A dream
The staff was very friendly and had wonderful suggestions for places to it according to what we were seeking. Copenhagen reservations are highly recommended so it was handy they were able to make bookings. I was very lucky that when I arrived at 9 am they had a room available for me so I could get clean and get outside exploring. Truly excellent service. The "lobby" being more of a glam living room was my vibe. I always felt safe and the trains are so close by! Thank you to all at Grand Joanne!
Cute boutique hotel with very helpful staff. The locations is also really great. My 2 issues were that there is a lot of street noise in the rooms so bring you earplugs (luckily I always travel with some) and the room is so small there is literally no place to put your suitcase. I was in a king bed room as a solo traveler and had to put my suitcase in the windowsill, which was luckily very deep. I don’t mind a small room, and this one was well appointed and otherwise comfortable, but the lack of luggage space was inconvenient. If a coup,e was in the room it would be an even bigger issue.
Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel in a bustling area. Friendly staff. Very clean and quiet room. Immediate access to Central Station. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe the entire time of my stay.
Great centrally located hotel
Great hotel in the centre of Copenhagen was a great stay and the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the room while a little on the smaller side was very clean and comfortable
Wonderful Staff, rooms and decor. Lobby was inviting and staff were excellent.
Recommend
My go-to place for business trips to Copenhagen. I like the interior design ("boutiquey") and vibe. Not a boring chain hotel! Recommend.
Nice and cosy rooms. Good restaurant and bar in-house. Near the railway station but quiet. Within easy reach of Tivoli and the city center.
Everything I loved
Great spot in the center of Copenhagen with easy access to train to the airport
Convenient location for city centre and trains
Great designed hotel in the middel of Copenhagen. Amazongly convenient
Pleasant safe and clean
Lovely hotel …
Lovely hotel close to train station. Had a standard room which was small but nicely decorated. Only concern would be what a cozy room would be like. As it like I said was on the smaller side so opening a full size suitcase wasn’t possible. And therefore suitable for weekend traveller. But would definitely come again
We liked the overall vibes of the hotel and received good housekeeping service every day. The location of the hotel was also excellent near to the station, many eating places and supermarkets. The only downside was that there was no fridge in our rooms for our drinks and fruits and we were located on different floors due to the room type we had specified. The service staff at the restaurant were very good and gave us ice every night when we dropped by to keep our drinks cold in the room. We liked the service very much :)
Fantastic hotel, right next to the train station and Tivoli Gardens, walking distance to anywhere you would want to go. Will definitely be staying again
Nice property. The rooms are fairly small. We had an issue with hot water. The showers were cold
Not great
It’s good for a 2 night stay and must not have big luggage
Nicely designed room and bathroom. Small. Right next to central train station. Young vibe. Good furnishing. Limited amenities in room.
Modern and cozy
This hotel is in a great location that’s incredibly walkable. The hotel is updated and very clean! I strongly recommend this property for your stay in Copenhagen.
Great design, very calming. I was impressed walking into this hotel, since you can tell that there was a lot of thought that went into their design process. Immersed in a city centre, Grand Joanne allows you to “take a deep breath” and relax. Soothing pastels and a clean aesthetic, it is definitely a must see. The fitness centre and meeting rooms were also beautiful. While it is very close to the train station, I chose to rent one of their bikes. After riding around the city, I finished my day with some delicious food at their restaurant. My lovely Italian server made me feel very at home while traveling solo, so her service will be remembered. Thank you for a great stay!
Nice convenient place with good designs.
Room wasn’t the most basic room yet it was tiny, I had to shut my suitcase every time I wanted to use it. Hot water barely worked, it only worked for the handheld shower head, the overhead was freezing and I couldn’t wash my hair during the stay. The room wasn’t cleaned until 4pm, so we came back to a dirty room. Location is very good and the breakfast and bar, staff are friendly. However rooms are far too small and the lack of hot water, even after telling the staff ruined the stay.
Centrally located right near the Central Train Station, this beautiful and beautifully managed hotel, is perfect for sightseeing in Copenhagen.
Great location for our Xmas market visit, staff were fantastic, no issues with our overnight stay, thanks
Love the bathroom and Dyson hairdryer
Great stay. Convenient location. Warm and friendly staff
Excellent hotel, beautiful setting and great location. Will definitely return 😊
Great stay. The had the cozy room, it was exactly as listed on their options and was good for my stay. The hotel even had a steamer in my room to help with my event clothes. Great hotel.
I loved the ambiance, location, and service!
I stayed alone in a standard room for 2 nights. I would not stay again because the room doors open out into the hall so there is no extra door guard lock which, for me, was a safety concern. The standard room was very small - ok for one person but I think with luggage and 2 people it would be very tight. Hotel location is excellent and it is nicely presented.
Beautiful hotel. Design is gorgeous
Beautiful hotel! Comfortable And perfectly located near centra celebration- you can be anywhere within 10mins
Grand Joanne was very nice. Check in was less than expected due to a particular staff person and everyone else was wonderful. Great breakfast and good location. Suite was large, clean and comfortable. Stayed for 3 nights
This is a small boutique-style hotel that I found to be utterly charming. The staff were amazing – always helpful and friendly. The location is wonderful, being just around the corner from the main train station and the Tivoli Gardens. My room was comfortable and clean and the bed was good. The restaurant serves delicious Italian cuisine in the evening and has a lovely breakfast buffet. The ambience of the whole place was especially impressive. They have made the most of their space to offer their guests everything they need. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Small room, but stylish. Staff addressed concerns with poor lot. Good reception staff. Great location.
Excelent hotel
Centrally located. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very nice included breakfast. Only one con... no in-room safe.
Lovely one night stay at this cental hotel. Facilities were excellent and staff friendly, helpful and professional.Would certainly stay again and recommend.
We loved the Grand Joanne. Amazing location and good vibe. I can see us staying there again soon.
Great hotel. Cosy and stylish. Near Central station and Tivoli. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay.
excellent property - just perfect way to experience cph!
Beautiful boutique hotel with all you need in a gorgeous place. Excellent location. Great bar/restaurant and rooftop. Will def stay again.
Small but cozy. Everything nearby and convenient. Would be nice to bring your own luggage locks.
Copenhagen Comfortable Stay
2 blocks from Central Copenhagen train station and metro made for convenient exploration of the city sites. Walking was easy to get to many of the major attractions.
We had a lovely stay at the Grand Joanne. The service was excellent and the attentiveness of the staff was superb. We enjoyed our breakfast there every morning and the quality of the buffet was excellent. They billed us for laundry on our room that was not ours and they fixed the error right away after I pointed it out. We would definitely stay there again.
We loved the staff friendliness, the room had no view, and despite looking at an internal tour with no view, the first night we couldn't sleep as there was loud music coming from a night club nearby.Very difficult to get to the room, too many steps elevators etc especially with a heavy luggage . The room should have had a little fridge, more coffee, teas and milk -- mini bar with drinks would have been expected for the price. Breakfast was very good.
Great location
It is super close to the train station, easy to get there from the airport
Pros: Location one block from train station. Friendliness and helpful desk staff. Very good Italian restaurant on-site. Cons: overpriced for what it is. Simple small rooms. Penthouse is accessed via narrow hallways and two different elevators on different floors. No handrail on short stairway leading to penthouse elevator. In regular rooms section, doors to rooms open outward into a narrow hallway creating an unsafe situation for anyone walking down the hall at the time that a person is exiting a room. We almost hurt a poor guy (who was on crutches) that was walking in the hall just at the moment that we were opening our room door to leave. Penthouse room was disappointing in terms of amenities. No complimentary water or other snacks. All were fee-based in refrigerator. Decor was low-budget furniture. Bathroom sink area had no real storage. Shower turn-on knob was sensitive to adjust. No shower stall shelf or storage area for toiletries. Light switches were a confusing setup throughout the unit. Do not expect luxury despite label of "penthouse." You are getting a living room/dining corner with a larger bedroom. Same quality of furniture as a standard room, just more space. Will go back to my old reliable SAS Royal Collection in same location area.
Saturday nights at 11:30pm the fireworks at Tivoli literally across the road will wake you up and sound like Copenhagen is under an air bombardment. The hotel did not warn us about this. They did not provide ear plugs to block out the noise, which was physically painful since the fireworks are engineered to be extra loud and are extremely close. When we complained at reception, they did not offer compensation (not even breakfast, much less comping the night). Atrocious. (Also, carpet on the stairs could badly use some deep cleaning.)
Lovely updated and historic building. In a busy area but walkable and bikeable to all that Copenhagen has to offer. Loved the large staircase leading to all floors in the center of the hotel.
Exellent location to everything. Great breakfast options.
Everything was above and beyond! Excellent place to stay.
Great hotel
This is a lovely hotel near the train station. It was quiet, clean, and close to many neighborhoods, including less touristy ones. The room was small by American standards, but there is a lot to do nearby so we didn’t mind.
Property was very well located to food. Tivoli and great food. 5th trip to Copenhagen and one if the best stays.
The only good thing about this property was LEAVING. I have never stayed in a property with so many issues.
Personally wouldn’t stay again.
The room I booked was beautiful and clean, but small because I picked "cozy." However, the size of the room wasn't a big issue because it was only me. They went out of their way to make sure that I had extra towels and toiletries. I put the "do not disturb" sign on my door, and they left me a care package of items in case I needed them including extra coffee/tea, toiletries, towels, and toilet paper. It was a really nice touch.. There's snacks and water available in a beautiful lobby. Everything is really walkable to the best parts of the city. The bus tours all picked up and dropped off a couple of blocks from the place, so there is plenty to do. And Tivoli is right there. It was a fast walk to the train station and that helped me get on my plane on time. Everything was absolutely wonderful. My only thing that I would caution people is that you have to pay attention to the size of the room. The room size is posted when you select your room. I picked a room in the cozy section. The room was absolutely tiny. But I knew this ahead of time and it certainly was small but workable.
We had a small room with a queen bed. It was tight to move around but nicely appointed. The rain shower head was nice. As things are small the fact that the bed and decor was well done. The rooftop bar is lovely and a nice way to end the day. It is a 5 minute walk to Tivoli Gardens and right by the train station. They have bikes you can rent. Very nice stay.
A seamless accommodation experience that was stylish and sophisticated, with excellent customer service. Would highly recommend!
Great service
Staff very nice and accommodating as we arrived early from our flight. Breakfast was nice and relaxing. The location was very walkable.
Copenhagen must do!
This hotel is unbelievable. The hotel decor is amazing!! Impeccable attention to detail throughout. We booked the cozy room- it is very small however this suited us well. The hotel has bikes & umbrellas for you to get around with, staff were really friendly/helpful and can give local recommendations for food/drink places. Very good location, within walking distance of anything you’d need to see in Copenhagen! Food and drink also both amazing
Cool Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay here. Just steps away from Tivoli Gardens. The restaurant below had one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had (parpdelle w/ ragu). Highly recommend it. One downside was the long distance we had to go pushing our luggage. But since Denmark hotels in general do not have porter/bell boy services (not mini-bars) I forgive them!
Excellent Stay at the Grand Joanne
We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Joanne! The staff is super friendly and helpful, and always acknowledges you when you come and go. The rooms are very clean, soundproofed well and the the decor is cozy and hip. The bar has great drinks and food as well. The hotel is very centrally located in Vesterbro: it's only a 5-minute walk from the central train station, very close to Tivoli Gardens and a short walking distance from the other main tourist attractions. We also felt safe in the neighborhood, even at night. Look no further and make the Grand Joanne your home while staying in Copenhagen! She will welcome you with open arms!
Perfect weekend
Easy and fast to get to from airport via Metro. Location near Central Station made getting to all sights by bus or train convenient. Buffet breakfast had wonderful choices. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Room well kept. Rooftop bar had great views and drinks. Many thoughtful touches…umbrellas, bikes and heated bathroom floor!
Great place to stay. Cozy rooms.
This hotel is in a great location with a great restaurant and great service both inside and outside the room. The only setback for us was that the standard rooms are quite cozy. At some points it was difficult for two people to navigate simultaneously. That said, this isn’t unexpected…. Just something to consider in the future.
Nice hotel and great staff ! We had an issue with the shower tab in our first room and moved to another room which also had a leak the last night but overall pleasant stay
I think it all comes down to management. Too much pressure on staff is visible. Iys capaitalism, but lets not loose our humanity ;)
Comfortable compact room. Excellent breakfast. Near central station so can be noisy.
Loved the location everything was so easy and walkable the staff were amazing and the quality of the room fabulous a little gem in copenhagen
Love the rooms cozy clean .Close walk to beach
Nice hotel, handy for public transport
Very handy location for taking the train and using the metro. A nice hotel, maybe a 20-minute walk from where we spent more of our time going out for food and drink and sights.
Absolutely loved this hotel. Great bar, beautiful rooms, and excellent service.
Fantastic staff and a really warm welcome. Room was great and the hotel was really handy for sightseeing and nightlife in the meat packing area. Only thing I’d say is the lights were a bit of getting used too. Would definitely recommend 👌
this is an excellent hotel for what its category and price ( four stars, near the central train station but without the noise, also near Tivoli and many dining options, not sure if it’s the entire town or only our area but Copenhagen was very safe). Most of the staff members were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel overall was clean, nice and in an excellent location for us. Although not needed the AC and ventilation was excellent. The room blinds didn’t provide complete block from sunlight ( or maybe we didn’t know if there is an option, in any case sunrise was around 7 am and so that wasn’t an issue for us as we wake up early during this trip). Make sure to check the size of the room that works for you best as sizes may seem small to some travelers. We booked 3rd option up and that was good. I’d stay here again and I would recommend it to others.
Great, updated property right next to the train station. We were only there for a night but it was perfect for walking into the city with lots of dining all around it.
Wonderful hotel, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. Sadly only stayed for one night, but look forward to returning again soon.
Love every bit of this beautiful boutique hotel. Charming beyond compare.
wonderful Copenhagen
Great location, close to everything you'd want to do and just steps from the train station. Nice onsite restaurant with a tasty breakfast, nices wines. Weather permitting the roof deck bar is a great place to hang. Superb staff.
Excellent stay
The hotel is central to everything. It is clean, and has a lovely restaurant and bar in the hotel. Staff is helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.
Centrally located, clean hotel. Pleasant vibe
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Rooms are well designed and has everything you need. I find the space is enough for 1-2 people. Will definitely stay here again!
Very welcoming and efficient staff. Area felt safe and multiple dining options within walking distance. Thank you for a lovely stay
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Joanne! The staff was helpful (shoutout to my new friend Rocky at the bar!), the entire hotel was beautifully appointed, and the location was perfect for getting around by train or bike or walking through Vesterbro. Highly recommend for the feeling of luxury at an attainable price point.
Loved the small touches of this hotel! Beautifully decorated, lovely room, great bar and rooftop bar and close to shops, restaurants and train/buses. Perfect!
Night Manager Richard Ruined Stay!
Our 3-night stay was very nice up until the last night when Richard, the Night Manager, seeing that we are an LGBTQ couple - we were kissing in the bathroom at 1am (big deal!), told us that “this is his hotel” and that we were “no longer welcome” there that night. He was clearly on a power trip and abusing his authority and made it obvious he was homophobic. We went back to our room and spent the night tossing and turning wondering if you were going to get kicked out - over a kiss. And no, we were not drinking, doing drugs, being loud or disruptive, or disturbing the peace in any way. It was an extreme overreaction by Richard, and I would never stay here again because of him. I would also advise LGBTQ folks to stay elsewhere.
Excellent
I really like the ambience of this property. The decor and furnishings are nice and on trend. I appreciate the cold water and fruit for the use of guests.
The hotel itself is lovely but the rooms need updating. The bathroom layout means you are showering next to the toilet which is very unpleasant and with no door and the entire room gets soaked. The rainfall shower means it’s impossible to not get your hair wet and the handheld shower attachment is so low that you cannot solely use this to shower unless holding it in one hand. The beds are too big for the room meaning there is no floor space to unpack your bags and you have to squeeze past to walk around the room. These things do not sound like huge issues but means the experience is less relaxing and more stressful and untidy.
Property was great location close to the train station, most spots were walkable from the hotel. Access to the room involved catching a lift to 1st floor then dragging suitcase down a corridor to another lift, not a great hardship.
Absolutely excellent stay during Eurovision week. Perfect location close to central station and Tivoli. Would stay here again if we visit Copenhagen!
Excellent location for exploring Copenhagen
Extremely convenient location for the station and walking around central Copenhagen, but a very nice and quiet hotel. Staff were friendly and efficient. Loved the free water and fruit in reception.
Perfect stay
Such a lovely hotel, with really nice design and the friendliest of staff. Breakfast staff were amazing, with a choice of coffee, many item, and buffet including meats, cheeses, pastries, juices, yogurts. We had the deluxe room, which included a mini sofa and TV area which we used to watch Eurovision. Gym is well equipped and the rooftop had great vibes
Great location and staff are very friendly. The cozy rooms are small but if you’re out all day it doesn’t really matter.
The staff were uniformly welcoming and delightful Place was quiet and ,at the same time, had a buzz. Restaurant was delicious. Beds comfortable. Beautiful and fun rooftop bar and lovely patio on floor 1
Our original room was so small we had to walk sideways around the bed. After a discussion we were moved to a larger room. Several stairs in the hallway meant we had to haul our cases up and down. With no handrail this was a little precarious.
