Quiet area. Large room and comfortable beds. Staff is awesome They offer good transportation and activity ticket, better price than doing it by ourselves on site.

We booked 8 nights here. The hotel is well maintained and the pool area is pristine. The room has ample space compared to other hotels. The Wi-Fi and English speaking television shows and movies are a bonus. The breakfast buffet is delicious, and it has a wide variety of food to choose from. The omelettes are the best… made with fresh eggs. Most of all, the staff is a “top-notch” team who deserves recognition for their professionalism and attentiveness to details. We were amazed at how hard they work together to accommodate the guests. They always provided service with such wonderful smiles and a bit of humor! The desk staff (Ruby and Henry) really shine when it comes to providing recommendations, making reservations, arranging transportation, purchasing show tickets or tours, and tracking laundry services. We are now in Da Nang, and truly miss the Gemside River Resort, especially the staff. If we go back to Hoi An, we would not hesitate to book here again. Thumbs Up and hope to see you all soon.

Amazing stay in Hoi An! Staff is amazing, helpful, and extremely nice! Away from the craziness of Hoi An Ancient Town but still walking distance on the other side of the river. 10/10 recommend.

Ruby at reception is awesome. She goes the distance in customer service.The cooks are great. Breakfast is plentiful. The pool is exceptionally clean and relaxing on the hot days. Housekeeping is done daily. We extended our 4 nights to 10. Within walking distance of old town but often take grabs when it’s too hot or we’re tired. Tours can be arranged through reception some at reduced rates. Restaurants and spas are abundant. Laundry is close by as well. Overall a great place and affordable.

Ruby was the most fabulous and gracious host ! We were treated so special! She took breakfast orders the night before to ensure our breakfast could be served before our tours! The money exchange at the hotel was great! The view of the river was beautiful and the pool was clean and refreshing! The room was very clean and spacious! There was bottled water left for us daily ! The hotel was easily walkable to the night market and to Hoi A memories! We walked to many restaurants and shops! Would highly recommend Gem Riverside hotel! The hotel and staff , especially Ruby were truly gems!

Nice location outside of the main busy area. Free bike rental and map to a cute 30 minute bike ride around the little island. Easy to get a Grab to main tourist areas. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Laundry service next door that staff can assist with. A charming two star hotel.

It’s okay

We loved our stay at Gem Riverside during our honeymoon! It’s the perfect location, just a 10-minute walk from the hustle and bustle, so it’s peaceful but close. Ruby at the front desk is one of the sweetest people we’ve ever met and the entire staff is wonderful and very helpful. The pool is amazing and the room was exactly what we needed.

Gem Riverside is a beautiful hotel with an outdoor/indoor shower and clean spacious room. I love the location that it’s away from the noisy streets and vendors. From the moment we checked in, Ruby went over and beyond to help make our stay the best. I lost my passport at the airport and she called the airport and was able to track my passport, made reservations with new drivers since we had problems with our hired driver, and after we checked out she is even in contact with us to arrange for excursions and drivers. Ruby you have made our family trip to Vietnam 10 times better with your honesty and kindness.

This really was a gem. I really appreciated the staff who helped get around and gave better prices for the local attractions and transportation. The pool was super clean and the stay was comfortable. Special thanks to the staff at the front desk who made us feel at home and let us use the bikes to get around.

Hoi An gem!

We booked this stay quite last minute as we hadn't planned to stay overnight in Hoi An. But so glad we did? We were welcomed warmly and the hotel was lovely with a big pool by the lobby. We had a nice balcony as well. Location-wise, you can walk to the shopping streets and food after crossing a narrow bridge.

The staff were so friendly and helpful

Ruby, Lily and Hung made my stay very comfortable and had time for all my questions. They were friendly and caring about my stay in their hotel and city. The pool was very nice and quiet. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The back rooms like mine had a noisy rooster that was in a property behind the building which had a consistent 4am 4 or 5 calls each morning but still an ultra positive stay!

We loved our stay at the Gem Riverside. The property was in a great location on a quiet street. It was only a 5minute walk to the old town. The room was massive with a comfy bed. The highlight for us was the pool - it was fantastic. It was very clean & had a shallow and deep end. We would definitely come back!

Like: The staffs were nice and polite. The hotel location is good. Don't like: Bath tub surface is not even, it slopes down from half of the tub to other end and very slippery, very dangerous, I almost fall couple times taking a shower. Breakfast area is very small, hotel has some chairs and tables set up outside to eat breakfast and was bother by people trying to sell merchandise and begging for money.

Great staffs and customer service

Quiet hotel that's away from the main activity but only about 8 minutes to walk to central market. Staff are super friendly and want to make sure you enjoy your stay. Pillow top bed was comfortable, absorbing the shoulders and hips after a day of walking around. Room is big and modern with lots of light. While it is a little out of the main tourist area, that is great if you want a quiet and comfortable room with friendly staff. Riverside 'gem' was truly a gem and I'd be happy to stay again.

Brilliant place to stay. The staff were great and were great with recommending tours and booked them for us. The Hotel was about a 10 minute walk into town. Highly recommend this Hotel.

The shower had no screen on it so everything got wet in the bathroom when someone showered. Peeling wall paper, damaged flooring. Rooms in need of a refresh

Fabulous hotel

Fabulous Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. I only had breaksfast once - they are not currently offering a breakfast buffet as not enough visitors have returned since Covid, but you could order from the menu and what i had was very nice. The rooms were clean, spacious and above all for me, nice and quiet. Location wise, it is a short 910 minute) walk to the old town where you will find the markets, shops and a great choice of restaurants. The hotel also had a lovely swimming pool and they offered bicycles for riding free of charge. Overall a great hotel and highly recommended.

What a great Hotel.

What a great place to stay in. The hotel is in a very quiet area very close to the old city, restaurants and night market. The receptionists Mr Bing and Ms Ruby were extremely kind and very helpful. They explained what to go and see while in Hoi An and also helped us to book tours which was cheaper than the tour offices in town. They also stored our bags until the evening so we had our mind at rest, We would definitely recommend a stay in Gem Riverside Hotel. We will be back.

Room had some dead bugs, a live spider, and aome ants. Room got really hot during the day because you cant keep AC going at a decent temperature unless you are in the room. Hotel staff was great and friendly and the area is nice

Very large nicely furnished room. Balcony with views of river and hills in the background. Peaceful neighborhood within short walking distance to the old town and night market. Will definitely stay again.

Our family of four stayed at the Gem Riverside Hotel for 5 nights. We were very satisfied with our stay. The staff is excellent and the property was fantastic. If ever in the area, we'd definitely stay here again.

Very cute and kind receptionist at the front. The hotel was very clean and spacious and quiet and peaceful. The night market was located across the bridge and then the shopping stalls begin so we didn't need to walk too far to get to the stalls, however google says it's about an 18 minute walk from the hotel to the midst of the night market so take that into account. However, because the hotel is located further away, it was much more quiet, peaceful and tranquil. Very clean as well. It was easy to arrange an airport transfer through this hotel via email before our trip and they called us to verify we were on the 16 seater we booked from the airport.

Gem Gem

We spent two nights at the Gem Riverside while visiting Hoi An. The hotel is located across the river from Old Town. The staff are excellent and accommodating. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony and the pool area is beautiful but we did not use the pool this time. The buffet breakfast on day one was very good but were surprised on arrival for breakfast on day two when the buffet was not available. Turns out the staff decided there were not enough people to have a buffet. A minimal a la carte breakfast was offered instead. We enjoyed our stay at this very nice hotel but probably would not choose to stay there again as it was a tad out of the way for us walkers.

Beautiful town, friendly host, clean facilities!

Relative new hotel so all facilities are very clean and new. However, the staff are what makes the difference as they took the time to share the key attractions of Hoi An, making sure we get the best experience in this area. Hotel bicycles are also available for rental which we rode to explore Hoi An. Its truly a beautiful town to visit and Gem Riverside is at the quieter area, less of the buzzling city life and vehicle. We did our laundry here as well! Handwashed, clean and smells really good. Brought my clothes back and 3 weeks later, it still smells awesome. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Great place, even better staff!

We only stayed at Gem Riverside for a night but had the best time! The staff was so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond in every interaction. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Hoi An!

the location is okay, not too far from ancient town. bicycles are provided, which are good. there is water dispenser for drinking, which is good too.

I visited gem 3 years ago so i expected same quality but sorry gem has went downhill i know everywhere hotels suffering. But we have been to 5 hotels in 3 weeks all trying better than gem and lowering prices so sad to say i want be back.

Amazing hotel, staff & location

Amazing hotel, pool, staff, location, etc. Breakfast was limited to manager gave us money on the 3rd morning. Will be visiting again.

Check-in smooth and comfortable while we sat and had a complimentary drink. All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Hotel quiet and a shortish walk into the main part of town for plenty shopping and restaurants. Our room was spacious comfortable and clean with a nice view of the river and the swimming pool. Buffet breakfast had plenty of choice including a stand where they cook eggs for you. This was an oasis of calm in an eventful holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make your stay enjoyable.

The staff were the most friendly staff I’ve ever come across. Yummy at the front counter is the sweetest woman. Everyone was very accommodating. The rooms were large, pool was beautiful and breakfast was nice.

We loved everything about this hotel! It was clean, comfortable beds and had a spacious room with a balcony! The staff were so friendly and helpful! A special thanks to Lily and Yummy who helped us with wonderful suggestions of places to go, excellent restaurants and getting us taxis anytime we needed! The breakfasts were great and had lots of choices. The swimming pool was so refreshing and clean! We stayed here seven nights and we could have stayed longer! it really was our favorite hotel in Vietnam and we definitely recommend staying here!

Best stay of our two months in Asia

What a beautifully maintained property! And run by the kindest, most accommodating team. We booked for six nights...and extended. The food was great and served in pristine conditions. The pool is large with the perfect temperature and the hotel is located just a quick walk over the bridge from old town. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable, wifi reliably fast. We just can’t think of anything that needs improvement at this hotel!

Easy and quick check on. Thanks to the great staff working at this property, you can’t ask for better service. They are wonderful with kids and show so much respect. We felt valued and welcomed. Quiet and able to walk to town. Thank you Yummy and Haley, and the rest of the staff for making great memories for my family. Hope to be back one day.

Really nice hotel. Service is fantastic. Pool is great. Location is good. It’s a 10 minute walk to the heart of old town Hoi An. My wife likes being away from the action and it’s perfect for her. I like the action and would have preferred to be in the old town. Happy wife, happy life.

This was tucked away from old city center but near enough to walk. Staff was attentive, pleasant and accommodating. Enjoyed the courtesy bike as this is best way to tour old town. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Everything about this hotel was first rate.

Hoi An is a beautiful little town. It is a little bit of a walk to the old quarter but it’s nice to get away from the craziness.

The best little secret in Hoi An

Just perfect relax spot for the family between visiting the busy Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. The food options at the hotel are great but really so much more to explore in the village. Use of the hotel bikes and also just a short walk into the main markets makes this a great spot to stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

A perfect chill in Hoi An

We just arrived from hectic Hanoi. The location of the Gem just over a small bridge only 5 minutes walk from main attractions makes this a perfect spot for a quiet and relaxing stay, the family enjoyed the pool. The staff were all so friendly and helpful.

Everything about this hotel is perfect! The rooms are beautiful, the pool and dining area are lovely, the location is just 10 min from the old town but it is the staff that really make this hotel special. Yummy and her staff treat you like a movie star and I can’t thank them enough for everything they did to make our stay here special.

Simply Awesome

We loved our time at this hotel. Straight from the start the employees are so happy, helpful and tend to every need. The room was excellent and we thought the outside bathroom was awesome. The Front of Office Manager, Yummy was excellent in every regard, such a asset to the hotel. The restaurant was very good and the breakfast was great. Overall a great small hotel and we will definately go back when we go to Hoi An.

I loved this hotel, the staff is so friendly and helpful. The room was big, comfortable and clean as well I have to mention the bed was soft which was so uncommon and nice in this area. The breakfast was also very good with plenty of options, I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Location nice and quiet and only a short walk to the hussle of the Old Town. Bikes at hotel excellent condition and plenty available to borrow. The rooms were very spacious for family of 4. Views of country sides were spectacular. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a newly opened hotel (I believe January 2019)! I was impressed from the moment I stepped out of the car. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Check-in was easy and my room was LOVELY! I chose a Junior Suite, Balcony, River View and it was just what I needed. My Vietnam trip got off to a terrible start when my purse, phone and camera was stolen in Ho Chi Minh City. I was really down about this trip after being robbed, so I needed a mood booster. This room was modern and got great natural light during the day. I instantly felt better after I got settled. I liked it so much my 3 night planned stay in Hoi An turned in to 5 nights because I needed to have a good environment a little while longer before moving to the next unknown. The entire staff had such positive energy and it was wonderful to be greeted by friendly faces for those days I was there. There were 3 things that I had to complain about. First they don’t give you an extra key card to keep the AC on, so the room always needed to cool when I returned. Second, they don’t have irons in the hotel so you have to pay for them to press your clothes or go wrinkled. If you need laundry service Ms. HOA laundry next door offers a great service at a fraction of the cost. Third I didn’t like the 3% fee for paying with a credit card. All in all I had a GREAT stay!

From the moment i walked into the reception at. GEM RIVERSIDE HOI AN i was greeted by Haley reception and friend straight away. Could not have done anymore for me and my wife. Hotel was super in everyway following day we met. Yummy couldnt have been anymore help and felt like we knew her for ages. And daisy helped us when we checked out. Overall one of the best hotels we have been to. And we have been to plenty throughout asia.

We travel a lot - everywhere!!! This WHOLE package for a hotel was - maybe - the best best ever!!! Location, room size, room condtion, staff, pool size and location, food, everything!! Everybody including the staff and clients were happy! True pleasure!!

Fantastic deserves 5 star

This is a fantastic little boutique hotel where they learn your name and genuinely care about your stay and general well being. We are a family of four and stayed 4 nights, could of stayed longer! We had a ground floor room with a bathroom in an open private courtyard, was reallt nice - bonus here you get two showers and its huge! Walk out oyr door straight into the pool, pool is nice and warm, just the way i like it! Breakie was good - all that you needed. Walk into town is 10 minutes and at the moment it is soooooo hot here, its unbelievable- so download grab (uber) and get a ride, save all the walking for in town.overall a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel. We have moved out to premium sunrise and its just not the same, 15-20mins to get into town and the service isnt fantastic!

Good hotel, 7 minute walk to food and markets, Can be hard during the day with the heat and traffic (small bridge) Hotel doesn't suit toddlers, floor is slippery when wet, bars on balcony are not safe the gaps between the bars are to large and kids under 3 would fall through them, same with the baby cot, the cot had missing bars and large gaps between them. Hotel staff very nice.

Perfect choice of Hoi An!

This hotel is really a hidden gem. Although it’s not around the main area of Hoi An, that’s the point to stay here coz it is quiet and less crowded. Hotel provide free bicycles for guests, so we can easily access to the main area. The staff here are all very nice and friendly, especially Lucky he gave lots of recommendations and tips staying in Hoi An. We will definitely come back!!

Absolutely brilliant service from the minute we stepped through the door. All the staff were lovey, couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Had room service and ate in the restaurant food was delicious. Got my nails done in the spa and all the staff were friendly there too. Honestly was sad to say goodbye to this hotel and the staff. It was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, the bell boy came to help me with my luggage. I was upgrade to a bigger room on the 4th floor. The lobby was beautiful and the pool was pristine. I got a lot of tips on where to go and what to do. The hotel is about 10 minute walk from old town, I don't even need to get Grab. The only thing was that the spa was not very impressive as the main manicurist was off during my stay. I was also charged 3% credit card fee for using my credit card. I understand they are small business, but somehow it really feels like they nickle and dime me.
