Liked- Good location, spacious room and excellent staff behaviour. Reasonably good spread for breakfast. Disliked- The property is old and seemed to be a little short of maintenance. A little more attention can be given towards cleanliness. Breakfast was good but whatever else we ordered was not as good like everywhere else in China.
Great location and hotel. Bar staff and bar needs a bit of attention.
Nice Hotel with a Good Location
The location of the hotel was great, close to the central area. The room was clean and the service was good. Overall I enjoyed my stay here.
its proximity to metro subway is a plus.
Everything here is so grand! Service was superb. Breakfast was one of the best breakfast I've had in a Hotel. Hotel was super helpful in organising a taxi for us to the Airport.
We were a bit surprised that the air conditioning in the December period is limited to heater only. It became really hot and unbearable in the room. Luckily, the hotel brought us a fan so that we can cool ourselves off a bit as the heater was way too powerful. The wifi is non-existent because it is extremely slow.
Nice stay
Nice hotel in a good area. Easy to walk to main tourist sites. Restaurant menu could be improved a little, it is a little confusing - maybe due to translation. We had an incident in a lift. Apparently something went wrong and we dropped one floor which was a little frightening. It gets very busy with tour groups staying there. Breakfast is crazy and the staff try their best Good little bar in the front off the lobby
Convenience to public transport and the rooms are clean.
Reasonable prized, sumptuous lobby, friendly staff, helpful concierge
IT MAY HAVE BEEN "GRAND" IN THE PAST BUT NO LONGER
Considering this hotel is used by many tour groups, I was expecting this hotel to be quite nice. I booked 2 nights in a Club Room with Executive Lounge access. Due to availability, my 3rd (and final) night was going to be in a Balcony/Terrace room. Changing rooms didn't bother me. When checking in, they wanted to give me the (cheaper) Balcony/Terrace room for 3 nights. I told them I still wanted 2 nights in a Club Room with Exec Lounge access. I was told the Exec Lounge was closed as no staff turned up to work. I was supposed to have free access to food and beverages from 2 - 5pm. As the Exec Lounge was closed, I was told I could have a free coffee & cookie from the cafe instead. They would also wash 1 t-shirt free of charge per day. I was then told by a manager that he had worked there for over 10 years. At no time in that 10 years had the Exec Lounge been open! I took down 2 t-shirts to be washed (free of charge) and they wanted to charge me. Total CHAOS! The beds were as hard as a plank of wood and the rooms smelt like mildew. Carpet and furniture was quite dated, the bathroom door kept coming off the sliding tracks & water pressure was terrible. When I moved to the Balcony room, the new room also smelt like mildew & the bed was no softer. The concierge was always very helpful & obliging. In an excellent location. Around 8-minutes walk to the Bell Tower. I'd visit Xi'an again but I would probably stay elsewhere.
This hotel is in a great location close to most things. Breakfast is fantastic with lots of variety. Staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Excellent location, very clean and great value for money
Hard to find decent food options close to the hotel. The hotel offered a very good breakfast and dinner buffet. Much pricier than the local food
Trouble with service
The hotel is average but the concierge (mr. Spencer Le) tried to make money from us with the tranfer to the train station. We organized a Didi ride with his team member with the cost of 50 yuan and he tried to charge us 400 yuan. We almost lost our train because of this problem.
This property is in a fantastic location in Xian The property was nice and has a wonderful breakfast buffet to offer.
Walking distance (5-15 min) to the nearest metro (Line 2 & 4). There is a bus stop just right in front of hotel. The hotel room was clean and big. Airport Bus is located at Bell Tower Hotel, which is one bus stop from the Grand Noble Hotel. Staff was friendly and also recommended some attractions at Xi'An.
Good service and handy location
Handy location close to shops and restaurants. Jason Jiao, the concierge was very helpful as we were travelling in a group. Any problem is not too big for him..
Convenient and cheap hotel
Conveniently located hotel in the heart of the old part of Xi’an.
Good location, feather pillows, ok English. Beds very hard.
Non of the staff speak English, other than yes, no,sorry...Breakfast is geared for Korean/Chinese clients only. Room was okay, no useful non Chinese TV channels. Dirty surrounding are used by staff. Not helpful and no airport shuttle service. Avoid this hotel.
There was nothing to like, her than it's proximity to the TipoaRental Car office and Metro
Nice hotel, big rooms, clean. The one thing that put me off and I would never come back is that walls are made of paper. Could hear everything thats going on in rooms beside incljding tv, showers, conversations etc. Not a standard for a 4* hotel
Good location to Historical sites , and shopping malls , service was excellent
I am a huge fans of L'Occitane bath products, so I made my reservation right away when I saw the hotel images (the 19/28 image). Turn out hotel provides their own shampoo and shower gel which is far from the value I expected. Very disappointed k owing the product description is not truthful. Concierge staff had been very helpful nonetheless.
Amazing Hotel
It was just amazing. really good hotel over all everything is perfect. very organize for sure a lots of foreign people stay there.
Efficient Check-in
Fast and efficient check-in. Comfortable larger size rooms
Good hotel for money in a well location
It was a good hotel. Staff did not speak English fluently but they have electronic translators in case you want to discuss which is the only downside to it. In nutshell, if you don’t speak/have Chinese translator, good luck not only within hotel but within the city.
Good location but laundry washing price is expensive
Wouldn’t stay here again
Good location near major points of interest in downtown Xi’an, but the hotel is definitely dated and doesn’t warrant a 4.5 rating. I’ve traveled quite a bit in western China, often in rural areas, and been in significantly better hotels. Beds are hard, which is typical, but most places billed as luxury hotels have more comfortable ones. We had two rooms. One smelled like smoke. The front desk did allow us to change rooms, but not before arguing that it was a non-smoking floor and shouldn’t smell. When housekeeping came, they agreed it smelled. When we returned from a long day of site seeing, we found our room keys weren’t working. It turned out they had misread our online booking and only checked us in for one day, not three. They insisted we pay another 2000RMB deposit, which meant our deposit was significantly more than the total of all nights stayed. It’s been 5 days since we checked out, and one of the 2000RMB deposits still hasn’t been refunded. Also, don’t ask the concierge to get you a taxi. It’s much faster to go outside and hail one yourself.
If you don’t have much choice
Reviews were mixed about Grand Noble but we decided to proceed as we booked late and the location was reviewed as central. While it is indeed not far from some of the city sights, the fact that the area is central meant that there’s a lot of underground tunnel crossings vs just crossing the road. In the immediate vicinity there’s still a lot of shopping, food and convenience stores. While quite an old property, house keeping made a decent attempt to keep the place clean. However, the kettles (in both rooms we stayed in) were dirty - not hygienic enough to boil water. I took two thermos to the front desk to ask them to fill with hot water and they said housekeeping don’t have hot water and for me to perhaps try at the bar. Saving grace was the friendly waitress at the bar who did fill up the two bottles for my mom who was sick. While I can understand that housekeeping may indeed not have hot water, the front desk lady gave me a weird look as if I am crazy and the alternative would be to apologise and have Housekeeping send a clean kettle. I had also asked for connected rooms upon booking and in fact chose this property despite mixed reviews cos of the availability of connected rooms. At check in I confirmed the request and the front desk said that will be what we will be given, but once we went up to the room we realised it was two rooms beside each other with no connecting door. They were not able to change as the hotel only has 2 such rooms. Very disappointing.
very pretty lobby and hotel common areas. Food was good at dinner but a lil pricey for breakfast. beds were firm but a extra blanket took care of that. Hotel staff were great
Located only a couple blocks (Big blocks) from the Bell Tower, or Center of historic Xian City. 15 minute stroll from hotel.
Hotel was really nice , rooms are clean and confy. They have a spa and the massage are cheap like 98 yuan with happy ensing for 10 yuan more lol. 15 minutes walking to metro.
A little run down. Good location but rooms need an upgrade.
Good in general, and it's close to the Bell Tower and the City Wall. The room view wasn't that good, though. And, not that I had problem with the staff, but thought they could speak more English.
The hotel register recommended a Bingmayong tour and I booked it (400CNY). When I get into the bus next day, the tour guide said that the tour price is higher than booked price 450CNY. 50CNY is small amount but that's how they do the business.
Good Hotel for the Price
This hotel is satisfactory for the price and central location in Xi’an. The hotel and room was a little dated, but clean and comfortable. The only issue I had was trying to get the staff to help me get a cab twice. The night before I left they were reluctant to order me a taxi and suggested I make a 20 minute walk to my destination. The next morning it took repeated request and nearly 30 minuets to get me taxi so I could go to the train station. After making the request, I waited 15 minuets. When I went to check, the bell stand staff said the taxi had canceled the pickup. They did not think to order a new taxi or to tell me it was canceled. It’s a good thing I went back inside to check it or I would have missed my train.
Pleasant Hotel In Xian
It was a pleasant trip to see the Terracotta Army and Xia’n. The hotel was very nice but a little tired in parts. Service was okay but slow and some items on snack menu were not available, which was a disappointment. Also coffee shop staff interrupted her service of us as a client to count and deal with some vouchers brought by an internal colleague. As a result we chose to go and have our coffee elsewhere.
Love the hotel: I would like to come back
It was amazing: excellent location and service. I would recommend to everyone. It is in walking distance to many attractions. Has a Very helpful concierge service.
Great hotel. Reasonable price. Location was excellent .. very close to main shopping area and multiple restaurants. Staff were very friendly, professional and eager to help. Room was exactly as advertised. Clean. Well maintained. Bathroom area was a little on the small side for a family, but I'd still say a great place for a family to stay.
Great hotel. It has a great location as well. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Clean but old. Needs renovation
The front desk staff was very nice and friendly. Accomodating as we checked in very late. They were waiting for us with our room ready. The room was clean, but the hotel facility is very old. Dirty carpet, the paperwall in the hallway was dirty and broken, the rooms our outdated. Clean though. I would choose another option that is updated.
Ok for price
It was a great location. A little old but great value for money. The only thing I would recommend is to make sure if it’s a non smoking floor that this is the case. I know it’s hard to make sure everyone sticks by the rules but the smoke was really unpleasant
Bathroom area and bedroom are open to each other, I feel embarrassing even with my husband. It is good for honey moon living. and hotel said all the rooms are same!! small, may have only 200 sq ft or less.
Good, but too busy during breakfast time
The breakfast buffet was good, but too crowded and no one brought coffee to the table for refills. We all had to get up and get our own refill in a small coffee cup. Overall, it is OK for the price we paid.
Great staff, but dated facilities and terrible AC.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. The facilities are generally pretty dated and unimpressive. The AC in the room is essentially non-functional, which was experienced by all (4) rooms occupied by our group. When each person called the desk to inquired about the AC, a housekeeping staff was sent to open the window. While this did cool the room due to cooler temperatures outside, this was only acceptable as we luckily had low pollution days. On a more normal basis, the high pollution outside would really make opening the window as a solution to be unreasonable. The breakfast was average.
Old hotel, about 15 mins walk from closest metro
Very old hotel. Nearest metro is Bell Tower, about 15 minutes walk/5 blocks. Be mindful if you have luggage as you will have to carry heavy luggage up and down to the underground crossing. No escalators or lifts. Lots of tour buses come to this hotel, so you see lots of tour groups in the morning.
Xian is a great city to visit!
We got upgraded. So, room is great - though bathroom is a little small. Breakfast was excellent. Location is also excellent.
We really enjoyed the comfort of the hotel, however I marked it down on service because we found the restaurant and bar were very poor and slow.
A good hotel
A satisfying experience. Everything from location, service, amenities, food was very satisfactory.would recommend the hotel to anyone
Xi'an brilliant and hotel location first class. Would go back but possibly not during national holiday.
Grand Noble
Nice hotel, centrally located within the city walls. Reliable wifi, helpful staff, and clean rooms make it a good place to stay.
Nice Hotel close to the biggest Market in Xi'an .
Rooms have old carpets and not recommended for people with allergies. overall the air quality in Xian is bad and polluted and the hotel did not help me with allergies which I never had.
Nice hotel overall
It was clean and neat hotel in a convenient if wanting to use public bus. Slightly away from attraction
Good location and facilities
Excellent hotel, efficient staff with good English. Did not eat in hotel but good choice of local places nearby. Good sized room, very clean and well equipped
Fine in terms of cleanliness and location, room furnishings were kind of dated but acceptable.
Good location. Clean. Good service. Better average breakfast. Well worth the money.
Close to the center of the city
It's very close to the bell tower, bus stops and subway. The hotel is clean, safe and convenient to get food or other stuffs within 1km.
Dated hotel
Some of the staff uninterested.very hard bed.pillows.ok.poor location.would not recommend this hotel
Excellent location, great hotel
This was my first trip to Xi'an and I was very pleased about my stay. The location is unbeatable - you can easily walk to the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, subway station, and the Muslin Quarter. Plenty of restaurants around. Very friendly staff, and the room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is superb, with over 30 choices to satisfy people from different parts of the world. I will surely stay here again next time I visit Xian.
Beautiful Xi'an Hotel with Great Conierge
Grand Noble is super-comfortable, has the best lobby chandelier known to man, a super-help ful concierge whose English was good and understandable (ask for Man), and a nice breakfast buffet with many tasty choices. The hotel is a short walk from major metro stop. Our hotel bathroom was small but beautifully appointed, hitting the feng shui points on target. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. We are in the hotel for dinner twice-- avoid the pizza at all costs s! But the pasta puttanesca and bolognese were totally on target. The reception desk could use some straightening up-- they claimed not to have our reservation at first, and made faces when they talked about "Expedia" and "Hotels.Com." But once we worked past that, things were fine. We stayed 4 night and enjoyed every one of them. The concierge helped make our trip fun and easy-- setting us up with very good tours to all the sights. We of course went to the terra cotta warriors, but the concierge also helped us join Chinese tours that went to different places not on the typical tour menu. Thru this, we met a tour guide who also assisted us with travel arrangements. We will definitely stay at the Noble again.
Good value and close to areas of interest
Had a very good stay (actually, two of them) here. Good location and property, close to pretty much everything.
Nice hotel with a great location
Checking in was easy and fast. They requested a credit card for a deposit for additional hotel amenities. This is not unusual but when we "used up our deposit" they requested that we pay in cash. The service could be a little slow in the resturants and bars, but the food is good. The Concierge was helpful and gave us good information except for the time it would take to get to the train station. We were told 20 a 30 minutes and it took almost an hour. We made our train with 10 minutes to spare. The hotel is walking distances or a short taxi ride around the city. You will need to hire a driver or take a tour to get out to the Terra-cotta Warriors.
The location is superb!
The hotel is walking distance to city center. You can get to all attractions and the train station by any of the 20 buses outside of the hotel. This facility is your standard five star hotel. A worthy place for travellers.
3 night stay in Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors and sight-seeing in Xi'an. Very nice hotel in a central part of the city and easy bus ride to the train station to go to the Terracotta Warriors (far, far cheaper than doing a tour). Breakfast in the hotel was too expensive though.
Good hotel with an excellent staff!
C- trip was great and the Terra Cotta warriors, Moslem street, and many other downtown features are a must see. The Grand Nobel hotel was reasonably priced and located only 11 minutes by foot from the Bell Tower Building. Good experience!
Excelent!
Beautiful hotel in a great location!
A+++++ CHINA
HOTEL was AWESOME!!! Location was a plus!! Would recommend it!
this is good hotel, they have buffet restaurant, the dinner open from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, but when we reach the restaurant at 7:30pm, most dishes empty, and they don't want to add new plate, because they said it still have a lot fried rice, noodle and some meat.
Clean and comfortable room
Don't book other service, we book hotel airport pick up service, they stand us up. It is unbelievable. But the location is ok, the staff is friendly and room is comfortable.
hotel is conveniently located
overall experience is ok. The toilets do not flush well. Towers was missing one time.
The location is good. The room is comfortable. The breakfast has a lot of food varieties
Nice hotel
Avery nice hotel in a nice location. Very clean. I would stay here again. I ended up getting a nasty cold and spending too much time in the room. My husband was able to find things to do close while I recouped. Restaurant has very good food. Staff and gift shop very nice. My only negative thing is that the bed was waaayyy to hard. I have a firm mattress at home but this one way like sleeping on the floor.
helpful concierge
this hotel is about 15min walk from the bell tower and about 20min to the muslim quarter. hotel is on the east side of the city. room was very nice and clean and comfortable. hotel concierge very helpful in booking of day tours for us. generally a good place to stay, however if proximity to city centre is an issue, there are hotels with better location e.g. on the south side of the Bell tower.
Good location Close to Huiming Jie. Bus stop in front of the hotel.
Old hotel and rude staff
This is marked as 4.5 star hotel. but the actually is only about 3 star hotel service and room. The furnitures are old and paint chip everywhere. Hotel staff don't care about your request or question. They are only there to check you in, then after that , its not their business. I even found a left over dirty towel hanging behind the bathroom door when I get to the room. bad bad bad experience.
Handy place to stay
Muslim st is a must do
Great hotel and Staff
I enjoyed staying in this hotel is close to the metro and their is a market by the bell tower that we enjoyed very much "a must see" i need it help with a reservation for a fligth and a hotel in another city and the staff was very helpfull...very clean and the hotel restaurant was good too.
good location but...
the most happy was the location is good. nearby shopping mall easy to get taxi, the places we went within 1km cost RMB8.50 only. But felt disappointed with the room bathroom & toilet. no bath tub & the space designed like budget hotel. It is 5-star hotel & cost abt RMB400/night.
Nice Hotel in Downtown Xi'an
This is a very nice Hotel, in Downtown Xi'an, close to a lot of shops and restaurants
Very nice hotel close to many attractions.
Very happy with my stay at this hotel. The room was a bit out dated but very clean. The staff was friendly and all spoke fairly good english. The buffet down stairs was overpriced as expected but you are within walking distance to many local restaurants for some great food.
Simply great
Big, clean, safe, professional, good service, and almost all are good English speaking. Great at this price that I paid.
Very nice hotel in perfect location. Staff very friendly and most spoke english, which was most helpful. Car service excellent. Bar is rustic and very nice atmosphere, with excellent bartenders and service staff.
Beautiful hotel in a good location.
Vincent the concierge was very helpful.
Gloomy and old
Concierge was very helpful. They are the saving grace for the Hotel.
In the heart of Xi'an!
We spent 3 nights at this hotel and couldn't have been happier with the room, amenities, breakfast buffet, staff and location. This hotel is comparable to 5-star hotels in the city which are more expensive. I would absolutely stay here again.
Ok for one night, good location
The Grand Noble was an ok hotel in a good location, within walking distance (10 minutes) to the Bell Tower. The room was decent but the bed was ROCK hard which is traditional but we stayed at other hotels in China with far more comfortable bed. I wouldn't want to stay here for more than one night mostly because of room comfort. The staff was also not very helpful and would not help us call a taxi.
Good value for a good room
The hotel has a nice lobby and the appearance is very good. It's in a good location---not too far from the Bell Tower, the Metro and the city walls. The beds were a bit hard, but the room was clean and comfortable otherwise. A small bit of mildew in shower. Most of the staff spoke English.
The hotel is in an ideal location whereby just 5mins walk is into an ancient Walled City with many attractions.
Very good staff services. Room is decent.
Location is good. Very good breakfast and services.
Central Location, Good Value
For the price and location, this hotel provides good value. It was clean, the rooms were on the smaller side but decent, the water pressure was good, the water was hot, the wifi worked well, and the staff spoke a respectable English. The concierge helped me book a hotel car to take us to the Terracotta Warriors (about a 50 minute drive), and the driver was friendly and punctual. The breakfast was okay for a hotel buffet, if you like hotel buffets. My only complaint was that the hotel was filled with tour groups, and as we were leaving early in the morning, it took 15 minutes to get an elevator down to the lobby, and another 15 minutes to wait in line to check out. The lobby was pandemonium.
Couldn't recommend!
All in all I wouldnt recommend this hotel. Concierge very unhelpful - don't book restaurants, can't get you a cab to your chosen restaurant and when asked for a taxi to the airport booked us one costing 250yuan not 140yuan even though we queried this twice and they assured us it would be normal taxi price. Try to charge you for not returning your key card and unbearably hard beds (seriously unbearable). Abrupt and poor English skills. Breakfast like a scrum from 8-9:30 no seating available and too many people for restaurant size. Poor, very poor!
Convenient and Clean Hotel in center Xi'An.
Conveniently located in the center of the city with many bus routes available right in front of the hotel to take you to the places of your interest. Access to the historical sites, shopping centers, night markets, subway stations are all within walking distance.
Great location within city wall
From check-in to check-out there were no problems. The staff were always helpful. The breakfast was sumptuous - something for everyone and many offerings changed daily. The room was quiet and was almost always cleaned while we were having breakfast. 2 bottles of drinking water were left daily. The bar area is very nice - we had a nightcap one night. The hotel location is within the city wall, making it easy to get around by walking or going to the metro just 5 minutes away.
Nice hotel. A bit aged but good food!!
The experience was fine. The food was very good off the menu. We did not have the buffet. Hard bed. Bad non feather pillows. Lots of water provided. Clean.
Happy
Hotel location is good
perfect for a city trip of Xian
This hotel is perfectly situated, right in th heart of Xian. You can walk to Drum and Bell Tower, the Muslim Quarter, the City Walls and of course to the next Metro line Zhong Lou. You have plenty of local restaurants around where you have picture menus. You could also supply yourself from WalMart which is also just a 10min. walk away. The rooms are very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The buffet breakfast has a wide range of everything, Western and Chinese. The only downside I see here is the friendliness of the female staff, especially at the reception, they hardly ever smile and only give you very very short answers, some do not speak English. If you need a taxi just call it on the streets, if they call one for you, it is double the meterprice as they do it over some strange Chinese app.
Really comfy
Fantastic room which was very comfy. Relatively close to the south side of the Xi'an wall. Close to the drum and bell towers too.
Beautiful hotel staff not very friendly
Nice junior suite but no view except concrete walls. Made the room a bit cave-like. Door staff and room service great. Reception and spa were a bit off. Barely polite. Not sure why but we're very unhelpful.
Grand Noble Hotel Xi'an | Hotel in Xi'an | Travala.com
I was fortunate to be able to stay here for 10 days. It was perfect in every way - especially the quality of everything, and it was the only hotel in China during my month-long visit that had full-throttle internet - being able to get to sites that I couldn't get to from other hotels. The staff was very pleasant and hard-working.
