Wonderful hotel

This hotel is in a great location, very central and close to lots of restaurants & shops. It's literally less than a minute's walk to the beach and promenade and not too far from the main bus station. There's also a large shopping mall about ten minutes walk away at the harbour. The rooms themselves are clean and large, a bit dated but comfortable nonetheless. The swimming pool doesn't look as grand as in the photo if that's important for you. Breakfast is good, with a variety of meats, cheeses, fruit etc, there could be more variety, however there are plenty of cafes & restaurants serving breakfast nearby as another option. The service is first class, everyone at reception and the restaurant are very friendly & helpful, and able to recommend where to visit on the island. They also accommodated late checkout for us which was much appreciated. I would definitely stay here on my return and would highly recommend this hotel to any visitors to Las Palmas!

A nice hotel close to the beach

I had a nice 2-night stay at the hotel while attending a conference. The room was spacious and tidy, and breakfast was decent. The hotel was very close to the beach.

Nice room but a kettle and the ability to make a hot drink was definitely missed. The fridge was nice but the freezer section desperately needed defrosting. Bathroom was lovely and all the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotions were a lovely extra touch. Breakfast was a good selection and staff very friendly.

It is in the center of the city with walkable distances to plazas, dinning options and more. It is a very safe place to walk at night. The staff is ver friendly and assist in any ways you need. They called a taxi for us that was there in 2 minutes. It is closed to a beach, briers restaurants so and other amenities.

Very nice hotel, very clean, root top pool is amazing, central to the beach, food shops cafes, friendly & helpfull staff , I just 3 issues the pool side coded off too early, the television in the room is very very small, there is no kettle and coffee in the Room I struggles to get some hot water, no kettle at all on the hotel ground , not even for a cup of tea in the night or morning,,,,,, other than that I enjoyed my stay

My only issue was - orbitz charged about 120 a nt and when i arrived i asked their rack rate which was 80 a nt. In the past this was not the case - but need to verify in the future

4 star hotel - really??

Hi, Extremely disappointed, you are in the business of trust. This is the first time you fail big time when it comes to a 4 star hotel. 1) In the room 25% (1 in 4 lights have burned out) 2) In the closet there is 20% (1 in 5) hangers to hang clothes 3) The minibar is not cold. The receptionist told me to get cold beer from the next door supermarket, as the fridge is warm and on top one of the courtesy water bottles has been opened before. 4) The washroom ceiling had leaking from floor above. So all in all, not your best day when ensuring quality which I enjoyed before in selecting hotel using your service. Let me know what you will do to fix the issue. Kind regards, Risto Sandberg

The staff were very friendly anf helpful. The only downfall was the pool not being open. We werent told this and looking on the website before we went, it said closed due to covid but at the hotel was closed for maintenance. The location was however excellelnt for the beach, so made up for it and we could still use the roof terrace. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at this hotel as my partner is in hospital in isullar hospital in las palmas and found this hotel 2 b quite centrsl and essy 2 get 2 hospital. It is very nice 2 stay here when we are going through such a tramatic time

Good stay

The staff were welcoming, we asked for a quite room and was put on the 5th floor at the front and unfortunately due to the noise level till 3am we could not truly get a good night sleep. The room was a bit dated and the hotel was having renovations work done at the front, apart from that we enjoyed our stay, good location not too far from the beach and wonderful Playa de la Canteras promenade with lots bars and restaurants. Great location! Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Discounted parking nearby. Rooms are a bit dated but overall clean and comfortable. My room had a surround sound system which we loved. The pool is small but it’s pretty on the rooftop with panoramic views of the city. The hot tub and sauna didn’t seem to be working during my stay.

It is a high-standard hotel. Only the criticisms I had were; I was given a room with a window covered with blue net. There are a couple of modernization needed, ie TV (scale and quality wise), rollup curtains (electric but very slow, and woth lots of holes and tapes). The shower wasn't really walk-in flat levelled, it is a cubicle missing a door, so water goes everywhere on the floor. Othere than that it is a very good standard hotel.

The pool and reception area is modern and unique. The rooms need updating due to the following: lights were lose and needed adjusting, hanger in bathroom wasn’t screwed in and looked borderline dangerous, the shower door didn’t close properly so water got everywhere, the bed is rock solid-only slept on the last night.

I paid for a room with a sea view. The hotel DOES NOT HAVE ANY SEA VIEW ROOMS. Our room faced a brick wall! The hotel is NOT on the beach but one block back. We had to beg for a kettle which came with enough to make one cup of tea each. After that we had to buy milk and teabags. It advertised tv in every room but unless you speak Spanish or German, forget about watching it. The reception staff were friendly and one had excellent English while the others had adequate knowledge. The breakfast was excellent. Full cooked assortment, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, 10 different types of bread and served from 7.30 till 11am. Best thing of all is the salon where Bellene gives the best massages ever. Many very good restaurants within easy walk. I want a refund for the NON sea view room

For the past few years I have stayed with cantur city hotel and never once complained. Always had a great stay. They staff were and still are amazing but this time me and my dad were placed in a tiny room the smallest room I have ever been put in at the hotel. This time we had no kettle or water that we used to get but once we asked we were given them. We were also moved to a much better room. We were given free prosecco all which we are grateful for. There was work being done in the roof which we were not notified of at time of booking. Noisy work. We were also not notified at the time of booking the hotel had new owners. Also the food and drinks on the roof we used to eat and drink there most days but everything is double the price now so we didn't eat there or drink there. We had to complain a lot and don't like doing that. Not sure we will visit again. But one thing that was the same high standard was the staff. They are great. Thanks

First stay here. Decent location. Reception was good. Rooms are a little dated decor wise but room was comfortable.

Room not cleaned, dark lond hears in the bed, broken soap holder in shower. Liquid bodywash on the floor feels like iceskating. most of the stuff was broken: window, clock, bed, shower door.

Good hotel

Good hotel close to the beach with lots of places to eat and drink. It is difficult to get transport for trips around the island unlike in the south. The wifi is slow and takes a while to connect.

Lovely central hotel. Very helpful staff. The shuttle From Las Palmas was on time. The return was nightmarish and late so we had to pay for a taxi when we already paid for a shuttle. So be careful.

Right at the heart of the city the hotel is a short and I mean short walk to the beach and the many bars and restaurants available

The location is perfect very close to beach,shopping and taxis readily available to take you anywhere , the staff was very accommodating. Some of the furniture in the room needs to be replaced but would not stop me from staying again

Very convenient right next to the beach and walking distance to large bus hub. Good breakfast. Pleasant rooftop with pool and jacuzzi.

Good hotel, close to boulevard, beach, restaurants and shops. Large breakfast buffet and friendly and efficient staff. The negative points are: no daylight in my room, curtains were even blocked for obvious reasons. Bathroom had facilities for handicapped visitors, which I did not ask for. Shower cannot be closed and some water leaks on the bathroom floor when taking a shower.

Dissapointing

Overpriced hotel for an off season stay. Looking at the price for a Canaries hotel in October you would expect a much higher standard, hotel was probably good 20 years ago but it hasn't been taken care off correctly.

Lovely hotel close to the beach

We stayed 10 nights and had a great time in the Cantur hotel. The breakfast had everything you can wish for: fresh bread rolls,donuts, croissants, yoghurts, muesli, cheeses, fruits, cold meets, beans, rashers, pan cakes. All staff were very friendly and helpful. On the last day between check-out and leaving we were allowed to use the roof terrace with swimming pool, jacuzzi and showers. The only thing we missed was a balcony. But that is only marginal. We would definitely come back again.

Excellent hotel

Excellent hotel, extremely clean, staff extremely polite and helpful. The beach is literally 50 yards from the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel and I’m definitely going to book again at this hotel.

Very good experience!!

I spent 4 days at this hotel with my wife and 1 year old son and I just have positive things to say. The hotel is conveniently located at 1 min walking distance to one of the best parts of the La Canteras beach (several restaurants around). We also used the shuttle service and both drivers were very friendly and helpful (Tim and Jose). They provided a car seat for my son as well. The staff of the hotel is also very helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean and had all the amenities we needed (they provided a crib for my son). I strongly recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to return in a near future.

Great hotel 1 block from the beach!

The CANTUR CITY HOTEL is a great hotel only 1 block from the beach & boardwalk. The staff was always friendly & helpful (speaking Spanish might have helped me, but I heard them speaking a variety of languages). The facilities & specially my room, were always kept clean & tidy. The breakfast buffet was excellent & had a variety of choices for all appetites. I would certainly return to this hotel or recommend it to a friend.

Central hotel with good facilities

We spent a week in the hotel which is excellent for the promenade and also for access to one of the main bus stations. The hotel is efficiently run with all the facilities you may need.

Nice hotel, near to the beach, expensive parking

It’s a nice clean hotel, close to the beach and restaurants, expensive parking 14 Euro per day, the hotel has no parking of its own. Very kind and helpful staff. The cleaning staff don’t hoover the rooms until you ask them.

Great location for city and beach.

This hotel is very close to the beach and has its own roof terrace with a pool. So, easy to spend morning on the roof and afternoon on the beach. Being part of the city there are also lots of bar and restaurant choices - not just the beach front 'tourist' options but also away from the beach, more authentic local places. Really has something for everyone here. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly; hotel is clean and modern. Fairly easy drive from airport although with little need for a car once there, I'd probably get a taxi next time.

Perfect location and very nice hotel

The hotel is very good for its location, just near the beach and 3 min walking to reach the main square and shopping centre. The Hotel is very nice inside and has also a terrace with a beautiful view on the sea, including a little outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The hotel staff is always very helpful and the rooms are clean and nice. Very nice stay for 4 days.

Staying @Cantur hotel is a good experience.Staff are very friendly and helpful.Buffet breakfast is also nice.The only downside is that we booked double bed and we've got 2 single bed but overall its good.

Pleasant enough hotel.

We booked last minute for New Year. Beggars can't be choosers. It was nice enough. Our room was a disabled room. Perhaps this could have been made obvious at the point before we reserved it. We were facing onto the street which was loud, most of the time. The breakfast was ok but ás it was busy, we had to queue to get a table and the queuing system didn't work well. We had to let the waitress know we were still there when she had let others behind us in ahead of us. All a bit tedious. So much so that we actually went to another hotel for breakfast one morning as we just couldn't face the wait in ours. It was clean and the reception staff were always helpful. It is well located if you want to go to the beach and to go to the old town is just a short taxi ride away. good restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

Nice hotel, close to beach

Nice hotel, it was clean, staff were helpful and accommodating. The rooftop area is nice to relax on. Beach is very close by. The only poor thing about the hotel was the the food, breakfast was good but the food was always cold, they had a microwave to heat it up. We was on half board basis, the evening meals were not good, bland food, poor variety and the food was always cold by the time you sat down. Miguel the waiter was generous and always tried pleasing us as we always loved a bit of chips with our meal. This hotel could be rated well but the food really let it down. Also, take your own irons as the ones they send to ur rooms are rubbish.

Weekend stay

Stayed here for two nights. The location was great. Breakfast was very nice and had a good selection. rooms were comfortable and roof top pool was not too busy.

Close to beach, shops, transport.

The relaxed atmosphere we attributed to the staff( reception to restaurant ) first rate, attentive and helpful. The hotel is handily placed for local facilities( beach etc). The rooftop pools and jacuzzi / cafe/bar were very nice. All round views from the rooftop were special.

Two blocks from the beach.

The hotel from outside was not appealing placed in between other buildings, corner entrance, hard to find. Black glass and black marble/concrete, however inside was very clean and modern, and up-to-date. Two blocks from a great beach.

Very nice hotel in ideal location for beach, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, caffès and bars all within short walking distance. Varied buffet breakfast each morning. Sun terrace with loungers, jacuzzi, 2 pools, sauna and bar and lovely views . Really enjoyed our stay here. Will def try and go again next year.

Nice hotel, really close to Las Canteras

Hotel is clean and convenient, close to Las canteras. the roof top pool, bar and chairs make it a nice spot to relax and get sun. When booked through expedia, we got a reduced rate for the breakfast buffet. Totally worth it! I'd stay there again.

The hotel is only a short walk from the beach. The room was clean; the staff are very friendly and helpful. Family friendly hotel too. Overall, great experience. The only negative thing is we went for full board and the good wasn't that great. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

Hotel found on search for airport hotel.

This is not near the airport and the advertised shuttle bus does not exist- rather they have an arrangement with a local taxi firm which is more expensive that taking a standard cab. Good location if you want to be close to the beach and has a spa that we did not have time to use. Very poor range of tv stations. Overall seemed expensive for what was on offer

Nice clean and friendly hotel

Absolutely loved the hotel, all the staff were friendly and the room was great. The food was also very good, wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Decent hotel close to beach and restaurants.

Efficient, staff a little impersonal. Room had a little noise occasionally in the pipes. Breakfast was ok and plentiful. Roof area was very good I thought. A bit away from the Cathedral area 5 miles so it was a fair walk but interesting. The number 1 (yellow bus) will take you there (and back again) and is modestly priced.

A competent hotel

Don't expect a balcony or even a view, but this hotel's location 50 yards from a long and well-kept beach and promenade is excellent. Our room looked out on another building 10 feet away, but was clean quiet and comfortable. Local mini-markets are open all hours. If breakfast is not included in your tariff, give the hotel's expensive (23.20 Euros for 2) buffet version a miss and head for nearby Café Granier on the beach, where you can enjoy a wonderful continental breakfast for a third of the cost.

I think I completed this survey yesterday. In short: Lovely hotel, most helpful staff everywhere, huge buffet breakfast variety (and for only a surprising 5 Euros), centrally situated near famous beach, also about 6-8 minutes from city centre, a great variety of small bijou shops, and a multitude of restaurants and bars of every category. Ideal for young families. I could have done with a more comfortable armchair in my room, but forgiveable.

Overlooking the beach

Rooftop wasn't open enough in the evenings and there were no balconies so nowhere to sit most evenings but other than that hotel was great!

Not a 4 star hotel

In the description it says it has soundproof windows however this wasnt true as this was the noisest room i have ever stayed in.

Hotel is close to the beach

In short it was awful & spoiled our overall holiday experience. There were no lounge facilities for residence other than the roof top tiny pool and bar that never knew it's opening hours. On one occasion it was not accessable to residents because of a private party. The breakfast was the worst ever I experienced in any hotel & evening meals were woeful dried up food. the only good thing was the Christmas Day lunch.

Good location, poor wifi.

Great location, very close to the beach and a large number of places to eat. Only issues were the Wi-Fi being extremely intermittent, ranging from slow to non-existent and the air-con being pretty noisy.

For the more relaxing holiday

Overall it was a lovely break. The hotel was lovely, clean and plain simple. The reception staff were fantastic, and the cleaners were very thorough! As it was low season we practically had the pool and jacuzzi to ourselves and it wasn't overcrowded or noisy. The upstairs terrace was nice and got to chill on some sofas and watch the world go by. The location is a bit less desirable, there are no balconies, which was a shame although you view onto a harbor so actually a good thing! However it is right next to the beach and a selection of shops and restaurants. Id also highly recommended O Sole Mio Italian Restaurant, best food we had and avoid any chinese buffets (if your used to British buffets that is!) We didn't travel much, but got football tickets (las Palmas of course) and everything was very easy. Overall highly recommend the hotel and would come back.

Best sleep of my holiday

Excellent hotel.great service and a breakfast second to none. Would have stayed there for my remaining time on the island but regrettably they were booked out. Had 2 great nights sleep before returning to our holiday resort. We would recommend this hotel for its location,service facilities and as my wife is a keen cook the breakfast was outstanding

Very much love the stay!!

I stayed for 11 nights. I loved the lavish breakfast(May I recommend that the eggs be cooked with less grease). The staff was really nice and always ready to help. One thing to improve: the floor in the rooms being made of wood, the bed kept sliding ways from the head board.

1 night stay

Great Hotel , with fantastic Roof terrace, enjoyed our 1 night stay very comfortable room with everything we needed , from tooth brushes to bottled water , and the breakfast was 5 star. just remember to take every ones id/passport who is staying in the room

Good hotel close to beach and shops

Good hotel with good facilities. Room was very clean, water, fridge and tea and coffee all provided. Small Swimming pool and hot tub on the roof. Staff are ok they are not very friendly but they are very helpful. The tv is a boring there are only two English speaking channels which is Russia Today news and BBC world news.

Clean and close to the beach

It's a nice, clean hotel with staff which is always happy to help. We never encounered and trouble while we stayed and all our request were dealth with without any fuss.

Clean and very comfortable room.

This hotel was great for ease and comfort. My room was big with all comforts I needed. It is not a fancy hotel but very clean and a decent place to stay.There was no view to talk of but I didnt go there for that. The staff especially by the pool were wonderful.

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel was lovely and very modern. The bed sheets were regularly changed the water, towels, tea & coffee was replenished every day. I found Las Palmas wasn't particularly touristy with not many bars to choose from or things to do, if you want a quiet holiday, chilling by the pool and beach then it's perfect for you. The hotel was a two minute walk from the beach, with a corner shop right across the road. The terrace on top of the hotel was beautiful, with couches, sunbeds and bar next to the jacuzzi, sauna and small pool made the hotel seem very luxury with lovely staff. With a small gym downstairs I felt the hotel met my every need. The only downfall I found was the food, not very many vegi options and everything was quite dry. I would definitely return to the hotel if I was going to Las Palmas as it's a great value for money.
