Everything was great except the valet parking it was not included and $50 a night seems a little extreme.
Mid leading regarding Breakfast I almost pay with our food. Also the parking lot I paid $50.00 a nite? Did mention instructions for parking.
Super nice
Easy access to main hway. Walking distance to little Italy area. Great eateries and near Gaslamp area for more eateries and shopping. Really a great location.
$50 for night parking…. No way
It didnt have hot water and couldn't get ahold of front office at the time
Great bay view and staff
I didn’t like how the room did not had any microwave. The room was clean and nice. There is no parking so you have to get valet parking which is $50 per night.
Rooms weren’t accessible and did not fit our needs for wheelchairs
We booked a Sheraton property, but we arrived and were told that they are no longer a Sheraton property, but a BW Premier property named The Dextro. The "soundproofed" room was extremely loud, modern yet excessively worn. Our booking was supposed to include breakfast and parking. However, parking was valet-only at $50 a day. The Continental breakfast was charged at $15/per person. Not happy with this booking whatsoever.
We were there for a week and I noticed that things are needing fixed
Need more towels and more lighting in the bathroom, also spoons or some sticks to stir coffee, and more coffee, there was no bottle water. Other than that, the bed and pillows like clouds on heaven.
Could’ve Been Worse, I guess.
OK stay. Would not stay here again. The description says that parking is available, but what they neglect to tell you until after you get there and check in is that the only parking they offer is valet parking at $50/night so I ended up paying as there wasn’t any free parking available by the time I got there. They also won’t tell you this until you ask, but there’s free street parking on 2nd Ave/Cedar that’s almost always full no matter what time of the day it is. I’m extremely upset about this and wish I could get that $50 back. Pretty inconvenient. Bums on the sidewalks. Can’t speak for all the rooms but mine had a very dirty towel wedged in between the wall and heater/AC unit that room service never noticed. Random stains on the walls that didn’t look pleasant. Toilets aren’t the best at flushing. The best thing I could say is that the staff is friendly.
The shower didn’t work, no water pressure in sink and burnt out light bulbs in room.
Old TV system, no laundry
i am super disappointed with my stay here. When booking our room, it mentioned nothing about paying $50 a day for valet, two days that’s an extra $100. If i would have known that i would have spent the extra money to stay at a more cleanliness hotel with an efficient elevator that didn’t take 10 mins each time. Being that we booked on the holiday, i felt that took advantage of the parking situation. I’d give it 0 starts if i could.
Cynthia was the best host at breakfast
Nice hotel - didn’t like that Expedia didn’t say there’s a mandatory $50/day valet car parking on top of hotel rate. Nowhere else to park. Other than that, staff was friendly and hotel was clean and worth the $150/night.
Good value
Perfect location to walk to Little Italy, clean room and great for a 1-night stay.
Good
The property is very nice. The rooms were very clean as well. The property only has continental breakfast AND you have to pay for it. Walking is good, but there is quite a bit of unhoused individuals in the surrounding area.
Nice fforts to improve property. Rooms well renovated and lobby area "in progress".
Excellent location
Excellent location that allowed us to walk to Balboa Park and Little Italy (30-45 min) so we could skip renting a car. Very decent, clean, comfortable, good value for San Diego. Enjoyed our Bay view. Only thing was the immediate surrounding neighborhood is next to freeway, with gritty feel (e.g., unhoused persons), so advise being alert when you walk. Would stay here again.
Nothing went wrong just the no parking was an issue
We liked the property. It was a comfortable stay on a budget.
Watch out when you book here they will charge a lot of hidden fees, they don’t have free parking like the app says and they will charge you 50 dollars daily for valet
I loved the mirror in the bathroom, did a ton of photos and videos in the amazing lighting. We were on the 15th floor and the noise from the freeway was still loud. We had a great view of the unhomed. The in house bar was not great but expensive, but the late night kitchen was good but limited, excellent fries. The staff was very very kind and friendly. The structure of the hotel is cool, it is a circular design. The bed was too high, not great for elder guest and not comfortable, we got like 6 pillows and they were all to soft.
Saying goodbye
Last weekend being married! Closure was complete. View was amazing!
I love the location but charging $150 for parking is ridiculous. I’m going to look for other hotel options next time I go to San Diego.
3 stars bc one elevator was working and i think $50 is a bit extreme to charge for valet.
Nice room
.
The breakfast is nice. No laundry facilities.
It was fantastic
The parking situation was not mentioned during the booking process. For 3 nights the charges before taxes were $150. The breakfast situation was also not mentioned during booking. On arrival I found out that breakfast was not included with the room charges.
We had a great view and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. I’m going to go home and buy myself a topper like these. It’s too comfortable.
A give 80/100
Was good the only a don’t like the ask for deposit 150 was mor the deposit the a was paid for my room
On my 10th anniversary (on our 3 day of the stay) we had a terrible experience, We saw many cockroaches in the room and we immediately informed the front desk , they said since u might have travelled from different city or country , u might have got along with the luggage, Not happy with the Manager but then they helped in changing room but no complimentary things were offered. Manager there told we cant refund of get u anything complimentary and this is what it is .i would not recommend anyone.
never stay here. poor room service
No parking no hot water no continental breakfast included room ok
Nothing to underline
Nice place HOWEVER, the the there is no hot water in the sinks or shower in the room, and the smoke detector battery is low and chirping. *I feel that you should alert potential patrons of this establishment that there is only one parking option on property, and the cost is $50! Was informed that I could park on the street, around the corner, however Downtown San Diego is a homeless hellhole, and one parks on the street at their own peril!
We loved the hotel. Would stay there again.
Initially was given a room with queen beds, even though we had booked a king. The desk agent tried to claim moving to the queen was an upgrade because it has a better view. I asked for and received what I had booked. The room was decent, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, of the two elevators installed one had been broken for over a month before we got there & was still broken with no one actively trying to fix it. This is a significant time-waster as well as a concern. If the remaining elevator had a breakdown then the stairs were the only option. Oh, and we were on the 15th floor...that would have been a crap climb at the end of the day if we had to take the stairs. Also, they were repainting the parking area in front of the hotel. No worries, they say, just pay $50/night for "valet" parking in the garage...oh the room was originally $99/night after taxes. That's a massive cost increase we weren't expecting. I would expect that in a show of consideration that they were taking away available parking they would provide a better rate to park in the garage. Even $20/night would be stiff but not absurd. $50/night is just absurd. Overall, would I stay here again: No. The elevator being broken for more than a month tells me what the management considers important, especially for safety. The parking situation tells me what they think about me as a customer.
No parking
Horrible customer service. And charged $50 for valet parking, then they called my room to tell them to bring my key and when I said I have it to them. They couldn’t find it. Then I also got charged $350 with a charge of $150 deposit. That is no where in my receipt nor was I told. I will not be coming back
Friendly
Yuck
Check in was ok. Staff is not rude but not welcoming. Parking lot updating was happening. Parking here is additional 50.00 per day (not listed anywhere) Rooms were meh Things did not feel fresh clean Bathrooms were mediocre clean We wiped down with Clorox wipes Bathroom lighting is horrendous We paid for what we got Can’t believe agarraron has their name on it This was worth 49.99 per night
The property is located close to the airport and I never heard the airplanes although could be the room location I had. Property only has valet which I researched beforehand so wasn’t a big deal. Overall 9/10.
Good service and clean room
$50 for parking and $15 for breakfast but nowhere to set down the soap in the shower is diabolical. At least I got to hear my neighbors super interesting conversations through the walls and there was a fun creepy rope was swinging in front of my window. Got to really *be in the moment* waiting for the single elevator for forever. They forgot to restock coffee filters in my room so I got to enjoy the lukewarm and nearly empty coffee in the lobby instead. Staff was super nice though, pay them more and charge us less.
Please sweep and mop floors always
Great
Great property
The staff is amazing!
Parking $50 per night
The bay view is excellent!
Horrible Service
Only one elevator was working, took 20 minutes to get to the floor and staff was nonchalant about it. Made me feel like I did a horrible choice staying there …
The property was under construction maybe, and they made us pay $50 per night for valet parking because of the construction. Only one elevator works so makes everything take long. It was a decent property but they can do better
Property is under renovation or repairs so a bit noisy during the day. The elevators are very slow probably due to construction. The hot water temp was only Luke warm. However the price for the night was really reasonable for Downtown San Diego.
Won’t stay again.
There was not any hot water in our room or our family members room. The beds were terrible and worn out. The pillows were lumpy. Wouldn’t stay there again.
Had breakfast every morning. I paid by credit card after my meal but they still charged my room . So i paid double. Dirty In a dodgy area
The water in the shower didn’t drain properly.
The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The highway was right next-door with homeless people all over.
Ac is loud, room was dusty, smell of previous guest.
Pros: affordable, close proximity to restaurants, friendly staff Cons: dirty (ran water through coffee machine and water came out murky with debris; floors were dirty; didn’t smell clean), lighting (no ceiling lights, only dim table lamps), thin walls (can hear even small sounds from next door)
The cleaning lady was rude and arrived until 5 pm. There was only one elevator working, which was insane.
Its close to little Italy and there’s a lot to see and a lot of restaurants
Was not aware of limited parking option
Good
The view was beautiful. Only one elevator working, long waits and too many stops and crowded
Good view, excellent staff. Didn't like only one elevator working, many stops and long waits.
William was very kind and helpful.
Close to little italy, food, drinks and best part easy access to the farmers market on Saturdat!
The kind staff
Staff are unprofessional. Their cards don’t work on the doors. I got moved to a different room when the card to my room didn’t work when I arrived and needed my stuff. Breakfast is not free. I don’t understand why it’s paid when there isn’t a lot of food for breakfast. I wasn’t happy with my experience there.
Was very frustrated to find out it was a valet only parking situation. Valet is 55$ a day! Outrageous. Would have booked else where.
This hotel was nice and the beds were so soft. Parking is valet only, which can be a little overwhelming if you’re not used to it. But the valet guys always had my car ready to go every time I needed to leave though. The property is conveniently located to jump on I-5 out of the parking lot. Only con we had was only one elevator was in service so the wait to be able to go up to our room was long wait at times.
Nice and clean
Loved it
Beds were comfty thats all i really wanted but there was only valet parking 50 a night And there was no microwave in room had to go down stairs no wash or dry machines and no free breakfast and elevators took forever but over all staff was great
Close to little Italy, and easy to get to.
They mentioned free breakfast on Expedia but was not free which was not nice One elevator broken, But in term of cleanness was good
The day we checked in only one of the two elevators were working for this 16 floor hotel. Then on check out day the only working elevator was the service elevator and after waiting over 5 mins for the elevator to stop at our floor we ended up having to take the stairs down with all our belongings. Then our water took a while to heat up and didn’t get to hot only lukewarm so the temperature didn’t stay warm that long.
Dirty
I wasn’t able to stay at the hotel after all. I fall down and had to return home. But we liked what we saw in the lobby.
Excellent location, very clean, and professional staff.
Ubicación exelente, el personal del hotel muy amable .
$50 a night for parking… :(
One night stay for work, I would like to come back for personal to enjoy it more.
Big room and good value for the price. Ask for a room facing away from the freeway and away from any renovation work.
Great stay. Easy access to the highway. Clean Friendly staff
Very unsafe area
Little noisy as it’s close to freeway
It is a decent property if you just need to crash in and need a bed and breakfast kind of place, but not if you're looking for relaxing stay. Property seems fairly old. Expect operational hazards like broken elevators, renovations, inadequate shower curtains etc. They seemed understaffed, but the ones who are there are very nice. Special mention for the restaurant lady (don't remember her name). She seemed like the only one serving everyone during breakfast for most time, and was conducting herself in the most patient and caring manner. Location is closer to the downtown, but right next to all high traffic roads. Overall its a decent property but given the brand name can definitely do much better.
Mid
The valet crew was very friendly upon my arrival, unfortunately, that was the high end of my experience. The check in experience was average. The elevator was terrible. Took me about 4 minutes to go up. Room 706 smelled old. The windows were dirty. Bird poop all over the small balcony. The bathtub seemed like it was repainted and it was already missing large parts of paint. The phone had too much static that reception couldn’t understand what I was asking for. At 10:50 am I got knocked on the door for “housekeeping”. Elevator again took 7 minutes to be able to go down. Overall I will give it 2/10 stars. Definitely would not stay there again.
Very average, don’t have high expectations. While on one side you have access to Little Italy and all the lovely restaurants, behind the hotel there are a lot of homeless people. I made the mistake of parking my car/jeep convertible on the bridge behind the hotel where there are quite a few homeless tents and found everything stolen out of my car in the morning.
