Excellent staff, friendly people

The stay was as good as I expected for a hotel of this category. It is expensive for the category but it is what this place costs in summer due to the high demand. The hotel is old and it poorly maintained however the staff is super friendly. Specially at frontdesk they are extremely friendly and helpful. I truly value that quality of people.

Muy buena estadía, el hotel posee una excelente piscina interior climatizada, un centro de fitness bien equipado, un gran estacionamiento inferior en el piso -1. El desayuno es muy bueno. La habitacion bien equipada, con 2 ambientes, dormitorio y living comedor kitchette. TV en ambos ambientes.

It has a goog location, very centrally.average good breakfaast. Little noisi, specially at night!

A once good hotel stuck in the past

My stay here with my family was mediocre. The facilities at the hotel were run down and not well maintained. Shout out though to the staff, they were super friendly and accommodating and made our stay more amenable. It’s a shame as the location is superb, but the state of this place is simply bad, and it could be so much more, and it is not an inexpensive option.

Clean three star hotel, but not a four star. Front desk very helpful, the night attendant. Awesome. Good luck location to the beach and one block away from a lot of shops and restaurants.

Pictures are probably from 10 years ago. The hotel is at most a 1 star. Everything is broken, old, low quality. The service and people is friendly, but I would suggest to go elsewhere.

Indoor swimming pool

The property is kind of old and rooms are small but since it was only one night it did its purpose. Overall staff was kind and attentive with my needs. Nice pools..

Highly recommend!

Great staff. Front desk was very helpful getting us a reservation at Garzon Winery and spoke English and Spanish. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Suite had a balcony with ocean view. Outdoor pool was a little cold and gym was under construction, but otherwise it was great!

The entire staff, similar to all Uruguayans, were beautiful and helpful. The hotel and facilities themselves were a tremendous disappointment. The pictures of the pools and the facility on the website were doctored. Both pools are outdated and are in desperate need of renovation. The carpets in the hotel smells as soon as the elevator doors open. The elevator is confusing to operate with convoluted levels instead of just levels 1-6. Although we were give an “ocean view” room, the ocean was not near and the views were hindered between 2 buildings. After 2 nights of our 4 night stay we had to leave and head back to Montevideo to the Sheraton, forfeiting our money for 2 nights. We love smaller hotels and have stayed in many, but this particular hotel needs a complete makeover. We are thankful to the entire staff for their trademark Uruguayan hospitality. This poor quality hotel is not a representation of the wonderful Uruguayan people. Sam

Good location. Shabby interiors and run down facility.

Great hotel, close to bus terminal, beaches, food.

A suite with kitchenette and seating, lounge sofa and big tv, separate bedroom and a balcony. Was off season but had an outdoor activities area with pool. Very good breakfast.

We stayed here for two nights and had a really pleasant stay. I am celiac and the staff went out of their way to provide me with a gluten breakfast - the best I have received in 2 months of travel in South America. The hotel could do with a lick of paint but it is very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The sauna is nice to relax in also.

Affordable, nice location, but needs renovations

The hotel is in a good location. However anything on the Peninsula is in a good location since you can walk pretty much anywhere in about 15 minutes. We stayed about 2 weeks before the busy season (which starts ~Dec 15th) so we got a lower price. The hotel itself and the rooms were clean, but are in a desperate need of renovations/upgrades. Some examples: - There was a new flat screen TV in the bedroom - There was an old CRT TV in the living space with terrible reception - The mattress was very thin and had no real shock absorption. If one of you gets up first in the morning the other will know. - The door handle fell off the door between the bedroom and living space, but I fixed it - There is a single air conditioning unit in the bedroom that is only strong enough to cool the bedroom. Like I said we were there before high season and it was cool for most of our stay. The pool was very clean and it looked like some of the rooms and public areas near the pool were being renovated. The indoor pool and spa were also clean and nice. Note there are a section of rooms that sit above the entrance to the parking garage. Those rooms do not have balconies. When you check in ask if your room has a balcony. While we were there the WiFi was very slow and the signal wasn't very strong. This goes for inside the rooms and at the pool.

Good but very noisy

No double windows to stop very noisy street full of buses. Also and although it is beyond the control of the hotel, punta has become a place for noisy kids to party, we were up half of the night we were there while a bunch of semi drunk teenagers were misbehaving. The hotel did nothing to stop them

nice beach view

Very good location to the beach. It was a high price. The breakfast room was very big and very busy. It has a very big inside pool. They also have a nice quite room to read.

I paid more for booking thru expedia

It is an old hotel with lack of maintenance. The restaurant is small and you have to wait until a table is available. The massages are ok, but the pool and sauna need a refurbishment. The signal of the cable TV has interference and the TV has not remote control. I would not come back.

Service is great!

Stayed at this hotel for the FIBA Americas 16u basketball tourney held in Maldonado. The hotel staff was top notch in taking care of our questions and requests (there was always someone on duty who spoke English). As has been mentioned in other reviews, the renovation seems to still be in progress (June 2013), and our room still seemed a little dated, but everything worked (mini fridge, microwave, tvs) & they had wifi. The bathroom didn't have much room for toiletries, but the bath sheets were nice. Since it was the off season, a lot of restaurants were closed or closed early, but there were plenty of places by the beach to eat & we used the mini mart next to the hotel for snacks. There was also a full service laundromat in the next block where we were able to get a single load of clothes washed, dried & folded for abt a hamilton. We were able to navigate bus service to the venue and back for only a couple of US $ (with the stop coming back within a few yards of the hotel). And although we had the hotel set up car service for our trip from the MVD airport to the hotel; going back we took the bus which had a stop at the airport for approx US $10. The bus terminal is within 4 to 5 blocks of the hotel. Punta del Este is quiet & relaxed in the off season, the hotel was very convenient to restaurants & the beach - within blocks of both sides of the penisula and their service was really wonderful.

It's allways nice to be upgraded. A very pleasant surprise.

Dreary Beach Motel

We were originally assigned a room with the hall under construction (the room shouldn't have been rented at all). Why do any construction during "high season?" We were moved to another room. Overall the hotel was a dreary version of a beach motel. Nothing to recommend it other than location. I would strongly suggest renting a condo in Punta de Este rather than a hotel room.

This place is horrible!

Not worth the money. The pictures on the website are deceiving. This place is rundown, dirty, and overall just not good for the amount they are charging! Motel 6 would be a better deal.

A little older, but very friendly

The hotel is a little older and it shows in some of the carpets in the hall ways, but the room was very clean and spacious with a view of the ocean and good internet. The breakfast had a great variety of selections and was plentiful. Everybody in the staff was very friendly and I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I come back to the area.

Excellent in all aspects.

I could not be more pleased. The location is the best for someone without a car; the cleanliness of the whole resort, the fhe accommodations and the service provided by the staff are more than expected from a three star resort. And the breakfast buffet: WOW, I was astonished with the variety and quality of the homemade pies and all the rest. I can say, without doubt, that this is my favorite resort in the Peninsula of Punta del Este.

Good for the price

This hotel was ok for the price. Compared to other hotels in the area, it is relatively inexpensive (although i have been in better hotels that cost much less). Rugs need to be replaced. Faucets and bathroom knobs need to be changed as they are very very old. Breakfast was good. Location was good.

Golden Beach a far reach from perfection

This hotel is located in the centre of Punta and we were attracted by the location and price. The lobby is beautiful and there is a spacious lounge on the second floor both with wireless internet, so so far, so good. Our room however was small and when I asked for a room facing the beach I didn't realize how totally pointless that is from the 1st floor where we could only see a fraction of the beach between the buildings across the street. The weather was cold and stormy and the lack of any seals in the windows and sliding glass doors allowed all the noise of weather and traffic through just as if a window was wide open. The heater did work remarkably well so we were warm enough. Some of the switches didn't seem to work and we couldn't turn off the overhead light without pulling out the card which powered the outlets, so couldn't just have bedside lamps and electric outlets working. There is a Spa down stairs and they had a variety of treatments listed in American prices and it seemed overpriced to me compared to what I had been paying in other spas outside of Punta in pesos, but that is La Punta for you. Other friends said they thought it was comprable and they were quite booked even in winter.

Hotel é bom. Perto da praia. Bem central. Piscina aquecida. O café é bom, poderia ser melhor com mais variedade.

Muito bom

As pessoas são cordiais, o café da manhã muito bom. A princípio me colocaram em um quarto diferente do que eu reservei, sem reforma, sem box, apenas com uma cortina, que alagava. Mas prontamente me trocaram para o correto. As roupas de cama e banho são de altíssima qualidade e conforto. O quarto nao tem água no frigobar, porém no primeiro piso tem galão e ao lado do hotel tem um mercadinho. É muito perto de tudo, super compensa.

La habitación es amplia y cómoda, pero le faltan detalles como por ejemplo toma corrientes a ambos lados de la cama. La cortina no cerraba bien. Tuvimos que cambiarnos de habitación porque en la primera no andaba la TV ni tampoco un velador. Mejorar el olor en los ambientes comunes., creo que el mal olor era por el alfombrado viejo. Buena ubicación, amplio estacionamiento y el personal muy agradable.

Hotel Precário

apenas o atendimento esta na média. Quanto a estrutura do hotel, muito ruim, precário, parou no tempo. Ar condicionado não funcionou, chuveiro ruim, iluminação ruim, elevador quebrado. Vale a pena pela localização, somente!

apesar de ter ficado em um apartamento reformado, o estado geral do hotel merece cuidados, elevadores, por exemplo, chuveiro, etc. O Café da manhã, na minha opinião, não é condizente com hotel 4 estrelas.

Check in começou mal , quase descortês, tentaram resolver e nos deram um quarto velho e barulhento. Café da manhã sem nenhuma imaginação , horário bom. Hotel precisa uma reformulação arquitetônica e conceitual . Custo-benefício alto. Localização ótima .

Ar condicionado

Pegamos um apt com dois ambientes, mas só um (o quarto) tinha ar condicionado. Por acaso, o tempo estava agradável e não fez tanta falta, mas essa informação deveria estar clara quando reservamos, e não estava.

El lugar es hermoso y las habitaciones grandes y confortables. Tuve un problema con el aire acondicionado de mi habitación que no funcionada y pasé frío a la noche. Mandaron a alguien de mantenimiento pero volvió a apagarse.... El desayuno es muy abundante.

Muy buena opción, infraestructura modernizada. Ojo con la piscina climatizada, demasiado cloro en el agua.

Cuando ingresamos al hotel, nos atendieron sin gracia, poca información, nos pareció muy frió, sin calefacción, la estructura muy añeja, los ascensores muy antiguos también, la habitación fue cómoda, el baño en general des prolijo, se veían los caños, en la ducha las canillas estaban desgastadas y no salia agua caliente..En la piscina estaba sucia y turbia, había mucho cloro en el agua , la madera de sus alrededores estaba astillada y mucha suciedad. En los vestuarios también estaban sucios y muy fríos para la temperatura del invierno. Destaco la buena actitud y onda que tiene la señora que cuida a los niños en el área del rincón infantil. El rincón infantil estaba siempre muy ordenado, pero los juegos algunos ya están viejos, el pasto artificial de la cancha dañado y mucho frío en el lugar. El desayuno normal. El baño de la planta baja muy pequeño y con un olor muy desagradable a caño. En época de invierno no funciona el restaurante cómo tampoco muchas de las instalaciones. Tiene una buen ubicación y un supermercado con mucha variedad de cosas al lado del hotel.

Nosso quarto tinha cheiro de mofo. Como sou alérgica à mofo, solicitei troca de quarto e consegui, pagando um upgrade; o que melhorou, consideravelmente nossa estadia.

Praticidade em Punta Del Este

Hotel localizado próximo a rodoviária de Punta Del Este, o que facilita muito a locomoção, especialmente para quem vem de ônibus de Montevideu. Funcionários prestativos e muito atenciosos. Café da manhã variado, cheio de gostosuras uruguaias, como o doce de leite, uma delícia! :D As instalações do hotel são mais antigas, mas ainda assim o quarto é confortável e amplo. Banheiro com aquecimento a gás, mas a área para o banho é pequena. Conta também com piscina externa e aquecida. Próximo a restaurantes e supermercados. Perto da praia e do famoso ponto turístico La Mano. Recomendo!

Muy lindo, en la parte de la kitchennette de la habitación le agregaría una cocina para poder calentar agua y preparar alguna comida básica ya que cuando vas con niños te ayuda para poder hacerle alguna comida especial para ellos.

A localização era boa, somente isso.

O hotel está em péssimas condições. todo em reforma, acho que o minimo que deveriam fazer era informar os hospedes sobre a situação do hotel, e dai caberia a cada um decidir em se hospedar lá ou não. não é nada agradável passar as ferias em um lugar em reforma, com pedreiros e gente trabalhando, sem contar o pó, sujeira da obra e barulho. além disso, no quarto o ar condicionado e secador não funcionada, não tinha nem água no frigobar. Alguns detalhes quebrados e não tinha box no banheiro, eram aquelas cortinas, diferente do que mostram nas fotos. Resumindo, experiência péssima. Não recomendo.

Hotel limpo, bem localizado, porém um pouco antigo. Parece estar sendo renovado, visto que algumas áreas e quartos parecem desgastados pela utilização e ação do tempo e outras já estão mais bem apresentáveis. Mas nada que prejudique a hospedagem. Café da manhã com boas opções de doces e salgados.

Fora da temporada

Fora da temporada a cidade parece fantasma, mas prá descansar e passear é muito agradável sem multidão. O hotel precisa manutenção, mas aparentemente está em obras.

50% dos quartos são restaurados, 50% são antigos

Nossa experiência inicial foi frustrante. Embora tenhamos reservado um quarto suíte, nos colocoram em um com condições decepcionantes. Bem velho, na verdade. Fomos reclamar e então, fizeram um "upgrade" para um quarto enorme e renovado, bem bonito, confortável, com sala, espaço de varanda gigante e uma cama king size. Quarto realmente muito bom. Creio que só vale ficar neste hotel se for para se instalar em um dos quartos novos.

Não existe quarto com 2 camas de casal como mostra

Fiquei chateada pois quando fiz a reserva de 4 quartos... Dois eram pra ser com duas camas de casal cada e chegando lá para minha surpresa esse modelo de quarto não existe ( foi o que a recepcionista ressaltou). Familiares tiveram que reservar outro quarto e causou transtornos em quem não teve alternativa.

Decepção

Chega a ser absurdo o que passamos ao fazer o check in nesse hotel. Mesmo com malas grandes e cansados, nos obrigaram a esperar por 50 minutos na recepção enquanto, segundo eles, limpavam nosso quarto. Com nossa reserva feita com um mês de antecedência, era obrigação do hotel nosso quarto já estar pronto ao chegarmos.Ainda assim, apenas após muita reclamação e a troca de funcionários, nos deram a chave do quarto. Ao subirmos, o quarto tinha um cheiro de cigarro fortíssimo (havíamos reservado um quarto para não-fumantes) e havia uma obra super barulhenta no apartamento exatamente acima do nosso. Tive que descer e reclamar mais uma vez, e só então nos deram um novo quarto, do outro lado do hotel, sem cheiro de cigarro e sem barulho de obras. Perdemos duas horas do nosso dia nessa brincadeira. O hotel é desgastado, precisa de obras urgentes, e os recepcionistas da parte da manhã / início da tarde são totalmente incompetentes. As equipes seguintes são bem melhores. A maior qualidade desse hotel é estar localizado na Península, um dos melhores bairros de Punta. Mas infelizmente nos sentimos totalmente desrespeitados e a impressão que nos passaram é que não estavam nem aí. Não volto mais a esse hotel, e não o indicaria a ninguém.

Reservar quartos reformados.

Sugiro pedir sempre os QUARTOS REFORMADOS. A princípio fomos direcionados para o quarto 109,quarto ruim, móveis antigos e velhos, sem estrutura e conforto.Então depois que reclamei muito nos colocaram num quarto melhor (quarto 119), quarto reformado com maior conforto e espaço. Porém o que também não me agradou muito foi a limpeza e arrumação do quarto. O mesmo aconteceu com outro casal conhecido que ficou em outro quarto. Ótimo café da manhã, com bastante variedade e boa estrutura da área de lazer do hotel. IMPORTANTE:O hotel está precisando de reformas nas áreas comuns,achei o hotel um pouco antigo e sem modernidade pelo valor que pagamos na diária e pelo que é divulgado na internet. Funcionários excelentes com ótimo atendimento. No geral gostamos do hotel, mas esperávamos mais dele.

La ubicación del hotel es muy buena, cerca a playa mansa. Si bien el hotel no es para nada lujoso las instalaciones son cómodas. Al llegar nos asignaron una habitación y no nos gusto mucho así que pedimos que nos cambiaran y lo hicieron sin ningún problema o cargo adicional. En toda nuestra estadía la atención y disposición para ayudarnos, por parte del personal fue excelente.

Hotel muito bom

O hotel está muito bem localizado bem no centro de Punta del Este. O quarto que fiquei era novo e bem espaçoso mesmo com um berço sobrou bastante espaço. Como eu estava com um bebê o atendimento dos funcionários foi excelente.

Poderia ser melhor

Café da manhã muito bom, funcionários muito atenciosos, cama excelente e muito bem localizado. Os pontos negativos ficaram pela condição do quarto (tivemos que trocar de quarto pq o primeiro n estava c o ar condicionado funcionando direito). No segundo quarto o microondas precisou ser trocado e o chuveiro molhava todo o banheiro. Outro ponto negativo, o hotel afirmava oferecer translado, o que não era verdade.
