Lively property, Served its purpose
Glenora is amazing. It’s beautiful and accommodating. People are all very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a nice restaurant and shop plus great tour of their distillery.
Very hospitable, pleasant and helpful staff. Clean, well looked after rooms. I wish there was hot (versus continental) breakfast. Otherwise, it was perfect.
Unique and beautifully landscaped property with modern, spacious room. Pub served excellent dinner only steps away from our room. Whiskey was top-notch, too.
Beautiful scenery! Great service and food!
The property is beautiful and the room spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed the veggie burger in the pub. Complementary breakfast was a nice touch.
Accommodation was nice. Food was good. Service was excellent. Entertainment was a nice bonus
The staff were very nice and helpful! Only downside was that the dinner area was a tad to dark to see the menu. Food was good. Music from 8-10 was great. The continental breakfast was good and a great start to the day.

Excellent restaurant and distillery with tasting amazing visky.
Nice peaceful property. Staff were friendly and nice. Live entertainment was good too.
Beautiful property and very unique. Quiet solìtude.
Top notch boutique style hotel. Beautiful spacious rooms and great food restaurant. Breakfast buffet was well stocked with all kinds of fruit, cereals, breads, muffins.
Amazing customer service Delicious food Great tour of the distillery, Ron was very knowledgeable. Wonderful front desk staff
Great staff, accommodations were ok, damp smell. Next time will stay in a chalet, couldn’t this time as travelling with senior who uses walker, not safe to do stairs. The breakfast was great, just right and restaurant on site was very good.
Loved the live music and Distillery tour
This property was absolutely lovely. A quaint distillery that was previously an apple orchard. Staff was lovely. We had dinner at the restaurant which was a great meal. Close to the town of Inverness to catch a sunset. The gardens and greenery were well done.
Stayed here for 1 night in September and also did the distillery tour tasting. Room was lovely, had a nice back deck area with chairs and a nice view. The staff are all great and we really enjoyed the tour. Room was clean and a good size. Bathroom was very nice with soap dispensers in the shower. It's a small detail, but I love to see accommodations shifting away from small plastic bottles. We had some trouble figuring out the heating/ac unit built into the room but it did work after some trial and error. Breakfast was included but just a cold breakfast (baked goods, cereal, etc). Considering the price of this room vs other places we stayed on this trip I think they can up their game a bit on breakfast. If you're into breweries/distilleries this place is a "must do" during a trip to nova scotia.
Nova scotia
Beautiful grounds, delicious dinner in the restaurant, quiet
Bed was not comfortable and too small - only double and could have fitted a queen. Foldout was really uncomfortable too.
Great spot
What a gem situated in a beautiful setting.
Great tour of the distillery and the plants and flowers are beautiful and everywhere!
Worth every penny. Beautiful facility. Loved it all.
looking forward to a return visit
Beautiful property with a great restaurant/bar. The distillery tour is fun. And the staff were great to deal with. The room we were first given had no latch on the sliding glass door, so anyone could have walked into the room. After pointing this out to the staff they immediately gave us a different room. We would definitely return.
In retrospect I should not have chosen the cabin above the main building. They are not comfortable. Husband was too tall for the beamed structure. Had to drive to and from each time. No comfortable seating. It was not a good choice for us.
A nice place to stay, food was decent and staff were lovely. Our room was clean, good size and comfortable. The door to our room would not shut properly and our bathroom door didn’t work. Otherwise good, a bit pricey given the broken doors.
We stayed in the Chalets. Beautiful view.
Great environment around the hotel. The room facilities can be upgraded
Only spent a night here, but the accommodations, restaurant, and service were fantastic!
This property was beautiful. We stayed in a three bedroom chalet which was lovely. It had a very outdated kitchenette which we didn't use except for the mini fridge. The pub on site had wonderful live music and delicious food. We had the seafood chowder and a fresh baked biscuit that came out warm. The staff were all wonderful and friendly. A nice touch was a shuttle service down from the chalet to the pub - the road to the chalet is up a steep and winding road. Not something I would have wanted to drive at night. A lovely experience. We were only there for one night and didn't do the distillery tour since I have seen plenty in Scotland.
The staff were incredibly helpful, pleasant and attentive. The food at the Inn at dinner was superb. The breakfast was awful. The boiled egg was like rubber. The muffins were sugar coated fat sponges and the bagels were as dull as sand. There was some sugary cereal options. The entry to the sidewalk leading to the room was a convoluted path through difficult doors. The thermostat was set at a ridiculously low temperature when we entered our room and the TV was on, and at an absurdly loud volume. We could hear the guests above us stomping around in their room until 11:00 at night. The AC was extremely loud even at the lowest fan setting. The power light on it was like a lantern on a lighthouse. It lit the room up to the point no lamps were required. Which made it difficult to sleep.
The location is unique. It is a beautiful place to stay.
Staffs are super friendly, food is awesome, music is great!
This place was absolutely beautiful! Would stay again. The rooms and grounds were beautiful. We also had a small back sitting area that had two chairs and a table and was nice as well as private with having other guests on either side. There was live music and tours but we did not partake vut if we had more time we may have. Only thing I mentioned because i am traveling with a toddler is that the doors should have a way to lock on the inside thats not easily opened by little hands. Very minor detail.
I liked the property. Beautifully kept. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay
Doors to room and bathroom did not close easily. Rooms could use some updating for the high price.
Not the vibe we were looking for. Property was beautiful, our cabin was lovely. The live music was nice but a bit dull.
Breakfast is not good enough
Great stay however our bathroom needed better exhaust
Beautiful & unique spot with very friendly& attentive staff.
Hot water really hot
Be careful w the hot water in the shower - very hot! Otherwise everything a very good inn.
Glenora Distillery is a unique place to stay along Cabot Trail/Cape Breton. Our room was comfortable, yet for the price I would’ve expected a little higher quality linens, towels.
Beautiful Spot.
Beautiful location. Fantastic restaurant. Would absolutely go again.
Setting great. If you’re a whiskey drinker, this could be paradise, as well as a romantic getaway. Very nice rooms. We did not eat there, as we wanted to broaden the experience. Highly recommend the Red Shoe Pub nearby, which had Cape Breton fiddlers and keyboard. Glenora had a solo guitarist singing Springsteen and similar tunes. Not what we wanted.
Would not stay again unless it’s for the booze tour and what not. Overpriced and not very convenient.
Rough and dangerous road to the chalet. Very noisy fridge kept us awake all night. Uncomfortable beds and finally overpriced.
We stayed in chalet 10. The idea is nice but value for money just wasn’t there in my opinion. Mind you it was a very hot stretch of weather but the small bottom level window AC just didn’t keep the chalet upstairs sleeping area cool. It was very hot to try and sleep and on the noisy side. We expected more. Also we didn’t have a blind on our main window so when one of us had to come downstairs to try and get sleep, it was unnerving to have no window covering. Disappointing for the money we spent and not a good night’s sleep. On the plus side, the food in the pub was quite good and the staff were lovely.
No oatcakes to cleanse palatte on the Scotch flight. Food was just ok.
The breakfast option is too limited.
The room had a patio but door leading to it won't open. The window blinds opening mechanism had missing arm. The bathroom did not have sufficient shampoo, conditioner and body wash for a family. No housekeeping after 3 PM and the room was located couple of kilometers away from the main complex.
Lovely stay
Very nice room, we enjoyed the restaurant too. Such a beautiful setting.
was overall a great experience. I will say the the ceiling fan in our cabin was scary!!! we thought it might come crashing down, and even if it wouldn't have, it was so loud we wouldn't have been able to sleep. Other than that thought my wife and I had a wonderful time, service was prompt and friendly, food was great and the entertainment was really good.
The block of rooms off the main property could use some bug repellent- the mosquitos were out in full force. A couple of hooks to hang a coat or clothing in the room would be helpful since no closet
Beautiful Property, great food and accommodations.
The grounds are beautiful like stepping into heaven so peaceful. The food was also excellent we stayed for 2 nights and both dinners I would rate high. Like everyone else the breakfast is weird they should make more of an effort. For the most part the staff is not welcoming nor are they in a hurry to go out of their way. The women who checked us in and out did not have one friendly word of welcoming or did you enjoy your stay. We felt like we were bothering her. There was another older woman at the front desk who was lovely. On the second night of dinner we had to chase our waitress around for just about everything we wanted. I blame management for not setting standards and expectations.
Overall is good.
Beautiful scenery, whirlpool tub not in working order, not enough hot water to fill tub. Main door not flush. Restaurant excellent. Check in and check out great. Offer shuttle from chalet to restaurant. Nice al a carte breakfast
As advertised. Great restaurant with music and friendly service. The distillery adds a great bit of Gaelic charm for the area and you feel immersed in the history of the area.
Comfy room, nice dining experience, friendly staff. Noisy doors at our cabin accommodation with neighbours exiting etc.
Chambre et lit très propre mais : Très grande senteur d’humidité et de renfermer. Odeur très désagréable. J’ai eu des problèmes à dormir car sinus ont très fortement réagit.
We stayed in one of the cabins. Our stay was amazing, staff and restaurant was awesome. Love this place and will definitely be back!
AVOID
From the time we checked in there was an attitude! Reception desk was not the least bit friendly. We were given our key and told to walk by the restaurant and get our breakfast for the morning! So appealing to have a rock hard cold biscuit in the morning Ate the yogurt and pitched the rest. AVOID
Lovely experience.
Great staff and service.
Everything was great about the resort. The staffs were friendly and the manager gave me a free burger to try as I overhead her conversation with a staff member on how good the burger was.
Staff very friendly and helpful, and good to chat with. Live music in the evening at dinner was excellent! Had a true "Scottish Distillery" feel about the place.
Good location, and responsive staff.
Nice room and staff. They really should spend some money on repairing their road to the lodges. Nearly impassable.
Would never stay again. Very mediocre room at a luxury price. The entire property is tired and needs repair and refreshing. Scrapes on the walls, leaking ice machine in the hall, bathroom door wouldn’t close, peeling paint on the ceiling of the bathroom, bland decor, hard old towels and pillows, window wouldn’t open in our room (the screen was missing so it likely wouldn’t have been good idea to open it anyway), toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, etc. Front desk staff were rude. The restaurant was just okay with nice staff, however, one meal was cold and the music was cancelled and not communicated to anyone. Nice landscaping around the property but I would definitely not recommend this hotel.
The hotel looks very nice and the bar and restaurant looked very appealing. Unfortunately we did not use either as we were staying in the lodge and they advised not to walk outside at night because of sighting of bears. They suggested we phoned and they'd pick us up and take us back to lodge, we we were to tired to be bothered with the fuss. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed for breakfast so we had a takeaway away breakfast. The room was very spacious and clean and lots of tea and coffee provided. There was a shared veranda to sit on, wooden chairs were covered in dust 😞
It was a very unique setting within the Glenora Distillery. Very beautiful grounds.
Wonderful setting with a brook running through the property and lovely grounds. Great distillery tour with tasting for a small fee. Fantastic fiddler tonight at the restaurant. My son enjoyed his pulled beef poutine however my lobster Mac and cheese was bland with very little lobster - mostly tips of the claws - which were not tasty. Room is very clean and comfortable
Beautiful landscaping
It felt like I was so at home. Made me feel safe and comfortable. Loved how the bar was walking distance to our room.
Glenora Inn is a beautiful place to stay at. It was clean and the staff were nice. Our suite was spacious and there was daily room service available. I only would change the breakfast and provide more flexible check-in and check-out times. They provide breakfast in a box that you can pick up the night before and it includes a scone, some butter, jam, yogurt, and a chocolate bar. They can certainly improve this or at least include a nice breakfast sandwich specially given there is no cafe/restaurant nearby. Late check-in is not possible and their check-out time is 10:30 am which is way too early and they are not flexible about this.
Challet was very basic nothing to add some local colour. Only the kitchen was renovated. The bed was only double so tight for two people.
Dated, peeling paint, utilitarian rooms. Beware of the lodge rooms. Not apparent in hotel.com site, but these are rooms up a gravel road from the property where dogs are allowed. The incessantly barking dog forced us to be relocated to a chalet. While spacious and a great view, it was not worth even the regular room price. The restaurant was ok. Music was fantastic!
Wir schätzen die ruhige Lage und natürlich das Whisky-Tasting.
Stayed for one night in one of the Chalets. It was quite hot upstairs so we turned on the ceiling fan and the smaller fan provided and it cooled upstairs nicely after a little while. Food was amazing at their restaurant. We do not drink so can’t speak for the alcohol that they offer. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Loved!
Beautiful location, nice accommodations. Good food in the pub. Whiskey tour was great. Only suggestion would be to have dinner menus available in the rooms, and breakfast arrangements were too complicated.
Great property wonderful staff Awesome food Excellent entertainment
The staff were friendly. We opted for the private distillery tour, and Donny was fantastic. I booked a king suite and did not expect that the "lodge" would be a five minute drive down the road in a cabin with 4 apartments. They provided a shuttle service, which was nice because we were sampling whiskey and had diner. The only thing that I did not like was the cabin itself. It was extremely basic, tiny bathroom and the tv did not work. The front desk warned us about the tv upon check in , yet no one did anything. That evening, we called the front desk, over and over and no one answered. We felt very alone. I ended up snooping around and finding out who the satellite provider was, called them, found the satellite box, figured out the account, and the kind kind kind lady at Shaw helped ME to fix the Inns tv service. LOL. The inn should have done that because they knew about it before they checked us in. I am ok with everything, but not helping customers with the basics , I am not ok with.
A lot belt place friendly staff and great restaurant. Accommodation in need of updating a bit shabby fridge and TV didn’t work properly
I will come again.
Room was very comfortable, enjoyed the patio which faced the brook and gazebo. Restaurant was excellent, staff friendly, everything well placed for a quiet weekend getaway.
Amazing
The property is amazing. The bub is a small one to accommodate the guests at dinner times as the property is a little far from Inverness. The stream going through the property and the location is so charming.
Overall wasn't overly impressed. The distillery tour was cancelled due to staff shortages - very disappointing as that was the main reason to book here. Not much to do on the property, location was secluded and not close to town. Restaurant was nice and food was okay. Room was clean but no elevator to second level in the room we stayed in. Would pick somewhere else next time.
Great Stay!
Very clean, comfortable and friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely return. We even got to listen to live Celtic music in the evening.
Very quiet amongst the mountains, just beautiful, inly negative we didn't have all the silverware in the breakfast package , otherwise we were pleased with everything! Thank you for making our 27th anniversary celebration a success! Kind regards Kelly and Dave Beam
The scenery was beautiful, the staff was very helpful and pl.
The come on is the gorgeous distillery grounds. The chalets--very expensive--are nearly inaccessible, terrible floor plan, numerous maintenance issues including an exploding lightbulb. They did refund our money. Don't stay there--drink the booze.
The dining experience & live music were outstanding.
Well maintained friendly staff and very helpful
A Beaitiful Property and Idealic Location
Overall a nice stay. A little disappointed in the servuce. Our tv wouldn't work. Tried to call the front desk at 8am for an extra towel but no answer. Only two towels for three guests. TIP: Ensure you have everything you need before 10pm the night before. The food and music were excellent!
The room was disappointing. The staff was friendly and the Pub was good.
The food was excellent
A wonderful place to relax and enjoy amazing fine food, whisky and scenery! I'd stay longer next time!
Loved the beautiful location, supper and live music. Floor was a bit cold, could use rug.

The cabin was rustic. Loft bedroom was cramped and tiny, hit the head to the beams.
