Would stay there again

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would not recommend their breakfast but lunch was quite good. Older building but it is up kept. Lounge can be a little loud but if you get a room far from it it’s not too bad

We stayed here on 2 different occasions. The rooms were clean. The second room had some minor cosmetic issues that did not affect our stay. Food was good. Breakfast vouchers for restaurant which was nice.

The property is aged. It has been enjoyed. The rooms are old and beds soft BUT clean.

The hotel staff were phenomenally friendly, the beds were excellent and i slept past the alarm.

Our room was clean, staff friendly and helpful. We tried to reach the front desk before arriving and could not reach anyone. We tried over 2 days and finally someone from the Bistro answered. We would suggest that perhaps they could reroute calls when no one is at the front desk. Parking lot needs some work watch out for pot hole when entering property. No real complaints about our stay.

This property is old. They have tried to do some renovations, but it still smelled badly. The water coming out of the tap smells like sulphur. We didn't eat in their restaurant. It looked dark, like an old club. This is located outside of town.

It is like a little hidden treasure, still using real keys, not key cards. Love it! Great stay!

Walked into room and people already in there. No reception staff working. Rang bell but no one came. Had to track down restaurant staff at check in and check out and to get alternate room. Could get receipt because computer/printer not working. Bathroom door knob didn’t work. Tiny TV. Pillows all so thick. Dead wasp corner mattress. Bedding didn’t smell clean. Ceiling tiles stained water damage. Smell of pot in hall. Loud music from bar woke me up.

The hotel was older but the room was very clean and the staff welcoming and pleasant.

The WIFI was not working so we had to look for somewhere else to dine with a WIFI. As this property is on the outskirts of town we had to travel farther than we would have liked to access what we needed. Otherwise the room was clean and good.

Upon arriving the lobby was poorly attended to and a member of the lounge staff came to help. There’s no service bell or indication of who to speak to for service. The rooms are very dated and bathroom lacks much room by the sink to put anything. The toilet bowl was stained since it hadn’t been cleaned. The wifi was extremely hit and miss. With full signal I was often unable to connect (just wouldn’t accept password, or wouldn’t connect period, despite full bars.). When trying to complain the front desk l, once I finally found the lady hiding out in a separate office, she couldn’t understand a word of English. The following morning I discovered baby silverfish all over the bathroom sink and wall. That’s when I made the decision to check out and go over to the days inn (which appears to be much more professionally run, as a hotel instead of hotel/restaurant/lounge/nightclub. Again had to track down the lady who was not at the front desk post. Glad I switched when I had. I have no idea how the rating is as high as it is. Makes me wonder…

This was a solid 3 star hotel and it didn't leave much for me to be impressed with. I'll go through pros and cons. Pros: Easy check in and check out, fast service for breakfast and dinner, clean rooms, no cigarette smell in the rooms or hall. Cons: staff weren't very friendly towards us. I did have 1 brief but pleasant interaction with one of the staff member but that was 1 out of at least 6 different interactions. No room service available. Yes, you can order breakfast from your room, but you're responsible to pick it up from the restaurant and take it to your room yourself, and they also can't charge it to the room, so you have to pay on the spot. Also worth mentioning that the staff didn't tell me this which resulted in me having to do several trips back and forth from the room to the restaurant in order for me to get my food. If you leave your room to attend the bar in the evening, you get locked out of the hotel area, which is understandable for safety reasons, but signs indicate a staff member can help provide you access to get back through the hallway. However, we had to ask at least 3 different staff before we found one who was willing to help us. They kept telling us to go outside and enter from the outside, but we didn't feel safe doing so with the bar crowd. The bass from the nightclub also woke us up, even though our room was quite far down the 'hotel' area. I left feeling overall disappointed with the hotel and staff.

Everything is right there

This is a nice property, a little off the beaten path but its location worked for me. The on-site restaurant, bar, VLTs and beer store made it so once I checked in I didn't have to go anywhere.

It was out off the way and an amazing find. Staff was excellent, also forgot my jacket there and they called us right away and we headed back. Find that amazing. Would recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately the Frantz Inn seems like it my not have it's heart into doing the hotelier thing, it's still primarily watering hole / bistro / nightclub that has a side-hustle motel. Thumping music until 2 am, and inevitbly someone gets sick near a vehicle in the parking lot, thankfully not in the vehicle a la Caddyshack. Very reminiscent of 80s/90s motels, with the physical door key like you had as a kid and the musty smell of a cottage. Bar staff were GREAT and SUPER Helpful, but the Inn side of things seems to be this other responsability they have to do, not really a primary concern, which probably shouldn't be the case for and Expedia listed location, especially one that was so highly rated.

Very basic rooms but clean. Happened to be there on a Friday night so it was noisy until 2:30 a.m. people drinking and smoking outside our window. I think they need an area away from the rooms for smoking.

We stayed one night while travelling through so we were not looking for a lot of amenities. The room was clean and comfortable and we ate at the attached bistro. Breakfast the next morning was included and it was served in the attached restaurant and it was very good. Our only complaint was a security alarm went off around 1;30 am and it took about half an hour for it to be silenced so we did not have a night of uninterrupted sleep.

Our stay was unscheduled and a last minute decision. We got away from Winnipeg later than planned. It appeared there would possibly be some bad weather ahead on our trip home not to mention night driving so in the interest of safety decided to stay the night at the Frantz Inn. It turned out to be one of the better decisions we made on our trip. The friendly greeting by the receptionist was wonderful. We were treated very well. The room was comfortable and clean and well appointed with fridge, microwave, tv, full bath and two queen sized beds. We enjoyed breakfast in the Edge restaurant staffed with very attentive servers who even contributed to our getting directions for the shortest return to the Trans Canada Highway to get back on our trip home. An added bonus was a $16 coupon to apply to our breakfast tab. We highly recommend this motel to travellers seeking a memorable stay on their way to or from Manitoba from Ontario.

I booked Frantz Inn through Expedia, when we got there, a lady working on front desk told us the room we booked had not been cleaned up yet after the previous customer left. We had to look for other place. It was about 9pm at Steinbach, a place we never been there before. We drove around and around, we found a Days Inn for that night. We were very disappointed at such experience, hence gave a poor review. For some questions I even don’t know how to answer, e.g. cleanness because I didn’t have chance to stay there.

One end of the building has a large bar and beer vendor. This attracts a certain crowd that my wife and I are not comfortable with. There was some loud screeming and fowl language at 1:00 in the morning but it didn't last. The building is older but they seem to be maintaining it to an acceptable standard. The staff and restaurant made a very good breakfast

Property was fine. Food was sub par. Check in was going ok until another staff member who was very aggressive in demanding I wear a mask and provide my medical doctors note, I declined and begrudgingly wore the mask. Then at dinner the said employee was walking around talking on their phone with no mask! I think I will steer clear of this establishment.

Went to check in and staff were not attentive. Rooms were not clean therefore could not honour confirmation. Too bad so sad attitude. Luckily was able to get a room close by. This hotel had the same problem with rooms not clean so the MANAGER CLEANED THE ROOMS! That is customer service! Staff at the Frantz Inn was more concerned with the party going on in the bar!

There was no one at the front desk when we checked in. We went to the restaurant to find someone. The person in charge said, "I see you, I'll be there later.". We waited around 20 minutes before he arrived. No apologies or at least good manners. Asking for the service makes us feel like something is wrong with us.

The service was excellent but the rooms and carpets are old. The eater had an iron smell to it and it was slightly yellow. Our heater was quite noisy as well. We did find it very clean which was one of the most important factors with the corona virus spreading.

The hotel is older and located on the edge of the city. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and quiet as I requested a room far away from the lounge and lobby. This hotel is not located near any shopping or within easy walking distance of the downtown area or the mall. The attached restaurant is very good.
