The Pokolbin Farm Stay is a peaceful, relaxing retreat and a wonderful alternative to staying at a hotel. It was beautifully set up with everything we needed for a couple of nights; kettle, toaster etc. I would 100% recommend it and can't wait for the next opportunity to stay there.

It was a great relaxing place to stay. Everything we needed to use a base whilst attending a concert and having time away together.

We stayed for two nights while visiting Hunter valley. The location is good, with Brokenwood wines and Roche estate a 5 minute drive away. You can get Ubers but need to wait around 15 minutes for the to arrive. We stayed in the Milk Shed which was great, really well decorated, bathroom was nice, we had good views over a pond with ducks and the vineyards in the background. If you do not like nature this may not be best for you as there are a lot of wild birds gather by the pond, we liked the setting. The only thing to be aware of is that the kitchen does not have an oven so don’t go buying pizzas to cook back at the apartment, otherwise it had everything else, toaster, hob top, microwave, kettle and Nespresso machine. We are glad we stayed here.

Great place to stay.

Property had character and the renovated interior was an exceptional touch although the surrounding plants and grass could do with some tlc. Paddock next to the house also had a brown snake that came up to the car as we were walking in, could possibly do with a mow.

We had 3 adult couples and it was the perfect environment. We really enjoyed our stay!

Very central location. Quiet. Large room. Updated decor and they’re still doing more. Insect screens on windows would be nice so guests can enjoy fresh, country air. Room gets a bit stuffy and air con or fan helps but fresh air is also nice.

The property is in an excellent location and interior styling is beautiful however the mattresses on both beds were terrible.

Centrally located (10 mins from Crowne Plaza Bar & Grill, 7 mins to Hunter Valley Gardens) this 1 bedroom Villa (number 5 - with 2 beds - 1 in main living) is worth a stop. It’s equiped with a microwave, kettle, toasted, kitchenware and a bar fridge with not freezer. The bathroom has a huge shower head and plenty of hot water. There is aircon/heating above the main living bed also with a couch, small table and wall mounted tv. The verandah has an outdoor setting and table perfect for having some time to unwind. The views on the verandah are peaceful and there is room for your child to explore on the grass and watch the kangaroos graze in the paddocks both morning and evening. We found it very kid friendly. Would really have liked to have a coffee pod machine, and an extra warm blanket in the bedroom as the heating doesn’t reach in the bedroom and the toddler was a bit cold during the night. Worth a stay here.

Lovely stay over looking the paddocks. Our second time staying here with our daughter. However this time there weren’t any horses out the front which was a shame. Great place to stay and so close to everything.

Very pleasant stay at Forrest Hills Lodge, we were in the Hunter Valley for a wedding and it was in such a convenient location and very affordable considering other locations seemed to be raising their prices.

Had such a great stay at this property! The outlook was amazing, waking up to a sunrise overlooking the vineyards. Lisa was super helpful and super friendly, the accomodation was everything we needed. I look forward to staying here again.

gorgeous view. Didn’t interact with a single person throughout my stay. Was left to my own devices. Lisa was great at communicating with me regarding my checkin. Loved the whole process. Was in the area for a wedding and this room was definitely much nicer than the hotels others were staying in.

Loved it! Has everything you need (if I was going to whinge, hair conditioner would be great) other than that, it was perfect. So far away, but so close. Transport arrived within minutes and we didn't hear another soul over the whole weekend! Will definitely be back. Thanks guys

Tranquility with views in the country

Peaceful and relaxing stay right in the heart of the Hunter. Walking distance to wineries including Cockfighters, Harkham and a short cycle to Audrey. Our only concerns were the number of mozzies! We got savaged during our stay! Take your insect repellent and mortein! Thank you for a lovely time.

Great location and view and comfy cottages

Easy check in and such a great location with wineries within walking distance. The studio cottages are spacious and have everything you need. The verandah is perfect for evening bbqs and watching the sunset. The 2 horses on the property also come to visit in the evening for a back rub.

Our stay was so amazing! The room was very clean and very spacious. Was very well stock with everything we needed to have an incredible weekend. The location is also fantastic - being close to food and amazing wineries but also quiet and peaceful. The views were also great! On top of all of that, the property manager Lisa was a pleasure to talk to and she was so accommodating and flexible. Highly recommended to stay here. We will be back!

In a word, Disappointing. Having stayed here on multiple occasions under the previous owners this stay was a let down. Previously guests were welcomed with 2 bottles of the estate's wine and a breakfast hamper. The reception was friendly. This stay there was only one sharp non butter knife, the shower head leaked everywhere and didn't stay up, the TV seemed to be in some sort of lock, the towel rail fell off and there was the threat of a penalty cleaning fee to be paid if we left any of the kitchen utensils not put away and "as we found them". Won't be staying there again.

What a Dump. Avoid like COVID-19. No water. couldnt shower or flush toilet. No reply to text or phone message even after 24hrs. Insects everywhere. Booked 2 nights couldnt stay 2nd night. Payed extra to go elsewhere... I guess you get what you pay for...

Helpful and friendly welcome from the office on arrival. Accomodation is simple, clean and practically arranged. The location is perfect-many wineries in walking distance, beautiful view. Great value for money, highly recommended.

Myself and a group of friends (three couples in our late 20s) went down to Forrest Hills Ridge for a long weekend the cabins are really comfortable and warm the beds are so soft! They have everything you will need for having a good bbq in the evenings! But mostly we couldn’t believe how welcome we were made feel by the owners Ross and Lisa, they welcomed us with open arms even throwing a little bomb fire for us on Sunday night, And brought us down some of their amazing wines to taste, all three couples left with at least a box of ‘The Parched Crow’ Shiraz! We really enjoyed their company and the company of Lisa’s parents who also joined for the fire. Ross even brought us to see a calfling heifer in his field, as I was really interested in his farming! We had some great chats and it was so easy and comfortable with them. Absolutely amazing hosts! A little shout out to Lucky Daves tours who brought us out on Saturday for a wine tasting tour and our guide Gary who is a lovely guy! All in all we had the best weekend thanks to Ross and Lisa and we cannot wait to come back!

Great location, close to the wineries. Lisa was excellent in her knowledge of the area and made us most welcome. Her communication was fantastic. Lovely quiet place with a beautiful vineyard view and kangaroos hoping around. Bus picked us up at the property for event and dropped us home. So easy. Very clean, with everything that you would need was supplied. Just needs a little update. Will stay there again.

Communication with Lisa was very open and she was always quick to respond which made organising and arrival to the place easy. We had a delay in arriving to the premises as our car broke down so we only arrived the morning after our expected check-in. Lisa was extremely kind and understanding of our troubles and also gave us an extra nights stay to make up for it which we were very grateful for. Very nice place to stay!

The location was excellent but furnishings and bathroom was quite dated. Television seemed new. We could make our own coffee and tea and could have made a light meal if we wanted. Everything was clean and people very nice and helpful who owned the property. Signage indicated it was a farmstay.

The room smell was lovely and fresh as soon as we walked in - everything very clean and neat. Very happy with our stay :)

Nice room, but the service is not good. A lot of rules, its like visit your grandmother place, a lot of nagging in the room that dont make you feel welcome: if you use something in the kitchen and don’t wash you will bill at $20, there are 2 beds but if you use another one you will be bill another rate... and etc... Under the bed was not clean, I found empty bottle of water.

Amazing location in the middle of hunter valley, surrounded by winneries. The studio is big, very spacious, has a wonderfull bed, fully equiped kitchen and a good bathoom/shower. The surroundings are complely quiet, the views amazing. Kangaroos visit the property throughout the day. Lisa the GM is very friendly and can give you good advice on where to go to. We took our mountainbikes to visit the wineries, there is a seperate bikepath on the surrounding roads, makes it easy and safe to bike.

Really lovely welcome! Such a comfy and cosy place to stay. Right in the centre of everything.

This place was amazing!!!!! The owner was fabulous and communicated with me promptly. We enjoyed the silence and beautiful scenery around the property. We enjoyed bbq dinner and eating outdoors on the patio of our room. It was fun to wake up and see the mini horse Dennis every day. I highly recommend this place. Off the beaten path and a fabulous winery is just next door you can walk to. I would so go back here in a heartbeat.

The beds had so many bed bugs. We woke up with so many bite marks and so much itching.

The woman who ran the property was quite rude and abrupt on the phone. The key was left under the mat for us. The room stunk like sewerage it was so bad I couldn’t stay in the room, unfortunately I couldn’t sit outside as the verandah roof leaked and it was raining. The front door didn’t stay shut unless you used all of your strength to shut it and even then it sometimes blew open. Some of the kitchen doors didn’t stay shut at all. There was a big hole in the brick wall behind the bed that had been plugged with brown paper. There was cockroach poo on the pillow beneath the hole. The air conditioner didn’t work. On the positive it was a beautiful location.

Our welcome was very disappointing walking into a stale hot room, as the aircon was left off on a 45 degree day. And the aircon was an older unit that took about 5 hours to cool the room. The room is dated but reasonably clean. It was nice to have a kitchenette to have wine and cheese in the room. The TV was petite, around 38cm and positioned far away from the bed and couch. Overall the room was ok but I wouldn't advise staying in summer

This property is ideally situated, right in the middle of a winery and close by to all other wineries. The outlook is just beautiful. We only had one small problem with the airconditioning unit, which will be fixed as we mentioned it to the owners of the property. Apart from airconditioning unit fault we had everything we needed. Everything else well maintained and clean. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Wonderful stay in the country side, peace & quiet, air conditioning, comfortable beds, great shower, outdoor setting and cooking. Could not ask for anything else. Lisa was wonderful, advising us on getting the bus to the concert. We will make this at least an annual long week end.

Nice place to stay at and handy to the local wineries. Magnificent local eateries and gourmet shops; not cheap.

Farmstay with a stunning view

We had a 1 bedroom villa which actually has 2 queen beds so perfect for friends or couples travelling together. The villa is cosy with some mod cons and very clean. The view from the patio is what makes this place amazing and so relaxing. In the afternoon you can spot kangaroos and the properties cows and little Shetland pony come visit for a pat. We will definitely return

Large studio with pleasant rural views

One of six units set apart from the farm residence on a slope facing northeast. The kitchen is basic but well equipped and there is a barbecue on the unit patio. Clean and spacious but perhaps a little old fashioned. Owners friendly and helpful without being obtrusive.
