OK experience, room for improvement.
Lovely location. Spacious rooms spread out overlooking Etosha. Food ok, buffet expensive for dinner especially when they rundown the options towards the end of the sitting. We had to ask them to make more of a chicken dish as we don’t eat red meat. Staff on the whole very good, although the lunch time crew seemed disinterested when we arrived at 2pm. Breakfast much better. Rooms could do with a refresh.
I booked this property seven month in advance through expedia, the day before they told me that there was no booking I was shoch, finally they sort it out. The hotel facilities are nice, food was excellent, it was clean some of the staff need a training concerning english language. I would not pay more than 250 euros per room
We enjoyed our stay. The only negative is that I got tired of only buffet meals.
Beautiful lodge with amazing view.
Etosha mass tourism
Lovely room in a super hotel 10 kms from the main Etosha park gate. Fabulous sunsets and Etosha one of the great game reserves in the world Only complaints … slightly impersonal but inevitable given size and food average
If you have mobility issues, thete are a lot of steps (with handrails) but it is steep terrain The office does offer a car to go from msin lodge to rooms Staff is amazing, especially Nakale, the manager I'm not a fan of buffets which is served for breakfast and dinner Food was good but just not hot enough Great showers and lots of hot water Overall, it was a nice visit.
they had issues in finding my booking, room was nice but no view, which we were surprised about given the location. Nice sunset terrace. Dinner was not included and they charged 23£ per person per night (drinks excluded), which was a bit of a rip off for a buffet in Namibia and the quality of the food. Overall ok but wouldn’t go back.
Great lodge but the duvets are for the north pole
Etosha Safari Lodge is beautifully located near the entrance of Etosha Parc. Great views from the terras. Good food with the evening buffet. The houses are spacious, clean, nice bathroom and a small terrace for your self. The beds are good, but the duvets are so heavy and thick that you need to put the airco on freezing (which is not possible) to avoid sweating out of your bed. This kind of duvets, when temperature outside can be in the high thirties Celsius, is not a smart and ecofriendly thing.
Great lodge close to Etosha National Park
Great lodge, in great condition, and spectacular views! Definitely recommended for a quick stop and visit to Etosha National Park.
Beautiful quiet property with beautiful views! Very safe, great staff. Only areas for improvement, no wifi in the rooms, no television anywhere on property. Refrigerator in room would be nice (rooms are amazingly beautiful though and got alot of reading done with no tv or internet) Lastly, my main issue is that it was about $200 Namibian dollars more to get an etosha tour at the lodge than at the etosha safari camp, which is the same tour (as we picked people up there for our tour). Found this out last day. Also we went to the camp for dinner, and in was more lively and fun down there. Retroactively, i would stay there. Lodge is fancier, camp is laid back and fun.
Great place to stay in Etosha
Excellent lodge with fantastic customer service. I wish we had more time to spend there.
superb location excellent staff, very good food, close to park
Lovely lodge in a great location. Good sized rooms, good choice at the buffet dinner. Friendly staff. Only a short drive to the park.
Full of tour bus clients. Food very average. No water in room and the last guests clothes were in the wardrobe. Staff friendly and helpful though and terrace good for sunset.
It was a beautiful outlook from the main terrace and a fantastic location, close to Etosha. Saw some zebras on site and a giraffe close by. There was a lodge inside Etosha too but Etosha Safari Lodge seemed much nicer in comparison. I never felt very welcomed by staff, they were often quite cold on approach which was a shame. The evening buffet was great but didn’t realise this wasn’t included in our price. Only found out at the end. Very difficult to go elsewhere. The rooms felt very secluded and were exceptionally clean.
The hotel is beautiful, very well positioned at a top of a hill, which provides great view over the surroundings. But the overall service is not good. It seems that the numbers of the staff are not enough. Both at dinner and breakfast we felt that everything was taking far too long.
Great service and location
The staff at Etosha were fantastic and extremely helpful.
Great location for Etosha Park
Stayed at this lodge for 2 nights and did a self-drive tour of Etosha National Park, which was very enjoyable! We booked here because of location (10 kms from park entrance) and we had stayed at a sister lodge (Namib Desert Lodge) which was excellent. The staff here were quite excellent and went out of their way to help, great service! The bungalows were a bit dated but interesting layout and comfortable. I rated this property lower than its sister property mainly because of food quality and missing amenities, such as chairs on the balcony and lack of turn down service (the bungalows are very spread out so a long walk if you need anything). Same as for the sister property, the breakfast and dinner are buffet only, the difference was in the quality of food, choices, and lack of freshly cooked options (eg. omelets; stir fry). A la carte choices would be preferred and also could do with a fridge in the room. Had we stayed here first I would have been less likely to book at a sister lodge however for our purposes it was good.
5 star luxury in the wilderness
A quick getaway to the world famous Etosha National Park was made even more memorable by the stay here!
The view from the terrace was awesome especially for a sundowner
Poor quality service and poor facilities
We stayed for one night before going into Etosha Park. The views of the bush are very nice from the main building in the lodge which is located in a hill top. The dinner available is only buffet with choice of different game meats. As we do not eat game we could not have dinner. The breakfast was not fantastic. The beds are extremely hard. We were unable to sleep with such poor quality beds. The service around the pool is none existent and you have to fetch your own drinks. Overall this lodge is not good value for the money charged. For cheaper price we had a better experience at Halali lodge inside the park where we had a chalet with private jacuzzi. In my view the best is staying inside the park
Would be nice to see an ala carte menu for dinner instead of just buffet
Amazing
Fantastic location close to Park gate. Beautiful reception area with a warm welcome from the lovely staff. Sundowners on the deck amazing as was the buffet dinner that caters to all preferences and requirements. Room and bed clean and comfortable butinadequate toiletries, need to bring your own.
Excellent lodge for Etosha
Fabulous lodge close to Etosha. V friendly & helpful staff. Room clean & comfortable. Game drive from the lodge was v good
Etosha Safari Lodge
Great location, only a short distance from the Etosha Park southern gate and great game drives. Fantastic views from the hotel.
2 nights not enough!
My partner and I stayed 2 nights at the Etosha Safari Lodge and there were no faults. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were big, clean and comfy. Beautiful lodge with amazing views of the area. The food was lovely, serving game meats in the buffet for dinner. We did 1 game drive with the lodge (which was about a 15min drive to the nearest gate) where we saw 4 of the Big 5 (no buffalo in Etosha NP). We would definitely come back and would not hesitate to recommend this lodge.
There must be better options for the money
The only nice thing about the hotel is the terrance at the reception/restaurant. The hotel rooms must have been nice at some point. They still look cute from outside, BUT, there was a gecko and bugs in both of our rooms. The rooms smell like sewage unless we close the toilet door, which helps a bit. We had two rooms and both had bugs, and the terrible sewage smell. The dinner buffet is expensive but below average, if not terrible. I am very surprised by the high ratings here. The staff, management were not very friendly, first they asked us to provide proof of booking. Luckily, I had a copy on my phone. However, even after providing this, they proceeded to accuse us of not having a booking, later they looked in their print out of bookings, and told us, yes we indeed had a booking. they did not apologize, although they made us look like we did something wrong. Overall, I would recommend people look elsewhere.
Fine but 'over done'.
Fine accommodation and service, but 'motor ways' to 'rooms' are very hard on tyres. Appreciate the effort to upgrade access to rooms, but the end product not so good.
Nice hilltop view
I had opted for this lodge because I wasn't able to get accommodations in the park itself. We weren't disappointed because the lodge is a short distance (less than 10 minutes) to the park entrance along a paved road. The food (breakfast and dinner) was quite good but nothing special. Service was pleasant. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean. Each unit had a parking spot which was great because we had rented a car. The was a very good view from the balcony extending out from the restaurant area. One morning, on our way out, there were four giraffes and a zebra along the road about 50 meters or so from our unit.
Stunning spot in the middle of the bush with great views from the lodge. Very uncomfortable, noisy beds. No fridge in the room, poor WiFi.
Fantastic view and location!
We spend 4 days in this lodge! We had our own little private house (room 1) with an amazing view on Etosha park!! They have three different private pools. All super nice and clean. The view from their restaurant area is absolutely splendid as well! It is only 9 km away from the entrance of the park. They provided us with a great guide and service overall. The food is a buffet for both breakfast and dinner - very good - and lots of it.
Beautiful view
Beautiful view with a friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Trips into Etosha right from the hotel.
Good situation
Lovely setting and nice room but falls down on basic essentials. No fridge in the room and a long way to reception to get a cold drink especially at night. There was also no hair dryer although the reception staff did produce one on request. Wifi only available in the bar but not much use when it didn't work
Good location for Etosha
Good lodge fairly close to Anderson Gate. Very nice balcony for dining and great terrace for sundowners.
Nice lodge at the Etosha
Staff is exelent, lodge is exelent, food is exelent!
A definite recommendation
Excellent food, nice cosy atmosphere at night after dinner with 2 local musicians. Very friendly staff and very helpful
Wonderful stay!
The Etosha Safari Lodge is just outside the spectacular national park, just a short drive. Staying outside the park means you are limited to visiting during daylight hours, but the Lodge seemed like the nicest place in the area. The little separate huts on my side faced the sunrise to the east. There were two pools and free wifi. Gorgeous views, free breakfast, sunset cocktails, and the chefs for dinner took excellent care of me and my dietary restrictions. Our air conditioner didn't work, but overall the place was wonderful.
your own zoo outside of your door
We had a 2 bedroom chalet which was fully equiped and serviced in a wonderful setting with wart hogs, monkeys and mongoose running around the front door. A very safe and magical place, which we would highly recommend to everyone.
great place to stay near etosha
Very good place to stay near etosha, the bungalows are lovely, clean, the food was great and staff very helpful. Had a couple of great game drives with their drivers who went the extra mile. Would stay there again.
good bt expensive accomodation outside Etosha park
very calm and quiet place. lots of birds in the viccinity. does not have telephone or refrigerator in the rooms. buffet dinner is a bit expensive. Overall it was good since it gave us a feeling of living in the forest.
Convenienat location for visitng etosha
Stayed in the camp whch was well appointed spacious cabins set in private bushland. They use imaginiative animals prints to decorate the concrete floors and shower. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and will go out of they way to help with special diets. Ffood was great especially important when there is no where else to eat. One of the best places close enough to Etosha to enable to go in the park early in the morning. If you don't feel like going for a game drive you can relax by the pool or the bar or sleep in your aircond cabin.
The location and surrounding was as amazing as the lodge itself. The rooms are well designed and the personnel of the lodge was very kind.
Sehr tolle Anlage, nähe zum Etosha prima. Bungalows etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sonst jederzeit wieder
Sensationell view and very convenient to the Anderson Gate!
Wonderful stay - highly recommended
We spent 5 marvelous nights. Since we weren’t willing to drive ourselves, it was an ideal alternative as it provided a shuttle from Windhoek directly to the lodge. The veranda offers a great view at sunset, the rooms are spacious (if a little cold in the winter), the food is excellent, you can spot some wildlife right at the lodge (we saw giraffes, zebras and a baboon) and have an amazing view of the milky way at night. The game drives are done in comfy vehicles, with blankets and drinks provided and most guides are great (would ask for Petrus, Dumba or Richard). Since you’re staying outside the park, you have to wait for sunrise to enter, but the guides still do their best to search for the big cats (and we did see some cats every day we were there). It is far more expensive to do the morning and afternoon drives than the allday one but we‘d recommend it because if you miss the cats in the morning, your chances are better towards sunset (the allday drive returns around 3pm). In the winter, it does get extremely cold, so bring winter gear! The staff were lovely and helpful and even sang for the guests. Ideally, we would have liked the option to take a shuttle to the other Gondwana property and see another corner of Etosha but the park is big and we saw many different routes even staying by the Anderson gate. Many thanks to the receptionists, guides, chefs, waiters! We really cherished our time there! (PS: please make the Gondwana fleece jackets available for sale in the shop)
.
Top Lage, leider etwas abgewohnt
Nice hotel to stay one night.
Lobby, restaurant and bar are very nice. The area to see the sunset is awesome. The rooms/bungalows are in urgent need of refurbishment. And there are bizarre things like steps to access the bungalow, which obviously makes it difficult to move suitcases. Also the parking next to the bungalows needs to be improved.
On top of the hill you have a very nice sunset view and a very nice view from the pool.
Gute Lodge und netter Service
Gute Lodge, netter Service, leckeres Abendessen.
Good location to explore Etosha, nicely decorated lodge, buffet style diner/breakfast, great sundowner terrace, friendly staff
Great lodge - very attentive staff - good dinner buffet
Kein so gutes Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis! Im Bungalow kein Kühlschrank, keine Gläser, dafür Koffer fremder Leute. Insgesamt zu viel Rummel!
Alba e tramonto mozzafiato
Ottimo panorama, personale quasi sempre gentile e cordiale. Cena a buffet apprezzabile.
Área do hotel excelente, tanto restaurante, piscinas, deck. Vimos girafas e zebras no waterhole do hotel :)

Highly recommended stay at the Etosha Safari Lodge
This is a beautiful lodge located about 17 km from the Anderson Gate of Etosha National Park. The chalets are clean and cozy and the beds are quite comfortable. The walk-in showers and water pressure are excellent. The meals served in the lodge restaurant are buffet-style, with many selections. I found the food and selections, as well as the drinks offered by the bar, to be exceptional! The views from the lodge balcony during the day, but especially at night (moon and stars), are stunning. The lodge offers morning, afternoon, and full-day game drives to and in Etosha, and the guides are wonderful hosts. We saw a lot of wildlife during game drives on two separate days, especially on the western side of the park. I would definitely stay at this lodge again and plan to return in the future. The value you get for your money is excellent.
