Great place. Room service in my last day was not good (cold soup, club sandwich disappointing, Marguerita pizza with cherry tomatoes). Overall, excellent hotel, I’m planning to return.

One thing I liked about was quiet no disturbances at night wile you are at sleep. I didn’t like the fact that the room photos at the website is not exactly what i expected and the staff taking away to long to even try to fix any issues, also shower and toilet was smelling like sewage and the sink was draining very slowly.

My room was spacious, modern and a lovely balcony.

The front desk service was not pleasant. Especially the tall male that was working between 10am til 11:30 am on August 19. I felt like they didn’t want to help us when we arrived at 7am from a long overnight red eye flight! I understand check in is st 3pm but I travel ALOT to know I can be accommodated if I arrive early. I even notified the company 2 days prior before check in to try to receive early checkin but no one responded. Everybody that was checking in after us received pleasant service and a room key but we was the only ones waiting!

The security people Felipe and Renato were so disrespectful and rude they insulted me and almost violently push me in front of my 8 years old boy.

Hotel is very nice, clean, and in good location. Very far from tourist area, which I knew before booking, but I regret. Staff was friendly. My biggest issue is that when I checked out, the hotel left a pending charge on my card for 31 days with my stay and with the room hold. I called for weeks and nobody answered or returned my calls or emails. Other than that, good hotel.

I initially was concerned about the location of the resort as it was quite far from where the "touristy" beaches (Copacabana and Ipanema) were, but I was glad I made a reservation. If you want a lesser crowded beach with the ability to relax and unwind, this is the hotel/resort to be. I absolutely loved it!!! I highly recommend it to anyone.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. I traveled solo and I felt safe. The resort is far from all tourist attractions so you don’t get a hotel pickup when booking outside from the concierge table so you will have a Uber. Ubers is not expensive . Pool area is beautiful but closes at 7:00 pm and the breakfast was wonderful. 10/10

Kids club great but not sure I’d leave my children there without parent because not really much staff just one at the door. beach across road was perfect, quiet and the most clean out of all beaches on the coast. Pool was great and rooms super clean.

We liked the hotel but service was poor when we arrived since there was no one outside to receive our bags in the evening. I appreciated they extended few hours for the late checkout. Oceanview waa perfect from our room.

If you are going to Rio, look no further! I stayed here and it was absolutely amazing! The food, the hotel and drinks were all top-notch. The staff was “Chik-fil-A” level service and completely helpful. The only regret is that I didn’t stay here the entire time I was in Rio and suffered at some of the properties on Copacabana. If I come to Brazil again, I’m not even questioning where to stay.

The area where the hotel is located is one of the best in Rio and the safest. The hotel rooms they are not in the best condition, really worn out to be a kind of new ish hotel. Poor cleaning and maintenance.

I had a nice stay ! Staff here did a fantastic job in customer service and overall very genuine people. Thank you! As for housekeeping ..:.they need a lot of improvement. My first room was covered in mold in the bathroom , the shower was broken where the mold accumulated by the drain. The bed skirt was filthy and the drain patio still had cup stains on the table. It also smelled damp and mildewy. Front desk changed my room without an issue, I showed pictures and I was given a humble apology. The next room was still ehh. The carpet was not vacuumed …not once since I was there. The same crumbs or whatever it was, never was removed. I Didn’t bother reaching out since I spent a lot of time touring , perhaps I should’ve. Overall the hotel is lovely, but my two rooms were not up to par . 7/10 rating. Also worth mentioning , there are a lot of stains on the facility furniture! Everywhere I went there are visible stains in the seats. It would be wise to not just wipe the areas clean but also use stain removers accordingly. Children and dogs are permitted and I found the children to be very loud in the dining area, specifically the sushi restaurant which has a more classy vibe. Thanks to the concierge and the staff in the spa, y’all are rockstars in my book!

The hotel was great with beach and pool service. The staff are super helpful… especially Fernanda. The only draw back is the pool service is slow.

The rooms were well appointed with amazing views and an extremely comfortable bed. The pool area is also large and inviting. However, the service is very poor by comparison. It did not live up to a five star reputation in the service department. My personal experience was NOT the best Lack of attention to our request constantly, like in room service drinks was very much medium for prices we paid. Additionally, the food is quite bland and our food orders were messed up multiple times.

The hotel is clean and well maintained, the staff are friendly and accommodating and my experience at the hotel was a positive one, I enjoyed it and would recommend this property and would go back.

Special shout-out to the concierge service. They were excellent, especially Ingrid.

Lovely hotel in a great area

The Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro was warm and welcoming. The staff provided the most friendly service you could ask for. The food was impeccable and the ambience was like a dream. I would highly recommend this property to any traveler who knows and wants a quality stay. I'll be going back most certainly.

Great hotel, unfortunately it was high summer in Rio and there were lots of families, normally we would go to adult only hotel during school holidays, our mistake for not checking. I am sure the experience would have been different in the off season, also this hotel is a conference hotel

Todo fue excelente. La piscina no está climatizada así que no la pudimos usar porque esos días hizo frío. Quizás puedan considerar climatizarla. Las botellitas de agua que te dan son un buen servicio pero contaminan mucho (no es eco-friendly), quizás podrían colocar dispensers de agua. Los animadores del kids club a veces no hacían las actividades que tenían promocionadas en la agenda del día. Pero igual fueron muy amables, al igual que todo el personal del hotel. Imperdible la excursión que organiza el hotel por la laguna de Marapendi en barco y con una guía bióloga que explica todo. El kids club podría abrir hasta las 19hs, ya que de 17 a 19hs ya no se puede ir a la playa o nadar.

This hotel was very beautiful. Many amenities were offered (pool access, beach access, bike rentals, etc.). The food was delicious. The staff was very kind, accommodating and attentive. A visit to SPA IS A MUST!!!!! One of the best massages I have ever had. The area was very safe and Uber’s were always available (for cheap). I highly recommend this hotel!!

Melhor estrutura do Rio

Ah, o Grand Hyatt... Esse hotel sempre teve a melhor estrutura do Rio. Muito superior ao Fasano, ao Emiliano e ao Fairmont. O mais próximo talvez seja o Sheraton Grand, porém com um detalhe. Nesse último você fica muito restrito à praia do Vidigal, que por ser encravada no local, acaba sendo muito cheia (fora as limitações de horários de acesso, já que o hotel recolhe as escadas). Enfim, o Hyatt, na minha opinião, pecava por uma coisa: qualidade do serviço de atendimento ao hóspede. Não falo aqui de um atendimento artificialmente cortês. O que se espera é um atendimento real, humano, que realmente valorize a relação cliente-hotel. E, nesse quesito, parece que o Hyatt tem passado por alterações muito positivas. Na última hospedagem destaco o atendimento do gerente de recepção, Felipe, que atuou ativamente para garantir que todas as minhas expectativas fossem atendidas. Mais, atuou para que o Hyatt tivesse um atendimento à altura de sua estrutura e da rede cuja bandeira carrega. Parabéns!

It’s our third time staying at this Grand Hyatt property. We love it. The rooms are well appointed and have great views. The restaurants are very good and the staff helpful. Finally the location is amazing for a family wishing to enjoy the beach. We highly recommend.

Loved the location despite it being at least 30-40 minutes from Leblon Copa Ipanema and the centro, the hotel literally has it's own beach which is totally open for use. Clean and friendly staff, some even spoke spanish and most knew english. A wonderful stay

The hotel was superb in every aspect. The staff was extremely courteous and attentive; the room was very comfortable, spacious and very clean; the property was conveniently located and nicely designed.

This is THE place to stay in Rio. The exemplary staff makes you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. The guest services team has all of the answers to questions you may have while in the city.

What a dream! I stayed at Grand Hyatt Resort Rio De Janeiro for a 2 nights for my birthday in 2021. Stepping through the lobby, I was immediately struck by the beautiful reception area. Light, airy and very spacious...very welcoming atmosphere. The breakfasts were amazing. All the other amenities like gym and pool were fantastic. The beach is right across the street and its near a beautiful environmental reserve. I stayed in room 471 with a great view of the lake and the beach. It was perfect to see the sunset. It was also very spacious and well equipped with all essentials.The staff will steal your heart. Throughout the hotel they were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. Always greeting and smiling to us. They took the extra mile on everything and because of that I’m definitely coming back!

A great resort next to the ocean. Spacious rooms, nice breakfast, decent gym and pool, spa. Shiso restaurant on the premises is almost a must-visit. There is a cycle path of more than 10km close by. The only drawback is that the place got 4 years old since our last visit, somewhat lost its freshness and novelty.

Amilcar, William and Rickerson provided excellent customer service! Dislikes - bathtub could be a bit bigger, didficult to fit 2 people comfortably. Loud noise from being in the flight path.

The staff in the hotel best I seen in my travels they where fantastic above expectation .food and breakfast 5 stars .the only thing I have negative about place is bathrooms near pool you have to go stairs to basement level to go there and I think it’s to small of a pool for size hotel .also a hot tub I think should add for adults .i know brazil is hot but after long flight to Rio or been about town it’s good to have .also the adult side of it need be more monitored I personal encounters more family’s bring there infants to that side .but over all best staff I ever seen

Property was very nice, Hyatt spent good amount of money on Decor and finishes. I wish restaurant would serve more of a local touch food, but overall excellent place to stay.

We loved the Grand club and our Grand Suite with the lagoon view. We did not like the cleanliness of our room and the fact that most of the hotel staff ignores you unless you greet them first or ask them something. Most of them were friendly but they should greet guests with a big smile all the time in corridirs, elevstora and other public areas

Grand Hyatt is a beach front luxury hotel in Barra. Service is outstanding both at lobby as well as restaurants. Japanese restaurant recently won an award and is worth visiting. Consider it is far from Rio’s major tourist attractions: some 25 km which always take at least an hour given the heavy traffic. Also note few rooms host 4 people so it isn’t very family friendly (a regular family of 4 will need 2 rooms). We did enjoy it and would go back any time !
