A mixed review. The good: the wonderful upgrade to a renovated bungalow. The staff and service impeccable. Food fabulous. The bad: added days to my res and understandably got downgraded to an un- renovated room which was in disrepair and not worth half of what I paid. Electricity didn’t work and was never fixed. Offered to move my room but had already done that and just wanted things to work. And the room to be in decent shape. The manager was kind and diplomatic but he could t explain away the state of the room. Only book the renovated part of the hotel.
I had a very large and beautiful room. I loved the silence. However, the lightning system of the room was too complicated and we could not turn of the lights completely at night. You also need a tap to wash your feet at the garden or terrace before you enter the room on your way back from the beach.
We had a lovely stay at Grand Lagonissi. The setting is magical, the food delicious, and the staff meets every request with care and a smile! Perfect place to start our honeymoon!!
Beautiful rambling resort. Bring your goggles and see countless fish in the clear waters. Excellent service. Beloved by our Greek friends for decades.
The staff is friendly and we had a wonderful experience! The breakfast was delicious ! The check in staff was friendly and knowledgeable to help with suggestions on things to do as well as wonderful restaurants off site. Great people from the check in staff, food servers and bellmen! The manager was wonderful and helpful. All in all we had a great experience and will go back again!
the hotel is disappointing i ordered a queen size bed and they give me double mattress bed and i text through expedia before and insisted on it wich is horrible as for the hidden delivery charge where they charge the room for for each order of food delivered 15 euro wich is not right as not indicated on the receipt wich i signed once food is delivered
Great Resort
Great resort with fantastic service and a super location
Great Resort
My wife and I had a two day respite from a cruise through the Greek Isles before we headed on to the rest of Europe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff made it a memorable and pleasant experience.
Constantinos and team and lovely and offer the best service and care for guests!
Friendly and respectful staff.
smell in the room was terrible and they didn't even tried to help.
Beautiful property. Quiet and peaceful.
Rooms could use an upgrade. I liked the beachfront and the views
Won’t go back
We have stayed several times through the years and we have always enjoyed it, but the rooms have become so run down at this point that we have decided that this is our last stay. The property has made improvements in some areas, like restaurants, but they need to pay more attention to the comforts in the rooms. Here are some examples. Our mattress was awful. We could feel the springs. We asked for a topper, which helped. We also had ants infest a suitcase that was up on a couch. The staff were not helpful in dealing with that problem. The umbrella that was on the beach in front of our room for our use was broken and never fixed. We will not be returning.
Heaven on earth! Love everything about this place. Staff is awesome and very caring and helpful! Mr. Theodore at breakfast made sure that my daughter and I had gluten free options every day. Katerina took great care to serve us our favorites with a smile. Jimmy was always there when we needed something (like towels at the pool when they ran out). Chara helped with our travel needs. Sophia at the front desk always greeted us with hospitality and love. Dimitri at the Ouzeri made sure we were well taken care of. Georgia and Kosta sang our favorite songs and treated us like family. Mr Tzimas made sure we had a room when we our travel plans changed despite being completely full. I wish I could name everyone!!! Thank you treating us like family and VIPs! See you next year!!!!
breakfast and beach were really good
The service was excellent at the resort. There is 24 hour front desk service available and 24 hour room service available. The front desk will help you with anything you need from getting a taxi to getting a Covid test for your return flight. The concierge was very helpful in planning trips out to see Athens and other day trips. The food was delicious.
Business trip made even better
Incredible hotel, highly recommend, bungalow rooms were amazing.
I like the resort's location. The peninsula possesses beautiful beaches and sand. The property is unique and well-developed, but a little dated. For example, the art inside our suite was photographs of Olympians. It gave us the impression that the rooms have perhaps not been updated since 2004 when Athens hosted? Several of the features in the room were nice at one point, but no longer working, supporting that theory. It's a nice resort, but they ask a lot of money and I think the attention to detail needs to be stepped up if they want to continue demanding the higher prices.
Disappointing. We come to Greece every year but this was our first stay at the Grand Resort. The service/people working at the resort are wonderful but the resort is run down, lacks the amenities required of a five star resort and appears that it is generally poorly managed. The grounds are large and the room had a lot of switches. Typically, at resorts such as this, someone takes you around the resort and your room to show you where things are/how things work. No one did that and, as a result, we found our favorite beach on the last day (4th night). The beach in front of our room was unkempt, the room was not restocked and we waited 45 min for toilet paper, the internet and TV stopped working (they eventually brought a new TV our last night), the air-conditioning was not working properly and we had to have 4 chairs replaced because they were broken. When we told management, they kindly listened but did nothing. Overall, disappointing for the price.
Relaxing and fresh atmosphere after this stupid pandemic
It was so relaxing and amazing atomsphere. They have to work a bit on their food and food service but the rest is great
Fantastic resort. Highly recommend this hotel. It is outstanding and five star amenities throughout. It’s extremely relaxing.
Everything was beyond great- the room, the view, the staff. We had a truly VIP service. I can ravingly recommend the hotel to anyone who is ready to have their best vacation ever!
Everything about this facility is upscale, unique and relaxing. The security staff were thorough and made me feel safe. The grounds were well kept. Our room was breathtaking- view of the sea with our own little pool. The steam/shower was perfect. We felt like we had our own spa. The amenities are too long to list. Every staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. By far the best!!
The rooms of the main building are certainly not of a 5 star hotel (i would not even classify same as a 4 Star hotel)
Liked overall experience. Beach and staff excellent. However it didn't feel particularly Greek. Some decor tatty (carpets in common areas particularly). Minor health and safety issues (steps not highlighted in unlit areas). Food very expensive.
Disappointing stay!
We unfortunately did not have the stay we hoped for. Upon entering our room, we smelled smoke and mold. We couldn’t open our balcony doors to get rid of the smell, because the room would get extremely hot and the air conditioner barely worked. We did not receive a fresh fruit basket as the rest of our friends who were also staying on property did. The door to our room jammed and locked and we were stuck inside several times. The shower water changed from hot to cold back and forth. We wanted to take our free breakfast back to our room because we wanted to work out and later we discovered we were charged a 10.00 euros fee. While this was a disappointing property, we have noticed that every time we book with hotels.com (although silver status) we have a less than up to par room. It makes us question whether to book with hotels.com or go directly to the hotel property. We find that the rooms are different than the general customers.
Thought it was very dated, I don’t feel the website and online advertisement is very misleading. I wouldn’t stay again, the service is very slow. Overall I was disappointed.
the room was not very clean need more care about the cleaning also the front desk lady in check out she was a bit rude the place overall very nice the breakfast one of the best buffet
This is not a proper 5 star hotel according to me. It might have been in the past but not anymore. The staff is friendly, but what is lacking are rooms and services that meets a 5 star hotel today. If you want a classic resort 25 min outside of Athens, then book it. If you want a 5 star, book Four Athens, Somewhere Hotel or The Margi.
Relaxing and Delicious
Resort was amazing. We haven't relaxed like this in years. The food was fantastic.
Amazing location and staff were amazing especially jimmy! Was really pleasant and everyone very welcoming and happy to help. Plenty of restaurants on the resort along with an ok gym. Beach areas and water sports are amazing!!! Breakfast was a buffet and was amazing. I wish I could eat there everyday!! The staff there were always so attentive and friendly! The restaurants on the resort as well were very good and of high quality food. We stayed in bungalow and so had a semi private beach which was amazing and very relaxing. The only negative about this resort is the service charge when ordering room service. It is an extra 15euros which is quite ridiculous. You are not able to pick up food from the restaurant or bar and have to get it sent to the room. On days where you can’t be bothered to go to the restaurant and just want room service this 15 euro charge is very annoying and is unwarranted given how much you pay to stay at the resort in the first place!
Location is unique. It is very beautiful with breathtaking views. But the building and it’s rooms are old and exhausted, aircon as well as hot water are not in good condition as well as the balcony entrance which has a high step out
Hotel was extremely expensive and was not worth it. Rooms are very small, bathroom was smaller than an airplanes bathroom, comforter was old. We paid about $400/ night. Staff was friendly. Hotel is just not worth the price.
Hotel and staff were great and very helpful. Everyone was accommodating and willing to go the extra mile. We will come again.
Location was excellent Privacy was great Beaches were great when the weather was good but it needs an indoor heated pool and spa The biggest complaint was there are no non smoking areas in the outdoor eating areas. Staff said, go inside, but that’s not what I am paying for. Beautiful food, fantastic view and then people start smoking next to you. All it needs is a little management and allocate some space for non smokers.
Wonderful Grand Resort Lagonissi
Wonderful hotel with amazing staff.
It is a nce hotel with several beaches. However, we arrived after the great storm, so that all the beaches were messy. Unfortunately in the sea we did not only find rubbish from the storm, but also old umbrellas, sunbeds and lots of electricity cables, which have nothing to do under water! When I addressed this with the staff, they said they will clean it up, but did not seem surprised or concerned. Even besides the storm, this certainly is the least clean underwater area I have experienced in Greece (and when we stayed a few km from this place in another hotel 4 weeks before everything was clean there...). Our room was quiet and very nice (bungalow) with a beautiful view of the sea and the sunset! Only one restaurant was open in October, but the food was very good. The staff were all friendly.
the location of the rooms on the water is outstanding.
Best place to stay in Athens
We had a wonderful time at the Grand Resort Lagonissi. The staff was superb, courteous and very helpful. The beaches at the resort were well kept. The environment was cozy , and very clean. The Mediterranean restaurant added added ambiance as we were served food by the seaside.
Best vacation ever very nice resort staff are so welcoming and helpful I really recommend it I love this place
The property Peninsula is awesome location and views The restaurants food and service impecable The rooms are dated Seems some parts of the hotel more renovated
As I arrived, check in took forever, and when we informed staff that our 3 year old was with us they would not give us a cot. We were informed that only a bungalow with an additional cost of $1000 per day would fit a cot, lol. We upgraded to a room with pool access which was in he basement of the hotel and thankfully there were 2 beach chairs outside that we quickly brought in and made it a bed by adding the blankets and sheets from the room. The beach chair is larger than a standard cot and fit easily. Furthermore the room was tiny for a “Superior Luxury sea View Room,” as advertised and the bathroom was smaller than an airplane’s lavarotory. Also there were bugs in the bath when we arrived and there was a definite infestation because after getting rid of them, they soon appeared again from the bathroom drain. Overall the location and grounds are nice but doesn’t compare to the old Astir Pallas.
Great holiday.
We arrived for a five night stay, check in was smooth and friendly. Staff very eager to help you to room with golf cart. We stayed in a bungalow 169, fantastic view, sunset every night! Very spacious and a/c worked great. Some dated technology (cassette player, etc...) Room is 20 second walk to private beach, a bit rocky but manageable. We opted for the sandy beach just minutes away we’re it was shared with other hotel guests. Room definitely needs some more outlets for charging tech... Took a taxi from hotel to airport and was charged 100% more than booking direct. I would highly suggest downloading “beat” app and paying fair taxi rate. The upcharge was ridiculous. 100% is extreme, I understand to charge a premium for call ahead service but not 100%.
Over-priced has-been. The location is great as is its proximity to Athens, but this hotel is crazy expensive. Friendly and attentive staff. But room conditions were very disappointing for what is supposed to be a five-star property. Perhaps it was five-star in the distant past, but more like a three-star today. Basic maintenance is lacking across the property. Daily maid service came knocking at 730am at our beach bungalow, deploying piles of laundry in front of what would have been our wonderful morning view. On-site restaurants offer limited menus of fancy concoctions that are terribly over priced. Thinking about lounging at the beach? How’s $11 for a 12oz plastic cup of draft beer or $20 for a medium-sized Greek salad? This place is a waste of money and a major disappointment.
Greek riviera
The hotel has an amazing property. The service and staff are very nice. The rooms are so tiny and old. I have never seen a smaller and uncomfortable bathroom. Everything in the hotel room is old. The towels that were once white are now grey and had to be thrown out a long time ago. The breakfast room reminded me of a cruise ship. Too many people, people wait a long time to take a seat. Very disorganized. This by no means is a five star property. I would give it between a 3-4 because of the beautiful property.
Very good once again
great
Nice hotel but tired for the price
Lovely spot and hotel staff great. Needs however an upgrade
Amazing properties, beautiful gardens, nice beach
Enjoyed the beautiful property, it's so big, nicely maintained with beautiful gardens, nice beaches, Food is good The room was very disappointing though
Great hotel with great amenities. We had a pool access room which was great except the bathroom was very small. The food and drinks were outrageously priced. 25 euros a hamburger and 10 euros a beer Ouch
Constantinos went above and beyond!!
I lost my iphone in the sand and another guest picked it up and took it with ber to the cinema. Guest relations manager Constantinos went with me 10 miles away to track it down. Took us about 2 hours. So nice and incredibly helpful! Resort is absolutely gorgeous... most beautiful workout gym in the world!! There was a long pool in front of our room as well as the main (infinity) pool. Great oceanfront restaurants (Greek, Italian, sushi, others) that you stroll the property to get there... feels like you are in the Greek Islands, but you are only 40 minutes from Athens. Gorgeous Temple of Poseidon is nearby. Beach is stunning and there is a great beach restaurant right on the water. Simply fabulous!!!! Highly recommend!
great staff... not quite money for value
Impressive however lose a bid in details. The Gym in the suite out of order... TV does not work properly. Tennis court needs maintanance... no mini golf. The staff is very polite and helpful. We were given an upgrade. It is good but way too expensive for value
Stunning ocean views
Environment is peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay.
Amazing
Room and hotel grounds are amazing, service can be a bit slow and quite pricey. Restaurants are very nice particularly the Asian restaurant.
Hotel could do with some updating (20 year old televisions etc) but the staff were really helpful and the beach is really lovely. Food was good. I’ve travelled the world but they do the best club sandwich I’ve ever had. Chips were truly homemade. I would definitely return, although it is a bit pricey.
Very satisfied
Our stay here was incredible. All staff were very friendly, helpful, and eager to answer any questions. The restaurants provide very good food and many options to choose from. 100% recommend this facility.
5 Stars
Lovely hotel and setting and the Guest Relations Manager made a real effort to make sure we were looked after. A truly wonderful hotel!
holiday time
holiday time
The rooms are outdated for a 5 star hotel. Food and beverages at the hotel are overpriced. The closest restaurants are about 10 to 15 min walk along side a busy highway. No coffee available in the rooms and there is a charge for coffee that's available in common areas. Definitely not value for money.
Beautiful hotel and great location and grounds were well maintained
Beach location next to the main hotel
Very friendly staff, choice of excellent restaurants and a very conveniently located beach for swimming all made our stay memorable.
Beautiful location and resort, rooms on the small side, bathrooms in the main hotel are tiny. Hotel is a little outdated and needs some renovation, and is definitely understaffed.
it was very fantastic experience the hotel was excellent. the staff were very friendly. the food was quite awesome. the views were incredible.
Great location but rundown
This was a our last two nights on our 12 day trip and we wanted to stay away from the city and enjoy the beach. The hotel lobby was really nice - the service was good - but we were put in a sea view beach bungalow that was amazing but the rooms are very outdated (back to the 70's); the grounds on the sea side view were not taken care of, very run down. It was amazing to have our own "private" beach, no one else used the beach area but it was very run down
Horrible 3 nights
This hotel might have been one of the best beach resorts some 20 years back but it seems the time stopped then. Aside from the wifi service which works everywhere, everything else is either overpriced or inadequate. There is no kettle in the room , no espresso machine although I booked a Mediterranean Bungalow which is supposed to be one of the luxurious rooms they have since it contains a jacuzzi.
Service started good, then went down hill
Our first night stay was acceptable. Then the hotel filled up and service became horrible. Example: I asked for clothes hangers from house keeping, and they said call tomorrow!!! The restaurant food and service was very bad also.
The management and staff were doing their best to make the guest comfortable
Beautiful beachfront Resort!
Nice rooms w/ large outdoor balcony. Water sports available. Nice pools & beaches. Several nice restaurants but are pricey.
LOVE LAGONISSI !!
everything was wonderful !! everyone was very friendly !! amazing property and views !! we had an amazing time !!
Great staff!!!
We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. On the last day our tire was flat and they arranged and happily change that for us so we can have a safe ride home. The service is perfect the staff is very friendly.
Amazing hotel Great location
On our arrival we were upgraded to a superior bungalow which made us extremely happy as we had direct access to the beach from our room. It was the best ever view you can possibly get ! Everything was top notch: location , size of the rooms and bathroom (walk in wardrobe was a very appreciated bonus) , diversified and yummy breakfast , choice of restaurants , cleanliness , service.
Great to relax as a couple
Had a great 6 day stay with my wife from Sept. 8 -14/15. They gave us an upgrade to a beautiful bungalow. The premises were absolutely impeccable and the buffet breakfast was outstanding. The location was great if you want to feel like your on an island while being close to Athens (40 kms). The only complaint was the Greek restaurant (Oyzeri), we were surprised to hear more foreign music (Italian, English) than Greek music at dinner. Also, even thou the food was very good it seems that the staff were not knowledgeable enough about the food and wines and the service was not at par with a restaurant of this caliber.
Perfect setting
My wife and I were in for a wedding of two close friends and found this gem a few months prior. We upgraded the room with the understanding that they were a bit small. Overall the landscape, hotel and views looked like something out of a storybook. However, the hotel is showing some age with minor carpet stains and wrinkles, exterior light fixtures out in multiple areas and a few other minor items that one would expect for the price are being maintained. No complaints about the food or service. Everyone was great and bent over backwards.

Lovely spot. Would visit again.
