The staff were great and tried their best always. We were notified ahead of arrival that our family suite wasnt available so they put us in a suite with two roll aways for two nights and gave us a hotel credit to use in rhw spa or restaurant. We were then moved to our correct room by staff. Breakfast buffet was generous. Location was terrific with the lake and many bars and restaurants only 5 min walk. The area around the hotel ft very safe.
We really enjoyed staying here. Ann and her team made us feel so welcome and at home. That and Sam were exceptional in helping us and ensuring we were well fed. Overall the hotel is one of the best , close to shops . Having stayed at many hotels and hotel chains around the world, it is rare to get such attention, love and abundance. This is going to be our 1st stop whenever we come to Hanoi.
Lovely hotel
There’s so many places to stay in Old Quarter so we struggled to decide but so happy we picked here. The location is perfect, the staff were all so sweet and the room was nice and clean. Highlight was the rooftop pool and bar, could have stayed up there for hours!
Clean & comfortable hotel in a central location. Good choice for breakfast although finishes early at 9.30am. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Loved this boutique hotel. Friendly staff, stunning modern decor and fantastic breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
Friendly staff
Hotel was honestly amazing! Great location, great staff! I’ve been to Hanoi a number of times and I’ll definitely be booking this hotel again!
We love to stay here it was very Central to get around and stuff made it even better they were so friendly and helpful
Great location, peaceful and relaxing room. Very comfortable great aircon for hot Vietnam.
Great location, comfy
Nice big room, with comfy bed. Perfect location, next to shops, near Michelin recognized restaurants, etc. The "pool" while shallow (waist deep) was a relaxing place to be in the middle of the hot day. Only complaint was the worst hotel breakfast we had - even juice was watered down.
Wonderful- thank you
Wonderful hotel staff very helpful. Room nice and quiet, fab golden sink
Great location, hotel room had mould and the layout made water sit in bathroom after showering. Pool was nice and made a big difference on the really hot days
Staff were friendly and accomodating. A little disappointed by the breakfast, we found if we didn't get down at 6am then most of the food would be gone and not replenished. Bed and room was lovely and hotel was easily walkable into the main old quarter. Overall I would stay here again.
Booked this for the pool and pleasantly surprised how clean and maintained it is. Cool water to cool down on the 40 degree days! Breakfast was good, eggs made on request. Buffet food is left out uncovered so I didn’t have much of it after seeing bar flies on the fruit. No window as such in the room but loved how quiet it is with no street noise at all. Water splashes out of shower every use but water falls to drain outside so it’s not a huge deal. No early checkin here and they charge extra for the privilege if available! The location is great right by walking street and the lake, plenty of eating out options and shopping.
Great location with many dinning options. Easy walk to many attractions. Safe area to walk.
Wonderful relaxing escape
We have a superb stay , Lisa in reception haloed us book a wonderful day trip to Ha Long Bay with a great guide Justin with Authentic Sail. The rooms are already aircon so it was a welcome rest after a hot day. Across the road is Hanoi Spa and up the street MET restaurant both are outstanding. Enjoy
The hotel is central to everything. Easy walking distances to the mayhem that is Hanoi. Small but comfy room. Friendly staff. Breakfast included was great.
good clean and close to every thing
Good location
Hotel was in excellent location accessible to shopping and food. The breakfast tho, was average. Like the hotel for its location
Good location
Nice location. Easy access to shops
Repeating my stays for the third time for this trip!
Rooftop exercising pool is quiet area.
friendly service, great hotel!
Great place to stay in the old quarter. The breakfast spread was also really good. The pool is heated but other than that everything else was great. Would definitely stay here another time.
Very good stay everything terrific.
Great place to stay, highly recommended.
Good central location. Staff very helpful. Meals at the hotel were very good
All good staff are really helpful .not far from the lake wh
Beautiful service, very close to everything. The stone massage in the spa was one of the best I have ever had. Great stay over all for the price
Staff are very friendly and helpful; breakfast is good. Hotel is walking distance to many sights, including St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Lake Hoan Kiem and many great shops and restaurants. Lighting in bathroom is quite dark, tiles could be replaced, but these are minor, insignificant details to a pleasant and comfortable hotel.
Loved the location of this hotel. However, our sheets had not been changed from the previous occupant, and the overall general cleanliness needs attention.
The shower and bathroom could do with a good clean. Decent location, checkin took a while, didn’t go down for breakfast, room was a little small. Main concern was the dirty shower.
Great Location
Great location! Walking distance from the hotel to the lake, water puppet theatre and the church. We have good sleep as the room given was not near to the road, it was quiet and we have peaceful sleep.
After an error with the booking and a lack of information, the hotel rectified everything in a satisfactory manner and your stay was enjoyable and memorable.
Would I come back to this hotel? Properly NOT.....
Limited choices for breakfast in the hotel. Disappointed with only 1 access key card provided for the room with 2 adults.
Really good location 2 mins from the lake and close enoug to the old quarter too
Only the photo looks nicer. The actual room is old and small.
Excellent hotel in the old quarter with easy access to lake, restaurants [try the Cinnamon directly opposite - possibly the best in Hanoi], water puppets etc. Three stays now and all of same standard. Food varied and of high quality.
Loud
Staff had a loud party two evenings in a row. The smoke indoors and my room had no window. Breakfast ok. Wifi good
Stayed here on 1 April 2018. Booked two executive rooms but was given a non executive room which was small and had a windows facing a wall 18 inches away. Manager was apologetic but did not act on refunding the difference from April to Nov. Fortunately, i booked through Expedia and it was Expedia who ensured that the hotel resolved the issue. I should have complained to Expedia earlier.
Nice enough hotel, good breakfast included. Pool was mediocre - not very inviting. Worst part was no window in the hotel! They told me on chick in that all deluxe rooms have no windows. Our twin beds had not been seperated and prepared despite ringing ahead 4hours prior.
Over priced Room like a cave Rooftop pool very disappointing Location good but that’s all
Not recommended, old hotel, run down, dirty.
Room was with bad smell and dirty. with hair on the floor of bathroom and room. Obviously the cleaners don a poor job there and management as well. I tried to call reception but the phone didn't work. Also their standard room is very small and dark, with a small window facing a shaft. So went to reception and asked to upgrade to a bigger and better room. They said they didn't have any room available. I looked up on hotels.com and booking and agoda and many other sites to find out they did have superior and luxury rooms available. So staff and manager for some strange reason lied and didn't want to get me an upgrade. And i mean a paying upgrade... go figure...
Rude staff that try to rip you off and over charge
Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner. Arrived early and was met with Kandy, who instead of helping with timelines and/or any additional costs to check in early just told us to sit and wait, despite me telling her I was pregnant and exhausted after a long flight. We finally got a room nearly 4 hours after we arrived and told the Oreos in our room were complimentary (but then they charged us for these Oreos on checkout!!) Then my partner enquirer about a motorbike for the following day. We didn’t bother following through, but the next day at 3pm they called him to tell him the bike was there. When he explained he didn’t want it they said he has to take it and they will charge him for it. Then when he handed in the keys in the evening they tried to charge him for late hand in, even though the bike had been sat outside the whole time. The final cherry, they tried to charge me 12 US dollars for washing ONE towel that had my fake tan on it (despite the fact that I told them it washes out on a normal 30c wash, as I do at home). 12 USD will buy around 24 towels in Vietnam, trying to charge me 12 USD for washing one towel is abhorrent. Linh the manager had zero customer services skills in dealing with this issue and insist I pay otherwise (be ready for the guilt trip) I’ll be forcing the poor staff to pay for cleaning. There are a lot of hotels around this area that are very nice, including centre point just around the corner, would highly recommend this place is avoided
Very good hotel with pool
This hotel is all about location. The rooms are small but clean ( unless you go for the junior suite which is very comfortable). Breakfast is downstairs in the basement. It is ordinary but if all you are looking for is some toast and poached eggs it will be fine.
Close to train - quick cab ride to restaurants
Overnight stop and close to train station which was very convenient. Lobby and floors not air conditioned which was not ideal, but the rooms were very comfortable. Only discovered the fuse in bathroom to turn on the water heater in the morning, after a cool shower. Friendly and helpful staff even if they struggled with English! Every attempt was made to understand and meet our needs. Breakfast provided did not appeal to western taste buds.
Coffee and breakfast very ordinary but accomodation great and location really convenient and nice
Excellent location and facility. The rooms with windows are beautiful!
Beautiful decor. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Great location. If a window is important to you, find out if your room has a window.
Good value for money
Good location, reception can be a little hectic at times as they do more than one thing at a time, breakfast could be better. Pool is not heated 😕
great location, friendly staff
Have stayed here several times now. Staff always fantastic. The hotel is close walking distance to anywhere you would want to go in Hanoi as a tourist. My only gripe is sometimes you get a room that backs onto the air-conditioners and the noise that comes with them. Not too bad but like I said, my only gripe. I have recommended Golden Lotus Luxury Hotel to my friends when they go to Hanoi.
Nice boutique hotel but could be much better
We stayed in executive suite (front of hotel with real windows/views) - nice décor for boutique Asian hotel. We then stayed in the connecting rooms (back of hotel) - we knew the windows opened to the wall behind so that was ok. HOWEVER, there were disappointing factors that could easily be improved. Our 7 yr old accidentally broke a plate in the restaurant - they charged us AUD $5 to replace it. Appalling on principle and price (that would buy 20 plates in Vietnam I'm sure!). Our laundry was not return at the designated time. We had to harass them about this as we were leaving in the morning. It finally got to us at 9.30 pm. Upon return from Halong Bay we had pre-booked rooms that were not ready at the 2 pm check-in time (nor by 4pm). We were not told. They sent us up, only to find they hadn't started cleaning them yet. Staff were initially disinterested in my complaint about this. No discount offered. Pool was even too cold for our kids who will swim in anything. Happy hour cocktails contain virtually no alcohol and take 40 mins to be delivered. In AUD this hotel isn't overly cheap for what it is - AUD $240 for a room should buy better service and attitude
Great hotel in a perfect location
Great hotel in a brilliant location five minutes walk from the lake and the Old Quarter. Staff, service, room and cleanliness all first rate.
Great location in Hanoi.
All was very positive. Would stay there again. Friendly, clean, nice room, great breakfast buffet.
Quiet room in a good location. Comfortable beds.breakfast is good too.
Gem of a hotel just magic.
Little gem of a hotel right in the heart of everything give this hotel a try you’ll be presently surprised. Just magic.
Great room with balcony! Great service.
Execkent room, location and service. No more to add.
Handy in Hanoi
We met our OAT group there. The hotel had a taxi waiting at airport, sign with our name, I had arranged for it, $25 for the 2 of us for 45 minute ride. Good location, good food, clean, service very good. Only con was narrow stairways and landings blocked with housekeeping carts and definite problem if there had been a fire.
Had no window but still good stay, friendly staff very handy to shopping in middle of old town
Lovely hotel but misleading website.
Golden Lotus Luxury was a good hotel in a very convenient part of town. However, their website lead me to believe they had a rooftop pool. They don't! If you search the website in greater detail, you may discover that you are free to go to another pool in a nearby sister hotel. But when I asked a staff member about the pool on the website, I was told it was yet to be built. And we booked an 'executive double' because it was advertised to have a bath and a shower. It didn't! This is false advertising and I was very disappointed by it.
Yes and No
I thought the Golden Lotus was a nice hotel. The room was very nice and very clean. The breakfast was also good. However the walls in the hotel are paper thin. You can hear anything that goes on in the adjoining rooms so if you are a light sleeper or don't want to hear someone blow drying their hair at 1am, this might not be the best hotel for you.
nice hotel right next to all the action
the best value hotel I have ever stayed at 'right next to all the action beaut room classy hotel .pleasant staff.Would rebook if returning in a flash
A little paradise
The property is like any other in the vicinity, what separate it is the service that they provide. The hotel has average amenities as you would expect from a budget hotel, but such warmth and personal attention is just unheard and not experienced before. We checked in to a non - window room which was immediately upgraded in a day upon request and availability. The breakfast is quite average, however the eggs to order are a delight.
Great hotel, clean friendly. Good location!
Very pleasant stay. Clean rooms. Good assistance from the front desk in recommending where to eat. Plus great bar within a 3 minutes walk which is open till the early hours!
very good location
Very good hotel compare to others. However, the bath rooms (in general for all Vietnamese hotels) are designed for WET FLOOR, which is contrary to the western design. I wish the owners of all hotels in Vietnam listen to their clients and modify their bath rooms accordingly. The bathroom sink represents the emblem of the hotel. However, it is an inconvenience. The staff is very good, particularly the breakfast staff, they went out of their way to please the clients. Taxi service needs to improve since my trip costs double for no reason. I think the hotel should suggest better taxi services.
Does a job
The hotel did a job. The location was great for walking to the museums, lake and good restaurants. The staff were okay but the rooms were dark. Breakfast was average and lacked windows so it was a bit dingy. Overall it is not luxury but is good as a base to explore the city. The pool hadn't not been in operation for a month whilst we were there which was one of the reasons we booked the hotel.
Stylish Boutique hotel with attentive and happy st
This hotel was within walking distance to lake area and restaurants. The very helpful and professional Annie at Reception assisted us with tour bookings and recommendations on numerous occassions. The breakfast staff provided a cheerful early morning start and the bar staff served drinks with proficiency and friendliness of an evening. We were always greeted with a smile and genuine warmth by all staff. The rooms were small but stylish. We used this hotel as our base for a number of stays over a week in late July.
Small but nice; window not worth it
We basically only crashed here for a night before setting off to Halong Bay. Since this is old-town, the room is quite small. We paid a little extra for a room with a window, but since the buildings are right next to one another (hence why a window is a rare treat), opening window revealed two hanging plants in a bout 1 foot of space to the next building's window. Wifi was good. Bathroom had a rather hilarious gold sink shaped like the hotel's namesake. Breakfast was good with plenty of western and eastern options - since we were rushed getting out of there in the morning, they even offered to pack us a breakfast to take on the road. This hotel is in the middle of old town though, so great for seeing all the sites and for shopping.
Great small hotel in the heart of Hanoi
The family room was great, two rooms connected, two toilets. Good breakfast with great service. Unfortunately the pool was up for maintenance. Great location. Highly recommended.
Fabulous value.
Based on the price, it was an amazing value. Friendly and helpful staff, cool, clean, and comfy rooms, and excellent location. The only knock was the pool was hard to use because of the temp, but it's so flipping hot - it was somewhat refreshing.
Good location for everything in Hanoi old quarter.
My stay in the hotel was very pleasant. The room was clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Walking distance to most places to visit. Or easy to get taxi using Uber or Grab to get anywhere. Breakfast was very good and staff in restaurant so friendly.
Hanoi is a bustling place
Is was so nice to have a quiet oasis after walking the Old Quarters of Hanoi. The roof top swimming pool was refreshing and relaxing. Annie at Reception was extremely helpful and assisted us with booking tours and organising travel plans. Annie was also very patient with us changing our accommodation to reorganise our itinerary. Other staff were always helpful, despite some language barriers.
Good location in Old Quarter of Hanoi
Despite small rooms this is handily located near to Hong Kiem Lake and Old Quarter, lots of shops and restaurants nearby
Great liocation and friendly staff. We had two rooms. One was very good other was a bit noisy and tied. Pool was small but nice. Breakfast was fine.
Very handy
Bathrooms look good on first glance, but the usual inadequate drainage issues. Drain higher than water flow etc
Great location in old quarter
Good, clean hotel with friendly staff. Got adjoining rooms as a Family Suite so was great for the extra space as rooms are a bit small. Good sized bathroom needing proper blockout blinds. Beer in Mini Bar was warm and old. Good Buffet Breakfast, probably one of best we had in Vietnam.
Stairs to the entrance were not easy for a disabled person
Gave us a room with no window and the room was so small we could not put luggage anywhere. Went down to ask for a better room and they gave us a room with a window that is only a foot away from the wall of the next building. The room picture on Expedia is Not what you are get to stay in.
Super friendly and helpful staff! And breakfast was amazing!! :)
小さいけれど居心地のいいホテル
部屋は最低限の広さでしたが、清潔で快適です。スタッフは人にもよりますが基本的に親切でした。旧市街や水上人形劇場にも徒歩10分程度でアクセスできて立地はとても便利です。
Convenient and nice hotel!
The Golden Lotus Luxury hotel was general great! The staff was nice and the room was clean and comfortable, yet quite small. It is very well located in the middle of all the action of the Old Quarter. We specifically chose this hotel for the rooftop pool, which is quite nice and gives a great view, but the water was freeeeeeezing! The breakfast was ok but nothing special (as all other hotel breakfasts we`ve had in Hanoi). Special thanks to the Lobby employee who was more than kind to us, helped us get a taxi and communicate to the driver to make sure we`d get to the airport safely, and who seemed to be helping all the other guests as well to solve their issues. (sorry I didn`t get his name).
Nice hotel
It was a very functional hotel. The staff were pleasant. The breakfast was a little lack lustre. My biggest complaint about the room was that it was like a bunker with a window that opened to a brick wall 12" away. There was no natural light in the room and when we asked if we could change the room the front desk wasn't receptive to us at all. My complaint would be that when we booked we should have been imformed that it was a room without a view. We may not have stayed at that particular hotel if we had known there was no natural light in the room. The pool was another one of the features that we were interested in,but as it was unheated, and had a covered roof over it,the water was too cold to swim in. Overall I would say that I would not stay there again.
Good location
Stayed one nt every thing was very good Went back for 2 nd stay Room was very small (should've a single) Lge window into the room from the bathroom with a blind that didn't close properly Very annoyed Not pleased J Willmott
Well located hotel.
1 night October 2016. Smart hotel. The room was a little on the small sized but well appointed. The roof top pool was good for a dip and the view was fun. Located 3 mins from the lake and 5 mins from the night market.
Excellent Hotel
Really enjoyed my stay at the Golden Lotus. Lovely hotel room, Very helpful staff who were able to organise things quickly e.g. airport transfers, takeaway breakfast (we checked out of hotel before Breakfast was due to be served). Excellent location in the old part of town.
Centrally located with a swimming pole on the roof
The hotel has a good standard and it is conveniently located, but the room's window was toward the neighbour building with less than half a meter space.
Great location
Although had a problem at book in with me not putting in 4 names over 2 rooms and they wanted to harhed for 2 extra people a night once that was sorted we were ok I do think your website could be better For this as booked thru agora for 2 other hotels and had no problems putting one name for each room
An average hotel, will not stay again
Room is OK, breakfast is below Vietnam standard. Swimming pool is good.
Amazing
This place was great. Very friendly helpful staff. Beautiful buffet breakfast. Comfortable. Clean. Great location close to everything. Great outdoor/indoor pool. Over all an amazing experience :)
Hanoi
They upgraded us to 8888 suite. It was huge and great. Great location close to lake and they let us check in early direct from our flight. lovely to have the pool on the roof. Drinks were a good price. Breakfast was included and was a good range buffet style. We tried to book another night but it was full. would definitely go back.
Great location,comfortable, clean, friendly
Very comfortable hotel with excellent staff - professional and warm. Right in the heart of things with everything you need as a traveller close by. Would stay here again.
Just ok
All the good things first. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The staff at the front reception were always available with information and advice when needed. The doorman was always welcoming when we wandered in and out of the hotel at all hours and in finding our luggage when we lost our luggage slip. The breakfast staff were always smiling and ready to make us all feel comfortable as soon as we sat down. The hotel facilities were a little dissapointing. Firstly the hotel has rooms without windows. The rooms with windows which we paid extra for overlook what appears to be a factory roof. If i had known this i probably wouldn't have bothered with the window. The water temperature in the shower is either scoulding hot or ice cold. The alarm on the door, which of course is a good idea for the sake of security, goes of unpredictably when we are in the room and just as we close the door. The batteries in the safe went of in two of the rooms during our two day stay and it required staff to eventually come in and take items out of the safe. The rooms are small. There is no outside space, no courtyard orcgarden. There is a very small swimming pool on the top floor which is shut by 10.00pm. The room is a little too small small for two people. I would describe it as series of small characterless boxes.
Good quality place
The hotel was really great overall. Depending on what level of comfort you want, you could probably find something cheaper (considering how inexpensive everything is in Vietnam). Having said that, I was definitely happy staying here! The location was good and I do feel like they took good care of us! Would definitely recommend
Hotel close to everything
Very clean and comfortable hotel that is close to everything. Most of the main sights were only a short walk away or in the heat a shorter cab ride. The staff were extremely friendly who were very helpful in booking tours or massages. Great rooftop swimming pool which was undercover which kept it cool and refreshing.
Bad hotel
They gave the wrong room. No shower. Wifi is unstable.
awesome location but no need to stay
i usually dont write the review plz understand why i wrote this review No need to stay 1. solving ability of problems after check in i called reception "can you fix airconditioner, room is very hot " they said plz wait 15 mins i said "ok got it " but this situation was same. i called again and engineer came to my room and he said " plz wait 15mins " i said " ok got it we have to go out " after return situation was same i called again after 10mins engineer came to my room he said plz wait 15 mins finally i cought all staff were familliar with this problem that is why all staff said plz wait 15mins around 1 am i called reception he said plz plz wait 15mins haha so i said can i change the room he said if you change the room you have to move with my luggage i said do you know what time is it ? but he said "due to the general manager" "?????" after negotiated i slept another room without luggage. but room codition was similar and slept only 5 hours In the morning all receptionists didnt said my issue i do think they believe silence is best way to solve guest's problems 2. customer service actally when i stayed in hanoi i used 5 hotels meracus 2, noble and swan, opera de, essential hotel and this hotel this hotel is that service satisfation is worst (sometimes they were rude and didnt pay attention my word) , hotel location is 2nd and worth of money is also worst plz believe me also breakfast meal was worst in 6 hotels
Great little hotel
Great little hotel, in a perfect location. Staff, were very helpful, allowing us an early check in. Nothing but smiling and helpful. Hotel was clean and tidy. Everything was so good. We booked another night, for our return to Hanoi
In need of rnovations
Better facilities available in same price range not good value

Had good stay .the staff are amazing 5 out 5 . The Sky bar was nice ..the pool was not as advertised in the pictures ..the ladder getting in was broken only one step to get out no other way to get out of the pool .the bathroom was dated .toilet seat broken. shower was a tub shower with no curtian.water was flooding floor and was hard to step out of the shower.i asked about it they gave me more towels ..the buffet breakfast was nice .room was smaller then advertised..for the price point not worth it
