The door could only half open because of warped floor, smashed window blinds, hair on bed covers, one big and small towel for two people, leaking sink. No staff on arrival, couldn’t find booking despite having called in the morning, was told things would be fixed tomorrow (was a one night stay. Avoid.
This hotel is in a great location, it’s very close to shops, restaurants, markets, etc. However, we had some problems with our stay... - The AC in our room was leaking the whole time and the water dripping was loud when trying to sleep. - The bathtub (no shower) was also leaking every time we used it and it was bad. The water flooded the bathroom every time severely. - There was a lot of mold in the bathroom as well you could see and smell it right away. We informed the staff about this issue and they just put one of our bath towels on the table underneath the AC! - Very very noisy (you can hear other people in the hotel through the vents and the street outside was very loud all night long) The room has potential but it is extremely old and really needs the amenities fixed. Overall we would not stay here again.
Good 👍
Good location with lots of food and tour options nearby. Unfortunately not the best of places to stay, the window in the room looked out onto the main stairwell which was covered in junk and meant the light was on all night. The room never felt entirely clean, bed sheets weren’t changed, bin was never emptied and open bottles of drinks in the fridge upon arrival. The safety box also did not work, lighting was often flickering and the noise from around the hotel was loud. A shame because the location is great and had potential but felt let down.
Not a good hotel
nobody at reception to check in or check out. had to call them. room walls stained and dirty . AC fan was held open with a tooth brush so the air could flow. not a good hotel
Dirty, noisy, staff never around.
The property wasn't easy to find with google map. The signboard needs to be fixed. The room looked old and dirty. It wasn't a pleasant stay but just an overnight stay. Tour guide minibus couldn't drive in the narrow road and we had to walk to the main road. Wouldn't recommend this place.
Choose Another
We may not have read enough reviews before booking in here. But really, except for the location in the heart of old town we really did not want to spend any time here. I found the air stagnant, the shower was a bathtub with shower wand with no mount. For a tall person it was awkward and the floor would be drenched. Not that we need a tv, but ours was fuzzy and even with request for service it was rebooted but no better. There was never anyone at the front desk. The Spa appeared to be closed, scooters were parked in it. I get it that these are old buildings and we stayed in many like this because 'character' and 'heritage' hotels are usually so rewarding. Not so much at the Gem.
Stayed one night and the other was cancelled last minute. Jenny was rude and unhelpful and I had to find alternate accommodation. Room was basic, TV didn’t work and very noisy. Would not stay again due to Jenny’s bad attitude.
No available rooms
We arrived to be told there were no available rooms despite having pre booked and payed.
It was our worst stay ever! Don’t go to this hotel! We arrived late in the night and then they moved us to a different hotel close by. In the morning they told us that we need to move the hotel again. The communication was really bad. They told us that the hotels don’t cooperate and we need to arrange the move by ourselves. We went on a tour the day and when we came back they moved our whole stuff to the other hotel. Once we arrived there to hotel room was very dirty and we had a water leak in the bathroom. Surprisingly the breakfast was at the other hotel where we stayed the night before (but they don’t cooperate). We felt so unheard that we couldn’t stay there one more night.
Nice cosy hotel low cost in great location
Staff are amazing and friendly very helpful. Location of the hotel is great within a 5 minutes walk from all the important destinations and some great food spots. WiFi is very temperamental so doing work was difficult. And the walls are quite thin so if someone is noisy you can hear it clearly
The property itself is great value for the money, but what really makes it worth a visit is their concierge, Jenny. She is FANTASTIC. She was always available to answer our questions, take care of bookings, etc. rooms were clean but basic and the included breakfast was good. Still can’t say enough good things about Jenny however, she really helped us so much on our first visit to Vietnam!
picture is misleading-- water is not drained well in the bath- fading paint o the wall- air conditioner is not working
The room was not as the picture. It was too overcrowded and outdated. It didn’t feel clean, the plugs didn’t work and there was no toilet paper in the room. The staff were very helpful and quick at getting us into a room as we arrived in the early hours. Staff were friendly and allowed us to leave our luggage for as long as we needed. Nice enough to look at in the front, but our room needs updating, decluttering and electrics fixed.
Location is convenient but car or taxi can't go near to the hotel since hotel is located in a small lane. You need to walk for 500 m to get to the car or taxi. Water supply in the toilet is very poor. Can't even flush the WC and have a proper shower. Not suitable for a family.
Front desk was very friendly and accommodating despite our 11PM check-in. Rooms are large albeit ageing. Location is good for Hanoi.
Clean
Good location, decent breakfast but that are all good things I can say about the place. It's run down, dirty!!!
Not at all like ot says on website air conditioner dripped through electric light onto bed TV wasnt working, breakfast was laid out in another hotel, and little flying midges aĺ over it A twrrible expwrience we cut short our sray there
Do not book here - SCAM
I recommend staying at a hostel over this. This hotel is completely misrepresented on Hotels.com. I am upset that the website even allows it’s listing to continue when the rooms and amenities very clearly do not match the photos shown. When we arrived the first hint something was wrong was that the front desk area looks nothing as pictured on the website. My husband and I found out later this is a picture of another hotel down the street, how is this allowed? When we got to our room, yes the furniture looks like it is the same furniture from the photos - but after years of neglect. We paid for the honeymoon suite - there was nothing romantic about this room. It was dirty with clear dirt on the floors, baseboards and smudges all over the walls. The wallpaper was peeling completely off in some places and there was some kind of insulation foam / caulking that was hastily done in other places to keep the walls together. The 5th floor city view from our room looked out upon what looked to be an abandoned building used for laundry. What I thought would be a wonderful soaking tub was dirty, had not been polished in a long time, and had no hot water. The floor of the bathroom was covered in water when we arrived and never dried. The only pros of this room was the location in the Old Quarter and grainy English movie channel on the TV. We were totally ripped off by the pricing, no one should stay in any room here for more than $15 USD a night (we paid $55).
This property located in middle of backpackers' alleyway... but perperty has 2 buildings. Recommend "Veris" morden than this "Gem"
It’s a run down, wall in the hole motel. So dirty, dusty and many things broken from shower to outlet, bed, chair, etc. Don’t trust the photos shown, check out the room yourself. Pricey for this crappy motel
I booked two rooms here for 3 nights from Dec 24-26, 2022 through Expedia website. When I arrived, the hotel did not look like what was presented in the photos of the booking site. The hotel rooms were old, out dated, the lamps didn't work, missing art work on the wall, pain peeling, buggers splatter on the bathroom wall, bath towels had holes in them with some type of yellow stains. The room smelled musty and like it had a smoker living in it for years. I cannot not express the difference between the website pictures and the actual hotel room, it was night and day. Not to mention the lack of customer care, they had no receptionist and their phone number is not in service. No refunds available at the moment, I've been charged for 2 rooms for 3 nights that we did not stay at. Expedia is saying they need to contact the hotel( which their number is out of service) and the hotel staff is saying I need to talk to Expedia. Getting the run around from both parties. I would not ever suggest anyone book at Gem Premiere Hotel and Spa. This was a family trip for us and it out a big damper on out family vacation.
Fine for a night
Fine for a place to crash before heading to Ha Long Bay for a cruise...plus they let us keep our luggage there on the way back before our flight. Beds were firm, address little hard to find (no cars allowed on their road) & hotel over multiple buildings. Wifi worked & easy to walk around Old Quarter area. Welcome drinks weren't served due to late arrival.
The shower was disappointing, water pressure not strong and there was no kettle inside the room despite packets of instant hot drinks provided. Other than that acceptable for short stay though as amenities are not too bad around this accommodation.
Ok
There are no VIP excess Hotel condition was extreme bad no maintainace 3 lights / 2 power point are not in working condition Bathroom accessoty such as hand Shower badly damage. Regret expedia should check before selling thier room. Worst hotel i ever stay. Moreover exoedia price in very much higher. Not worth 5usd for that room i paid sgd30 .
THIS HOTEL IS A DISGRACE....whomever took the pictures deserves some award. Arriving at the hotel the staff seemed pleasant and semi efficient. After we checked in we were lead to our room, I immediately noticed how dirty the hotel was and how the walls were crumbling. We were taken into a room that at superficial glance looked ok but then the surroundings sunk in. Dirt on the walls, dirt on the floors, bed as hard as a rock. The linen smelt and looked like they had used the same linen since the 80’s. The toilet was leaking on the floor. We wanted a drink so went to reception and asked them how to get to the roof top bar (that they use as the primary picture when advertising) only to be told that it was no longer there. We asked them to the fix the toilet and went out. On our return they said it was fixed but when we got back it was still leaking all over the floor. I picked up a towel to soak up the water and the towels smelt as if they had been washed in a cigarette factory
The facility is older than I expected. The room I stayed in have some furnitures that are very worn out. Towels and pillows can be updated.
Booked into gem and when arrived said the hotel was fully booked and moved us to a lower quality hotel and never compensated for the change.
SCAM.. photo by hotel.com is trap..refer review
They are cheaters. Unfortunately i read review after I trapped. They have done same with many customer. You will book for GEM suite room but after you check in they will ask you to go 20 Mtr away in another old building with full off smell and dirty even not worth $20. Hotel.com team looks also involved. I made 2 time call each time 20 min over international roaming but no use..I spent another $100 on roaming call to singapore. Nightmare..
Was assigned to stay in their sister hotel
Check-in counter is at the next door hotel. Staffs are very friendly but unfortunately I was assigned to stay in another hotel along the main street named The Art Classic Hotel, as there are no available room at Gem Premier. I was given a room on top floor. The breakfast is very simple and not much choices.
Lovely boutique hotel with best services . All staff were amazing, so welcoming and helpful,
Was here 3 years ago so was looking forward to stay in their new wing but no luck this time round. Rooms are clean and tidy but the hardware like aircon, tv, fridge, toilet seriously in need of servicing or replacement. Only positive comment for the ever friendly ,helpful(Jenny) and honest staff(oops forgotten her name sweet looking specky girl) that made up for the negative comment. Upon checking out, I left my mobile phone at the lobby and she ran to the main road just in time to return me the phone before the taxi drove off. :)Appreciated !
It’s been a wonderful holiday and fabulous hotel to stay in. We spent two nights in this hotel and we like it so much. Love the room, we had a big room with a small private balcony and the bath tub is so nice.. Peoples in the hotel are extremely friendly and nice and they arranged our Honey Package. Tom was amazing responding to emails and any changes we thought about. I must add that we actually only booked about 4 weeks before the trip! He quickly replied with a suggested Itinerary (with what we had asked to do & what she suggested) which worked out perfectly! We went to Ha Giang..Hoi An...Hue... Saigon...a 7 night Mekong river cruise on "The Jahan"....Siem Reap (20days). All transfers, hotels, tours, drivers & guides were excellent. The cruise was truly amazing & would highly recommend it.
DO NOT STAY HERE
Do not stay here. These people are dishonest and quite frankly I felt in danger. After being asked multiple time am I travelling alone, I was taken away to an entirely different property, thrown into a strange room at the bottom of the stair, that stank of mould, now window or a proper door. To be honest I felt like I was in a scene from the movie 'Taken'. After a huge argument I finally managed to get out of there and put into another hotel, where I was warned to lock my windows and door at night. I had to sleep with furniture up against the door. It was a dreadful experience The rooms look nothing like this. The hotel - unrecognisable!!!!
Overall, the hotel was in an amazing location and the staff were extremely helpful. We got upgraded on our arrival (it really wasn’t much of an upgrade). They must have JUST finished painting because it smells very strongly of paint. This improved when the AC was on but appeared again when it was off. We stayed a total of 3 nights and on the last two days, our room smelled VERY strongly of sewer. Otherwise, the hotel is very clean! Hot water and AC worked great. The staff was fabulous. Breakfast was also really great. Bed was somewhat firm but that’s to be expected of Asian countries. Aside from the smells, everything was great!
You get what you pay for
The windowless room was clean- the tv worked, they provide a nice robe and slippers are ok- the shower stall has no door and the bath mat is soaked in a few seconds- breakfast is fine with eggs to order and a pretty extensive menu selection that they serve really fast- what’s iffy? The cost is unbeatable but the furniture is pretty worn however that is negligible considering how I am rarely in my room during vacation- area is in a narrow alley surrounded by other hotels etc and it is literally around a corner or two from St Joseph’s Cathedral and in a pretty central area- you can decide
Wonderful staff and beautiful room. Very comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!
Terrible service
At check in things seemed ok. When we got to the room, there was no wifi in the room (just in the reception). I called the front desk and they said they would fix it - but throughout our stay we did not have wifi. The next morning we had breakfast (which was ok - not great) and left to tour Hanoi. Within 3h of being out, 2/3 people in our group got really sick (food poisoning from breakfast). We all rushed back to our room. When we arrived back, we found our air conditioner broken, leaking water all over the vanity and onto the floor. It was like Niagra falls in the room. We called the front desk immediately and after almost 20 mins later they sent someone. In addition, this water incident ruined my super expensive make up and hair straightener (that were on the vanity), When I went down to talk to the manager I was sick, and my stuff was ruined - the manager was not at all sympathetic and said there was nothing they could do. On top of it, they blamed us for leaving the AC on. There was nothing that said we should have turned off the AC. If that is the expectation, it should be communicated or they need to install the keys that turn off electricity when people are not in the room. Such bad hospitality and getting sick was just the cherry on top of a terrible stay.
Not perfect, but fair
The air condition in the room has water dripping. The manager had someone come to fix it, but then it became very noisy. Luckily we changed to another room.
Maybe
The room we stayed has no window. Always smell the humidity when I open the bathroom. I got allergy second day and asked the hotel to change a room for us. Finally had to end my trip early due to the severe allergy.
Boutique hotel in the Old Quarter
Hotel located in a small but busy lane way. Love the services received from friendly hotel staff. For first time visitors, you need to go next door to check-in. If you come home late, knock on the roller shutters and someone will open for you. There is a small buffet for breakfast but they will give you a menu to order Western and Vietnamese items. Wifi is good. The locks on the door is frustrating (hard to open). Booked 5 rooms and we all have the same problem. The ceramic jar and lid for the shampoo and conditioner should be replace with something that doesn't break easily. Overall, it was a lovely hotel that I would recommend for everyone.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredible. Very attentive and hardworking. Staff were knowledgeable of local tours and thanks to Jenny for booked our two week packgage .We are very pleased with all the stages of the trip, from the planning, done in full cooperation with us and in constant consultations, to the concern of all the details and VIP service throughout the trip. She were effective and helpful and promptly responded to all of our requests. Every WhatsApp message was answered immediately. This connection continued from the planning stages and during the trip itself. Every day of the trip we were asked and checked whether we had any problems or requests and any matter was treated immediately. The trip schedule was correct, the hotels were excellent (we chose a 4 stars hotels), the car was very spacious and the guides polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great with a vast selection each morning. The banh mi was delicious! The in house massage was great value as was the laundry service. Facilities were fabulous, very clean, housekeeping had a high attention to detail.
This is our first time at Gem Premier but we will definitely be back The hotel is only three years old but it operates like it has been here a lot longer with great staff and service We have stayed in Hanoi two times now and this is the best hotel and location we have had
Nice style and convenient location. Breakfast and bathroom could be improved.
Great Choice for Hanoi
The staff was amazing and very welcoming. The room was in great condition, but has a glass door for the bathroom which was very strange and no privacy when in the shower (no curtain). The bed was not the most comfortable to be honest but I would recommend this hotel due to its amazing staff, delicious breakfast, and outstanding location.
We stayed in Hanoi for only 24hrs but you really need a longer stay. Gem Premier Hotel was a great choice for location, value, and hospitality. The staff was very friendly, spoke good English, and offered great recommendations from restaurant, tourist attractions, to massage spas. We booked for a 14-day private tour starting in Hanoi and ending in Saigon and had a wonderful time on my tour through Vietnam and cannot say enough good things about them . Ms. Jenny coordinated the details of my tour and was my point of contact with the company. She was incredibly responsive and professional, and accommodated all of my requests leading up to my trip.
We stayed at Gem Premier Hotel while visiting Hanoi. We loved everything about this hotel. Jenny at reception was extremely helpful. She was very kind and such a beautiful host. She helped us book all our tours : 3D/2N Sapa trekking tour which was an amazing experience - our local guide, Shom, was an absolute gem! This was then followed by a 3 day tour of Halong Bay and Cat Ba. Considering 40.000 people make their way there each day, it is truly impressive to be able to spend a few hours kayaking and exploring caves in complete isolation! (Well, with 15 others but we made quick friends so that was all good!). The food and accomodation was way above my expectations as well. and assisted us with anything we needed. Location was perfect! Short 5min walk into old town. Breakfast was great. Lots of variety. We also had laundry service and our clothes were returned neatly packed and folded.
Highly recommend
Staff were excellent throughout our stay. Great location - walking distance to the Hoa Lo prison, Hoan Kiem lake, and the heart of the old quarter - would highly recommend ‘Hanoi Garden’ for dinner). Room was a great size and very comfortable bed. Lovely hot shower and working toilet (note that the bathroom is all glass so you can see everything when sat in the bedroom! We’re staring to realise that this is normal for Vietnam!). Good choice for breakfast.
The hotel is located in a great location- very lively area with great energy. The breakfast is also very good! Staff is friendly.
We stayed nine nights at Gem Premier Hotel and it was perfect. Location, room, facilities were perfect. We enjoyed our time at the hotel and we were looked after by the very attentive staff. Each morning we were greeted at breakfast by either Trang or Kevin who would ask how we were and how our stay was going and if we were happy. Throughout the day as we would come and go one or the other was usually in the front lobby to greet us, answer our questions or share a suggestion as to where we should visit. I am certain that Trang, Kevin and all the staff will do the same for you if your choose to stay at Gem Premier . A perfect location in the city, a beautiful hotel and a staff that truely demonstrated they care.
Some of the hotels I have been to in Vietnam are not very clean. This hotel was I greatly appreciate it.
We had a lovely time at this hotel. Check in was smooth and the room spacious and comfortable. We used their laundry service and the price was very reasonable. We appreciated the complimentary umbrellas as it rained the entire time we were in Hanoi. The stand out for me was their large, varied breakfast, which I greatly enjoyed. The staff were professional and helpful. The location was in walking distance of the ancient town.
A good hotel in the middle of Hanoi's Old Quarter
Our stay at the Gem Premier was good. The first night was a bit rocky because we were first put into a different hotel (next door) but after we sorted out our room is was good. The location of the hotel couldn't be better. It's in the middle of the Old Quarter and is near a bunch of highly recommended restaurants, including the 4P's Pizza which is on the same street. The service is really great and everyone is super friendly. Breakfast is good but finishes a bit early. (6:30 to 9:30am). The only con is that the area is quite noisy and our room did not have a shower, just a tub. Also i would not recommend doing a Ha Long Bay tour through the hotel (operated by Alova Cruises) as it was not very good and the food was bland and paltry.
We traveled with two young kids (3 and 1 yo) so it wasn't easy to find a hotel with enough bedding for our family. The family room in Gem Premier was good sized, with one king bed and a single bed, very clean and had a huge bathroom which the kids loved. There were so much fine details in the room and the entire hotel that amplified the efforts that went into the design. It was certainly very pleasing to the eye. The breakfast spread was awesome, with one of the best bread selection that I've had in Vietnam. The buffet line was filled with rows of food that we had difficulty deciding what to eat every morning the only gripe that I had would be that the restaurant didn't have any plastic cutlery for children, but that didn't dampen our experience in this place. Apart from the hardware, the service staff here made the stay even better for us. Kevin , Huy ,Trang was very helpful throughout our stay, making sure that we were comfortable and we booked our Bai tu long bay 2 days 1 night and Ba be lake -ban gioc waterfall with them .It was an excellent trip and a great experience. Very well organised.
We could not have asked for a nicer hotel. A short walk to the Old City. Nice room, great bed and sheets. The spa was wonderful and the breakfast buffet was delicious with a huge variety. The front desk took care of me when I was not feeling well. They gave me some medicine and delivered carrot juice and ginger tea to my room on their recommended schedule. The Service was exceptional.
Nice place to stay in the old quaters in Hanoi
I stayed there for my last night in Vietnam and was very happy with my choice. I had a beautiful room. They were able to arrange an airport pick up transfer on very short notice. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There was a problem with the hot water, but I told them and they fixed it. The A/C ‘s heat programme wasn’t working, but they had another heater in the room. Unfortunately, there was a bad smell coming from the water pipes, and the bathroom needs some improvements. But appart from that, I would recommend it!
We had a great experience at Gem Hotel. We had welcome drinks, and an amazing receptionist called Jenny helped us with EVERYTHING ( she said she just could not help finding a boyfriend lol) even after we left the hotel she helped us. She was so far the best person we met in Vietnam, her English was great!! The hotel is in an excellent location. Jenny also provided us with a map and recommended nice restaurants and places to go, how to go etc. Our room was clean and was cleaned every day, the facilities in the room were good. My only complaint would be the pillows there were too big and gave me a bit of discomfort but I didn't complain to them while there, the bed also may need a new mattress really soon. The cheaper room that says with window in fact means a tiny window that is not really to an outside, it didn't bother us, but for some people this can be an issue. The breakfast was good, they always had a local kind of food, around 3 kind of fruits, cakes, 2 kind of juices, coffee, tea, and a menu with omelette, sandwich. We would definitely return to this hotel and I would recommend it with confidence. Thank you all Gem staff and Jenny, you won't be forgotten!!
Wonderful
Great hotel right in the centre of all the activity! Jenny is awesome- booked our trip on the beautiful boat- V spirit- in Halong Bay including transport there, hotel in Haiphong, and a sightseeing tour with private driver. Staff was friendly and breakfast was huge!
Photos of the hotel are deceiving. They must have been taken many years ago with zero upkeep since then. Door locks were strange; we had to turn the key 5-10 times one direction before the door would actually lock. There was loud construction every morning around 8 am. The hot water in our room was unreliable and would switch back and forth from burning hot to freezing cold. If you're not picky or planning to be in your room much anyway, and really just need an okay bed to sleep on, this may be for you. But if you're attracted to the advertised photos of the rooms and are looking for a nice real "hotel" stay, look elsewhere.
Staff friendly. Very hard beds, toilet not flushing properly, door did not shut. Great location. Photos not representative of room size. Smaller room had no external window.
Not too great of an experience for the amount we paid. The aircon was dripping with water, window is broken so it can’t be shut. The shower was very difficult to use, and it burns your hand because you have to hold the handle.
The service was great, staffs were very helpful and friendly. However, the room and building need so e improvements. There’re some minor things like missing tiles or peeled paint. The hot water was on and off. One thing that bothered me the most was the noise from the building that is under construction nextdoor, the people were loud and the noise was annoying. The location is perfect, right i the alley and within walking distance to attractions. Keep in mind, the car cannot get into the alley, you you’s have to walk a short distance.
We are made to feel welcome the moment of our arrival. The staff was extremely friendly, questioning often how they could be of assistance. The grounds were beautiful, the airport transportation and overnight trip to Halong arranged was punctual and fairly priced, and the rooms were extremely comfortable.
We arrived late bc of a delayed flight and after serving us a decoy drink they informed us we’ve been moved to another hotel. They couldn’t get their story straight as to why we were being moved. At first it was because they had to give our room to a family and then someone else chimed in and said it was because of the construction and that we should be happy because the place we’re being moved to is a new hotel. We didn’t feel like we had much choice, so we grabbed our bags and followed the guy to a main road (instead of the quaint alley that we originally booked). We arrived at King Palace Hotel and Spa and they guy behind the desk was definitely not expecting us. He knocked on the door to our room before opening it?! Luckily the bed and bath were clean, however, the layout of this room was absolutely bizarre?! (It’s definitely not a new hotel). There was incomplete renovation that left them with a glass wall enclosure that faced onto an outdoor shaft type thing. The construction, that we were apparently being saved from in the last hotel, was also happening here and started at 6am. Not only were we woken up by that, but you can hear everything going on next door. Someone’s cellphone alarm went off, and we heard another guest doing their business and using the shower!? The sound proofing is non existent. Do not book at Gem Premier or King Palace! There’s something shady going on with the reviews, they have to be fake and written by the owners.
Paid extra for superior room with city view got a small room on L3 with a view of a wall and the inside of the hotel (staicase). Did get a move on day2. New room better but in poor condition, door broken, bathroom very smally. Basically this is not a hotel - it is just a bit better than a back packers hostel.
They changed me hotel
They moved me to another hotel as the construction was unbearable. Too loud to stay there.
Everything in the hotel was so poorly maintenance. A lot of weird noise, construction noise, etc. Food also very bad. It is a totally not worthy place to stay.
Good location, friendly staff, comfortable and nice breakfast which starts early which isn't easy to find in Hanoi.
The room and hotel condition was not like I am expecting. Everything look not in well maintenance condition. AC was not cold, TV was so blurred. Many annoying sound like construction activities, water flowing from the pipe and other weird sound.
A memorable hotel in a fabulous location
My wife and our 3 daughters stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. We had family rooms and they were a great size and spotless clean, with a s view of the street area. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful. Special mention to Jenny organised our 12 day trip through Vietnam . She was great in responsiveness and very helpful/friendly in the preparations and even made the effort to meet us . We had personal english speaking guides in Saigon (Mr Thanh), Hoi An/Hue (Mr Tho) and Halong bay (Mr Nam) who were all great and punctual in meeting us with the driver. The tour went like clockwork and we also had our own time to relax or explore ourselves.. I’d highly recommend this hotel for all these reasons above as well as the great location
Wonderful property, rooms, staff, and food! My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in the middle of a long trip through Vietnam in September. We were actually supposed to stay only 3, but we got to extent our stay at the Gem Premier Hotel for 2 more day and we loved it so much. We stayed in Executive suite, which had city View. The room was very nicely appointed, kept clean, and very comfortable. Our booking came with breakfast every morning at their buffet, which was really nice- not just minimal stuff you might find at other hotels. It had everything, including an omelet and noodle and fresh Vietnamese coffee (which is delightful), and local fresh fruits, juices, and anything else you could want. The hotel will arrange trips for you and the regular free bicycle is a great bonus
We stayed for 4 nights. Our room was upgraded to a cathedral view and it was lovely and big. Very comfy bed and pillows , hot shower and good AC. Good to be at hotel that has responsible practices so water bottles can be filled with fresh bottled water not just discarded and linen isn’t changed every day unless requested. . Breakfast amazing with eggs and bacon for those who should have stayed in England and Pho / noodles / rice / pork buns and fabulous rice pancakes made to order. Fresh fruit to die for and coffee and pastries. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff.
Beautiful Hotel with wonderful team
Stayed at the Gem Premier for about 3 nights during our family holiday to Vietnam. The hotel has got everything you could ask for; beautifully decorated rooms, lovely Spa, great location and extensive (more Asian than Western I have to admit but more than enough options),high quality breakfast. The team at the hotel are very welcoming and helpful. All in all I can not recommend Gem Premier Hotel highly enough as it was the perfect hotel for us!
The location is perfect. Walking distance to the old town and night market. They even have bicycles which we enjoyed riding. The room was good too, with a balcony with City view . The best part were the staff. We were very impressed by the services and interaction with Kevin and Hoang at the front desk. Kevin was very welcoming and friendly and helped us with our queries and also guided us with our plans for visiting Hanoi and We booked two tours with this company, the 2 day / 1 night tour in bai tu long bay and 3 days two nights in mai chau and they were both brilliant - really lovely and knowledgeable guides and really special places to stay. Took us to not very touristy places which was so lovely. . Duyen was very helpful during our breakfast and arranged vegetarian options for us and also spoke to us about Hanoi.. The spa treatment was good too (herbal massage. Overall great hotel for the location, good breakfast and the ever helpful staff.)
My wife and I stayed here for 3 days and had a fabulous time. Rooms are very big and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the balcony were amazing. We only had breakfast there but food was tasty and substantial. The service was excellent, staff were very helpful and Thank you to Jenny for arranging our two-week vacation to Northern Vietnam and took excellent care of us throughout our trip. I was nervous before the trip started that there wouldn’t be anyone picking us at the airport or we would get stranded somewhere along our 14 day journey, but there was always someone from the company to meet us at all of our transfers on time and on schedule. This trip wasn’t a luxury vacation, but definitely a high adventure and active itinerary with comfortable accommodations and very tasty and ample food. We wouldn’t have been able to see nearly as much of Vietnam without Gem Premier hotel well organized trip. I feel that Gem Premier Hotel provided a high level of service at a very reasonable cost for our family and made for a memorable experience.
From the moment my family and I walked into the lobby we fell in love with Gem Premier hotel . The staff were very welcoming and informative and the lobby itself had a nice natural breeze coming through which was a welcomed relief from the heat. The welcome drink was also very refreshing. My 6 year old was asking for more! We stayed in a Family Executive room which was spacious and light, . The breakfast was also excellent with a good choice of Western and Asian food. The highlight of the hotel would have to be the staff. They were so lovely and welcoming and nothing we asked was too much trouble.
Friendly staff that is always doing extra mile
Arrived at 10pm, with a morning flight at 7.35am. Staff was really helpful and gave me a morning call in the early morning and sending me off to the main road to wait for the driver. BRAVO services
This hotel is just brilliant. The service goes above and beyond all expectations. The staff truly and genuinely want you to have a good holiday and offer outstanding service in all that they do. A special mention to the restaurant staff and chefs - thank you so much - you should be very proud of the high quality experience that you offer to your guests. we ate at the hotel many times - huge choice on offer - I can't praise it enough. Just brilliant.
Great hotel - Don’t stay anywhere else!
This is a superb hotel, the staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly and the breakfast is amazing! We stayed for three nights while we visited the Old Town. The hotel is conveniently situated about a five minute walk away from the Old Town, far enough to be away from the crowds but near enough to visit easily. If you are planning a trip to Hanoi, put this hotel at the top of your list - you won’t be disappointed!
Friendly Staff
This hotel located in small lane, so cabs can not drop you at hotel entrance. You need to take small walk with your luggage. Also photo of rooms has places very tricky on site, I booked junior suite room, but room size is very small, It's old structure. Staff of hotel is best co operating, they are ready to help you any time with smile. Breakfast is also good.
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Gem Premier hotel. From the welcome we received at check in complete with mulberry juice and Our room was a senior suite overlooking the city view. The room was spacious and bright, lots of room to store and very comfortable beds, some of the best throughout our stay in Vietnam. The breakfast buffet had lots of choice and there was an egg station too.. The location of this hotel is ideal, very close to the old town just a short walk and you are right in the heart of the action. We would like to mention Hoang who we met at breakfast on our last day sadly. He has a great attitude to his job and customers and was so friendly and professional, we are only sad we didn't meet him earlier. and also we would like thanks to Jenny arranged our package tour ( Sapa ,Tam Coc and Hoi An )The tour is really worthy, visiting and getting an idea of the area. The plan is really fun, as you do some trekking, some biking, and some boat (xampan) tours. The landscape is owesome and worthy to see and enjoy. The food included has been excellent and generous portions. This is a great choice if you are looking for a mid range hotel in Hanoi which provides everything you need when visiting this great part of Vietnam. We hope to see you again
Welcome back and what an absolute pleasure to be here after 2 years, as a treat the Hotel arranged for us to be collected from Noi Bai Airport by private car thank you after a long flight this was more than welcome. The check in was as expected warm welcoming and caring the team here excel in service, after a welcome drink we were taken to our favourite room suite 601. Again the breakfast was amazing the best array of western and Vietnamese fare and wonderful strong nutty coffee complimented with superb service and big smiles the perfect way to greet a Hanoi morning after our daily 5am trip to the fresh markets for iced coffee with the locals on the street . We first walked each day the started to use the Hotel bikes which was a wonderful form of transport quicker that walking so giving us mere time to immersive ourselves in Hanoi culture. We did a two days, one night Sapa trekking and Halong bay 2 days 1night with Huong Hai Sealife. It was a great experience, everything was well arranged
Wonderful stay and strongly recommended!!!
We’re staying here for 3 nights and it was a wonderful place that we couldn’t ask for more! The hotel location is very strategic as it’s closed to the old town with about 5mins walking distance. Very warm welcoming hospitality given by the staffs very helpful and always greeting with big smile on their face. The hotel breakfast was great as it provides varieties for guests to choose, both Asian and western styles
My wife and I stayed in this resort for 2 days. And I can honestly say even though this is a 3-star hotel, the facility and services we enjoyed were 5-star. Room is spacious and well-appointed and the breakfast provides a good pselection of local and western food Very pleased we went with them for our Ha Long Bay trip and Sapa trek. It is more expensive than many tours that hostels sell, but the company is extremely professional and the tours are high quality.
I can't even begin to describe how amazing our six-night stay was at Gem . it started before we arrived with excellent communication with Mr Tom in the reservations and continued with the Guest Relation Manager and The reception Hoag and service from kevin on the front desk could not have been better, and service from all the team continued at this exemplary standard throughout our stay. The room was large and fabulous, with high ceilings and fantastic views. Breakfast was exceptional which we enjoyed every day. It's a short walk into town and French quarter. We had a great experience here and would recommend it to everyone.
Stop looking - this is THE BEST hotel in Ha noi !!
We travel a few times a year, and have stayed at many hotels both high end and boutique hotels, and by far Gem Premier hotel has been the BEST one!! First impressions are everything, so from the very first moment of arriving, my Husband and I were very impressed! We were greeted with the gorgeous facade of the front of the hotel, and warm smiles and greetings by the bell boy and front reception staff. The wonderful and beautiful 'Trang' checked us in she was professional, friendly and knowledgeable in checking in guests. And the lovely and very accommodating, 'Jenny ' who is the Manager made sure our stay was a pleasant and enjoyable one. . From the first day to the last day, Ms Jenny gave us VIP service and even walked us to our room! And because this was my 40th birthday celebration, Ms Jenny and the staff executed the surprise perfectly by decorating the room so beautifully with red roses and birthday balloons! The ENTIRE staff - reception, bell boys, housekeeping, food and beverage, and spa staff clearly showed that they are highly trained in their respective roles. They all showed friendliness, kindness, and professionalism. Everyone gave us some kind of attention, even those who could not speak english still managed to acknowledge our presence. We are definitely coming back - already set the date for next year, and we are going to bring our kids and Parents!! Well done to ALL involved in making this hotel stand out above the rest!! It will be interesting to see what our
Our family of 11 stayed here for 5 nights and had the most incredible stay. The staff are the jewel in this hotel’s crown- every single staff member showed us an amazing level of care and were all so helpful and the kids especially loved them. The hotel is perfectly situated close to the ancient town, we rode the free hotel bikes everyday
Staff very intelligent, friendly and helpful. They speak english very well. The location is great.
Quiet and comfortable in perfect location
My daughter and I stayed here for 5 days and wished we could stay longer. They did everything to make our stay wonderful even at very last minute extra day booking and transfers. Welcomed from the moment we arrived right up to leaving for airport. Gave us late check out with still full use of all facilities and room to shower before our delayed flight. We chose mostly to ride bikes as everything was a quick easy ride from hotel. Rooms immaculate and comfortable with full size modern bathrooms, wood quality linen, mini fridge, wifi, and fruit everyday. Staff had good local knowledge and well spoken in English. A pleasure to stay here and definitely would stay here again.
Stunning and great location
We loved this hotel it is really beautiful and quiet and you would not know you are a few minutes walk to the town. It was my birthday and without me mentioning it the hotel surprised me with a bunch of roses and a birthday cake in our fridge. Really thoughtful and much appreciated.
Thoughtful staff and convenient to walk around
The staff are friendly and willing to help us. There was an occasion I wanted to buy a bowl of take away porridge but difficult in expressing in Vietnamese. The staff followed me to the stall and tell them exactly what I wanted. Oh yes, the breakfast is good, it is what I look forward everyday, there is a spread of food and I can order what I want in small quantitiy. Basically the room is clean and comfortable to rest. The only English channel I can tune in is ChannelNewsAsia. After bath the water is a bit difficult to flow down bec the tiles were tilted outward, but if you use your foot to swipe the water inward, then the flow is faster.

Property is not in same condition as photos. Looks run down, worn out, dirty. Room had a balcony with two broken down stools. After squatting all day at street vendors, a decent chair in the room would’ve been great. Staff (Jenny) was 5 stars. So friendly and helpful.
