Exceeded my expectations. The property is a bit dated / could use some upkeep, eg. caulking in the showers. However the property itself, views, pool, grounds was just incredible. Food at breakfast was also very good, staff was helpful. Really glad we stayed!

Everything was AMAISING!!! Especially view and the breakfast … Only the room equipment is a little bit dated - crucking bed and running shower … But!!! If I will have the possibility - I will turn back! For sure!!!

Hotel occupies a stunning plot set up on the hill over multiple levels. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff were great with the exception of Celina who was outstanding - going out of her way to accommodate any requests, and possessing always a cheery disposition. The dinner menu was good but when you stay for more than one week is boring and would benefit from, at the very least, one daily special. The room was tired, in particular the bathroom with the shower door not shutting and the toilet seat poorly fitted. We had a beach towel on arrival but it would have been nice if this was automatically changed at the end of week one. The hotel apparently had a barbeque for the first time on the evening before we left and our driver to the airport asked whether we had been but we had no idea of its existence. On two nights a week there were music events (open to outside visitors) which impacted on the rest of the hotel which was a shame as really they should have been in addition to 'normal service'. The pool was beautiful but there were at least 7 hard plastic sunbeds that were missing their padded topper which meant if you were out in the morning you would possibly end up in the afternoon on a very uncomfotable sunbed - for not much cost I'm sure these could have been replaced. I would recommend the hotel as a very restful holiday but would recommend they address the few niggly issues and invest a bit of money in the tired areas

Amazing views, friendly staff who genuinely made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Food delicious and well presented. Shuttle to Funchal and for island tours great. Beautiful place we hope to be back

Stunning!

The hotel is sited in an amazing position and there were stunning views from most areas. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. The hotel facilities were good. There wasn't a huge choice for breakfast but it was stylishly presented, fresh and most enjoyable. Fruit was in abundance! All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The transport provided was useful, efficient and much appreciated. All covid restrictions were well observed and we felt safe. My only criticism is that there are a lot of steps and not many handrails!

The design and location is amazing. It is quiet and peaceful. Few children. It is however, a little tired and ready for a refit or TLC (renovation works were going on whilst we were there). It was disappointing that a lift was out of service for the whole week. Not easy to carry luggage up stairs, with no assistance from staff.

The staff were excellent and the food was first class. The rooms were large and comfortable. The hotel has plenty of areas to sit and admire the view and a great pool area to relax. Will definitely be back here?

I'm not a big fan of heights, there are a lot of bridges to cross to access the elevators, which as the hotel is set across many levels need to be crossed a lot! However there are alternative routes via stairs if you can manage them. We loved the lay out and clever use of space to maximize the views from the cliff top

I died and I went to Estalagem Heaven

Everything about this hotel is superb. As a huge devoter of architecture and design, this is exceeding all my expectations. No detail has been forgotten, even the jug the fresh orange juice is served in to the replenishment of the breakfast spread. Staff are happy to cater to your every need. They are discrete, calm and always greeting you with a smile. Rooms are crisp white, bedsheets felt like cashmere. The food at the hotel restaurant is great, there is absolutely nothing that I can fault about this place. It was my friend's birthday and they had organised a birthday cake which was so thoughtful. If I die, i hope it looks and has the sensibility of Estalagem

Basic hotel but with some good features

The rooms are pretty basic..... but the amazing pool area and the fabulous breakfast buffet each morning seem to make up for that!

Très bel hôtel avec architecture au design très original, aérée et sobre superbement intégrée au rocher qui domine la plage et le bord de mer de Ponta do Sol. Beaucoup de recoins magnifiques côté jardin et côté mer pour faire une pause en plein air, au calme. Belle piscine à débordement, jacuzzi au bord de la falaise et piscine intérieure très chaude avec une vue magnifique sur le bord de l'océan. Petit-déjeuner extra avec vue plongeante sur la ville et ses collines. Personnel très accueillant et prévenant aussi bien à l'accueil que le personnel des chambres que celui de la restauration. Parking gratuit au pied de l'hôtel où il n'est malheureusement pas toujours simple de trouver une place (car barrières ouvertes en permanence). Petite salle de sport avec vue sur mer extra...mais n'ouvre qu'à partir de 9h00..un peu tard pour les lève tôt. On a vraiment apprécié les jardins et espaces verts et la vue magnifique sur l'océan. Grandes chambres très agréables et très propres. On n'avait pas vue sur mer mais la vue sur les jardins, les collines et la ville est très belle également. On recommande sans hésiter.

Parking de 15 places seulement et non controlé si client hotel donc toujours plein. Il faut se garer dans la rue , la ou ce n est pas prévu , avec risque d etre accroché car en stationnement genant. Hotel a eviter si on a une voiture pour eviter le tracas chaque jour pour trouver une place.

Topverblijf gehad! Heerlijke kamer vlakbij het zwembad. Prima faciliteiten. Ontbijt was uitgebreid en heerlijk!

I think there should be a shampoo and conditioner when it's a four star hotel. Had to buy in the store to be able to wash my long hair. The toilet seat was loose and rickety, had to reassemble it when it came off. Way too much bright lighting, no romantic cozy lighting. Otherwise very comfortable beds, pillows, towels, nice view of the sea from the balcony. Good breakfast, very good dinner in your restaurant!

Abbiamo cenato due volte presso l’hotel; il cibo era davvero ottimo. Vista mare dalla stanza molto bella come pure dalla piscina…per il resto purtroppo ci sono molte critiche da fare: ascensore principale + ascensore interno fuori uso - letti molto rumorosi e tutto molto datato.

Tolle Lage und sehr schöne Zimmer mit Meerblick. Nettes Personal und einen sehr schönen Außenbereich. Die Küche war auch hervorragend. Die Pfege der Bäder war nicht ausreichen da es durch den dunklen Boden sehr schnell zu Ablagerungen kommt die einfach schmutzig aussehen und nicht entfernt wurden. Gerade im Nassbereich und auf dem Balkon fehlten die Siliconfugen am Boden.

Zimmer mit Meeresblick war einfach herrlich. Das Fruehstuck empfehlenswert.

Hôtel avec une très bel vue, très bien situé pour visiter madère, les meubles de chambre mérite un rafraîchissement, pour la piscine intérieure les jet de massage ne fonctionnent plus, arrêt du spa du au covid 19 . Toute les mesures barrières sont respectées, petit déjeuner service à tables, personnel à l écoute et très agréable . Magnifique jardin .

Vi ville ha et bra hotell, men forholdsvis lite, og i et rolig område som lå i nærhet til sjøen og gangavstand til flere levadaruter. Og vi fikk oppfylt alle våre ønsker.

Descanso pleno

Ambiente calmo com excelentes vistas sobre o mar, centro da vila e que de noite se torna mágico, mais ainda com as luzes e decoração de natal. Perfeito para descomprimir e carregar energias bem positivas! Espaços verdes dos jardins bem cuidados, tornam este hotel muito envolvente e acolhedor. Conforto térmico dos quartos, muito bom, camas bastante confortáveis e bem espaçosas, assim como wc renovado, moderno e pratico com duche envidraçado em toda a volta e sem degraus ou desníveis.

Super Lage, leider bauartbedingt etwas hellhörig.

Prachtig hotel op een wondermooi eiland

Schitterende ligging en view.Kamer zonder zeezicht geboekt en betaald maar toch zeezicht. Uitstekend ontbijtbuffet. Supervriendelijk. Ideale ligging om het ganse eiland te bezichtigen.

Der Bar ist einen schönen, ruhigen Ort um zu verweilen und in der Sonne ein Apero zu geniessen. Auch das Restaurant hat uns sehr angetan, die Aussicht aus dem "Glaskubus" ist wunderbar. Wenn das Wetter noch mitgespielt hätte, wären wir gerne im Pool mit Aussicht getaucht, aber leider... Die Zimmer mit Seaview sind sehr schön, aber die mit Gartensicht (mit wunderschönen Blumen im Garten) sind auch zu geniessen. Das Städtchen Ponte da Sol hat seinen Charm.

Belles prestations, malheureusement trop bruyants

Bel hotel, la vue sur la mer et le coucher de soleil etait sublime. Les prestations (jaccuzi, piscine, billard, bar au coin du feu) ont été très appréciés lors de notre séjour. La chambre est spacieuse et confortable, mais la salle de bain un peu viellissante. Le gros point noir est l'insonorisation des chambres qui est complètement inexistante! Nous avons entendu des bébé pleurer toute les nuits les voisins aller au WC, sans parler du bruit des portes et des voix.

Estadia superba!! Excelentes vistas sobre o mar, jardins envolventes e áreas de lazer apraziveis com espreguiçadeiras acolchoadas nas quais se disfrutam a belíssima vista sobre o litoral sul!! Pequeno almoço variado e horário até às 11h excelente para quem ñ quer acordar cedo!! Tamanho do quarto acima do standard, com bastante espaço à volta da cama, que por sua vez tb é enorme!!! Bares com belíssimas vistas, ambiente romântico, hotel sossegado!! Música durante pequeno almoço e jantar, muito agradável em termos de " ambience". Piscina interior aquecida com óptima temperatura (32g) e piscina exterior com vista infinita sobre o mar, dão magia a 1 estadia aqui passada... A repetir certamente!!
