Quite
Staff were fantastic Friendly and helpful Clean and good location
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and so did my wider family. Staff were great and friendly.
Gecko’s Resort was quiet and secluded. The staff were wonderful, the pool warm, and the food was good.
Very noisy and busy Queens Rd with poor room insulation. Could hear people in next unit talking and playing TV. Our Fan & TV did not work, water pressure in shower a trickle, soap rack fell off wall as did hair dryer. Would not stay here again
Good value spacious resort with friendly staff. I would stay there again.
Good service
Good service
They give welcome water for drink but this time they kept saying it in storage and they didn’t give.
Staff were fabulous. Food was below average and took a long time to come out of the kitchen. You get what you pay for, however the resort is quite dated. The beds in the room were extremely uncomfortable causing me back pain.
Okay
The resort itself is fine. Nice layout, great pool, excellent breakfast and mostly comfortable rooms. It’s the little things: making you pay for wifi and then it cutting out halfway through your allotted time or the absolute gouging at the restaurant or not being able to turn off AC so it’s freezing cold . Considering what I paid, it just doesn’t seem commensurate with the experience.
Janitorial service is very slow had ask for clean our rooms.
The staff are great, the meal& so is the property. Prices are reasonable
Thin walls can hear your neighbours. Upon checking in, there’s bo trolley to transport luggage to the room which was at the very back. To see the fire show, you have to make dinner reservations. I booked a massage and the massage lady didn’t show up. Nice fire show interactive with guests and that was the only thing we really enjoyed.
Great little resort, with the best service staff you could ask for. Loved our stay there
The staff were amazingly friendly and made us feel very welcome. There is a very relaxed vibe about the place. The two swimming pools are extremely well maintained. The reason for a good not an excellent is that the resort is looking somewhat tired, the food was very average, and simple requests were forgotten (like a booking for a massage and a request for beach towels). However, given the price point I’d come again, especially given the lovely staff.
Great place. Friendly staff and the food is excellent.
A first and regrettable trip to Fiji
Location - pretty far from big city Nadi and Suva. But it is near to a great public beach Natadola Beach. Definitely need a rental car to move around. The car rental is pretty expensive, and the petrol is about FJD 3.00 per liter. Hotel shows aged condition all around. The setup of the toilet is quite weird as it does not have a full-sized door to keep the unpleasant odor and ventilation noise down. The only plus point is that the staff are friendly and warm. Food is average. The breakfast is not worth paying for it.
There had been a dead lizard in our room stinking bad food is very limited here and very pricey
It was an excellent stay, the staff team is amazing!
The property is starting to show its age, but it is clean, the food is fantastic and the service by the staff and manager is exceptional.
Service was good. Kitchen was closed before 7.24pm when we arrived as there were hardly any guests. They managed to whip something for us. Quiet, peaceful surroundings, with a good pool. Bit secluded and not much to do or see. Rooms were spacious and clean. Good for a night or 2.
I liked the free DVD rental to watch in the room, since the property is across the Queen's Road from the beach and not so easy to go for a stroll or swim. I also liked that there ware no mosquitos in the room, since it was sprayed just after I checked in, although the toxic fume made me nautious. I didn't like the insecurity of having to write down my credit card details on a paper for the security deposit, despite having given it to Expedia.
friendly staff was the main bonus and was enough communal areas for us to make friends with some other families which was great so positives is it has a friendly, relaxed vibe. definitely a place to stay as a base to cut costs in Fiji however, I was disappointed on arrival as the pictures made it look more upscale/better decor than it is. also there are many older reviews which made it hard to know what we were really getting before arriving. breaksfast was great, but dinner really wasn't great and was expensive, although there is an amazing local restaurant down the road, half the price double the portions. TV didn't work - needed to put on DVDs kids pool water colour wasn't great- didn't go in I think pre COVID would have been great where you could go over to Shangri-La. now they don't let people not staying there in it detracts from gecko being a place to stay as you have to go by car to everywhere- nothing else is nearby. there were other beachfront places which were similar prices which it retrospect could have chosen but had gone with the option of going to ShangriLa the cultural night however with dance and fire show was really good. its an ok place to stay if you just want a place to sleep however I think they are rebuilding the cultural village they used to have. once this is up and running again and a few revamps I think it will be a good place to stay at for at least a few nights and definitely does make the budget stretch further in Fiji
We stayed for one night and our room was adequate for our needs.
Fine
Great hotel, for vacation.
Pros- ez parking, breakfast and dinner we had was very good! Cons- do not go at check in time, according to 1 lady, check is around 2ish,,,,check out is not later than 11 or or get ready to be liberated from your $$$$$ room isnt ready,, we got in at almost 4 after having to leave the place to burn some time. No Wi-Fi as advertised,, even though I asked twice at front desk while checking in, other people had same compliant and 1 of the ladies asked if I had to I can use my own SIM card or buy 1 like she doing me a favor. Rooms too small to accommodate 4
Good location and price is not too bad.
Brads stay
The stay was very homely. Rooms were good, but the service from Mere and the other ladies was excellent. Made you feel like family.
Super friendly and helpful staff!
Excellent, will be going again in future.
Beautiful quiet location, Pool area was clean even after the storm, and the food was amazing,
We had an awesome stay, the service was amazing, the staff were very friendly and efficient. The cleanliness of the environment was great. I would encourage my family and friends to stop over here. It is just a walk away from the Junction restaurant, one of the best restaurant in the area and just near the Shagrila Fijian Resort.
Geckos Resort was amazing. The staff are all friendly and cant do enough for you. The resort is clean, the pools were great and the menu had plenty of variety. Cant wait to go back.
Friendly staff, quiet location. Not far from Sigatoka & the sand dunes. Best for adults. Couldn't fault the service & Fiji Bula smiles, lovely.
The staff were fantastic and room's were clean will go back again.hands up for the cleaners for doing great job
The staff make this place. We enjoyed our stay here
Wonderful
The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. Meals and drinks are delicious and menu has a great selection. This is not a 5 star resort, but is in a beautiful setting by the bush, quiet and wonderful. Vinaka vaka levu to all the wonderful people who truly made our stay enjoyable.
Good clean spacious place. Food quality was poor.
Geckos is basic but cheerful. The staff are super friendly and make the stay a great experience.
Excellent staff
Great resort with amazing value for money
Fantastic experience in a beautiful resort with super friendly staff, all the comforts one needs to enjoy a holiday. If you are after 5 star full luxury pampering by staff focused on getting as much money out of you as possible then this is not your place. If you want a very comfortable room, with access to 2 pools, a great restaurant, a bar staffed by friendly people, a front desk that goes out of its way to help you, and beautiful tropical environment at a very reasonable price, then go to Geckos. During our 1 week stay we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We felt like family members as the staff learned our names, were super friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our holiday enjoyable. For the price of one night at some other resorts we had a week of comfort at great service at Geckos. The food at the in house restaurant was first class, ranging from Lobster Thermidor to a fruit platter it was all very tasty, served professionally and with a smile. The cocktails and drinks were great value, and the front desk helped us organise tours and transport faultlessly. Highly recommended!
Property has no phone and felt isolated due to location and no one apart from security guard at night. Good for short stay if in urgent need or group bookings.
Reasonable cost, handy location to public transport and plenty of parking space. Comfortable beddings. suitable for short or overnight stays.
The food was very average. The TV in the room had no working channels and the wifi went off regularly
Comfortable and Clean
Not a bad 3 star place - friendly staff, the restaurant is good but overpriced for the area, and the rooms are very clean and quite well set out. Nothing flash here, but comfortable and clean.
We stayed only once night and it was a good choice. It's an older property, we liked that it wasn't super modern and everything is in really good shape. Luckily we stayed on a night with the dance / fire performance, what a treat. The dinner menu and drink pricing was somewhat high but it's acceptable if you're getting the show. But if not...? Check in had a minor hiccup when they gave us a room with a non-functional A/C unit but it was quickly remedied. One of the pools was under construction, and some of the grounds need some TLC but overall would be happy to stay again. Gecko's is definitely more traditional Fiji than the Shangri-La across the road.
Its a little rundown. need a few basic things such as iron, tissues enough cups and utensils
Good value for money, helpful friendly staff but the rooms could benefit from freshening up.
A good place to stay
It is a good place to stay when in this part of Fiji. The rooms and the resort have been very clean and the staff friendly. Only the limited (or extra charged) WiFi might be unfavourable for some travellers.
Very poor service no good staff, very bad way of staff talking
Friendly staff. Only down side was no phone in the room.
Great place to stay. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the feel of the resort is very relaxed but there is still plenty to do at the resort and nearby. The restaurant was great and the fire dance night was a highlight of our stay.
Gecko's is the place!
I had a great stay at Gecko's. Although my trip was for business meetings and conference, I had a wonderful time at Gecko's. Such excellent hospitality. Staff are so nice and friendly!
Water pressure would drop significantly if someone would turn on tap in neighboring rooms.
Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Wonderful food. Great entertainment. Excellent staff. Very clean. Maybe bathrooms could be updated.
Great value for money. Lovely low key feel, and treated like an individual. Quiet location (no road noise or barking dogs) but noise does come through from the neighbouring rooms. Staff always helpful.
very clean rooms and friendly staff.rooms were very nice.
The staff are amazing. Love the family atmosphere. A perfect home away from home.
A low key comfortable place with friendly staff. Plenty of eating options around in walking distance.
Gecko's resort is wonderfully quiet. It is extremely laid back while simultaneously the staff are very friendly and responsive. It is an oasis.across the road is the Shangri La resort which kindly allows the us of their wonderful snorkeling reef and dive center. Gecko's in turn hosts many of the latter residents for their wonderful cultural dinner shows. The staff at Gecko's are wonderful, but I have the sense that the Fijian people are overall very friendly and go out of their way to help.
Great service from front desk and staffs are friendly. Just a foul smell was coming from the hand basin area.
Great staff and enjoyed the dinner show on Friday nights
Nothing much around
Good place but as a tourist not much around except for sandunes which are okay
everything was fine with Maria been exceptional as was all of the staff Bula Vinaka
Pleasant stay
Gecko´s Resort was perfectly fine for our short stay in Sigatoka. The room was quite large, with an extra bed, AC, decent TV, coffee machine, etc. Hot water in the shower and toiletries. It is a bit far from the village (you need to take the local bus or a taxi to get there), and they had no free WI FI in the rooms nor in the common areas (only one your free per day to use at the bar). Friendly staff.
Mattress in Room 22 needs to be replaced. The springs were hurting the back and the structure of the mattress is all but finished. Reception and dining area needs to be more inviting
staff are great, entertainment was excellent, food excellent and reasoable prices
convenient location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
Great place, lovely people
Quiet relaxing holiday with friendly, helpful staff. Clean surroundings and easy to get to other places by taxi or bus.
This resort is in a great location and comes with lovely friendly staff and comfortable, clean facilities. Relaxing pool area to lay in the sun or cool down with a swim. The restaurant and bar is reasonably priced and we enjoyed the dinners and entertainment provided each night (for free). TV channels are limited, but they do have a small selection of DVD's you can watch. Public transport is very easy to catch from here or a friendly local may stop to offer you a ride. I found the bed hard but my partner thought it was fine.
We loved Gecko's. It lives up to all its reviews.
We were staying at the Shangri-la for 6 nights and then the last 3 at Geckos. One day we wandered out of the ground of the Shangri-la to have a look at Geckos. At first we were a bit nervous - it was not on the beach and it didn't have the wow of all the Shangri-la facilities. However we had absolutely nothing to be nervous about. We loved staying at Geckos. The rooms were large, beds comfortable, the resort lovely and quiet. Pool was fun to play in, food great and the live show just fantastic. It really did feel like a bit of a second home. To be honest we probably preferred Geckos over the Shangri-la. The only thing it didn't have that the Shangri-la did was a beach front location. But it also didn't have the Shangri-la price tag. This meant we could get out and about and explore and pay for things other than an expensive room We really felt we got closer to the real Fiji at Geckos. The staff were just great and with their advice we were able to get out and about and experience more than we ever would in a big Resort. It was lovely coming back to Geckos each night thought. It was also great for lazy afternoons around the pool. We would definitely come to stay again. The Resort really does live up to all its great reviews.
We enjoyed being at a very small resort
It was a nice and quiet place to stay. The staff were very friendly and it was personal being such a small resort.
Fairly good resort. Conveniently close to Sigatoka.
Excellent friendly staff. Easy public buses to nearby villages and cities. Resort food expensive, so to save money we had delicious cheap meals in nearby Cuvu. The Shangri La resort across the road had an access bridge with great views of tropical fish.
The rooms are very clean. The grounds are very well kept. The staff are wonderful, they make you feel very welcome and very comfortable.
Beds and pillows
Unfortunately the beds and pillows are awful was like sleeping Om concrete all need updating
Like everything so beautiful
Good quality
Good quality
A bit prioritised on money rather than striving for quality humane hospitality.
Just completed an 8 night stay. Gecko,s is for you if you want the most relaxing holiday. The resort is just what we needed to relax and unwind. The staff where out of this world and very experienced in knowing what you needed. The food and service in the restaurant where outstanding, you have to try the lobster, oh my! Thank you Geckos, we will definitely return to see you.
Nice place to stay
Great staff, great food, great entertainment. Not one of the huge crowded places but quite & friendly with everything you need, if you want the beach it is a couple of minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay.
Friendly staff, peaceful and quiet. Could have extra utensils in room, but overall the peaceful surroundings was a plus.
Great location excellent value warm friendly staff
Enjoyed five day stay with Daughter Great staff I felt very safe Helpful information and support to access places Good food free entertainment never ripped off or hassled ! Really enjoyed our stay and would return Only down side our bed was a rock ! But really this did not impact our stay negatively Excellent value not a flash resort but I didn’t pay for this not want it.
Great Hotel
Always stay here when I’m visiting family who are just a walk down the road. Friendly staff and facilities are all in good condition.
Excellent resort with very well tended grounds. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had several meals at Gecko's Restaurant - all of which were superb. Rooms were comfortable and were cleaned daily to a high standard. Would certainly recommend to others and would hope to return. Fire dance was spectacular - well done to all.
Pleasant stay, friendly staff. Serene and quiet environment.
Peaceful Environment & Friendly Staff
Fabulous place to book if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay whilst exploring the Coral Coast of Fiji. The staff are super friendly and knowledgable. Our family of 4 stayed for a week - our 11 and 13 year old had a great time. Beautiful grounds, a delicious restaurant, clean and comfortable rooms, and a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. Very family friendly and great value for money (we got two interconnecting rooms for less than the price of one room in a larger resort)
Love it!
Staff are amazing. Funny, interactive and always remember your name. Food so so yummy.
Nice resort set on lovely grounds
Just had a fantastic 7 days at Gecko's. Very friendly staff who go the extra mile to make you feel at home. Nothing too much trouble. Had my best birthday ever here and would definitely visit Gecko's again. While not right on a beach we had no trouble accessing local beaches, staff happy to help with taxis. We had a rental car from coastal rentals Sigatoka nearby for 4 of our 7daysat a very reasonable cost. Local buses for $1.50 Fiji take you into town and will pick you up right outside. resort.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good restort for cheaper side of things. Not near the beach but those facilities are not very far off either.
A relaxed retreat
We loved our 10 day stay at geckos. It is small and relaxed and has everything you could possibly need. The local village offers 3 great restaurants, The Indiana curry house, Tomlu's seafood restaurant and Stallions restaurant were all really excellent and ga&ve a great alternative to resort dining. We missed having a beach nearby and feel that there is an opportunity here for the village to clean up their beach and encourage more people to use their facilities and bring more money to the local people - who are the friendliest people on Earth! A lovely relaxed holiday.
Great staff
Had a very enjoyable six night stay recently. the staff are the reason that Geckos rates highly also the well priced restaurant. the facilities are basic but adequate. the only criticism is that the rooms are very poorly insulated for sound and you can hear guests next door vey clearly.
Welcoming holiday resort hotel
We were met at Nandi airport by our friendly taxi driver he took care of our laugage and prepared us for the forty minute drive to the Gecko`s resort. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile at the front desk, we were then shown to our room.Everyone who works there made us feel welcomed, they were curtious and respectful. The food was presentable and tasty, the highlight of our stay was the Polynesian Cultural and fire dance. The grounds are beautifully kept and inviting, the swimming pool was clean and inviting we swam most days. We enjoyed walking around the village,We enjoyed catching the local bus into town (Sigatoka) for $1.00.The people were always friendly and welcoming. I would deffinately be recommending the Gecko`s resort to my friends and family.
Very friendly staff, family atmosphere, relaxed , comfortable, traditional dancing entertainment enjoyable,
Tidy place with a lovely atmosphere
Great place to stay and catch up with friends. The fire show was a highlight
