Not pedestrian friendly.
This is a neat, clean and friendly hotel. It is a short walk to train and bus stops, and is close to the Vatican. It is recommended.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean and modern
Very nice and we’d be delighted to return
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely Hotel. Location was perfect for visiting the Vatican. The rooftop restaurant food was delicious and the view spectacular. The rooms were very clean and quaint, I especially liked the balcony view from our room too!
Great hotel in the heart of Rome
Two MAJOR problems. My WiFI would NOT connect in my room even after the staff typed in the password so I had to use WiFi downstairs to do work on the internet! Second problem was NO TV signal. I notified staff and was informed that a specialist would have to be called in to fix signal which did not help me any as I was here for 3 nights and never did have working TV! For the priexpected!
Xcellent
The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and neat. Breakfast very excellent. Thank you
Convenient location, with walking distance to various restaurants, cafes, grocery store, pharmacy etc. Cleanliness needs improvement. A dirty towel was lying on the ground in the public staircase early in the morning, and it was still there when we returned late in the afternoon. We also did not get room cleaning and the towels we left on the floor were not replaced. We were asked around 2:00 pm if we wanted room cleaning. When we said yes, they said actually that's not possible because the cleaning staff are almost done their shift.
Loved it! Third time staying at this property and each time is awesome ! Staff and location are perfect, breakfast is good as well and they are always happy to help. The property also has a luggage storage if you are flying late and the distance to the Vatican is only minutes walk !! If you want to stay close to the Vatican this is your best choice !
Great location! Close to Trains,Metro and walking to everything ( you walk a lot ) so 20 min walk to metro is easy. Breakfast was great! Staff was so helpful and did a great job. I would stay again
Walking distance to Vatican, on-site parking, great dining options nearby.
While in a residential area, the hotel was well cared for, convenient to the Vatican area, and staff were very helpful.
Brilliant staff - very friendly and helpful! Lovely breakfast with a great view.
Wonderful ♥️♥️♥️
Staffs are very nice
Quite place!
The staff was super nice and helpful. My stay was just great at Fragrance
Close to Vatican City, friendly staff, cute clean rooms.
The staff where lovely and the place kept very clean. However the walls are paper thin you can hear everyone in every room . I was even woken up by sex noises. The rooms where uncomfortably small i stayed for 3 weeks then moved to a bigger hotel. Closer to St Peters and half the price. I think if the price was halfed it would of been a good choice but for what they charge it isnt worth it and you cam get far far better for less money
N8ce hotel , clean , but annoyed they had canclled booking for the weekend without.contacting me , so could only offer 2.of the 3 night stay so no point unpacking or getting confortable coz we had to move, breakfast is miserable, no dining or bar , close to vatican city so good to see that area rome is so big and spread out so i imagine all hotels are far away from.something , so bring walkimg shoes or use transport ,
great experience
great place , friendly staff, extra clean
I made a mistake to stay in the basement where no light cane in . We overslept and loose track of time of how dark it was , specially with the jet lag coming from California . We had to start setting alarmas after our second night . Also I had hives all over my back , arms and hands which was very weird because my husband didn’t had any . Although we saw a bug in the room behind the chairs . Staff was very friendly .
Well located, safe and quiet place. The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, recommended for family with children, close to the train, bus and metro station
Good value for money
Good hotel and Good service. Next to the station Roma S.Pietro. Near the Vatican. Breakfast should be better, but this is Covid-19 situation now...
Scammed by hotels.com
I wish I could have stayed at hotel but due to extenuating events: a pandemic, I was unable to make trip. I purchased non-refundable reservation in December 2019 before anyone knew that we would be facing a global pandemic. Hotels.com has not been forthright in dealing with me to give me a refund. They claim to call hotel but no one answers when they call. When I call hotels, they do answer. My flight from California to Italy was canceled. European Union does not allow US citizens to enter country so unless a paddle my way from California to Italy and enter illegally there was no way I could make it to hotel. Hotels.com is being very deceptive in their effort to deal with customers in my situation. I suppose a call to Better Business Bureau and reaching out to California State Attorney General is what I will have to do. Never again will I have anything to do with hotels. Com!
Sad.
Check in was fast and Clerk was knowledgable as well as friendly.
Staff are friendly and accomodating. The property is clean close to everything
the hotel was so convinient to go to St.Peter Basilica
Excellent location
Excellent location of the hotel - 10mins by walk from the Vatican and 20mins from Rome city center. The hotel room was half way under the ground which was not mentioned during the booking so was a bad surprise, but overall the stay in the hotel was pleasant. There is no lobby bar or restaurant in function yet.
I was allowed to check in early, which was great since my flight was overnight and I was exhausted. It’s a very nice hotel. Kind of a strange place for a hotel. The neighborhood is mostly residential and it’s hard to find. The area at first glance looks almost dangerous, but quite the opposite. It was a very nice location. A short walk to St. Peter’s Square. The inside of the hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly. Although I couldn’t get one of the desk staff to understand that the A/C didn’t work in my room. He finally gave up and told me to open the window. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.
It 's a cute boutique hotel with very good customer service. The staff was very helpful and caring. They served a good breakfast in the morning.
We have stay for two nights and everything was over our expectations, friendly Staff beautiful place
The staff were amazing! Very friendly and accomodating. We arrived in the hotel before the check in time and the room was ready. We didn't have to wait at all.
Hotel was very clean, room are spacious, very good size rooms. Staff friendly. The major issue with this hotel have very thin walls, you can literally hear everything. Horrible nights of sleep we could hear people next room having shower, using toilet and much more. So that was a big people because was impossible to have a good night sleep. This is a reason that we will not stay there again
I didn’t like the bed. The rest was fine. Rome is amazing. The hotel is closed to the metro and the Vatican City. I’ll be back if they change the bed haha.
Lovely location, lovely staff and lovely room, can't say anything more
They serve a nice breakfast and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The bath was a death trap. Very deep and slippery with nothing to hold on to. Not good for seniors
Like: walking distance to St Peter's Square, helpful staff, very good pastries/bread at breakfast Disliked: noise, very small room with little space to move,
Spacious room, good breakfast, polite staff. Although the location is kind of difficult to find and the entrance is not obvious, it is near the basilica in a walking distance.
Very pleased
Was very pleased with our stay. Rooms were large and clean. Staff were very friendly and hospitable. Location close to everything. Would stay there again next time we visit. Highly recommend.
Great location Large room for European standards Convenient continental breakfast
What a fantastic place to stay in Rome. Our room was gorgeous. Modern, clean and with its own balcony (unexpected!) with a view of St Peter's Basilica. We paid extra for breakfast (8euros) which was perfectly adequate. Gorgeous kind lady serving breakfast every morning and Lorenzo at reception was super courteous and helpful. First day we walked everywhere from the hotel (15 mins to the Vatican - amazing) and the following day we caught the bus to the Colosseum (1.50 euros) from main road outside hotel. Lovely simple restaurant 5 mins from the hotel. Very reasonable, full of Italians and excellent food. We will be back to stay here for sure.
Although the room and the environment is clean and tidy but the Internet in our room number 423 was in fact very bad. We reported but nothing was done.
Very clean, helpful staff, good to recommend. Convenient yo visit Vatican
Fragrance Hotel St. Peter
The hotel was clean and the staff was inconsistent. There was one person, she was great and went above and beyond. The location was not what I had expected.
LOVE THIS HOTEL! READ FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
First off, i do not write reviews, but this place is WONDERFUL. i cannot say enough about it. This is the one hotel that i would have gladly stayed at longer. You feel at home here, the rooms are spacious, you do not feel like you are in a time capsule. i think one of my favourite things about this place is their terrace. It is at the back of the hotel and welcoming, my husband and i enjoyed meeting many other guests sitting back here. The breakfast is amazing, the views from the terrace at the top where breakfast is, WOW.. it is exactly what you see in the photos. Out of all the hotels we stayed in italy while travelling, this was the best, if you need a snack they have an area with drinks and food for a cheap price. The best thing was that there is a microwave at the main floor to warm up your left overs. The room was great, shower was wonderful, and the full window that opens up you truly experience the area that you are in. Stay here, trust me. It really is a hidden gem, the morning receptionist called a taxi for us whenever we asked for one and it came within 4 minutes, other hotels would tell you that they cannot get in touch with one, or it is too busy to do so. t
Noisy
Mostly the property had all that was needed for a comfortable stay including location, but out of our whole European stay I did not find a noisier accomodation. Every neighbouring room I could hear everything(even toilet flushing) every door shut with a massive bank which continued into late every night and started early in the morning. When I complained to staff, no solution was offered they just shrugged their shoulders. I also booked a 3 person room hoping to get 2 seperate beds at the least as I was with my mum and did not want to share a double bed. the room had a double bed and then another single bed which looked like a childs bed. My mother is luckily shorter than me. For the price I paid I would not recommend staying here. Otherwise everything else including location was satisfactory.
Hotel staff were polite and helpful. The room was regularly cleaned and nicely decorated, including a safe, mini fridge, Tv & aircon. Bed was very comfortable with additional cover if needed. Bathroom was clean, good size, modern with hair drier and clean towels. Hall ways were clean but carpet was starting to get a little worn in places. The room had tea and coffee but no milk, so we bought a small bottle and just kept it in the fridge. No mirror in the room only in the bathroom and we had a loud drone noise in the night that occasionally kept me awake. I thought it was our air con but when I turned that off it was still going, we were on the 4th floor so not sure if it was something up on the roof? Other than that I would recommend this hotel and I would return. but be wary of prices as it varies dramatically depending on how soon you book. Breakfast was excellent! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was pretty spacious. It’s a bit tucked away and was hard for our first taxi driver to recognize as a hotel, but it’s a convenient walk to St Peter’s.
Modern hotel
Amazing four days at this hotel. Spotless clean modern rooms. Lovely roof top breakfast area overlooking the vatican roof.. Only negative is no English channels on TV. Would recommend this hotel.
Front desk valentina she is an excellent customer service person. help us a lot
The breakfast was really awesome. Staff was friendly. Close to train and bus station.
Friendly staff. The rooms are clean. For improvement, the management should consider putting bathroom bars in bathtub, bathroom mat to avoid slipping and should also provide adaptora with flat
The location was good for the Vatican but too far out to get anywhere else without lots of walking.
I loved this hotel, the staff was amazing, and the location its very good.
Staff was very helpful. Overall very nice stay for my first time in Rome. Showers were very small, some fixtures needed repairs but nothing major. The staff would be the reason for my return.
Clean and modern with pleasant staff and a decent breakfast
The location is close to everything but the rooms are dirty shower is way to small for the size of the bathroom breakfast was ok
The staff was very attentive, they spoke English very well and were willing to spend time explaining how to use public transportation in Rome
Great property, friendly staff, great location and easy on street parking. Great view for breakfast too, would definitely stay here again!
Room was clean, beautiful & comfortable. Bathroom was clean & beautiful! Upper deck where we had breakfast had a beautiful view. Lastly, customer service was excellent!! Very satisfied with this hotel!
Roof top breakfast place overlooking Vatican
Family room for 4 people is spacious. Located in a quiet street near Vatican. 5 min walk from train station St Pietro. Can avoid the busy crowd at main train station. Direct train to cruise port Civitavecchia.
Great hotel. Very close to Vatican, and accessible to public transportation. Room was great, my family thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
Nice outdoor area behind reception, great breakfast area with a view, helpful staff, great location-walking distance to buses, vatican city and trains. Room was comfortable, large and clean
the room was clean and spacious, located in a quiet neighbourhood.
I enjoyed the sitting area outside off the main lobby. Our room was a nice size for three people. The bathroom was very large but the shower was very disappointing for a bathroom of this size. The shower was barely big enough for my 7 year old. We had a little ac during the day but none during the night. We spoke to the front desk staff twice regarding the issue but nothing changed. The staff pretended they didn’t understand English.
Location was combining a little scachy but not to bad!!
Great location, staff was helpful and professional, the room spacious, clean and comfortable. Definitely I will recommend this hotel
About a 5 minute walk from the Vatican. Very safe! Quiet area! To get to main tourist attractions such as Trevi Fountain- Spanish Steps, etc, the best option is to purchase one of those Hop on Hop off bus passes! Not only do you get a history lesson, but it’s the easiest way to see all attractions:) I paid $34euro for a day pass which is a bargain! Hotel staff was fantastic! Rooms were clean! Bathroom shower- large and worked properly! Breakfast in the morning was decent:) Overall, fantastic hotel! If I return to Rome- better believe I’m staying here again:)
Beautiful hotel off the beaten path. It's set between apartment buildings. Limited food choices in close walking distance. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
10 minutes drive to The Vatican.... the first day I even went on foot... it is really walking distance, but I prefer to take a Taxi.... taxi fare is between 8 to 25 Euros depends on time of the day.
We liked the cleanliness. There was one night stand next to bed and shampoo and conditioner weren't enough.
A bit far from the city center that required either subway access or bus access. The hotel was clean though and really liked the area for eating breakfast.
Great hotel, very clean close to the Vaticano , people was so nice the breakfast was good and the prince is very affordable
Great hotel to stay. The location of this hotel was perfect close to the Vatican City and restaurants. We really enjoyed Spacious room & clean. A wonderful rooftop breakfast buffet was excellent. No ironing boards!
All in all a very nice hotel 🏨. 15 minutes to the Vatican. All staff are very helpful. But they had no bar, you could buy cold drinks from there fridge, or bring drinks 🍷 back inside. In my room, the shower 🚿 was to small for me. I spoke to other guests, and there showers 🚿 were okay. But I managed. Anyway I would recommend this hotel 🏨.
Nothing remarkable, but a good hotel. Àaaaaaàaaaaaaaaaaaaa
The Staff was the best. They went out of their way to help us. We had one lost piece of luggage and they followed up with the airlines for us and it took that unnecessary burden off of us. This way we could enjoy our time in Rome. The hotel had one of the best showers in the whole city of Rome, large, hot and great pressure. When I return to Rome I will return to the Fragrance Hotel
Air conditioning
Air conditioning Blew hot air all night later found out it should not have been turned on at all, Very sickely. Asked for late check out as we could not sleep with the heat in the room. I was told that the air conditioning was not turned on as it was cold there(21 degrees during the day) i advised the receptionist to maybe inform guest especially travelling from a cold country of this. Breakfast very basic i wouldnt pay the extra and go to the bakery close by. Its in a great location.
Clean and Comfortable
Central location and easy to navigate to many key attractions in Rome. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Rooms are a bit small, but you're in Rome, be in Rome and not the hotel! :) Great complimentary breakfast.
This is a very cute quaint hotel very close to vatican city. Very close to public transportation and close to many restaurants. I walked the streets after 11pm and i felt safe. Breakfast was adequate but whatever i desired was within walking distance. I really enjoyed myself and staff was very helpful
Everything was good, staff and all tge services. Very cleand and good breakfast
It's only 10 mins walk to the Vatican, super market further down the hill. Very comfy bed, breakfast superb, staff great, especially Olga in the breakfast room. Our economy room,112 we found a little noisy being close to the reception. tea/coffee facility in room. Shower always seems to flood the floor, very shallow shower base. Reception staff great. Breakfast on top floor with great views, especially of the Basilica. You can also book trips at the reception and a private transfer to the airport. Overall i would book this hotel again
The front desk staff were so helpful. They arranged any tour we wanted to go on and transportation. The breakfast was perfect each morning.
Loved the location of this property - close to the San Pietro train station, the Vatican museums and definitely within walking distance of the Coloseum. Property was clean, Staff very efficient and friendly, and a great continental breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
Location was key. Good value for $. Very nice breakfast. Some noise through thin walls.
The room was huge, recently renovated and had a view of St. Peter’s. However, you could hear the guests above and next to you. When in the bathroom, you could actually hear conversations of people in the bathroom next door.
Breakfast terrace very beautiful, cosí patio, clean and fresh. Didn’t like the smell in my bathroom, coming from pipes, but bathroom clean. Too small bedrooms.
Hotel was clean bedding and towels changed daily didn’t really need anything from hotel
Positives - on entry it was clear to see Communal areas were well maintained and beautiful View from breakfast terrace. Negatives - Mould around bath tub, leak water and damp marks on the ceiling, dirty glasses in bedroom reported to staff reception on several occasions and nothing was done. Staff were very unhelpful and did not attempt to resolve after asking very politely several times. Wet hotel floor entrance with no wet floor sign also resulted in a remember of the party having a fall resulting in injury to the head. Hotel could be more courteous and vested in health and safety of their guests by issuing warning signs of wet floors
View from breakfast terrace was magnificent. Vatican is convenient walking distance from hotel.
We loved staying here- as it was walking distance to the Vatican and had great dining options around this little neighborhood!
Overall, it was a great experience. Excellent customer service.
Close to Vatican
The hotel is located in an odd spot that can be difficult to find. It is nestled in between two residential properties and is tucked back from the road. The area is definitely residential and non-touristy. It is easy walking distance to the Vatican and the S. Pietro train station. There are many local eateries and a grocery store also very close by which is nice. The room was larger than I expected and very clean. I think the major drawbacks to this property is that if you sleep with the window open there is a loud humming from what sounds like a large air conditioner all night long and the beds were much firmer than I like (but that's a personal preference). Other than those two things, the staff were friendly and it was a good stay.
It was great, really good and friendly place close to all that you need to see and more.
If you walk or use public transportation, this hotel is not too convenient. If you use Taxi or Uber it is fine
Great location, very easy access to public transport. Nice roof terrace & helpful staff.
This is nice hotel. It is very close to Vatican City, so it was a great location for plans to go there and other sites close to Vatican City. It is a bit of a walk to go places, but a train station and bus stops are close. It isn’t in the heart of Rome, so you may miss out on that feel if you stay here your entire trip. We stayed half our week at this hotel and half in the middle of Rome. The staff were wonderful, the room was very nice. The kids raved about the WiFi. It was better than our WiFi at home.

This outstanding hotel has only 1 problem. It was so perfect that it ruined me for other hotels on my trip. I loved my stay at this hotel.
