Decent 2 night stay

We stayed for 2 nights. The building, halls and bathrooms are dated but other than that- the staff was pleasant and location was decent. Hotel is in walking distance to many restaurants and mall but a little further from the Christmas markets and city than I would have liked however, still very walkable. There is a washer/dryer combo machine within the unit but it's for VERY small loads. We used the laundry mat next door which was very safe, clean, and much more efficient as we had several loads to do plus our coats. They did have water available at no additional cost which was a very nice touch. Room was also a bit warm but it was nice that we could open the windows.

Very fine location - 2 minutes to subway and large supermarket Suite is large and very comfortable Free still and sparkling water Wifi is ok 24 hours reception - good for late check-in Full hot breakfast Thank you so much for suite upgrade. One cons - only one lift and on the morning it was a little bit long waiting time, but overall - is excellent.

Excellent staff service, clean property, good location.

Liked that it was close to eating and shopping area. The rooms felt like an apartment with lots of room and clothes washer. We had a nice private courtyard.....wished we could have stayed more than one night.

Great, comfortable, and functional little hotel.

Escala is a tight efficient hotel right off of the Corvin Plaza. For the small footprint it provides a lot of comfort. Many units have partial kitchens and some even have working washing machines for clothes. The breakfast in the morning is worth it and staff are accommodating to guests from around the world. The hotel is a 4 block walk from Semmelweis Kliniknak M3 Metro Station which connects directly from the airport (and has a platform to surface elevator unlike Corvin). This has been a great hotel for our family on a number of occasions and we find ourselves returning to it whenever we come through Budapest.

Great hotel you can find everything you need, breakfast is amazing buffet. Staff are very helpful. Just beside a large shopping mall.

Wonderful stay. Exceptional hotel great location

We spent 3 nights here on a mini break. We used the airport mini bud transport which was great value and took us to the door. We received a warm welcome and had our room on the 6th floor. Super light and airy, huge bed, sofa , table and chairs full kitchen and even a washing machine. we were so pleased. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of eggs on request. We considered it very well located. just by the Corvin shopping centre and lots of eateres. There is a Chimney cake shop just around the corner lovely fresh and delicous, These cost 800 HUF. The nearer you got to the city and its attractions the dearer they became toppng off at 3500 HUF by the castle. Thsi highlights the exceptional value for being just 10-15 away from the main atrractions. We were so impressed with the Escala and would happily recommend

Great place - reasonable price & location

If you want to see Budapest, you might as well get use to public transportation & it's super easy to use. There is no one hotel that will put you near all the places worth visiting. With that said, this location works and prices are reasonable. Our family of 6 adults had just completed a bike trip. The tour company supplied a hotel where each couple had their own room for our 1st night. We spent our additional 3 days at the Escala in the 3 bedroom penthouse which was half the price of the 3 separate rooms at the other hotel. The place worked out very well for us. Great customer service too.

Good!

Very clean, with everything we needed. It was very quiet around our room. Staff were very helpful and approachable. There were bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk along with a shopping precint, and a 20 minute walk to the centre of Pest

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. It even had a washing machine. Housekeeping services were satisfactory. Overall our stay exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay again.

Roomy clean and quiet apartment. Breakfast was fantastic as well. The shopping centre just around the corner was convenient and has great food choices for those in the mood to eat close to the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and had a great restaurant to recommend for local cuisine. The location is not ideal but there was convenient access to public transport which is very easy using a day pass on an app.

The stuff were amazing always helpful especially Gabor at the reception and all the sweet ladies at the breakfast bar. Breakfast always was so delicious. Real Hungarian foods there. Only think I would suggest some furniture need to be updates. Location is perfect to everything in walking distance. We really liked our stay.

The property has gone down hill and it seems like it only about making $$$. The shopping mall that was there is closed and the escalators don’t even work. The lobby is a disaster, this hotel shares lobby with a hostile and it shows it. There was probably 30 people and 100 bags stacked in the tiny lobby. The staff was very nice and friendly. As for the room it needs to be some TLC. Half the lights didn’t work and the hot water would only get warm in 2 of the 3 bathroom. Layout and location of the room was amazing.

The staff was very accommodating and the room was wonderful. Great A/C, clean and large. Suited the 5 of us well. And the hotel was in walking distance to the market and most sites. We would highly recommend this hotel for location, the staff, the price and the breakfast which exceeded our expectations.

Aparthotel / suites near Corvin

This hotel is mainly a services apartment building with some hotel rooms available to guests. Location is central and very close to a new development in Districk 8, behind the Corvin Cinema with a lot of restaurants and bars. I think this hotel is especially suitable to visitors who are staying in Budapest for longer and would like to use the kitchen and other amenities in the suites. Breakfast is a bit basic but OK. Check-in a bit slow but staff were friendly and professional.

What a great place to be in. the center of everything staff was amazing great service the rooms were phenomenal. I’ll definitely will stay there next time.

Every employee of Escala that I interacted with was very pleasant, helpful, and professional. The location is great for walkability to shops and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable, and the deluxe studio is very well equipped.

Fine hotel, good breakfast, tight parking

This is a nice apartment hotel with all the necessary amenities. Staff seemed to be out of place, parking is tight. Breakfast was fine, the beds were uncomfortable though and the rooms were really cold (they did not heat up). The rooms were spacious and clean.

It was my forth visit in the hotel. Like the previous visits it was'nt dispointing.I'll be happy to come back in the future.

Great but the bed ruiend it.

The staff is respectful and friendly. The price was great for the size of the prtment/studio I enjoyed having the balcony for smoking but the view was blocked by another building (My room is in the 2nd flr). According to the pics in room description, the view is totally different which made me feel scammed. The worst thing was the bed. The bed frame is king size but the matrice was not. So they used 2 smaller matrices so you will feel the gap between the matrices. This made sleeping uncomfortable but I managed to have my own solution but won't work for a couple.

The apartment was a nice size just the halls were very dirty (carpeting & walls) not kept up. The breskfast area was a nice touch.

The property was definitely not 4 star - more like a 2 to 3 star. The hotel receiption area was no bigger than a broom closet. With only one elevator, getting up and down from your room was at times a very drawn out affair. Property had a gym as part of hotel listed on Expedia, however it was 150 m away and subject to extra fees. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was reasonable.

Great Place

The location was fantastic, staff was friendly and accommodating. The kitchenette and washing machine was so great to have. The only issue was our door handle was broken and came off every time we tried using the door.

Spacious room, and hotel is nearby 2 metro stations and shopping center.The room have good amenities. The bed is uncomfortable,and ventilation is not efficient as the smell of food in breakfast area in the second floor reaches the top floor.

Great location. Needs a refresh

Last stayed here three years ago. Still a good place to stay but is very close to needing a refresh.

First-rate staff, at front desk, in dining room. Beautiful rooms kept sparkling clean. Solid hardware, private balcony. Ample convivial breakfast. Attentive to all our needs, including directions and early morning taxi. Highly recommend.

Excellent Aparthotel n Budapest +++

Excellent place to stay and great staff. Very good clean and serviced rooms. Highly recommended if you are visiting Budapest for pleasure or business. Places to eat and shopping mall very near by. Don't be put off by outward appearance. Some rooms with balcony well worth a bit extra.

great Hotel

I have stayed at this hotel twice now during my business trips to Budapest. the location is great and the rooms are very spacious and clean. I plan on staying with them again on any return trips to Budapest. the concierge was very helpful upon check in with arrangement of a private car city tour that was excellent. would and have definitely recommend.

Absolute value for money. Spacious apartment and conveniently located to restaurants and the mall. A 10 minute walk to the nearest metro.

Lovely apartment hotel in Budapest

Everything in proper working order, very clean and represented by knowledgeable, helpful staff. We want to especially praise Gergo, who was patience personified when dealing with a very challenging customer. He was always unruffled, and immensely professional. We also appreciated Alain Goetschel, the Manager, who personally ensured that residents were satisfied with their Fraser experience. Again, attention to the clientele was first class. Breakfasts were enjoyable, the hotel's position in the city is reasonably adequate for walking, with the Metro and bus service nearby. We will definitely look to use a Fraser Residence in future.

WOW!!! one of the best places I've been

Lovely hotel! Rooms are large, beautifully furnished and very well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful in everything, including accepting us for breakfast early on our departure day. Breakfast spread is great and varied, including fresh apple juice and the best coffee. Location is close to metro and very quiet. Really nothing bad can be said about this hotel!

Nice place for a night stay

The hotel was pretty basic, no lobby, the rooms are big (like an apartment), the service was not so great. the area is a bit far from the center and except the nearby shopping center, it was not as fun to walk nearby

It was ok, nothing to rave about, just ok. Wouldn't stay there again, would try somewhere different if we were ever to go back.

3 star and not four!!

Location is great, staff are very helpful, but I would give this hotel 3 star, only because rooms weren't very clean, old furnitures too. There was a problem with my room and they upgraded me to a better room, but even that room wasn't great. I love the city, if I ever go back again, I will not stay at this hotel. cleanliness is very important to me. I travel often and I have been to 4 or 5 star hotels, this isn't a 4 star hotel.

A bit far from metro

it is a bit far from city centre, the street walking from metro station to the residence building is dusty. However, Fraser maintains its building blocks and rooms very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very delicious.

Spacious, well appointed rooms, with full kitchen, eating and living areas. Very close to a square with shops & a shopping centre. Walking distance to Great Market Hall and short walk to Metro. Reception staff very friendly & helpful. Highly recommend.

Fraser Residence - Disappointed

Budapest is a truly amazing city. As for the Fraser Residence being 5 star... I have to differ. I rarely complain but this time I feel the need to. I requested a King bed in my Hotels.com booking but was told this information doesn't get passed to the Fraser. I ended up with a twin pushed together that kept moving apart. The handle on a cupboard where the safe was kept was loose and I then noticed our apartment door handle was loose and it came off in my hand! I asked if the place had an English plug converter but they had run out. Surely a 5 star establishment would keep these with enough for every room as a matter of course? The washer malfunctioned and 10 minutes before the end of a cycle wouldn't rinse or spin, so on our last night, we ended up washing our clothes by hand and hoping they would dry in time. Staff were friendly and helpful but sadly, I won't be going back as I could have had a better experience for what I spent.

Nice apartment needs a little updating. Close to Corvin plaza. For first time visitors wished we would have stayed closer to the City Center.

Quiet clean hotel near town centre

Fantastic facilities in the room, very clean, comfortable. Hotel near underground station and 5min from modern shopping centre. Staff was very polite.

Fraser Residence offered a very spacious and clean room with kitchen for our stay. The location is conveniently located close to 2 metro stops, a grocery store, mall and a few fast food places. It is also within walking distance of many local attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and found the staff to be helpful and pleasant.

Reception not friendly or helpful - refuses to allow a card key for each person, asked if they have stitching kit and they said they cannot provide, etc Breakfast staff were very friendly

Nice hotel with friendly staff

Greeted with a smile and felt welcome. The room was lovely and spacious. All the staff were friendly and me and my daughter were always greeted with a smile and a hello when passing by in the corridor. The manager also introduced himself at breakfast - which was a first - and a lovely gesture. Continental breakfast was good too. Free wifi - an added bonus for my daughter.

Very spacious

The hotel is 4-5 stops by metro from the city center, but it is easy to reach all areas and well located on the line coming in from the airport. There is a mall / shopping center close by but not many restaurants. Supermarkets are near by if you need anything. Water good quality and safe to drink. Great breakfast and very good coffee, only drawback was that the rooms are only ready by 3.00 pm, but that is clear from the web page.

Nice apartment in a good location would stay again

It was a loverly apartment with all the facilities you need to make main meals. We have stayed in some places were you haven't had this even though they were apartments so very pleased. Good location in budapest we like to walk so it's good for that but if your not a walker it's close to the metro bus stop and tram stop. Lovely places to eat and shop really close near by. Only negatives breakfast isn't great but it's not terrible ethier it just sort of is. And our bed wasn't the best. But had worse so all in not a big deal. I would stay at one of thier hotels/apartments again.

Large, light, airy 2 bedroom apartment

We stayed here with friends at the end of a 2 week river cruise. There was more than enough room for the 4 of us and the room facilities were perfect for us. We would not hesitate to stay here on a return visit.

Beautiful Hotel easy access to city

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are so clean and airy. We had the 2 bedroom which actually catered for 5 of us, myself and husband had a lovely huge bedroom and our children had a bedroom with 2 single beds and in the live in lounge / kitchen there was another bed put up for our other child this did not impact on any space as the lounge / kitchen area is very big. We also had breakfast there which was all fresh fruit and breads, meat and cheese (no hot food) you could cater for yourselves as the kitchen they have in the rooms is well equipped (microwave, kettle, large fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, sink). The hotel was a 3-5 minute walk to the metro station which takes you into Budapest in about 10 mins, you could walk but very hot when we were there. The area around is very quiet. This has to be one of my favourite hotels to stay and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of visiting Budapest.

Looks smaller in reality

Overall OK. However, the wall in my room was dirty and the hair dryer was broken (only cold air and no hot air).

Delightful apartment in a handy location.

We had an excellent stay at the Fraser residences. The apartment was modern, sparkling clean and well equipped. The location is perfect with a small square nearby, a shopping centre and easy access to the metro. Breakfast each morning in the garden was delightful.

Large and clean rooms

We were three generations staying at Frasers. Everybody liked it very much. Some restaurants and a shoppingsenter right outside. Would have prefered it to be closer to sentrum, but it was only a 15 min walk.

First time in Budapest :)

It was my first time in Budapest and I stayed there only one night, overall was ok if compare with the price ), hotel staff were quite helpful. but the location was not that I expected from the photos (I thought I would be able to see some nice scenery...but it was not anything interesting around that place), it would be more suitable for business trip or with a group of friends (as they provide kitchen stuff that you can cook, and the room is quite spacious, if you can book for the top floor that might be better) and the location is a bit out of the central area, all surrounded with old buildings (personal comments - a bit too haunted for me), you need to take a cab or train...but it was great experience for something different from the central area. P

Gives a traveller everything they need

The Fraser Residence provides an apartment or efficiency arrangement. Everything worked very nicely and the included breakfast was great. The front of the hotel does not look impressive at all and the area immediately in front of the hotel is going through a transition - building is going on nearby. However, a block around the corner is a modern urban shopping area.

Beautiful hotel, very well located, clean, very helpful staff, and the bedroom is not a bedroom, it is a beautiful apartment equipped with anything you could need for a pleasant staying.

Nice hotel ideal for a short city stay

Booked on the basis of very positive reviews. Our experiences confirm them. Staff were very helpful. A nice touch was the Manager visited tables at breakfast to check we were happy and had no issues. Location is quite good, walking distance of the city centre. Metro station close by. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, including a Michelin star establishment in a side street about 10 minutes walk away.

Enjoyed this Hotel

Budapest was our base location during our 10 day stay in Europe. We also traveled to Slovakia and Austria. The Fraser felt like home. We had a 1 bedroom apartment and loved the layout. It was an easy walk to the metro....helpful hint: you can walk through the Corvin Mall to get to the metro even when the mall is closed. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The King bed was very comfortable!

Excellent Hotel

The hotel is little hard to find but it is within walking distance from 2 metro station. About 3km from main rail station and if you are taking the taxi from station, be sure you know what their charges going to be. Taxi will cost abt 1500 in local money or abt 5-7 euro but some taxi driver charge upto 6500 in local money or upto 25 euro from tourist. If you are exchanging currency, do it outside the station as it will be better rate than inside.

Hidden problems

We had a two bedrooms apartment. When we checked in around 3PM we noticed a bad smell in the bathroom. We were in a hurry and hoped the smell would dissipate by the time we got back. On our return the smell was still there but by then the hotel was full and we were told there were no other rooms available. We complained at the reception and to the manager. By the time we left two days later the problem hadn’t been solved and all the maintenance guy offered us was a spray of air freshener. Which obviously was useless since the problem was a plumbing problem. This was a major turn down for us. At the price they charge having a bathroom that smells like the dirtiest of public washrooms is unacceptable. The bedrooms were very small. If planning on visiting Budapest by foot the walk to the nearest metro is along Ulloi ut which is a large desolate boulevard with mostly rundown buildings, small neglected or vacant shops.You feel miles away from the beautiful and lively city center.

Wonderful appartment with great breakfast

The room we stayed in was spacious, modern bright and clean. The bed was very comfy, even if the double bed was tw single beds pushed together there was at least a mattress topper. The bathroom is nicely furnished and well kept. Can't ask for more from the room, just like the pictures. The breakfast was very tasty and worth the small extra cost, different freshly squeezed juices every morning and good coffee.

Well located, high-quality serviced apartments

This complex of smart serviced apartments is very good indeed. We had been allocated (upgraded to) a deluxe suite, so we had the benefit of more space, two bedrooms (although we used only one) and every convenience we could possibly need. The morning breakfast buffet was very good too, and the Manager spent time with most of the guests courteously welcoming us and ensuring our stay was good. This would be ideal for a longer term stay, especially if you're working in Budapest for several weeks. The apartment would be an ideal base.

Great value

The hotel is well located, 6 stops from the airport station and 2 stops from the centre on the metro, though we often strolled in which took 15 mins. There's a shopping centre 200m away which sells everything which was handy. The hotel is constantly being cleaned and the staff were all friendly. Breakfast is continental but a good choice. They make a different daily fresh juice shot for guests was were nice, although I'd avoid the cucumber one next time! The room was a great size with everything you need, quiet, and was really warm in mid winter, which is much appreciated as most bars and restaurants don't have heating. The only downside for me was the bed was very firm, but it was fine for our 3 nights.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was perfect. Staff were friendly, it was very clean, spacious, comfy. I couldn't say one bad thing about this place. I will always try and find a good offer with this company before any other in the future. Thank you

A great apartment hotel

The hotel is great. It is a 5-10 minutes walk from the underground station. Close by is the Museum of Applied Art. Actually it only takes around 30 minutes to walk to the Central market. Around the corner is a big shopping mall and there is a Western Union for currency exchange.
