One Night Stay
Basic room with small shower (not power) . Great location as near Gare du Nord and easy access to the usual tourist spots. If it’s a romantic weekend then this isn’t the hotel or area to stay, but 1 night ~ place to rest your head then this is perfectly fine. I have to say on a positive note the bed was very comfortable.
Hotel Near Gare du Nord.
I was in Paris for a couple of days for work. There is someone there 24 hours but if you come down early there is no one there and the lights are off and you don't know whether you will get back in after you got breakfast. Someone did eventually see me there, came out and said I could buzz to get back in but its not really true 24 hour front desk. Room was small but layout is good so that it does not feel so small. Floor could probably do with a sweep and a mop. Bathroom was recently renovated which was nice. Good location.
Great on a budget
The room was ultra basic, but clean, a decent size, the bathroom was clean, no coffee/tea facilities, but did have a TV and WiFi.
Stay away
I knew ir was a budget hotel but this is an over-prized dormitory. Very noisy, very uncomfortable bed, very old and needs urgent make-over. Only plus is next to Gare du Nord
Excellent
Great location, right on junction of main bus route and a veryvshort walk from the Gare Du Nord. Staff was welcoming. However black mould in bathroom (all around and on the doors to balcony!) Was very off putting and the main reason for such a low rating. Along with other reviews the heating/humidity can be a bit unbarable- with so close to the main road opening the doors to balcony at night isnt really an option for a peaceful nights sleep. Its ideal for a one nights stay in paris as a stop over du to its location and affordability. Was unaware that bed would be changed and towels would be gicen daily (if known this in advance ibwould have never left any personal propperty in plain sight)
A basic hotel with no frills which served as a great base for our short stay. Near to Metro and easy to find from main station. They kindly kept our luggage safely on the last day so we didnt have to drag it about
It's a basic affordable hotel, room perhaps a bit dated but quite spacious for Paris standards. Perfect location for Gare du Nord.
Good value for money great location
Good value for money . Close to Eurostar. Friendly staff. Will come again
Close to all transportation. Lots of restaurants nearby. Hotel old but clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful.
Excellent location and service.
I was disappointed
The hotel is run down. The shower had mold in it. The towels were ragged and thin.
The hotel was great value for money. Basic but very clean and in a great location. The family room was like 2 rooms. It was probably the best size family room I have stayed it. We were really impressed with this hotel at a great price for Paris.
Nice stay
I stayed 5 nights with two kids. The first night was a bit bumpy as our room was heading towards the Main Street and even at night it was noisy with ambulances (hospital nearby) and a squeaky metro (?) circulation outside. But after we changed rooms we enjoyed it a lot: very friendly staff, clean and brighter room, sunny balcony, good mattresses. The hotel is centrally located with lots of nice cafes and restaurants nearby. A bus station is right in front of the house, Metro is also close. The rooms are ok (a few things could need some repairs, like drawers, windows, shower) but still good value for the money. Thank you, Hotel Magenta.
Staff are very nice and helpful
Great value for money. Very clean, friendly staff and felt very safe.
Thank you very much
Good, but it can improve
In general, it was clean, but the room was a little dark for my taste. All the plugs in the room were falling apart and the water was pouring out of the edge of the tub.
There is nothing grand about this hotel. Well maybe the staircase which needs major cleaning. The lift/elevator is very small so if you are claustrophobic it’s the stairs for you. The room was very tiny with the toilet and shower on either side of the room. You cannot close the door to use the toilet because there is literally no space to. The shower was so tight it was a challenge to move around. It was definitely convenient to the train station but, that was it. In general I would consider this hotel/hostel a rip off and should not be advertised on your site
Reasonable and functional.
This hotel is perfectly functional - you get what you pay for! It’s a stones throw from Gare du Nord, it’s perfectly located to get you all around the city very easily. The room was small, clean and basic. Right in the middle of a capital city, we could hear street noise, but it didn’t keep us awake. The staff are incredibly friendly. We would use this hotel again.
Great hotel for our last night in Paris before heading back home. We appreciated the family room. Great views and clean and comfortable.
Staff did yhe best they can with English. Location is perfect. Property is old but the room and service was fabulous.
I could not get refunded even though I had to cancel my stay.
Arrived very late. The hotel is very dated however this is reflected in the price. I has a top floor room in the attic. It was cosy with towels and toiletries supplied. The bed I found very comfortable :)
Good locations for a very reasonable price.
Very nice hotel and a great location near Gare de Nord , literally 3 min from station pp
Light in the room a little bit dark
The reception area wasn't appealing and outdated. However, the room and bathroom were big. Spotless clean. Other than same police cars' siren, It was quiet at night. We got good sleep.
If you wish I can send you pictures, we were shocked at the reception area. The bed was comfortable enough but the room was very basic. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all!!
The staff was very helpful and the place was nice and clean. Can come and stay again.
I can’t remember the name of the man at the front desk, but honestly he was very welcome and helpful giving us instructions to move around. That to me was the highlight of this place.
This is a nice place to stay and the staff are lovely and very helpful
Super friendly people and a nice place to stay. Super convenient to the train station.
Staff pleasant and friendly. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Like a lot of these older buildings the lift was tiny which I could see being an issue for some people. Really handy for Gare du Nord, Metro and RER trains.
Great location and value.
The hotel is very close to the Gare Du Nord train station, lots restaurants and shops around the area. It is generally safe to walk around. It is in the walking distance to the church on the mountain top, which has a great view of Paris.
Service needs improvement
We booked 2 rooms, but he made the mistake with the other. So we had to wait for 1/2 hour to switch the rooms for us. No compensation to us.
Bathroom wasn't clean, shower didn't drain.
A budget value hotel closely situated yo the Gare du Nord easily within walking distance. Room was clean, compact and everything worked. Also was very pleased to find a local market Marche Saint Quentin on the same road about 500 metres away. A beautiful covered market where we bought pate, cheese and red wine for around 15 Euros. Coupled with a demi baguette and 2 different pastries from a nearby boulangerie for 3.90 Euros. All for our picnic on the Eurostar later the next day.
Property was in a good location near the main train station. It wasnt as clean as i expected. There was mould in the bathroom.
The location . Almost everything is walkable from here. Train station next door. Good nice restaurants nearby. We walked to Louvre, Montmartre and other places. Room condition was really good and cleanliness top notch. Nice people at hotel also kept our luggage after checkout and overall, our experience was great.
I live the fact that this location is close to the train station. There are plenty of restaurants and convenient stores around the corners. The checkin process was quick and the manager was nice and friendly. The downside about this property is that it is very outdated. There is no air conditioning. A section of our balcony fence which is broken is repaired with wire. If you are needing an affordable place just to sleep, this is the right location.
Property is conveniently located to many restaurants and there is easy access to transportation. It is within walking distance of Gare du Nord. Cons: no refrigerator in the rooms – this should be standard in 2023. Also, they did not even have an iron. This is not acceptable.
Quad room for 4 and plenty of room! Great bathroom, comfy beds and friendly helpful staff. Mins away from Nord Station so convenient to get around. All you can ask for when travelling on a budget!
Bueno
Muy buena ubicación Camas regulares En general bien
Good
Good location, clean room.
Great hotel in the city without spending a lot. Great views of Paris city and boulangerie right next door.
Great stay!
It was a great stay! We were greeted by the friendliness guy! The room was spacious, the bathroom was terrific, and the location and views amazing. I’d stay her again and again!
I WILL GIVE IT 2 START
THE HOTEL WAS FAR FROM THE CITY VERY EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT IT WAS, NOT A NICE PLACE VERY OLD, MOLD IN BATHROOM AND IN A BAD SHAPE.
This is an older property but was fairly well maintained except for some things were not so good due to the age of the building. There were multiple resteraunts in the area that offer very good French cuisine. There were several shops that offer a wide range of goods. The hotel is about a block and a half from a major train station and busses are running on a regular basis. The location was good to experience Parisian life.
Great hosts with a great location and beautiful view from the windows
Prijs kwaliteit een hotel waar je goed kan verblijven. Dicht in de buurt van gare du Nord en andere metro stations. Binnen een paar minuten sta je midden in het centrum. Vriendelijke mensen die je iedere keer begroeten.
Great hotel as a jumping base Not great if you have a pram as the metro is a nightmare for access to the centre and sites however that is not the hotels fault it is just something to keep in mind . Hotel staff were accommodating .
Good location for Gare du Nord
This hotel ticked the boxes for what we needed it for. The location was perfect as it's just round the corner from Gare du Nord, it was generally clean but the room was just a little tired and in need of some updates. It was perfect for what we needed it for but probably wouldn't stay for more than one night
Great experience
I was leary about staying here because of some of the reviews, but we had a great experience. The building is a little older, as are many in France, but that is it's charm. It had large windows, that could be opened to allow Paris in. It was on a main road, close to the metro, with tons of restaurants within walking distance. There was some street noise, but gosh, you're in the heart of Paris, so some is to be expected. There was no a/c, but nice fans were provided. Those fans and the great breeze coming in the windows, kept the room so cool. I give this place a thumbs up and was glad i took a chance on it.
Good value for money
Good value for money for the location close to Gare du Nord. No nonsense room with clean towels and ok beds.
Budget friendly hotel
Overalls our stay was manageable. I read all the reviews before we went. I expected no a/c, small elevator, run down front desk, noisy street outside. But the room was clean.
Great location, close to the train station and city sights. Friendly staff and clean room.
I saw some mixed reviews about the hotel so was a little apprehensive. I can happily say it’s fantastic value, the rooms were clean and tidy with a wrap around balcony. Highly recommend this place.
The hotel is in terrible condition. The only good thing is that the hotel is very close from the train station Gare du nord.
Not worth it
It was not worth the money, the lights from the outside coming in through the windows and noise from next door rooms and street was so loud that we couldn't get any sleep.
Could be more clean
Not as clean or spacious as the photos would suggest.
Bien pero con ruido a la noche
A las noches mucho ruido, en el pasillo otros huespedes hablado alto y gritando. Muy bien conectado.
.
The window in my room was broken, it was super cold. There was no hot water to shower. There was no heater system apparently it broke and they didn’t inform the guests. If I knew I would have stayed somewhere else. When the staff was asked about the heating situation they couldn’t care less to have it fixed quickly.
Avoid if you can, no more than 1 night
The room was barely clean. The window in the bathroom was broken letting the cold in. When I mentioned it, the guy at the concierge told me to complain here. There are 2 electric socket. In short, worst stay ever.
Paris in March
The heater was out during our stay and we were not notified that we had to leave our key at the front desk when we leave the hotel and grab it when we returned. This is different from getting hotels in the USA. Also the middle door between rooms did not close and give us and our friends privacy.
Avoid this place; it is a dump
Very unpleasant. Booked a family suite, but found they had none and we were split between 2 rooms. Rooms were overheated and with no way to control the radiators; we had to leave the window open (noisy!). Dingy and run-down entrance, with no common spaces so it feels more like a prison than a hotel.
Never Again
I know it’s a cheap place to stay but the room we stayed had bedbugs! And super noisy for the weekend nights stay, I couldn’t sleep at all due to the combination of these negative factors.
Good stay
Good location,clean and comfy
Great location and good price. Had a room with a great balcony.
Did not have anything very simple rooms. You get what you pay for.
Insects in bed
There were insects living in our bed....
Very bad. No heater bad attitude of the staff , no cleanliness. I will not stay again.
Very friendly staff - particularly the cleaning crew, one of whom sang happily the whole time she worked. The room amenities are OK, but there were minor maintenance problems such as a badly installed shower fitting (loose), but overall the place offers excellent value for money and is very conveniently situated. I’ve stayed there before, and will happily do so again.
Paris trip
It was great. Close to the train station and restaurants.
It was good I clean. hot water works really good.
In the room and in our beds were countless bed bugs. They were everywere. We booked room for two nights, but we stayed till 5 o'clock in the morning and we left. Never stay in this hotel.
Location location location
Best thing about this hotel was definitely the location. It is right in the heart of everything. The hotel itself was older but clean. Really good value
Location was good for catching Eurostar. Outside look of the hotel is not that good. But the room was nice for 4 people.
Ok need remodel facility and need A/C due heat wave not help FAN very well
I was surprise with the hotel. At first, i was not expected anything because the price is low
Beware of Bed Bugs :-(
My daughter was attack by bed bugs and still paying the price two days later. She slept in the twin bed and under the covers. My son and I each had a bed and didn’t use the bedding, we were sparred! The location and friendly staff were the best part of our one-night stay. But it’s been incredibly hot and there is no air conditioning. The room looks clean and had adequate furnishings.
Clean bike the fridge was hot and didn’t keep anything cold. They have a stairs and a very small elevator/loft with a capacity of 2.
You came to explore Paris, not sit in a hotel room
The Grand Hotel Magenta should not be confused with the Grand Hotel Budapest, but it is a good place to stay, in Paris, on a budget. What it does have, is excellent access to Paris' practical public transportation system. Close to Gare du Nord and Gare Magenta, the Metro and the bus lines all converge near this hotel.
Great locationn
Great location with lots of buses and trains nearby. The room was nice with lots of windows and quite spacious for a Paris hotel. My only complaint is the elevator doesn't start until the 2nd floor so if you come with a lot of luggage, you'll be walking up the first flight with it but other than that, it was great.
Location to the train station is great! The hotel interior could do with an update.
Small and serviceable
Good clean hotel , close to all we needed
average hotel with average price very near to main station
Hotel room is clean and near to Gare Du Nord station. Bad is the lift very scary and noisy Security poor . Anyone can take lift and go to hotel room which is dangerous to hotel guest.
I had to pay 2 euro extra and it was not mentioned with Expedia.
I was mislead at booking so would have never booked a 1Star The room was fun but. we’d a good clean bed needs changing & towels very old noisey !!!
Very good hotel, close to the city center and also to airport CDG. Metro station is very close to hotel and also Monmartr. Perfect location. One night was 30e. The room was clean and comfortable and it has a nice view. For such a small amount a money perfect!
The property owners are fantastic
