It was a clean, nice property a stones throw away from the leaning tower of Pisa. Good food, and courteous staff.

This hotel was perfect for our trip to Pisa! Everything was within walking distance. We had beautiful views of the Leaning Tower of Pisa from the rooftop terrace. Hotel staff were friendly and checkin was easy.

Perfect location a couple of minutes walk to Tower of Pisa/ square of miracles. Loved the hotels roof top terrace to watch sunset over Tower and square. Lovely breakfast (fresh warm pastries!) and comfortable room. Check in and out was straight forwards, polite staff. We managed to walk to the airport in about 40 mins. Pisa Centrale station was also easily accessible by walking. Thank you!

Location was great, staff super friendly. Room was very clean. Breakfast was good. But soundproofing is the worst I’ve ever experienced. At night you can hear everything inside or outside Hôtel. I could hear other guests trying to close shutters to get some quiet but it makes no difference until restaurants close and finally everyone leaves between 23-12pm. Then it’s comfortable and quiet.

I think this is the first time I write a review like this but I feel like it’s my responsibility to let other people know. Sadly this hotel is very old and it shows. Not clean at all. I would like to be able to put the pictures here… There was a LOT of dust (like clouds of dust under the bed, in the corners and in the floor behind the curtains). The bed fitted had hole on it 😳, the towels were stained, didn’t smell well and you can tell that they are old or have been used for a long time. The shower was clogged and you can hear every single noice from other rooms and from outside the room. On the other side, the location was great and the terrace has a beautiful view of the leaning tower and Basilica.

Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for the Tower, Rooms are a little bit dated and in need of updating, but very clean. Bed was very comfortable so good nights sleep. One thing that could be added would be tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.

Great location. Very dated hotel. Beds are hard, we also issues with mosquitos as other reviews shared. There’s also no soundproofing. We could hear our neighbors full conversations and hear them use the bathroom.

The hotel is very close to the leaning tower and Cathedral. The rooms were small and need some repair particularly the radiators which were rusty. The staff need to be more cordial and understanding. While having breakfast one of the guests asked for more bread and the staff replied that they should have come early. This was very unprofessional

This property is in a nice spot and the tower is visible from the balvony. Primary reason we stayed there; however,no one mentioned to us in advance when we booked car parking that due to ztl restrictions the streets around the hotel are not accesible if you are drivibg .We called the hotel and we were told what street to park on and walk to the hotel .We had the option to leave the car there or get permit to bring the car to the hotel parking garage. No fair warning was given to also haul our luggage with us due to high rate of car break ins . We parked and left the luggage in the trunk. By the time we checked in and returned to the car, the car was broken into and our luggage and backpacks from the trunk were all gone. When we called the hotel to let them know that our arrival to their parking garage will be delayed due to the break in they actually discouragef us from contacting the police because they will not do anything for us.

2024 December Summary

Our stay was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The roof garden was nice, the restaurant was not open the night we went so it was very dark and no seating available unless you went down a floor, still dark and small but quaint. The bar area was pleasant, and the breakfast was good. The bed was very comfy as well. We struggled with the shower some trying not to get water outside the tub, but great water pressure. It was a beer calm, quiet visit. We were told this was the slow season and they don’t decorate for Christmas until the weekend before it. However, the hotel did have a Christmas tree. Which was very nice for the holiday feel.

Hotel is very close to Piazza dei Miracoli. Very walkable with many shops and restaurant's close by. Some of the restaurants are a little touristy but that can be changed with a 5 minute walk. Lovely terrace on the top floor with a great view of the city. Parking is slightly complicated with the location of the hotel as the roads are closed to non local traffic but a parking lot is not to far away

Great location for bars, restaurants and the tower complex. Can be hard to get a good night sleep given the area is busy with students, tourists and the soundproofing is almost non-existent given the age of the building

It was as central situated as you can ask for, regarding the distance to the Duomo and the Tower! The hotel was modern and clean and had a varied and good breakfast.

Great hotel, fantastic location!

We stayed for a night in Pisa and chose this hotel to stay. It was very reasonable for its location. The hotel itself is a little dated but its perfect for a short stay. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The terrace has the most amazing view and I would highly recommend sitting up there. The only downfall is you cant grab a drink of any sort from the bar until 7pm. Overall we were very happy with our stay and if we were to return to Pisa we would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel, very close to the leaning tower area, about 20 minutes walk from the train station, breakfast was good, we had a room with a great view of the leaning tower.

Location of the hotel is its main asset as it is so close to the main tourist attractions of the area and is easy to reach from both the train and airport. Staff were very polite and helpful in all areas. My room was clean and comfortable but could have used a bit of TLC.

Great Location

This hotel has obviously been grand in its day but it is now very dated and not what expect for the price I paid. The furnishings are decades old, the handle on the window to close it tight was broken off and missing which allowed mosquitoes in and the room was boiling. There was a fan under the window that looked like a heater but blew out cool air but didnt really help. We were there on a warm October day and can't even imagine what it is like in summer with 30 °. There is an outdoor bar and rooftop restaurant which we kept being told had to be booked, however, we popped up for a look and both the bar and restaurant were empty although this may not be the case in the summer. We were very disappointed after looking forward to our trip for months and would never return unless they had a full refurbishment.

The residence is very clean and well maintained for being old. The building could use renovation with more sound proofing. Other than that it is a great, clean and convenient place to stay while in Pisa.

Good location, but the old Grand hotel needs a full renovation to become a modern hotel.

The property is conveniently located near shops, restaurants & attractions. The staff is friendly & helpful. Due to its location and the age of the building It’s quite loud inside and out. We also had a small issue with the power going on & off after using the blow dryer. FABULOUS view from roof top terrace. Definitely worth a drink or dinner!

Great location

Great location, right near Pisa and plenty of places to eat nearby as well as a restaurant in the hotel. Rooftop bar has amazing view of Pisa and a must if staying here. Breakfast is buffet and mainly continental but a good choice. Would highly recommend this hotel

This hotel was a great value, right next to the Field of Miracles (Campo dei Miracoli) which includes the Basillica of Santa Maria Assunta (free entry, but you need a timed voucher), Leaning Tower, etc; and a ton of restaurants. The hotel is a little dated, but comfortable. Good bed, spacious and well-equipped bathroom, minibar with 4 complimentary bottles of water, plentiful but mediocre breakfast. The staff was helpful and friendly, and arranged a shared shuttle to the airport for us (20 euros). If I am Pisa again I would probably stay here, unless I wanted to get away from the crowds.

Good hotel

The hotel was good, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel also had a safe in the room which we weren’t expecting but used. There were lovely restaurants outside the hotel and it was only a few mins walk to the Square of Miracles. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The main thing the hotel could improve on is redecoration of the room, many scratches on the walls although it was very clean. The breakfast was good but not a lot of variety.

Great place in the middle of centre

The location and service were outstanding. We had one night before starting our trip home. Grand Hotel Duomo was so close to the Leaning Tower and had a beautiful rooftop bar to watch the sunset with a view of the tower and cathederal.

This hotel is in a very good location, with an amazing view from the rooftop terrace.

Room well maintaned, clean. Service on all Areas of the hotel, front Desk, Restaurant and bar were excellent. Transportatiin from hotel to AirPort coordinated by front Desk. Thanks great stay.

Perfect location for Pisa

Front desk staff particularly helpful as I tried to locate a nearby pharmacy, and the next day a small Gothic church. Sunset view from rooftop bar not to be missed. Excellent location - maybe two blocks from Duomo.

Fantastic location, excellent rooftop bar, friendly reception. Dated rooms which had dusty floors in areas, otherwise clean and comfortable large beds.

Restaurant service was terrible. Too few staff. Waited 25 minutes to get a drink and even then spouse had to go to the bar to ask for one. And it went down hill after that. Walked out eventually. Hôtel manager said private function took staff away from restaurant. He competed the bill of what with had so cost there. The hotel manager was very very good. We would stay there again but not go to hotel’s restaurant.

Basic rooms but clean. No kettle or tea making facilities in room. No USB points for charging phones. No toast/ making facilities at breakfast. Okay for one night stay. Excellent location

Very close to leaning tower

The location was absolutely perfect for anyone wanting everything within easy reach. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly. The room temperature wasn’t very cold, as it was controlled by a central system even though there was a thermostat in the room. The room and bathroom were both of a decent size, but both the room and the bathroom were very dirty and had a moldy odor. There was a strong smell of bleach even in the hotel corridor. The conditions felt quite unclean, so we requested a room change. Given the state of the bathroom, we decided not to use the shower, even though we were staying only for one night.

Amazing Location with just 300 Meters to all main attractions, 300 meters to Leaning Tower of PISA, lots of restaurants when you get down to hotel, breakfast was also good, the only thing bothered was their bathroom accessories and door knobs were too old fashioned and jammed, which definitely needed replacement with some new and advanced options.. but overall 4.5 rating and highly recommended for family stay

The hotel is quite run down and in need of a renovation. Very noisy at night and the beds are uncomfortable. Location is great as it’s very close to the tower. Not a lot of options.

We got to the property late, so maybe that’s why we got the room that we did. But it was tiny and didn’t appear to be cleaned well. There were dry contacts on the floor, small pieces of trash under the bed, and the shower didn’t drain. Additionally, the property is pretty aged, with the toilet not working well. I could see how people rated it well but based on the room we were put into, I can’t rate it high. The location is nice and the AC felt amazing.

Great location. Great property. The room was clean and spacious. Everything was perfect. Staff helped me to find good vegetarian restaurants and called taxi during checkout. I’ll definitely recommend this location

Lovely stay, fantastic location and very helpful staff.

We were really looking forward to stay at this hotel but unfortunately our hotel room had a big spot of black mold on the wall of the bedroom. The staff was accommodating and gave us a different room, but that also had mold in the bathroom and shower. The positives of this place are: decent air conditioning, comfortable beds, nice rooftop deck and the breakfast buffet was perfect for those looking to get a bite before a day of exploring Pisa.

Nice hotel and ideal location.

The hotel staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. Our first room had not been cleaned properly, particularly the floor and bathroom. The reception handled this very well, came to check and take photos, apologised and moved us to a new room which was clean. The restaurant is very good with stunning views to the tower.

Short stay in Pisa.

2 night stay in Pisa as part of a short tour of Italy. The hotel.is really well placed for the main sights of Pisa. It is less than 5 minutes walk to the area containing the Tower and the Duomo. Rooftop restaurant with views of the leaning tower (although we didn't eat there). Many bars and restaurants locally and we found their prices to be very reasonable. The hotel.is and easy walk from Pisa Centrale station (about 20 mins)

The hotel is immediately impressive, and discrete, in its entry off the busy Santa Maria. It’s a vibrant and lively area, next to the Leaning Tower etc. Inside the hotel, is an open lobby with split level, rising to a piano lounge and then the breakfast area. The staff are efficient and professional. Our room was a double city view, with small balconies to watch the busy streets below, making you feel part of the nightlife even in your room. The rooms were pretty, clean and spacious, with old Italian style features. The shower, bath and interior of bathroom may have been a little rundown and dated, but the overall feel was that it was maintained well and clean.

Good location but needs a good clean!

The location is great but that’s about it. The breakfast is fine but our first room was terrible. One of the windows didn’t close, the shower was covered in mould and the shower head hadn’t been cleaned properly for so long that the water couldn’t go through the nozzles so it sprayed water out of the joins (which then went over the floor and toilet paper etc. They moved us rooms but asked us to take photos of the room to show it was terrible. Couldn’t understand why they didn’t look themselves.

Terrazza meravigliosa con vista sulla piazza dei miracoli. Camera spaziosa e con tutto il necessario. La struttura necessita di ristrutturazione ma nonostante questo siamo stati davvero bene. Excellent location.

Not so Grand

Definitely not a 4* hotel. It is stuck in the 1970s and needs updating. The room we stayed in was a standard double. The bed was quite hard and the air conditioning unit was very noisy. We could also hear a lot of noise from outside. Again the room was quite tired with marks and holes on the walls. No tea/coffee making facilities so we had to go outside and buy everytime we wanted a drink. No information about the hotel in the room. We went to the restaurant and had a nice meal, but very expensive. I guess this is because of the view. The breakfast room was bland, and the coffee not so good Most of the staff were pleasant.

The hotel is a bit dated, and the rooms feel a bit like they havent been refurbished in 30 years. However the aircon is excellent, the location is perfect. The real Jewell in the crown is the bar though, by far the best view in the entire of Pisa. Incredible. I’d stay again.

Great views from roof terrace

Great Hotel for a stay in Pisa. The location is just perfect. The staff at the Hotel is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are older but clean. I recommend booking a room to the front for a better view. The Breakfast is OK. Valet Parking is available and they are very careful with your property.

Stay here regularly. Love the location and the cocktail bar. Very convenient for Tower. Great breakfast selection also.

Family visit.

The reception staff were very helpful and attentive. The location of the hotel is great for visiting the tower and surrounding area. The waiting staff in the terrace bar and restaurant were less helpful. It took a long time to be served each time we tried to order drinks and one of the waiting staff always seemed to have a mouthful of food which didn’t seem very professional.

It was a great location and the staff was extremely friendly. Morning breakfast had some good options as well. However the floor of our room was dirty (my white socks prove this) and our toilet stopped flushing and our shower/tub overflowed when we showered.
