I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Rotana. The staff were very friendly, the food was great with new buffet options daily, and the resort was clean and well-maintained. The beach was stunning, with amazing coral and fish — a top-notch snorkeling spot! The only downside was the limited entertainment options, which could use more variety and better quality. Overall, a fantastic experience

The people every where are friendly, working around the hour to make your dreams true. Starting from front desk, Amir, Ahmed, going to the concierge, Ekramy, Salama, Ahmed, then to the food resturant, manager Ibrahim, waiters, Yassir, Faris, chief Mohamed for the pasta, chief Mohamed forcthe desert, chief mohamed for special diet. Then the doctor onboard, Dr. Mahmoud. Activity center on the beach is amazing.

Amazing resort

We loved the hotel! From the staff to the grounds, it was a wonderful experience! Everything is kept very clean and nice, wish we could have stayed longer

HORRIBLE STAY

-Deluxe room as booked but can't be even normal!! It was room #1127 -Rude rescue team at the pool and impolite way in speaking to gusets and their managers is taking no action at all to stop that. - Room full of ants and insects, cleaning level is a disaster , i have to call to bring some one to take the trash! -Ants were found also in my drink at Ramsis restaurant at the hotel and the guy comfortably said it won't be the last problem!! -Not recommended at all

My first and last time such hotel !

I booked upon recommendation of my friend about how amazing the hotel is and stayed in room 1127. Since i entered the room the problems has started. The room supposed to be deluxe one but it was full of insects "ants" and my baby was harmed by them many times !! They said they clean the room every 48 hours but nothing happened, i even have to call to bring some one to take the trash!!!. I found ants in my drink at the restaurant "RAMSIS ONE"! and when I called the guy to show it to him , he looked in the glass saying i am not saying anything although it was on the surface!! then said that such problems happened a lot and this will not be the last time for having such problems so sorry by any way!! I actually dont know how he could speak in such way to a customer till now!.The electric stairs was damaged and i have to climb the huge amounts of stairs lifting my baby stroller just to reach to the restaurant!, The rescue team working on the pool are more than rude, speak in un proper way with my wife to prohibit her from going to the swimming pool claiming that time is ended although it was 5 pm and when we called the Mr Mohamed from the reception, he said no time is still on till 7pm !!! and the guy should not said that and advised if it repeats again just let him know without even taking any action with him!! Very disappointing place, do not recommend it at all.

Good place but more suitable in summer rather than in winter because adult bool is not heated but kids pool is heated. Rooms some are new and amazing others are old so always choose renovated rooms otherwise amazing place

Wonderful vacation at sharm

Full of prostitutes

Horrible hotel, staff are unfriendly and impolite. Room was not clean, and many prostitutes are with guests and when we complained to the managers they said they can't interfer. Shame on you.

poor check in

The resort itself is absolutely lovely. I had the most relaxing time. The man named Mohammed who manages the ramses is awesome. Very friendly. Food was not too my liking at ramses but some may find it great. The good thing is there are options. Issue I have is with the reception and check in. I booked through hotels.com and booked full board. On arrival I was told it was breakfast only. The people at reception were not very helpful despite me showing them the confirmation. I was told that they would try to sort out the issue but nothing was done in the 3 nights I was there.

Disappointing stay

I wouldn't return! Was on an AI basis for Christmas and new year but everything was extra extra extra.. Ramses restaurant is pure chaos always dirty tables not being cleaned which left an impression of bad management, the snack bar was a joke just a hot cupboard with maybe a slice of pizza or a falafel no menu to order a sandwich or anything.. this hotel is not 5 stars. Sky lounge was nice in an evening and the staff were lovely but very disappointed that there was no entertainment for guests on NY eve everybody was thinking what's happening so one of the staff found some music through you tube and put it on the sound system so at least we had something,they wanted 120 dollars per person to go into the Cleopatra lounge for some entertainment not everybody wanted that. I emailed the general manager about my concerns but he couldn't even reply to me just a phone call to my husband to say this was company policy.. I left this hotel thinking never again..

Nice swimming pool and beach

This Hotel is a perfect spot if you want a quiet place near the sea to spend your vacation. The swimming pool is huge and clean with different depth areas clearly marked on the edges. Access to the beautiful Red sea water Good food and service.

Great hotel but needs to work hard on the quality of food.

Large resort and good location

Rooms have good size but old furniture. Food not attractive as 5 stars! location is very good half way between Center and Airport, but you may not need to leave the resort, you have everything you need.

It was not a good stay. The room was not equipped with free wifi. The dinner was without soft drinks even water was not free.The room price which i got from hotel.com was not correct. The hotel demanded from me more price which forcefully i have paid.

ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES EVER - EGYPT

This is a really great hotel located in an amazing area near to Neama Bay (shopping and outing area) and it has a very professional staff, know what they do, they are welcoming, nice, patient, smiling, helpful, generous and polite. Money paid are way cheap in comparison to services received of lodging, restaurants, resort and all other types of services. I strongly recommend anyone who is heading to Sharm El Sheikh soon to try this incredible experience with their every night fun programs and all the services that I have to say it's literally a high level one.

Great trip to Sharm El Sheikh

My stay was very pleasant. The sea view was great! I was very pleased with the room service/food to include the morning breakfast. The beach services were supportive and attentive to the needs of all guest.

A little slice of heaven

Stayed at this hotel 20+ times in last few years. Have stayed in other hotels in the past, and know all the hotels fairly well in Sharm, but this is the best. We always get upgraded to a suite as been there so many times, service superb, amenities in hotel top rate,located in Shark's Bay so just a taxi or bus ride into Naama, El Hadaba, Old Sharm, Genena City, Soho Square etc. Beautifully trained staff, who would never think of asking you for anything, (unlike other hotels), polite, charming and respectful at all times.

Huge disappointment

This hotel's location and facilities is excellent but in terms of the service, it's horrible and the staff is very rude at the reception especially. They are full of themselves and have no respect for the customer. They also don't know how to follow instructions like when u ask for a lunch box because ur missing breakfast they forget to prepare it. Room service is also very insufficient and they make you feel as if you are asking the impossible for example I ordered a food menu because one was missing from the room and the person who answered the phone was too lazy to send one and wanted to tell me the menu items over the phone!!! Overall, if you are ok with bad treatment, service, and average food quality,then enjoy ur stay! i would never recommend this hotel and it pleases me to say that I won't ever go back.

The food was bad. The staff was rude. Our expedia booking price was not honored and the staff said it was because we were not Egyptian citizens. We will not be back.

Good and bad overall at this hotel!

This hotel is beautiful especially the pool area. It over looks a nice beach and ocean. The hotel is massive and although we weren't, if your room is in a block near the entrance, it's a good walk to the pool area. The pool/bar staff were excellent ensuring you had a lounger and towels and always were cheery and asking if we were having a good day. We had a few issues however. Firstly the promised daily bottle of water to your room was often forgotten, the main public toilets by the pool had a stench to it and construction improvements were taking place with no prior warning ie drilling etc. The buffet selection was small and repetitive although it improved during our stay. The annoying thing was having to chase waiters to get a drink as there was no tea/coffee machine available for yourself. We were on an 'Ultra all inclusive' package and still not everything was included which was really bizarre. Hotel entertainment was truly awful and if you didn't fancy a drink at night there really was nothing to do. One good thing to note was a family birthday though and the hotel prepared some tables. Looked after U.S. and provided a brilliant cake. Like I said, very hit and miss overall. The good was great and the bad was bad.

The hotel is a real heaven on earth. The staff make up most of the experience. They are very friendly and calm. For instance i had an issue with my bank card and Ramy the receptionist was so professional and understanding. He is so nice. Made him my good friend. I will go back especially because of Ramy, Rabea and Mohammed the receptionists. These guys are the most amazing staff I have ever met at a hotel and I have travelled the world and always stay in hotels. You guys make what that hotel is. The views from this hotel should be the most spectacular in the works. Fantastic. They have plenty of restaurants too. The food is top grade. One must try their Palm restaurant at the beach, that goes down as one of the finest eating places in the world to me. The seen as you dine is magnificent. I strongly suggest not to stay at this hotel. We accidently chosen to stay at room which was only for Egyptians. Only half way through our holidays been told that we need to pay double price. Management refuse to help or co-operate. Refuse to refund remaining holiday. Had to check out and find new

Good hotel

We had a comfortable and wonderful stay. Food in the main restaurant (buffet) was really good. The highlight of the stay was the amazing staff - friendly and always ready to help. The negative points was that the bathroom was not properly cleaned; the grout was dirty and there were black spots (grime) on the bathroom floor. You don't expect this at a 5 star leisure resort and this was in there Club Rotana rooms.

Grand Rotana Hotel and Spa Sharm el Sheikh

Great hotel, good service, superb spa but unfortunately our stay was spoilt by the music being played but more importantly the volume of the music being played, certainly not background music. We did not use the pool for this very reason, which was a great shame because it's superb. We chose to eat in the dedicated restaurants which were great but even this was spoilt by the volume of the music being played in other parts of the hotel, you could hear it thumping away over the top of the background music in the restaurants, not pleasant. Be warned !!!!!!

Nothing close, but is ok for staying and keep calm

Hotel was good. Good service. Wifi conected free. Everything is verygood and big pool. No airport shuttle l, shuttle yo neema bay. Is good 5 star... nothing is close and minibar in room is expensive. I give 9 of 10.

Perfect for a week of relaxation

We stayed in a Premium King Sea View room which was large with all necessary facilities and an outstanding view. The staff of the Grand Rotana strive at all times to meet your needs and go out of their way to provide a high quality service. In particular, the waiters in the Italian and Palm restaurants, the workers at the pool bar and C-Lido and the bar tenders in the Sky Lounge were exceptional. These individuals made our stay extra special and made us feel extremely welcomed. The hotels signature restaurant Silk Road served a wide variety of delicious dishes as you watched them cook. Once again, staff were of top quality. The only let down of the Grand Rotana is the shopping arcade within the hotel. We found the private owners to be well off the standard of service thats offered in the rest of the hotel. These shop owners took advantage of guests and harassed them to visit their stores despite previously purchasing from them. The pricing was completely dishonest and was to purely rip-off tourists. On numerous occasions inappropriate comments were made towards my partner whenever she went to these shops alone. Having said this, these complaints do not apply to all the shop owners, just a select two shops. If the shops were controlled more closely or run by the Grand Rotana, the hotel may then be more aware of these happenings. As a whole we greatly enjoyed our stay.

Great resort on a beautiful coral sea side

The Grand Rotana resort is probably one of the best resort in sharm , really big , beautifully kept and well equipped. We had a wonderful time here and the staff consists in some of the most friendly and helpful people we have ever met on any trip.

Disappointing won't recommend

My husband & I spent the new year's week in Grand Rotana where we booked a premium room hoping for some luxury & comfort. The room was pretty old in a bad condition with barely no view to explain the extra cost of the room. The room was not clean with coffee on the curtains, hair remains on the wall, & bath tub has dark lines around it. The room service was inconsistent where I had to call them twice in the week as no one cleaned the room until the afternoon. As for the breakfast it was absolutely boring with no changes for the whole week. The staff though were very friendly & helpful which was the only positive thing in our stay.

Great Resort Overall

We had a fantastic, relaxing, trouble free week here. Hotel grounds are beautiful, spacious, clean and well manicured. It was not a peak time, so we had no problems with noise or fighting for sunbeds. All the staff were very helpful-could not fault the service in any part of the hotel-including restaurants, bar and spa. We were upgraded on arrival to a spacious sea facing room with a balcony which was lovely. A very nice pool, but water was too cold so we swam in the sea and snorkelled daily which was extarordinary. We rarely needed to leave the hotel, but it was a 15 minute taxi ride from Naama Bay so not too bad. We would most definitely return to this resort for another relaxing week!

Eid alfitr vacation

I liked the hotel in general with lots of facilities you can enjoy but I didn't like the house keeping, very slowly, we need to call them every day to clean the room, when we checked in we complained about awful smell in both rooms we took but we stayed one week& we didn't see the differences. All the restaurants are not that standard should be with 5 start hotel, beside the breakfast time was terrible experience for us daily with low service& not that much variety or tasty food

Charm in Sharm

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location, fantastic views and great service. Breakfast buffet could have been better, but overall the food was of high quality in all the restaurants. Staff were friendly and polite, greeting you with a smile. Ibrahim serving in the Sky lounge was wonderful as was Waleed at the concierge who both help to make our stay even more special.

Breakfast at Ramses restaurant not acceptable

overall the resort is good if you exclude the breakfast, but the problem where you can take your breakfast?!! the croissant the cake the cheese, the ham... the basic issues not tasty at all. The Egyptian foul section here the cleanliness!!! the coffee service pots are broken, cups not clean!!! The Italian and beach restaurants are acceptable but not a 5 stars restaurant. It's my seventh time to Sharm I can say I will not come back to this resort with these conditions even it has a good landscape a good staff.

Amazing Honeymoon!

Grand Rotana has to be the most beautiful hotel resort I have stayed in... the views and the pools are the best I have seen. Their gym and spa facilities are brilliant... you can watch the the sea whilst working out. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they always worked to meet our needs. Their free shuttle services were also very convenient for quick trips to Na'ama Bay. Their restaurants offer top quality food especially the food on the beach 'Palms grill and bar'. We loved how they didn't charge us for a late check out and had upgraded our rooms to a sea and pool view free of charge (during the off peak season).. The workers are so friendly and had always addressed us by our names, the reception even remembered our room number! We booked many excursions through them for reasonable prices such as quad biking, parasailing, tube boats etc... overall, their location, staff and facilities were absolutely amazing... I'd definitely go their again

Great hotel

It is a very nice hotel, among the top 3 hotels in Sharm. Near the airport and 10min from everything else which can be reached easily by taxi.

One of the best In Sharm El Sheikh

Although the resort condition and services are average but if compared to other hotels and resorts in Sharm El Sheikh it is definetaly one of the very best. The sea view is great from most rooms, and stuff are very friendly.

Relax, active holiday

Enjoyed our stay, could have done without the music around the pool but it didn't detract from the overall experience. Used the Diver centre at the hotel sea front to arrange our dive trips with Camel dive who gave great dive experience if a little hectic logistics arrangements. Would recommend for a relaxing holiday soaking up the sun and trying out outdoor activities.

Very Relaxing .

Honest review of Grand Rotana

Hotel was very impressive. What made it for me was the brilliant pool and amazing beach area and the fact you could navigate the hotel easily. The room was just a little bit tired but nice enough (I had a sea view) nothing to complain about unless you are a snob. The prices were great having previously paid a fortune at some hotels. The fish restaurant was nice but the actual food was overcooked. Leave it and head straight for the Italian restaurant near the Pool. The food was brilliant and I would know as I am very fussy about food. Prices are very good in this restaurant. You may wait a while (maybe half hour) as it is made fresh and not simply re heated.In contrast I thought the breakfast was a complete let down and needs to be sorted out. Even if they just bought a proper coffee machine and a few nice cakes it would be better. They need to have more stations with chefs cooking crepes, omelettes etc and sort good coffee out. Finally the staff make this hotel. It reminds me of Dubai where I stay a lot. They are friendly and extremely helpful but not in your face. I stayed in the so called best hotel in Sharm and the staff were helpful but terrified. I don't like that. All in all I did my research before I came and will return without hesitation. It is definitely a 5 star hotel and in my opinion, better all round than the so called best hotel in Sharm which is a pain to get around. Tip get a taxi from the hotel as it is only 100 EGP to the airport this way.

Excellent self-contained resort

We spent a very relaxing four nights at the Grand Rotana. We had booked a Deluxe room, but the hotel was quite empty and on asking at check-in we were upgraded to a room with a full sea view. There is enough on offer inside the resort that it would have been possible to spend our entire stay there, but we took advantage of the on-site Camel Dive centre to arrange diving and snorkelling trips (which involved a minibus trip to Naama Bay). The resort has quite a long section of reef where you can do some good snorkelling without having to go anywhere else. The breakfast buffet was good, and among the various dinner options we were particularly impressed with the Silk Road oriental restaurant. We found prices comparable to UK restaurant prices, or slightly cheaper. For lunch there are several reasonably-priced options, including pizza or pasta at the Italian restaurant for EGP 50-60. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. There is even a pharmacy on-site which stays open late (if you forget your insect repellent, like us!), but it was over-priced compared to Naama Bay, so only use it if necessary. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Best resport I have ever stayed at!

The value for money at this resport is incredible! The resort is very large but not full of people. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms are very comforatable and well decorated. The only downside is that the big pool is not heated and too cold to go in when it isn't very hot out. The snorkling that is avaialbe right at the resort is spectacular! The service of all the staff was superb. The breakfast buffet is decent, but nothing special. Grand Rotana is a spectacular resport and I would definately come back again!

IT IS BEATIFUL, COMFORTABLE,NICE VIEWS,CLEAN, AND ENJOYABLE PLACE.YOU CAN HAVE ALL FACILITIES YOU NEED. REALY WORTH THE PRICE YOU PAY FORE. I STRONGLY RECOMEND THIS RESORT.

Worst stay ever - Grand Rotana

This hotel is far away from the main market. Shuttle service is only 3 times in a day. For any other times you need to pay 10$ one way per person. No airport transfers are provided for free. They charge you 100 LE for providing transportation to airport which will not cost you more than 25 LE if you take a normal taxi. Rooms are below average, please do not even think about taking a garden view room, it appears like a hostel room. There are no bath tubs in the bathroom, TVs in the room are ancient and their remote controls do not work properly, It is a hyped resort really. Don't go by the nice pictures they post on website. I will never ever stay again there and would not recommend this to anyone else.

Grand Rotana -- isolated oasis

The overall facility is lovely and the common areas (spa, restaurants, pools, lobby) are magnificent, 5 star quality. The room was 3 star at best. I had an ant issue in the bathroom and they did not make up my room one day even though I was out at the pool from 10-4. Also, in true Egyptian style, I made the reservation the night before on-line. Apparently, only one person who works in the hotel can answer questions about on-line reservations/download them into the hotel system and she/he doesn't get there until 9:30 am the next day. The infinity pool was lovely, but they need to trim the bushes as they detract from the infinity concept as they obstruct the view between the pool and the red sea. Also, 30 USD a day for internet service is a bit extreme.

The best resort we have ever stayed at

Everything about this place is amazing, we extended our stay from 4 days to 7 because we fell in love with it.

Fantastic hotel, brilliant snorkelling !

Fantastic hotel, very clean, well built, excellent food with much variety and very friendly staff. The coral reef at the hotel had amazing fish. Swimming pool area was superb. No beach though, just rocks and jetties for the coral reef. Worth paying for a sea view upgrade. Highly recommended if you want blue skies and 30 degree heat in November !

Good Value

We actually got a double upgrade, which was nice. I think they had run out of sea view rooms, which we had booked. In the end, the double upgrade looked like what we thought we were getting at two grades below, but I think a lot of the upgrade was simply where the room was located, which was right on the sea. The staff were genuinely friendly and pleased to see us, although the service was slow. The buffet restaurant isn't great, and breakfast wasn't good enough to see us go back again. The oriental restaurant produced good food, but again mediocre service. The watersports people were very helpful, and the pool (which is huge) and the hotel's stretch of sea was very good. Recommend renting some snorkeling gear on the first day - you'll want to go every day. About 10 - 15 minutes taxi ride to the town centre. Would stay here again.

Nice Resort

The hotel was very nice and all the staff were quite friendly. The food at the restaurants was average, not excellent. But the grounds were spotless and we had a great time.

Good Hotel

Contrary to some of the reviews I had read about this hotel, staying here was a very pleasant experience. Very nice surroundings, and good hotel rooms. Hotel facilities were very good and plenty and I would definitely consider this hotel again on a future visit to the area.
