Check in is painful..
Poor customer service!! The front desk are extremely slow at checking you in and make you wait for hours. Very poor service.
Excellent place
Excellent place and very comfortable. Good wi fi. Excellent amenities.
Great place to stay
We had a great stay and will return. There were some mechanic problems with the room which caused some problems and the night shift struggled in taking care of the problem. The day shift were right on it and took care of it immediately. Night shift is not very good with customer service as the day shift. Night shift more neglectful and would tell me they would take care of something but then an hour later nothing.
There was a funky smell around the lobby of the hotel occasionally. Also mosquitoes could be seen in the lobby of the hotel
The problem is Internet. Very poor. Very difficult for work.
World Class Hospitality and Friendliness
It have stayed with the Fleuve Congo hotel on several occasions. It is really a world class venue with all the amenities one would expect of a five star facility.
Everything about this hotel was amazing!
Best hotel in Congo!
I wanted an early check in and it was arranged very quickly. The safety measures due to Covid are excellent!
Best option in Kinshasa
My colleague and i had a great, one-night stay. Nice rooms, cold A/C and a helpful staff. Would definitely return.
Big disappointment since change of ownership 6 months ago. Not any more a 5 stars. Food is not at all at a 5 star range. Will not come back.
Wonderful hotel, delicious food and great location
Kempinski Hotel Fleuve Congo
Used as a base for a buisness trip to DRC. Excellent hotel
Kempinski brand abuse
None of the six bookings made for my colleagues and I was honoured at check in. Even when specific arrangements were made with the reception and booking office for alternate accommodation at a neighbouring hotel, which was paid for in advance, two colleagues were forced to make their own arrangements after midnight. No management involvement or apology. The Kempinski brand is being abused; it's another group that runs the place!
Overall good hotel. The stay was comfortable and they even offered you plenty of water. The breakfast buffet was also good.
Property was okay. Took almost an hour to check in. There was inconsistency in cleaning bathroom. Some days it was okay, and others no effort made with used towels not changed. Staff were not very friendly; one from reception bordered on rude when i wanted to charge my laptop at the guest relations desk. It may be a language impediment but for such a hotel one would expect that client facing staff can communicate in English. Did not meet my expectations
Spend 2 hours checking in. They could not find my reservation.
The property was outstanding, clean and friendly staff;however it took 2 hours for check in as the front desk couldn’t find my reservation. I had to use roaming from my cell to call expedia to resolve the issue.
The stay was amazing and really relaxing and comfortable. The hotel is top notch.
Not so good.
Not my best stay there.
Fleuve Congo review
The room was too dark , the light switches were irritating to turn on and off. No iron in the room. The service at reception is very slow and the restaurant staff very slack. I stayed there because of the brand name and was disappointed. I will not stay again.
Service disappointing but very good hotel!
Very nice hotel, nice area, room was spacious, good facilities in the bathroom. Only disappointing thing was room service was done very late, came back to my room at 4pm and the room was yet to be done, and also bathroom was leaking and it took 2 hours for someone to come. Called for concierge to pick up my luggage, waited 15 mins didn’t arrive and brought it down myself and no sign of any concierge coming up to my room. Good hotel but need to remember service can make someone’s stay a very good experience or take away from the quality of the hotel.
Safe & clean hotel by western standards. Good internet which is unusual in this part of the world (internet compared to regional norms not western). Good gym, good cook to order breakfast and buffet. Dinner... needs mentioning. 2 restaurants one features nightly local and middle eastern buffet, the other Italian but seating is outside. We found extensive room service menu the best bet for dinners. All food here is expensive, prepare to spend $75 for dinner salad, bowl of spaghetti and large Peligrino. About 20% of the staff speaks English all speak French & lingali. Our guys prefer this, greatly to some other local choices such as Kin palace, you might check also the Pullman hotel very nearby if this is sold out.
Morning breakfast, excellent and great gym facilities at the location.
Nice and clean hotel, but poor service.
The hotel is much better now with the new terrace in the restaurant as well as the refurbished Hevea restaurant. Unfortunately the service is still very bad, having to get your own food/drink as nobody bothers to take orders, and the reception staff was inflexible/rude about checkout time. That’s not a Kempinski service and despite the hotel looking better than before, it was quite disappointing on the service aspect.
Nice place with a view on the fleuve. Staff is polite and professional. The Internet connexion is the most and only issue. The management must be more proactive knowing the technology environment.
Nice place and professional staff - Please either explain the how the light button work or make their symbol bigger. My staying was greatly appreciated in all aspects.
The view on the Congo river and the view on Brazzaville.
it was amazing, everything i sperfect, only thing is it should have some indain dishes
Great place to stay, 10/10
Great choice in Kinshasa!
Great for business trip
Business class hotel very comfortable
For a high end hotel I would rate this one as average.
Will be staying again! Kempinski!
This hotel was amazing. As beautiful inside as the pictures depicted. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. The staff was great. I had no complaints about this stay. I hope to visit one of their other locations.
Best hotel in Kin
Great stay here! Located in Gombe, the most secure part of the city. Gym was excellent, restaurants both great selection (expensive, but it's Kin). Stayed at the Pullman last time and I think the rooms here are larger and nicer and the service much better. Hope to return here on my next trip! Also, excellent wifi! FaceTime and Skype calls done without interruption!
Premium Hotel No basic Restaurants no variety
The lack of restaurants and variety just killed the entire trip. You could recite the breakfast menu and get it right without going to the restaurant that how monotonous it is. The Italian restaurant had no variety and the juices could be much better. The Kempinski experience is only felt at the rooms which have great ambiance but that is just all you get. The restaurant refurbishment have perhaps taken a bit too long and it would be ideal for the hotel to provide a stop gap
Expected better from Kempinski
The welcome wasn’t pleasant. Indeed, we were not told about the facilities available to us such as the Privilege Lounge. Our room hadn’t been properly cleaned. I had to call housekeeping to cleanup. Though we’d paid extra for double occupancy amenities were only provided for one. Tea and coffee were provided but no milk, biscuits or coffee. Odd considering this was a suite in a 5* hotel. The desk chair was broken and the TV signal was poor. To get hot water one had to run the taps at full throughput for about 10 minutes. Once this is achieved getting the temperature down is another ordeal. The bedroom was small and the entire suite did not feel at all the claimed 80sqm. The bedroom AC was noisy and ceased working mostly after 0300 which led to me waking up consistently at 0400 in a sweat. I had the AC temperature set to 16 degrees Celsius. One of the most disappointing things was that I posted a similar review on my first day. It was only on day four, when I was checking out though I’d paid a non refundable fee for five days, that a representative from the hotel management sought to speak with me. I understand there is a limitation of choice but one still expects a brand to deliver its promise where one encounters it. This was a great disappointment. I did find three staff that made the stay bearable, Cody (Privilege Lounge), Jacques (concierge - I hope I got your name right), Fama (housekeeping) and Rodrigue (restaurant) thank you for your many kindnesses on the stay.

Nice hotel
Very good location ande secure for the the foreigners.
Nice hotel but the staff needs more training
The Air Conditioning sometimes was low and could not support the heat in the early mornings.
Luxury hotel with great views
It was a pleasure staying here. Definitely one of the, if not the best hotel in Kinshasa. I would absolutely stay again on my next journey to the city.
Excellent stay at Kempinki Fleuve Congo summer 17
Wonderful staff incl. the concierge Coucou and Larry Jackson, the attentive waitstaff. We couldn't have asked for a better stay in Kinshasa.
There seems to be a lot of renovation going on at the hotel, which meant loud hammering and other noises while having breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, even as early as 7am. Additionally, the pool was closed and it would have been helpful to know that ahead of the trip.
Definitely some terrible bed bugs, free wi-fi is limited to 500 MB, ongoing construction by the pool, slow poolside food service (2 hours, normal for Congo) and hot water was not functional at all the first day; but aside from that, very nice stay.
I have found Kempinksi Hotels in Africa to be of a lower quality than those in Europe. This is definitely the best hotel by far in Kinshasha, but the breakfast buffet served in the lobby and the quality of the food and selection is mediocre at best (although the smoked salmon is awesome!). Believe it or not, the take away breakfast they offered (and delivered promptly) on the morning of my early flight was far better in quality. Much of the hotel common area is undergoing repair and/or renovation (and has been for some time) which is bothersome. However, the rooms are clean and modern and housekeeping does a wonderful job. The concierge staff also does an amazing job of rapidly responding to email requests prior to your visit. All in all, the right choice for your stay in the DRC.
Nice hotel in a safe area.
Enjoyed my stay. Hotel located in a safe area. Professional staff.
Good business hotel and welcoming staff
Apart from the Wifi system not always working and the renovations around the swimming pool which were not noisy, the rest was great - the staff was especially welcoming and friendly
Center of Business life in Kinshasa
Large rooms, very comfortable public areas, fast (and free wifi). The food is among the best in Kinshasa and it functions as the hub of business activity for the capital. Fair prices too, better than the competition. Highly recommended
Conventient and also clean
Excellent
Hotel with a view of the majestic fleuve congo
The hotel is simply clean, the staff is friendly. I've never stayed at a hotel where the room was made twice a day!
