Beautiful resort
Restful retreat in San Ignacio
A comfortable room, beautiful grounds and swimming pool, and helpful staff made our stay a relaxing escape. The lodge is conveniently located just on the edge of San Ignacio and is centrally located for tours of ruins and enjoyment of the natural beauty of the area. Their restaurant is a convenient alternative to going into town for meals. Highly recommended if you plan to stay in San Ignacio.
Falling Leaves was wonderful. The staff was amazingly nice and very helpful. The hotel itself is a little dated, but it's well kept and the pool area is brand new and really a cool spot to hang out. The location was close to everything and an easy starting point for tours and recreation. The food at the restaurant was good and was fairly priced. We will definitely stay here again.
The staff went above and beyond when we needed help with any thing. We lost our camera in a river while cave tubing, and the front desk went above and beyond to retrieve it from the tour company and make sure that we got it back. It was not expected, and a refreshing surprise. Food was really good.
We had a wonderful stay here and I would definitely stay again. The staff was all extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant is very good, and if you have an early morning planned for tours you can pre-order your breakfast the night before. We booked the ATM and Tikal tours directly through the hotel and felt very safe and well informed for each tour. Please note if you plan on walking into town lots this hotel is at the very top of a very big hill, it is still close to all of the San Ignacio activities, but just be prepared for a big walk back to the hotel.
Not worth price.
The people and the resort especially Paula were very nice and helpful. However, the condition of the resort is poor. The pool area was in disrepair and the hot tub was not hot. Just overall not what we expected for the amount we paid.
FANTASTIC PEOPLE!
Great property and truly amazing people! In addition to providing super friendly and far above the usual service of very good hotels, they went far beyond in helping us resolve an issue with our rental car. While we waited we sat around the new pool and learned from employees about the birds and howler monkees we could hear. These people are awesome and that's why we always try to pay a visit each year when we come to Belize.
Perfect mix of modern conveniences (U.S. hotel style) and quiet jungle atmosphere with local style and local elegance. The location is amazing. The view from restaurant is breathtaking spot for sunset
Falling Leaves love!
Paula does an amazing job successfully running this great hotel. She is kind, attentive, and is on top of everything. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The location is convenient to ruins and an easy walk down the hill to the town. The restaurant at the property is also very good. Recommend highly!
Great
Great stay. Loved the comfort and cleanliness of the stone house.
Absolutely loved the lodge. Located close to the town of San ignacio, it gives you a feel of being in the jungle, where you hear and see all kinds of birds, monkeys and other wild life. Friendly staff, hot tub and delicious inexpensive restaurant on site were really appreciated.
Belize at its best
Staff was very kind. Room was very clean and restaurant had delicious food.
Everything was great
I liked the setting and enjoyed reading by the pool. The rooms are updated and clean. There is a resturant on site.
excellent location
Great place to stay in San Ignacio
Great spot. A bit of a distance from downtown, and definitely up a hill. Beautiful place, though. And very friendly and helpful staff.
The cabins were outstanding! So Belizean! Very well appointed with jacuzzi. The staff at the front desk were professional and incredibly helpful. The staff at the restaurant/ bar were so efficient and catered to our every need. The food and drinks were wonderful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
We stayed in the family house and it was very clean with tons of room. The staff was extremely helpful. Pool was very nice and refreshing. The property is at the top of the steep hill so if you do not have a car and are not very active, you might find it difficult to walk back up the hill, but it’s easy to get a taxi, It very walkable into the main part of San Ignacio if you are of average fitness. Highly recommend this place for families and larger groups.
The staff were amazingly friendly. Just a nice vibe and great room.
Spectacular place with great restaurant and pool
Best place in San Ignacio
Great place, great service, great amenities
The property was nice but the cabin we stayed in was moldy. I wouldn’t stay again.
My brother and I had an excellent stay at Falling Leaves lodge. The room was big, spacious and comfortable. Ms. Paula and the entire staff were superb. The entire staff made us feel welcome and were available for any assistance, if needed. The view of the city from the restaurant was amazing.
.
Good location , friendly staff
Having visited a lot 9f hotels, this is the first time, I got a hand written personalized welcome card and I appreciate it very much. The staff was extremely helpful as reception was warm, cordial and friendly. The room had a king size and a queen size bed. The room was clean and spacious, wonderfully decorated and beautiful.
Excellent service. Very prompt.
The hotel was clean, Miss Paula was very nice and helpful. I recommended!
Falling Leaves is the best! It is quiet and is just beautiful on-site. The restaurant is great just as the service. The staff are so friendly and very accommodating. Helped with tours and transportation- a plus! The room was clean and bed was comfy. I will stay here again for sure!!
Great property surrounded by the jungle! Short walk or drive into town. Staff was helpful and very friendly.
These folks know what service means. Word class service and always go the extra mile. Going back, soon!
This place is beautiful and the best restaurant with an amazing view. The manager, Paula is so kind and will take care of you. Unfortunately they were working on the property making improvements. The noise of it was terrible. Where ever we went on this trip to Belize we encountered repair work. This place could be very amazing if they finish all the improvements.
Paula and all the staff at the resort were amazing. Amazing location and food!
Friendly staff.
Some of my group stayed in the family house, it was absolutely great. i recommend it to large families and large groups of friends. Clean, nice, comfortable, full kitchen, 3 full bathrooms, dinning room, large living room, plenty of seating, beautiful surroundings. We loved it. The grounds are gorgeous, the swimming pool was so pretty and the surroundings was peaceful. The lady at the front desk was very sweet, helpful and attentive. She set up our excursions, made sure we had everything we needed, they do your laundry if needed. The food was great at the restaurant on the property, they have a full bar. The rest of the staff was excellent. very helpful nice people. They take very good care of the property. My other friends had individual rooms, they loved their places as well. You can see all over San Ignacio because your on top of the hill, i was impressed with this place. i highly recommend staying here. I have nothing bad to say.
Nice place to stay in San Ignacio
We loved this hotel. Location was easy to access, just set back off the main road. Their restaurant and bar was very good, cocktails were well made! Pool was brand new, and clean. Great sunset views from restaurant. Thanks!
San Ignacio was our first stop in Belize and the hospitality was incredible in Cayo and at the resort. The room was nice, clean and cozy. The bathrooms are updated and very nice. The grounds are lush with a tropical feel. Pool has been renovated as well. We ate across the street at Cahal Pech resort and I must recommend the eggplant burger!! It’s so easy to walk to Cahal Pech Ruins next door or down the hill into town. You might want to catch a ride/taxi back up to the resort because it is extremely steep ($5-6 USD). Paula and the other hotel staff are amazing and like family! Paula helped arrange our transport from the airport and then onto San Pedro. We accidentally left a bag in the car with our taxi driver “Mates” and he worked with Paula to have it sent to San Pedro where we were staying for the next part of our trip. They are amazing!!
Only stayed here for one night before doing the ATM tour the next day, but room was clean and comfortable, and staff was very accommodating. They even let us order a very early breakfast so we could eat before going on our cave tour. Location is not super close to downtown area, but right next door to Mayan Ruins, which is fantastic. Great experience, highly recommend.
it is next to Cahal Pech site. Location is far from the town, especially the return trip with uphill walking. The hotel environment is serene, nice pool. Very helpful front desk staff. The restaurant service is good, food is so so, especially if you are looking for vegetarian options.
Lovely setting and restaurant; well-kept property. Wonderful staff.
I loved staying at Falling Leaves! Paula was so kind and made sure we had a comfortable stay. She was always in contact with the drivers who took us to our tours, and she made great suggestions for our trip. The property itself was so inviting and peaceful, I felt like we had our own oasis! The room was just what we were looking for - tons of space with a roomy bathroom and shower with great temperature control and water pressure. Their restaurant and the staff were very accommodating, and they made our stay very enjoyable. The Cahal Pech ruins are a two-minute walk from the hotel, which was very convenient and fun to go to. I highly recommend this for your stay in San Ignacio!
I had a very relaxing stay at the well-appointed lodging. The newly installed pool was a pleasant and welcomed surprise, especially since it wasn't listed at the time of booking. Upon arrival, guests are greeted and escorted to their rooms. The onsite restaurant and staff were wonderful, and despite the current expansion happening on the grounds, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The eco-friendly toiletries provided were a nice touch. Conveniently located next to the Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve, which we were able to see from our room, is a nice stop, as the other sights are hours drive away. There are a few restaurants located within walking distance from the residence. However, please note that the walk down several steep streets to the downtown area is not easy, especially in the heat. It takes about 20 minutes, and requires a climb back up to the residence, so it's not suitable for everyone. If you prefer, you can take a cab from the welcome center to the downtown area for around $10 BZE.There are a few restaurants located within walking distance from the residence. This property was amazing. The staff provided help that I didn’t event think of. The location is on top of the hills so peaceful but close enough to go into town when desired. It’s walking distance from Cahal Pech and had a fantastic sunset. I would stay here again.
The staff at this resort are over the top welcoming. The room was clean, quiet and relaxing and a great value for the price.
Really great staff who went above and beyond to make our stay nice. They were in the process of making the pool area really nice! The pool looked refreshing but we didn't go in it. Cons: the room we stayed in was pretty small and rustic. But for the short time we were there, it was fine.
Very nice place very friendly staff highly recommend it
Very close to Maya ruins site.
Property is huge with many trees and plants. Pool is beautiful and there was construction on new building for changing and bathrooms Room was adequate but door to room was ill fitting and did not seem safe. Paula was a shining star in the front office and took great care of us.
property is in the midst of being renovated, alot of unsafe areas. staff was great, Paula was so nice and helpful as was Kevin. shower could use attention, mold in some areas.
Wonderfull property Paula was great from arranging transpertation and excursions to having chef prepare soup for my wife when she was I’ll. She is a delight
Falling Leaves was exactly what I needed! It is nestled on the hill next to a Mayan ruin that you can check out. It was beautiful and quiet. The restaurant inside had delicious food for breakfast and dinner. Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Paula is incredible and made sure to take care of me while I was there. If I needed transportation for a tour, she got it for me. I felt so spoiled while I was there. I would recommend this gem and will come back! Thank you Paula and staff!!
Property was very beautiful and pool was very nice (but under construction). Very close to ancient Mayan ruins that are worth checking out. Construction of the units is not the best but the property is lovely and Paula is a true gem and massive asset to the resort.
We stayed in a regular cabana here and had the best time! Paula is amazing and made sure we had a great stay. It is clean, quiet, and beautiful on the grounds, the pool is refreshing and newly finished, and the restaurant had really good food. Totally recommend!
Great place to stay in San Ignacio. Very peaceful and natural (except the leaf blower running a lot). They are almost finished with new pool. The front desk staff, Miss Paula, is the best! She arranged awesome tours and massage and was super patient. Really liked the regular cabana we had. Good restaurant on site. Up a steep hill but taxis always available. I would totally stay there again if in that area.
Outstanding location, friendly people, excellent restaurant. Everyone did their best to make her stay enjoyable maybe the best restaurant in town.
Fantastic place for birds and birding!
Staff were excellent and very helpful. Right next door to the archaeological park and museum.
Property was nice and the room big and clearn
No complaints! Superb service, comfy beds and rooms, beautiful grounds, spectacular food. I don’t want to leave and will definitely be back. Paula will make you feel special and taken care of. Thank you so much for a great experience.
This is a fantastic property. The staff is so nice and helpful and the food is amazing. The cabana is a great room and it is right next to the Cahal Pech Mayan site. The only thing to be aware of is that there is no door on the bathroom!
It is next door to a mayan ruin. Very
My husband and I had such a great experience at Falling Leaves starting with the receptionist from the second we arrived. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. The kitchen staff were extremely accommodating - kept the kitchen open for us late arrivals (9 PM arrival), pre ordered breakfast for us the next morning so we didn’t run late for our tour that day and so much more. You can tell the staff is truly family, and made us feel like family. The property is stunning, with beautiful views of San Ignacio. Couldn’t recommend this property enough! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.
We enjoyed our stay. We were in the stone house which was ok but did not have any outdoor space to chill in. Typically in our vacations we like to sit on a porch and do nothing. I noticed that there were several other options that might be perfect for this on the property so next time I might pick more carefully which room we are in. But the people here are great and really neat location! Cachal Pech next door is totally worth the trip as well! We came here as a jumping off point for Tikal, which was amazing but also seeing Cahal pech and the market made for a fun short trip to San Ignacio!
Paula was very nice and accommodating. Hotel staff including the gardener were excellent.
Falling Leaves was the perfect base for our time in San Ignacio. This hotel provided us some of the experience of being in a more remote location, while still having great accessibility into town.
Outstanding staff and beautiful hotel
We were so delighted with this hotel. The staff went above and beyond for us. The manager, Paula, and the rest of her team went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating; Paula even made sure we didn’t have to figure out how to get to our tour group and set up pick up for us. We stayed in one of the honeymoon suites and it was so comfortable! Huge bed, air conditioning, walk in shower and a jacuzzi were all part of the experience. The hotel is up a really steep hill so we got the benefit of beautiful views while eating at the restaurant. It also has a nice little park-like yard where local birds and monkeys come to nest and eat throughout the day, which was so nice. The hotel is located literally next door to the Cahal Pech Mayan ruins, so adding that to your plans when staying here is a must. It’s a smaller archeological site, but still interesting. When we were there, they were in the process of building a huge pool area, so I look forward to seeing how it turns out! Everyone we met here was so friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time and will, without a doubt, stay here again when we come back to visit.
Great property. We got a complimentary room upgrade on arrival. The cabana and en-suite were in perfect condition. Paula was fantastic at helping with recommendations and arranging transport throughout our stay.
Falling Leaves is a magical place. We loved our stay and are planning on visiting again. Paula was so friendly and accommodating. I recommend anyone staying in San Ignacio to stay here. Miguel our server in the restaurant was amazing as well. All of the tours Paula booked for us were with some of the most amazing people we have encountered on our travels. The rooms and atmosphere are stunning. We will be back!
Excellent.
Great stay. Remarkable grounds, room, and restaurant. The very helpful staff repaired the internet promptly to ensure we were able to work online. Proximity to Cahal Pech Mayan site was wonderful. Nice mountain top retreat away from the sounds of the city. Definitely eat at the restaurant. Ms. Paula is a real pro.
Beautiful place and location is perfect as it’s right next to the amazing Cahel Pech ruins!
Customer service A . Keith was an excellent host at the restaurant and did a wonderful job. He even prepared a great smoothie upon request for breakfast for my wife and it was delicious. Great location and can walk literally like 1 minute down the hill the Mayan ruins.
We loved our stay at the Falling Leaves lodge. The place is very conveniently located and an easy walk to downtown San Ignacio (though a cab is recommended for the trip back unless you love uphill climbs after a good dinner, cabs are super easy to get and cheap). The staff is the friendliest of any place I have stayed at and they really take great care of you. The food at the restaurant is excellent and super reasonable priced (cheaper than most downtown places) - the only feedback I would have is to expand the menu a bit more for folks staying for more than 2 days. Overall, an amazing place that can be the base for all the adventures western Belize (and Tikal) have to offer.
Beautiful property and comfortable rooms! We enjoyed our stay and the hospitality was top tier! Would recommend!
Several of us chose to stay at Falling Leaves and we were all pleased with our choice. The location is excellent. It's on the hilltop next to the Mayan ruins (well worth seeing!!!) and catches nice breezes. The AC works well. The rooms are comfortable and very nice by Belize standards. Also, the area is very quiet.

San Ignacio Jungle Gem
Some of the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I have experienced. Paula greeted me at my late arrival and made sure I had everything I needed both at check in and throughout my stay, including some great excursions. The ever present bar and restaurant crew Elias and Harim were always there with recommendations and friendly conversation. Be it I had to leave early for a tour or needed advice on bars to visit while in town. Rangel, Kevin, Maria and Helen were busy keeping the room clean and the property well kept. If you visit be sure to go see the turtles in the wishing well and tell them hi.
