Good location. Room small but reasonably well equipped apart from tea. Only 1 teabag on 1st morning. None on 2nd morning. Asked at reception and received 3 on 3rd morning. Rooftop bar closed for a private party on 2nd evening. Both bars closed for private parties on 3rd evening. Extremely poor that they don’t prioritise their paying hotel guests. At €500 per night this is very poor. We had a bottle of wine in our room. We may as well have been at home.

Beautiful spa facilities We were upgraded when we checked in and even offered to see the rooms before deciding. Great location with the station just opposite. Overall a great location to access all that Milan has to offer. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful especially concierge and the bar team on the 7th floor. The room was a good size and of a high standard. Only area of improvement is the breakfast which wasn’t of the standard one would expect of a hotel of this quality.

The staff and in room dining was exceptional but the hotel was dirty with dirty shower and stained carpets. Valet parking gave us the key and said they could not locate our car and asked us to walk through the lot and find our own car which was very strange.

This hotel was beautiful as was the staff. The location was questionable. Turns out the Central Train Station in Milan is the hang out for all of European criminals and prostitution.

The property was excellent . Service was excellent. The only issue in the new part of the Hotel where we stayed in a lovely corner room the streetcars run almost 24 hours 7 days a week . Very noisy . Get a room on the other side of the hotel and it will be perfect

Beautiful hotel with fabulous staff. Our room was spacious and very nicely designed. Had some issues with the operation of the lighting and also one of the built in fixtures dropped out of its place in the middle of the night.

I really wanted to stay in this hotel as I had seen it when I last visited Milan. From the outside, it really is stunning. It was perfectly fine inside, just maybe starting to show the age of the last internal renovation. That said, the room was comfortable, particularly the bed and the bathroom was fabulous. Can’t beat the location either, just beside the spectacular central station

This was such a lovely property-my room had views of the gorgeous central station and parks surrounding. Staff and service were so very nice and helpful-dining at The Terrace was fabulous and again—-that view was magnificent. Was a female traveling alone and felt so safe and comfortable. Thanks for a memorable trip!

6 STARS IT’S A CERTAINTY

My mother, upon returning from months of vacation abroad, had to stop for a night in Milan near the central station because the following day she would leave early in the morning on the direct train. The choice of the hotel was precisely because of its proximity to the station and I couldn't have made a better choice. I know the Luxury Collection Hotels are a certainty and so it was. Communication with the hotel was excellent as the requests. They made sure my mother was okay and worked to get her what she asked for. She was helped and accompanied to the train entrance. A heartfelt thank you to Martina who was very kind in her job and offered herself in everything. And thanks also to Luca the Concierge who was of great help regarding my mother's transport and information regarding timetables and transport. I don't forget Alessandro and Maurizio. When a hotel offers this service and professionalism with the addition of humanity it has the perfect formula for customers to return. Infact this summer I intend to come with my mother and spend a couple of days. Thank you for all your service and work.

I am so disappointed, I booked a room in this hotel with a lot of time in advance, and planned to stay there with my friends, but when the day came, I was told that they couldn’t provide me with a room and they told me two different stories as of “why”. This proved that they simply decided to cancel my reservation, probably for someone that payed a last minute over priced room. I will never come back to this hotel, nor I recommend it as it was an inconvenience for our trip logistics and no one cared. Very dissatisfied with how they handled things. If I would have canceled, they wouldn’t refund my money, but in this case, they didn’t wanted to refund my money. Very unprofessional!

Didn’t enjoy the stay.

The front desk reception weren't welcoming , rude and unhelpful. Every time i ask a question she seemed more bothered. Over priced, furniture is worn out and terrible service.

Amazing!

Poor treatment received upon check in. I called at 7am that morning to request a room with two beds. I was with my mother and arrived at 12:00pm our room was not ready until 4pm. After being told it would be ready at 2:00pm. I am a titanium member and was treated rudely by front desk manager and then screamed at by the front desk staff when I asked for a water while waiting. Caused me to miss an important meeting that was scheduled in advance.

The Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Every aspect, from check-in to the service in the restaurants was excellent. We definitely would try to return anytime we are near Milan.

The lighting in the room was a problem. When you turn off "all" the lights... there are dozens of very bright LEDs that you can not turn off. On both sides of the bed, the TV, the HVAC unit on the wall, and when you make even the slightest movement in the room, automatically the bathroom lights turn on and so does the "night lights".... Not good when you are trying to sleep. Sleep should be fulfilled in a dark room, not one with dozens of lights. Additionally, the main light in the ceiling wouldn't turn off as it was supposed to. It just stayed on. I called the front and they spoke to me like I was dumb/confused "you just turn the light off and it goes off" - then I explained and they sent maintenance. Took them 30 minutes to get someone to the room at 11 PM when we were trying to sleep. Then he wasn't able to fix the light and told us to "wait until tomorrow" we slept with the light on all night. We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and this was our experience in the room... Also, no Netflix or streaming. Just basic news tv channels. The hotel was nice, but the staff, the lighting, and the tv in the room have lots of opportunity for improvement.

Reasonably good property

Staff was very accommodating and helpful. The concierge had great recommendations. Would not recommend the restaurant or bar food but otherwise the hotel was great!

Very good- the guy in the roof restaurant joe from paris is lovely. And the guy from Sri Lanka roshi that help with the luggage was perfect too

Incredible stay , staff go above and beyond to make the best experience . Just across from Milano Centrale station , buffet breakfast was incredible , check in , private shuttle to shopping streets , all in all , one of the highlights of our trip...

Very nice but location not ideal for tourist visit

Very nice hotel, located right next to the train station but a bit far from other touristic attractions. Service is good although the concierge sent us to a restaurant on their weekly closing day. Pool and span open at 11 am only, not ideal.

The hotel is in a convenient location a short drive away from all the main attractions of milan. The staff are very courteous and helpful.

Quality finishings and housekeeping is tip top. Staff also very efficient and helpful. Breakfast was a fantastic spread and freshly pressed juices. Impressed. No street noise even though we were on level 2, and by the Central Station.

I been staying in hotel Galia over the past 7+ years. And the service used to be so amazing. However I am so disappointed from my recent stay as the service is no way near where it used to be. Spa closed on Monday, yesterday 12.30 and sauna, steam, and ice rooms where off, shower water pressure very weak, Staff not like in the past, car drop off service went from S class and Maserati to mini van and I waited for it for over 20min and it never showed up and staff were very unhelpful - not even apologetic.

The hotel was fine. Front staff was fine and quite helpful actually. Bellman really nice. Most of the folks serving breakfast were phenomenal. However the one manager or at least he looked like a manager. He was barking orders at everyone was absolutely rude like you wouldn’t believe. The Buffay closes at 11 AM and at 11:10 he starts tapping his watch to tell Gus to leave. From 1030 on the wanted to stop stocking the Buffay so the people would just leave. For a five-star hotel. This is unacceptable. This person should not be working in a service oriented business. I would never come back to this hotel again for this price and service or lack thereof.

My husband and I traveled to Milan on our honeymoon and had an amazing stay at Excelsior Hotel Gallia! Our first day we didn't even leave the hotel. We ate lunch and drank at the rooftop restaurant, went to the spa & pool then ordered room service for dinner while enjoying our room's view. The hotel was amazing and the staff really treats you great. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to Milan Central Station, so the price was also worth it due to the convenience. We were actually in Milan during a taxi strike and it didn't impact our travel at all since we were shuttled to Milan Central Station from the airport and there's multiple subway lines there. Highly recommend!

Five stars all around. Great location, basically door to door with MXP on the train, saved us a ton of time getting in and out of the city. Excellent staff. The gym, pool and spa are phenomenal, so was the breakfast. Oh, and they have a golf simulator! Would definitely stay here again

The staff were rude and unprofessional starting at check in, when the lady said she didnt see my name or reservation. The bellhop didnt offer to help with my large suitcasse up the stairs, i had to tell him to help me. I requested maid service and maid didnt come. I had to track her down and did a poor job. Someone banged on door nearby really loud at 8 am and my last day, staff member rang my door bell 5 times at 6 30 am and asked if im okay, probably 12 hours late about how my ac didnt work. This place is in a bad location from the nice sites so be prepared to walk 3 miles each way to the main sites and fancy stores. Stay at better hotels closer to main sites and not be near the train station because they have skateboarders doing dangerous stunts and no cops. They treat Americans with disrespect in all cities i visited and short changed me many times and are rude. I doubt i will every visit Italy every again anytime soon. Its a beautiful country with a great history but they were disrespectful toi me way too many times for me to ever waste my money there again. Sad

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, rooms were comfortable and well kept and is in keeping with the rating of the hotel. Terazza Galia restaurant was excellent ; I highly recommend it even if not staying there. I had however booked the hotel assuming that there will be transportation available to the city centre as per the information provided when booking. It seems this was not the case due to COVID. I am disappointed that there was no update on this for the past two years. I would have booked a different location as this is inconveniently located. The front desk staff was not accessible via phone and I had issues requesting additional toiletries from the housekeeping despite leaving notes which I needed due to my luggage being lost. The breakfast at the hotel was pricey for the quality. I would not recommend adding it to the booking. Overall, for the price I had expected more.

The Hotel itself is amazing, clean and very clean! Concierge service terrible! Couldn’t get them to pre order me a taxis the night before and the day leaving they let me and my wife stand outside with no notice that a taxis was not coming…. We had to ask while they were BS’ing around and was told no taxis available, we talked across the street and got a taxis. What a way to end a visit

Milan is mazing by all means, the hotel has best location if you use underground train, breakfast was excellent and staffs were so friendly, parking over night was bit expensive (50+10€) per night...

Great but need maintenance in some rooms

It's was a wonderful stay despite some issues with the room but in general it's great, also i like to thank Sir luca the concierge i never met a helpful and friendly concierge like him

Great location, excellent staff.

We travel quite a bit and I must say this is one of the best properties we’ve ever stayed at. We stayed over Christmas ‘21 and the “halls were decked.” The location is ideal, the rooftop bar and restaurant are idyllic and the breakfast phenomenal. We had the Christmas Eve dinner - magical!! Antonio prepared the panettone at our table. I highly recommend this property!

If I could give a higher rating than excellent, I would. I cannot say enough for how much we loved this hotel, inside and out. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The staff were magnifico!!! The rooms were clean. The food the restaurant was excellent. It's right next to the train station. Not far from shops and food. You must stay at the hotel. Next time in, Milan, this is where I'm staying.

Simply a beautiful hotel.

This property was a real disappointment in its remodel. Very contemporary cheesy design, not sympathetic at all to the origin of the property. The general condition is going to deteriorate quickly, we had bathroom sinks, faucets and door handles that were all coming off / really loose. When we sat down for dinner on the terrace , which is a beautiful spot, we never received a menu, after 30 minutes the waiter came by to take our order but without a menu this isn’t easy. Just a very slack culture has been created at this property. Turn down was skipped altogether. Disappointing that an old Grand Dame like this has slipped so far. Five stars on paper only.
