two people to use a blow dryer, one to hold it in the socket and the other to use it.

Motel close to the airport

The room was quite spacious and very clean.. The shower was good and the beds were very comfortable. Good kitchen. Staff were very friendly. I had difficulty sleeping with the noise from the road nearby and the guests in the next room.

Accommodation could do with some revamping but perfectly clean and adequate for the price. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I stayed here twice in quick succession and both times entailed late arrivals due to scheduled late international flight arrivals. I informed the staff beforehand and they were there to greet me when I arrived. This was excellent service considering its accommodation is targeted primarily at the domestic travelling market I would think.

Excellent place and location

The room and amenities were excellent. The hotel staff lived in the main building that also served as the office. Overall it had a homely feel to it. It is located just minutes drive away from the shopping area. It is located on a quiet street just off of the busy main road.

Don't arrive late, rooms a mess

We arrived late and the guy working the desk wasn't the desk person. He might have been grounds crew or maintenance. I don't want to disparage him, he did fine considering checking people in didn't seem to be his actual job. They only staff the desk until a certain time so you either have to hope someone is nearby or someone is checking in right before you. The room we got smelled terrible as well. I half expected to get bed bugs from it.

When you've had a big day & you know it's the beginning of a long weekend or even if it's an overnighter, this is definitely the place to stay.

Old style motel. Clean and tidy. Reception person very nice and helpful but office not staffed so have to phone a mobile number and someone arrives 10 mins later. Overpriced for what it is. Prices have increased by over 50% here in the past 12 months.

Comfortable, bigger than normal motel room, with small fridge, toaster, kitchenette. Good location for airport. Without your own car, you can catch train to get to Auckland CBD, about 1.7 km walk to station. A few Asian restaurants within walking distance.

Was close to Mt Smart stadium for a concert.

The location of the Motel easy to find. Being next to the main road was noisy night & morning. Dated but comfortable, mostly clean and tidy.Friendly staff. Needing a couple of repairs in wardrobe and shower. Woolen blankets on bed, not so good for allergy sufferers. Was satisfactory for one night.

Excellent place to stay

Accommodation was excellent with very friendly staff. Quiet and safe location with easy travelling distance of Auckland City by road and rail. Definitely recommended.

Quiet & comfortable. Very clean. Looks deceiving from outside but surprisingly spacious inside. Gr8 staff.

Non smoking room stunk of smoke. Owners came and changed duvet and sprayed air freshener which made it better. No sink in the kitchenette so have to fill jug or wash dishes in bathroom.

We had so many problems: with the hot water, with the Internet, with the TV. It was very frustrating. They were fairly responsive in dealing with some of this and seem to be transitioning to new owners, so I wish them well. But our night there was not great.

Only stayed 1 night so not much to report. It was conveniently located for what I needed to do in Auckland. Surprisingly quiet for so close to a main road.

Not Close to City or Airport, but Fine for a Night

We booked this hotel because we liked that there was a bedroom as well as free parking. We also thought it was close to the airport, which was something that would have been helpful for our itinerary, but it did not end up being so close to the airport. It was also not so convenient for getting into central Auckland. There was a bus that stopped pretty close (I think the 471), but it took about 40 minutes to get to the Britomart station in Auckland. It was also pretty cold - there was one space heater in the room, and we realized when we came back late at night that the window would not close. Fortunately, we were able to get someone to fix the window pretty quickly. The staff was friendly, but when we arrived, the main person who needed to be there to check us in was not there, and there wasn't anyone else who had access to our information. All in all, it was fine for a one night stay, but it did not really serve the purpose we had hoped. If you're looking to be near The Grange Golf Club, it's right across the street!

south Aucklands best.

The motel was clean and comfortable in a tidy location. On the main road so could hear some traffic mainly at night but not too loud. Close to the airport, malls and food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room service could do with some improvement, they did not replace things that had been used,eg milk, toilet paper, hot chocolate sachets. I had to ask at the office for these things. Apart from that, I'd return to stay there quite happily.

Small hotel - with good size rooms

The service was excellent, and the rooms were good, It could do with a better room heater and too far away from the shops unless you had a car. But if you had a car then it is great.

I stayed on 2 occasions because of early check in at the airport and late arrival. The room was clean and had a warm feel about it. Will stay there again.

My room was clean and comfortable, but I found the staff very unhelpful. I arrived in the evening. When asked where I could have dinner, reply was 'I don't know'. Next morning when I asked where to have breakfast, I got the same reply.

Good motel not far from Auckland airport

Fairly old motel but staff very nice. Would have been good to have a blind on the bathroom window. All supplies there we needed to have our own meals in unit. It is on a busy corner so ear plugs were very useful

Needs some tlc

Hotel is looking tired. Rooms were old. Hotel looked nothing like photos. Lawns were unkept, foot high around edges. Noisy as on busy main road. Pictures show seperate lodges , all appeared small and all joined together. Advertised the picture of well manicured lawns and seperate lodge . Worst place we stayed at all around New Zealand . Not 4 star more like 3

Great spot for early departures from Auckland

Quite well appointed motel with fridge hot plate microwave and pans and dishes. Our unit was a 1 bedroom. Decent size flat screen. About 20 minutes from airport by car in a pretty quiet at night suburb of Auckland. Decent access into city by car via Hwy 1

Very clean rooms

We were expecting a small motel room and ended up with a 2 bedroom unit. Very clean with all the little extras including a hotplate, microwave/ convection oven and lots of kitchen stuff. Fairly close to the airport and very close to bus route to central city.

We were very impressed that Michael,who worked at the hotel, took us to the airport free of charge. It was very kind if him.

Room was very clean however it was very hot and the fan in the room could not be turned on as the blades kept hitting the slanted roof. Fridge seemed to have a leak when we arrived. Would be good to do some renovating

A very welcoming stay

My girlfriend and I stayed here twice on our recent trip up north and on both occasions, it was very pleasant. The hosts are very hospitable, even going so far as to heat some muffins for you when you arrive. Now that's service! Would I stay here again? Absolutely and probably will.

When we arrived the owner came over with muffins!!! Lovely people to deal with. the room was so neat and tidy and facilities were excellent.And very quiet even though there were quite a few people staying. Perfect location off main thoroughfare.

Comfortable stay

This is my second stay in Grange and different room - this time everything was ok apart from the squashed space to walk around the end of the bed to get to the wardrobe - its quite a squeeze and unfortunately that is where the mirror is and wardrobe etc

Accommodation for Ed Sheeran concert

I thought that the sofa in the room was rather small - no way you could lie down on it and the rubbish bin in the toilet had not been emptied from last quests - was rather gross.
