Not worth the money

It was tiny , the light flickered and the blinders where broken in the bathroom so anyone could look in. Also they messed up my other booking for my friends room.

Cheap Hotel

Upon arrival was told that room was not paid for as I had expected they said they had received my card details but had no card processing facilities and I needed to pay the full 10 days in advance in cash that I could go to a teller machine in a nearby service station to make the withdrawal, which I did and insisted on a receipt, I will verify the payment made to Expedia upon my return to Aus. The room had a small Dinning table with 2 three leg chairs which fell over backwards unless weight was put on the seat, the bedroom area had a small square coffee table that one leg had fallen off of and a double bed with 2 very thin pillows there were no draws or clothes hanging facilities. toilet and bathroom were seperate and shared and were clean and tidy. TV worked but took 40 mins to come on

Bottom end accommodation

Dreadful. Yes it was cheap, but dirty, filthy carpet. Shower produced only a low flow of warm water. Bathroom door wouldn't open enough because bed obstructed. Receptionist (pleasant guy) tried charging a higher rate than was quoted. Definitely wouldn't recommend. There are better cheap hotels/guest houses in the area.

Wasn't as good as expected. Ended up having to share a bathroom/toilet if you want to call it that. No one on Reception when I first arrived, and when they did come through after another customer found them they were on the phone. Room smelt like someone might have been smoking on there, and being a non-smoker didn't find it very nice.

You get what you pay for

The location was good with regular buses going to the Excel centre right outside. The only complaints would be that the room we stayed in had a boiler which made the room very hot - not particularly comfortable in the middle of summer, and that it could be noisy at night depending on the other guests. I stayed here with two others but had I been alone (as a women) I might have felt less safe. The staff were always pleasant.

The Worst

Stayed here on the 29/06/16. Was raided for unknown reasons by the police (apparently it was a prostitution house but I can't confirm that). Might be able to find a story about it on the internet. Room was disgusting, was in one of the basement rooms - mould everywhere, bed was stained and only 1 out of 4 lights worked. Would NEVER recommended. Please, please, please pay more for a better hotel.

Not what was expected

We were provided with a small basement room, for 2 people, so had no windows. being located right next to the kitchen there was often a weird smell and the air was damp. the room Appeared to have previously had a leaking problem with water damage on the ceiling, whilst some of the furniture was broken. Whilst there was an effort to keep the room clean it still seemed dirty, with multiple stains on the floor, mattress and base of the bed. The check in was fairly quick and staff offered to carry our stuff down the stairs, other than this we had little interaction with them. The Hotel was located quite far from our desired location, thus not suitable for our personal requirements due to walking to save money. Though was located near a range of shops and bus stops.

Room was tiny and in bad condition looked nothing like the pics. Was at front of hotel near reception and it was very noisy and lots of people outside window throughout the night also room smelt badly of cigars even tho it was a non smoking room. Okay when guest expects only basics

Stayed there for one night as I couldn't find anything else in the surrounding area at short notice. It's very basic which is reflected in the price. The initial room given was in the basement (no window) and was smelling of cigarette smoke. After asking for another room I was given a room in the loft which had a window. It's good enough to survive the night and okay for the price I paid.

Cheap and cheerful, but not brilliant.

Staff were friendly and helped if asked. 3 rooms booked. One one 1st floor stank of smoke - the window was propped open with a glass bottle to facilitate the previous occupants smoking habit. The 2 rooms on the 2nd floor were accessed via a spiral staircase made from plastic and metal, which felt exceedingly unsafe and was very narrow. It was very difficult to climb carrying suitcases etc, and wobbled alarmingly. The floor on the 2nd floor was uneven. The bathroom was clean, but the shower cubicle was tiny. Neither room had tv, or even a kettle. Very very basic - bed, chair, and hooks on the back of the door. The smoke alarm from mine had been removed and was lying on the floor behind the door, which makes me think that this one had had a smoker in it too, and that the floor couldn't have been cleaned in between or it would have been found. The sloping roof meant that I banged my head a couple of times too. The single room was no more than a cupboard really - only room for a single bed and a chair. The bed however was comfortable. I'm glad it was winter though, as there was no blind at the window (in either upper room), so I would have been awake at dawn with the sun shining through in summer.

OK if you know what you are getting

This is in an older part of town and it is designed around an old office building (or so it looks). The rooms are very small and akin to a hostel. Most share a bath room. The top floor rooms are extremely small with only a bed and power outlet. But again, they were clean and quiet. So not a bad place to crash for a night. It is the east end so be aware of the neighborhood. As others have mentioned the front desk staff and the cleaning staff are very nice and helpful.

First I have booked for a specific and bigger room through Hotels.com, when I arrived in London I was informed the room I booked wasn't available. Secondly the room I was offered and stayed I could hardly stand up, was very small and the ceiling very low. It shouldn't be a room, it should be a storage place. However the room was clean.

Not suitable for girls on their own.

You truly do get what you pay for. This hotel was very cheap. Had to pay £5 to park the car. Entrance to car park was very narrow so difficult to get in and out. Its shared bathroom and the bathrooms were disgusting. There were signs in the room saying no smoking but the room smelt of stale smoke. The smell was making us all sick. We went as four girls quite late at night and it was quite scary. Lots of people outside. Did not feel comfortable at all. Check out was late morning but we left at 7am because we just couldn't stay there a second longer. No mirrors in the room. People screaming all night and we were there on a Wednesday night. Can hear cars driving past. Would never go back there. But if you want somewhere cheap just to rest the night. I'd recommend for guys. But it didn't feel safe for girls. Could also hear the couple in the room next door having a lot of fun. We certainly were not. Receptionist was nice.

Do yourself a favour an avoid this hotel.

To keep it brief, I would advise spending the extra money to get into a better hotel. While the staff were absolutely wonderful, the hotel itself should not actually be a hotel. The room we were given was tiny, literally in the basement with nought but a double bed. A shared bathroom for the entire building is not enough, I fail to see how the owners think this is a functional set up. We didn't stay the night. We checked out within two hours of checking in and moved to another hotel. Would not recommend.

Awful!!!

This was the worst placed I have ever stayed in, in London. I already had an issue with this hotel as they originally overcharged me for my bookings, but I noticed this on my cc statement and eventually got my money back. A tiny barren room, next to the front door and overlooking the street. Inadequate window covering that did not block out the light from the street, and even allowed people to see straight into the room at the sides! The hotel is on a busy main road with petrol station on the opposite side. I got no sleep due to the light from the street and the noise from people banging the front door and taking noisily as they passed in and out of the hotel, and from the noise from the street. The receptionist was miserable, and when I wrote to the hotel to complain about my stay they just sent me a sarcastic reply! I have a second booking arranged at this hotel but I have forked out the money to stay elsewhere instead as the hotel will not refund my booking, and I cannot bear to stay there again!!! Just awful!

Tiny room with only enough space for a bed which was certainly not a double. No drawers or wardrobe just a hook on door so had to live out of suitcase. No place to put suitcase but on floor and step over it. On ground floor and no privacy in bathroom looking to car park as blinds incomplete so had to put a cushion in window. No shelves, unit or hanging space in bathroom for toiletries. Shower did not drain so standing in dirty water. very noisy and could clearly hear conversation next door and in corridor. Area quite scary at night. When complained effectively told too bad. After a couple of days Had to ask for waste bucket to be emptied, toilet rolls and fresh towels. TV working intermittently. Everything under one roof

I'm not about to rave about this hotel as there were a couple of negatives, but for the price, it was good. We paid extra for a private bathroom but you can go cheaper and use the shared bathroom. There is a community kitchen should you wish to use it, also daily housekeeping and someone at reception at all times. The rooms are a little small but that could've been because we had an ensuite not a shared room. Very continent however, only a 6-7 minute walk from with Plaistow or Upton underground station with a 24 hour shop next door should you need anything. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting cheap accommodation in London.

Praktisches einfaches Hotel

Was sehr praktisch war.

Soluzione economica

Prezzo giusto.

Don´t go there....

A legrosszabb élmény

Hello! Borzasztó a hangszigetelés, fürdés langyos vízben, forró csak a csapból. A fürdősz ajtaja félig nyitható az ágy meggátolja a teljes kinyitástól.Az ágy mérete 1-1/2 személyes, és kialudt kényelmetlen. (Én a párommal voltam) A szoba mérete kicsi, egyikünknek ülni kellett míg a másik elhalad elötte.
