The only good thing about this hotel was the location, however once we checked in, we left asap because we found a cockroach in the curtains… a flying one too. We’re not picky travelers and we like to stay at economically friendly place but would not stay at a place with roaches or bed bugs. Pay a little extra to stay across the street at Pyramisa or somewhere else. I wouldn’t recommend this place as we couldn’t even complete our stay
Excellent service
After a 10-hr overnight bus ride from Cairo, we arrived at the Gaddis in the late morning and we were able to check into our room. Sandra, the receptionist was very attentive and welcoming. Our room was spacious, bright, clean, nice double bed and with a nice small balcony looking to the pool. Within a few minutes we received a tray with complementary tea and coffee and an electric kettle. We were able to have something to eat at the restaurant, served by the manager, Mohamed, and the waiter Ala, who treated us very well and tended to our every need. The next morning we had a great breakfast - delicious falafel, omelette made by chef Salah. The breakfast had good choices of tahini, yogourt, bread, etc. The service at this hotel is excellent from the front desk, to the security and cleaning staff. The hotel is about a 30-min walk to the tourist area of Luxor across from the Luxor temple. There are plenty of taxis and horse carriages along the road! The only negative at the Gaddis is the wifi. It does not reach the rooms and can only be accessed in the lobby and even there it is limited. The Gaddis is a good option in Luxor.
good stay
very comfortable hotel, nice staff,
Business trip
At first I was a little bit surprised - refrigerator from 70-s, plumbing from 70-s and a little bit leaking. But they did not make problems. Step by step I immersed in a good old-fashioned stay - the room was comfortable, it had a balcony (where I could drink tea and coffee) with a good view to another balconies and to swimming pool. The water in the pool was cold but why not to refresh in the heat. The door of my room led to a veranda, it was pleasant to go out on the veranda in the mornings. The breakfast was good. The staff was always friendly.
Affordsble and this is reflected in room quality
Stayed here for 3 days while exploring Luxor. Unfortunately the locals of Luxor made us not want to leave the hotel - it is impossible to take more than 1 step outside the door without being harassed to buy something, or ride in a chariot or taxi, and this harassment continues constantly. Perhaps the hotel could ask the locals not to harass the guests immediately outside the hotel. We tried breakfast once but did not have it again during our stay - would have been nice to have fresh fruit. The bathroom leaks badly, the bathroom floor becomes a swimming pool. The beds were comfortable enough, and the cleaning staff did a good job with the daily turndown service. Free WiFi in the room. Room was affordable and this is reflected in the quality. The hotel is in the shade of other buildings night and day so it is very cold when we stayed, however there is heating in the room. The outdoor pool is also in the shade, we did not witness anyone using it. The speakers for the prayer announcements early morning and late afternoons must be near the hotel as this was very loud in the room. When we were selecting this hotel, it showed on Maps as on the Nile River, and this was the reason for our selection. However the hotel is not on the Nile River, and there is no access to the Nile on foot in the nearby vicinity. If we were to visit Luxor again, we would pay a higher price for a higher quality hotel.
Looks like this hotel was once pretty posh but it's past it's prime. We found it comfortable and good value for the money. Pretty good location in a quieter part of town. Room size was very spacious. Housekeeping was a little sloppy. Breakfast was decent with an omelet bar. If you have mobility challenges be aware the elevator is up a few steps from the lobby.
Friendly staff
A great place to stay in Luxor for a few nights. The hotel itself is walkable from town (about 20 mins) and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay again.
Great, clean and comfortable
The hotel is clean and great for its price. Staff are nice and I really loved the smile of the receptionist. Need just to improve internet in rooms. In general I recommend this hotel. I will be back soon
Great family run hotel with friendly staff in great location... highly recommended
Mr Gaddis is very nice. The hotel is well located and my room facing the pool was quiet and didn't have any road noise. The free breakfast is plentiful and the service was excellent. The room was comfortable including a strong a/c; cold fridge, and good balcony. This is an older hotel and was perfect for my stay.
We chose this hotel because it had wifi but when we got there the WiFi wasn’t working , the hotel itself wasn’t to clean, the walls are dirty, I will say the doorman was the only person trying to help us. I would recomend this hotel.
Cheap as chips
Cheap hotel in need of an update, people were very friendly
Nice hotel staff very nice i love to go there again
Old but Nice and Friendly
After reading other reviews, I wonder what people expect in Egupt and in Luxor. There is nothing very new here. Even the Hilton in Cairo has "tough" bathroom fixtures and an occassional leaky faucet. The Gaddis, where I've stayed four years back, is typically Egyptian. Sometimes they don't understand what you want, but almost always try hard. Enjoy the country as it is and stop expecting Miami Beach.
Expensive for the little service
They didnot trust we already paid the hotel stay before we came, because we paid at hotel.com. It took us almost one hour to get to the room because it was a mess to find the key to the "private parking".
Dirty
The worst hotel no clean for 5 days .so bad expedia need lok hotels before advertising never again
The standard of this hotel has gone down.I asked 3 times for TV English no.the cleaning of room not done.I'm glad I only paid£5.68.the staff not understand English sorry to say .
Do not stay
Arrived after midnight on first day so didn't get a chance to look to close at cleanliness but next day had a look. The balcony was covered in bird poo as was the chairs and table, this was cleaned that day but the mop was taken over the balcony then through the room. Yeuk. There was rubbish on the stairs that was still there the day I left. Pool was dirty and unheated although advertised as heated. Breakfast was uninspiring and dirty tablecloths. Room was supposed to be cleaned everyday but I had to ask for it to be done after 2 days of not being done. The only thing I can't fault is the bedding and towels were spotless and bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly. Would I stay there again no way
Recommended for short stay.
Staff is too courteous. Looked after us well.
Little far from main town
Room not cleaned for 3 days. Cigarette buts in public areas.
the people were beautifull but the hotel needs a lot of work done to it to bring it up to standard, the breakfast was poor, but the staff were very kind
Straight outta the 1980's
Stayed for one night, the staff was nice, let us check in early and held our bags for us the next day. Free-wifi. However, the hotel is just super old... clearly hasn't been updated since the 80's including wicker chairs/bed frames, green astro-turf around the pool area, and the all-encompassing 8-inch tv. The bathroom was shot, the shower door was hanging on for dear life and didn't close all the way. The sink leaked so I had to put a towel down. They gave us two singles instead of a double bed so we pushed the singles together ha. Not unbearable for one night but I would look across the street to the Luxor hotel maybe. Also find this man if you can:Abdul, owner of the Venus hotel in Luxor. He drove us to and picked us up from all the sites in Luxor for the two days for only 300 LE. Great trustworthy guy and solid English
What a shame
The staff were lovely but the hotel was unfortunately filthy, it is a shame and possibly down to the recession in Luxor. Can I say Luxor is one of the safest places to stay but unless tourists start to come back places like the Gaddis will go to the wall. I left early and booked into another Hotel.
Gaddis Hotel in LUxor
We satyed for two nights on Nov. 8th and 9th. Good breakfast. Shower was a biy sub-standard. The security latch broke off easily when I just pulled open the door without realizing that the latch was on. I heard something fall down but noticed that the chain was broken. If the chain can break that easily, I wonder what kind of security the guests will have. Please get stronger chains installed so that people are secure.
great place to stay in luxor
My wife and I stayed here for 4 days and loved it. Good location, great restaurant, very helpful staff. We will definately stay there again. :-) :-)
We enjoyed this pleasant hotel
Staff were helpful in this clean, affordable, well-managed hotel. We wish it was a little nearer the main sites and a bit less isolated.
Good price and good service. Needs a bit refresh but if you can live with it then it is perfect.
Für 3 Sterne absolut ok.
Eine Tolle Zeit. Das Personal gibt alles.
Gaddis Hotel Luxor
Cosy and clean rooms, very nice polite and helpful stuff. Poolside is not so big but otherwise ok. Location good, can easily walk to the centre. I recommend to everyone, also to families.
hotel Gaddis a Louxor
Ihan OK
Hinta /l aatusuhde kohdallaan n parikymppiä / yö tarjouksesta . hintaan sisältyi aamiainen ja 2h huone parvekkeella. Ei luksusta etsivälle, mutta budjettimatkaajalle kyllä!
Très bon hotel
+ - Un hotel bien équipé - Très bien entretenue - Une équipe à l'écoute et disponible - Quartier relativement calme - Commerces à proximité (restaurants,alimentation, pharmacie, banque... à - de 50m !) A RECOMMANDER VIVEMENT +/- - Situé sur la EAST Bank - - Aucun
Bon hotel rapport qualite prix

Great service
Everything was ok except it was so noisy from the hotel cross from us and honking sound from outside which we should have asked to change the room. Breakfat was great.
