Very good hotel to discover
A wonderfull hotel, in the most popular area in Marrakech
Location and hospitalities best breakfast and others
We just returned from a lovely few days over New Year in Marrakech. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. After reading others reviews, we managed our expectations for the hotel and enjoyed our stay there. The positives: the location is great as close enough to the Medina to walk to but in a nice quiet area; the staff were friendly; everywhere was clean; the pool area was lovely; the beds were comfy; shower was hot and strong; the food you could order in the restaurants (which appeared to be the same food in 3 of the 4 restaurants) was good and varied. The negatives: the buffet breakfast was really very bad; the tv and ac/heating in the room did not work; there were not enough towels in the room (we were 3 in the room but only given 2 towels, despite asking for more) and no facility to make hot drinks in the room, which I wanted as it was a cold time of year, and the plumbing in the rooms was very noisy. But, on the whole, we had a great stay in Marrakech and thank you to the hotel for hosting us.
Amazing location and good staff But wifi is terrible and so is food. Hardly ny breakfast options
Food was appalling and cold. Not a lot of choice. Room wasn't very clean. The spa area was so old and shabby not a place id want to relax in.
Nice hospitality.
Good location but the property is quite outdated needs a full refurbishment
Good if you don't want to be inside the Medina
It's a good hotel for staying in the new part of the city, but the installations need a reform. Breakfast was good and varied and the bed was good, but the morrocan custom of smoking in rooms is a problem. Bathroom is alright but water pressure could be better. The staff were nice and very helpful! The pool looks good but we didn't have time to use it, but it certainly was a miss from us as we had to leave earlier than expected.
The room was not as good as the pictures showed on their website. The room was very too basic with old curtains and basic beds and I was overpriced. The shower curtains are too old and dirty. The swimming pool is very basic. The best thing I found there was the service given from the restaurant. The majority of people working there are very friendly and welcoming. They really looked after us.
The Pool was nice and clean
It was a terrible experience, the staff at the front desk was horrible time to check in, everything in the room was not working. Fausset, sink, toilet, etc.. will never stay there again
Basic hotel from 1950s. Breakfast was great, everything else was ok - staff were terrible, sour faces, and had asked for room service which took over an hour - even after my husband went to reception 3 times, and was told to "go back to your room" by the guy there. We ended up moving to another hotel, and would not recommend this one at all. Pool was also really dirty, scum 20cm along the sides, things floating in it, and slimy on the bottom.
Lovely place to stay, feiendly staff excellent customer service.
The property was clean and the staff quite polite.Except for the beddings that were not regularly changed.
Food is not good enough
This is a decent hotel in a good location
Great customer service and convenient for shopping, food was good, very welcoming, easy access to amenities and shopping facilities, entertainment places are everywhere near the hotel.
Great service they made us feel so welcomed and happy, they tried their best to accommodate any requests and even upgrade my room to pool view at no charge. I stay in this property every time I am in merrakech because it’s convenient and walking distance to everything.
The outdoor coffee shop is nice, friendly staff, very relaxing atmosphere. Be sure tou get to know most of the waiting stuff, and most important be sure you get acquainted withtheir hostesses miss Oiam.
El Andualous
Convenient location in the new town close to malls etc. Front desk staff were very helpful. WIFI was pretty hit and miss. The pool area is nice but could maybe have more shade. We had a nice meal outside at the terrace restaurant although service could have been quicker. would maybe have been less haphazard if Morocco hadnt been playing football on the TV. Breakfast was a bit understaffed with long ques at cooking stations and towards the end of service a lot of items had run out.
After a 3 day sahara adventure I fell extremely ill. The hotel looked for a doctor for me and eventually ran to the pharmacy to put up my antbx.
I like everything, staff , service .......
Great place
Tres bon hotel, personnel au top, propreté impeccable, le seul bémol est l'alcool qui coute cher.
Upscale a taste of the old and new.
Very Nice Hotel….. it was a mixture of old and new. Enjoyed it very much, especially the breakfast service people. They were very friendly and proactively helpful.
Great location
Overall, this hotel offers a fantastic location and excellent staff. However, the experience is marred by the terrible AC noise in the bedrooms, as well as the lack of sound insulation that allows guests to hear neighbors showering or flushing toilets.
On average
Loud music from the restaurant/club next door not good for when you’re trying to sleep
Very comfortable stay.
Good
A wonderful stay , perfect location . Rooms bit dated but worked.
I recently stayed here and had the worst service in my whole entire life! the guys at the front of house in reception were just terrible. I paid upon arrival for my booking and then paid separate in cash for the city taxes. Whilst my stay the staff in reception called my room constantly asking me to confirm my reservation, the staff even opened my room door to ask me the same question at 08:30am the next morning whilst I was sleeping. I was not happy also the night before hand a women randomly at night tried to enter my room claiming it was her room given to her by the reception. Again I was not happy that a random women tried to enter my room. Each time I passed the reception they asked me to pay the city taxes which I already paid in addition to my room booking on arrival in cash 33dhs.The constant errors by the reception team was unforgivable, not professional! When I asked for a manager they made me wait 2 hours in the lobby, however nobody ever came to me to listen to my issues so I just left to hotel. The reception staff are liars and will cover for each other lies beware! Don’t bother staying here there was too many issues with service and staff. I waited 1 hour for an iron one day and also room service never answered my calls, i had to go downstairs to the bar to pay for the water. Honestly do not waste your money to stay here! The way the staff constantly called me and entered my room really made me feel uncomfortable it felt like harassment! Very unprofessional
El Andalous is an aging hotel that could use some serious renovations and upgrades to the rooms and public areas. It’s a walkable distance to Jemaa El Fna and has a very large outdoor pool with bar service. The buffet breakfast is good and it’s nice to see they don’t scrimp on serving large quantities of delicious freshly squeezed orange juice.
Lovely property, very clean with a nice big pool. There is however limited amount of beds by the pool so you need yo go early to save a bed. Reception staff is very helpful and friendly and will print a boarding pass for you for the flight back. The breakfast has great selection of pastries but other food selection isn’t great. The roadworks around the hotel meant being woken up by drilling every day so not very pleasant. The wifi in the hotel is also pretty bad
The reception was terrible, so slow even if you reserved days before still have to wait crasy
Customer service terrible it took them 2 days to bring me the batteries for the remote control. The rooms are outdated and could use some renovation. Towels are very old. No body lotion provided. You will need to put 100 DH for each towel at the pool as safe deposit. Some staff are nice but some needs some trainings on how to treat their gusts.
The location was great
I do recommend this hotel wonderful place to stay and spend very good time
Nice size room, all facilities worked well. Great staff. Nice pool
Wonderful hotel in the heart of the medina. Beautiful historic building and nice rooms. Perfect location for visiting the medina and a short walk to the Corniche/beach. Many restaurants right nearby. Breakfast is decent, but not the highlight. The staff are wonderful and all are fluent in Arabic, French, and Spanish and although not all of the staff are fluent in English, most also speak some. They are also very helpful in arranging taxis for you. But the one negative is that it is loud. Being right in the heart of the old quarter in a city that stays up late means that it can be a bit loud until midnight or even later. But that's really the only negative.
Very nice location and friendly staff!
Happy for this stay and i want to do it again
I enjoyed my stay here. My observations; The Hotel was ok, the rooms are comfortable and kept clean. I noted that they don't give shampoo and drinking water. The hotel location is good, it is near the Palais De congress, which was good. It is also near the Menara Mall which has a supermarket and restaurants. The hotel has a variety of restaurants and a club. The Gym is small, few machines and free weights (enough for a basic workout) but hotel residents have to pay for it $9 per session- which i found odd - why don't you include it as the room fee? and then it opens at 9am - 9pm, which may not work for people who are here for work and prefer a morning workout. The breakfast is good - it has a variety of things, and as a foreigner, i was happy to try local foods - the Moroccan crepe is like Chapati, soft and layered - its so nice! Their Mint tea is very refreshing. The menu was the same for the 7 days I was there, I recommend changing it up a bit, even though many clients may stay one or two days. the service was good, their staff are very friendly and helpful, which helped.
Lovely old fashioned hotel. Beds were VERY firm. A/C dripped, but it worked great. Gorgeous pool but didn’t swim. Lovely breakfast. Nice service.
Staff are brilliant friendly and always ready to help, but the hotel needs a deep clean from top to bottom.
Old hotel , service was correct , but is not as 4 star hotel, old instalatiin without renovation , we miuved to an other jotel after 3 nights , and the new ine was as pic shows nit like this one, pic are bulshiit
Ok experience
Mostly an amazing experience. The food was pricey so my advice is to go out and eat much cheaper. The room had a smell and ironing service was terrible so just take your own iron lol.
The overall experience was not good, my husband and I were forced to sleep on a different bed because the hotel could not get us a king/queen size bed room (note that the room was reserved in October 2019 for two nights in Jan 1 &2 2020). Not sure how much more notice would have qualified us to get a decent king or even queen size room! We were told we would get another room the next day but we were literally ignored the next morning-not so great service. However, one of the staff member was very king to us (greeted us at the taxi, took our luggage in our room, would even open the door every time he would see us coming).
disappointed
This would be our first trip to Morocco and this hotel looked so nice , ideal to want we were looking for It looked beautiful to me on the pictures and I was hoping that I would enjoyed a Relaxed stay But it became a nightmare after i checked in please to anyone do not stay at this hotel please I repeat : do not stay at this hotel in Marakesh Morocco. For this price you can get other hotels or newer hotels with a better accommodations This booking at the El andalous lounge and spa hotel was a huge mistake ad i end up loosing my money on the booking because of their policy. I have no words to describe how people can fool others by placing outdated pictures on a hotel site as famous as hotel.com but it needs to be put out because I booked this hotel for six nights and I even booked two rooms to be comfortable because on hotels.com I saw all these beautiful pictures of beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms of this hotel El andalous but definitely this hotel is in desperate need for renovation. Specially the bedrooms and bathrooms and the pool area. So please people do not be fooled by pictures I was fooled by outdated pictures but the real thing is different as soon as I arrived not even stepping inside I was asking my daughters if this was the right hotel ?? Did the taxi driver drop us somewhere else ?? I couldn’t believe that this was the hotel I booked !! At the front desk the first thing I asked the receptionist was if this was the el andalous hotel lounge and spa?
Everything was very bad and dont like staff service very bad
This was a nice hotel and the rooms are very nice clean. All the employees were nice with the exception of the front desk. Rude, condescending and not helpful at all. I asked for guidance for my lost luggage and basically was told to go the airport -- I had just come from the airport. My keycard did not work, after my 5th time of going down was told not to come down anymore and to ask a cleaning person for help going into my room. Also, he blamed me for the issue. The next day, another guest had the same problem as me and was given a regular key which I asked for the same and received -- why did he not do this the day before???? When my card got eaten by the ATM and I went and reported it; I just got a shoulder shrug and Madame it's Sunday. I just wanted them to put a sign so someone else did not have the same problem. It's too bad, because it was a nice place to stay, but I would never go back and get treated poorly like this again.
The pool is good and the breakfast was decent. Check in was good but the room was ran down and not clean. The show curtain had blood all over and the room seemed old and in need of updating, along with the air conditioner not working in our room. The one good thing was the beds weren’t totally like sleeping on concrete like the other beds in Morocco and it looks pretty good from the outside. Just a side note if this is the first time going to Morocco every person will ask you if it’s your first time and then try to take advantage of you! So much pressure and price hiking for tourists! Rule of thumb only pay 1/3 of what they start with... They are masters of ripping you off and acting like jerks!!!
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful Pool is nice, Spa was good as I got a massage Rooms are clean No WiFi access in the lobby but you have WiFi in your room
I used to go to this hotel back in the 80s and 90s. Unfortunately, it’s become a run down property, breakfast is just ok, service is below ok. Asked for a pool towel and was asked to pay 100 dirhams ($10) as a refundable deposit to get a towel, but other guests were handed towels without paying a deposit. Go figure! The only good thing about the hotel is its location
Room needs some updating. But overall hotel was nice.
un séjour formidable
C’était un séjour formidable dans un grand Hotel au sens vrai du terme,le chambre sont larges et propre,le service était à la hauteur,et les employers étaient très aimable.
After putting up with the poor service for two nights, I did not feel like they could look after my best interests, I insisted on checking out. I found another hotel on Expedia and moved the same morning.
Ok for the price
Stayed with my family of 2 adults and 2 children, check in was quick our room was provided at 12 o’clock well before the check in time of 2pm. I would give this hotel 3 stars as no kettle or bottled water was provided which was quite unexpected also room was smaller then usual. Swimming pool was excellent, breakfast was ok, hotel is well decorated throughout, exchange rate was good. We requested a quiet room as we had children which was provided, we paid £126 for 2 nights.
So nice to be able to stay by the pool even after check-out, waiting to go to the airport! Also, a nice spa-department! A big, nice hotel, although a bit faded. The bed could have been a bit more comfy.
Its clean just when i flushed the toilet it was noisy.
I only stayed here for a couple of days after trekking, so the hotel was only a base. However, the rooms were dated and a little dirty. Especially the bathroom. We had issues with the shower, the plugs and had to ask for towel replacements, safe didn’t work. The food took a very long time to arrive at lunch and even for the order wrong and missed items from my friends order. If it’s just a base hotel that you want then this hotel will suffice, if you are using it as a holiday destination then I would perhaps consider another alternative.
Bad wifi and pretty ordinary customer service
Front desk staff very moody on arrival. Breakfast lacks variety. Room has no toiletries. No duvet cover on one bed! No toilet roll for two days even after repeatedly asking! Spa facilities were very average! However, beds are comfortable and location is very good! The doormen and the hotel dog were always very welcoming!
This is my first trip to Marrakech. This hotel has great free buffet breakfast. But there was nothing in the bathroom when I checked in. I called the room services and received some bath towels. But there is no shampoo or condition or tissue paper in the room There is only one big liquid soap and a couple of solid soaps provided.
Average hotel but good location
Very good location but hotel is very dated, it needs a good lick of paint everywhere! I wasnt too impressed with the conditions of the toilet/ bathroom. im not keen on separate toilets and bathrooms but that's my opinion. No tea/coffee facilities in room and very basic room even If it is a large triple family room. I would say the location was really good as there is a mall 5 minutes walk away and lots of nice restaurants and shops. Train station is a good 35 minute walk and If the weather is nice it's a nice walk.
Very welcoming and nice ambience . Most importante thing good location
Hotel in Marrakech
Very good hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean swimming pool, nice and quiet location outside the city centre, excursions can be booked on site, breakfast with early check-out possible, currency exchange possible without any Problems,Wi-Fi and additional mobile phone (local phone and internet) included.
Worse breakfast and dinner , no soap and shampoo The room is no clean worse reception . They give you minimu towels.
Excellent service very clean and. Close to town and local transport the staff was very helpful I would go again
Reception unfriendly/rude. Not clear money to be paid on departure. Sink didnt drain. Very noisy. No toilet paper/broken.
A Haven in Marrakesh
We found the rooms clean and very comfortable with air conditioning for cooling/heating. You may have to request extra towels and toilet paper. There are no kettles in the room, however this is normal in Morocco. The area is upmarket and quiet, but still close to restaurants and cafes, The Médina is about a 20 minute walk. Day trips are arranged by the hotel to various places such as the Atlas Mountains. After visiting many different places in Morocco we would definitely return to this hotel.
Pleasant place to stay
Safe and convenient location, about a 20 minute walk to the Médina and 20 mins to the train and bus terminal
Nice hotel, it was a good location, staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Nice and clean friendly staff good breakfast recommended to go again
Hotel was clean and pleasant to stay in. What let it down was the unhelpfullnes of the staff. Also at breakfast items were not replenished and when you ask they disappeared and never came back. Choice was also lacking.
Poor
I will never go back to this hotel I book a double room my friend coudnt come so I was in my own but when I left they still charge me for 2 people city text. Slow service and people are not friendly plus the hotel it's mutch more expensive to eat and drink than any other people outside
The rooms were spacious. Clean and the beds comfortable. The furniture a bit worn out. The AC never worked and a request for new batteries never happened but for the price good enough. Good breakfast. Good location. Noisy disco music on Thursday nights.
Facilities were old but enjoyed the stay in clean comfortable room.
Pleasant stay
Rooms were good, facilities were OK and it was good for a rest after some hectic weeks in Europe Space in the room was appreciated, but staff could have been a bit more helpful
Both Quite good and Really Terrible
Hotel is in a great location, pool is good and nice extensive breakfast buffet. BUT, we arrived at 10.30pm to be told that due to a flood they didn't have enough rooms so we would have to share with two strangers, one of whom was a man ( I was with my daughter). The reception manager was rude and aggressive and said if we didn't like it we could go and find ourselves another hotel and we'd have to pay for that as well. As we were tired after a long journey and had no knowledge of the city, we stayed . They promised our room would be available from 9am the next day - it wasn't - we eventually got it that afternoon but with no towels of pillowcases. They gave us fold out children's beds with no covers and we had to use the bath towels as blankets. I said I felt that they should offer us some compensation - a free dinner in the hotel - and they agreed they would speak to the patron. Every day of the holiday thereafter I asked for a response and they said they would speak to the patron tomorrow. Eventually, on our last night, they said we could have a free meal but only in the bar and not until after 9.30pm. They were rude and dismissive. The TV in the rooms doesn't work either. For 3 days I asked for it to be fixed and eventually they said it never works so there is no point in them trying to fix it. The wifi in the rooms doesn't work either. Customer service zero! Their attitude spoilt our stay.
Rooms were not cleaned from last stay. Just horrible. I had to try 4 rooms before finding one that was being cleaned.... Had to tip the maids to be served first.
Great hotel, nicely situated, great pool. Room was clean!
Hotel location
Bad experience unfortunately . Hotel needs renovation badly. Stuff are rude. Except cleaner's they are helpful and lovely. Am not staying in this hotel again. ...
Nice hotel
A traditional style hotel with an outdoor pool, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was pretty decent. Change money elsewhere as their rates are slightly lower. Hotel is a bit dated, my balcony had bird droppings on it. It should be included in the daily cleaning.
Great for families. It feels safe specially if it’s your visit in Morroco. Fair prices. Close proximity to everything. The staff were super nice. Would definitely recommend this place
Nice and tasteful breakfast, nice room hard bed friendly staff beautiful garden
Is very nice
I love the hotel my family was like is well it’s very good
Nice environment
Great place to stay
Non friendly staff / poor room facilities
I had a number of issues. Firstly my flight was early. When I went to the hotel I asked if it was possible to check in early ( checkin time 2pm). They said yes but the room wasn’t ready. I said that’s fine. I left my luggage and went out for an hour. When I came back they said the room was ready. They gave me the keys, when I went up the room was messy it wasn’t cleaned up after the last guests. I went down stairs to tell them. They said they would send someone up. Waited 20 miniature but they didn’t. Went back down to ask. It took 3 attempts running up n down to get someone to clean the room. By that time it was 2.30 pm. Also the safe in the room wasn’t working. I went reception to ask someone how to use it. They said they will send someone. The person came at 9 in the evening. They couldn’t fix it, and just left saying it’s not working. Cleaning ladies entered the room even though we did not leave the sign to clean. The day before my checkout I asked one of the person if they could help me with weighing my luggage and if they had a weighing machine. The person told me you want me to help you carry your luggage. I said no I wanted to weigh it. I believe there was a little miscommunication as the person did not understand English, but his mannerisms and response where poor. I believe he thought I was asking him to take my luggage to the taxi. Firstly he said ask the taxi driver. It’s not his job as in he was to important. Overall experience poor. wouldn’t go back.
Location nothing more
I stayed there for 4 nights with my husband. we booked via hotel.com. the check in was a bit slow but they ended up accepting us before checkin time ( 2hours before).here the experience begins:- dusty and old furniture you can even see some stains on the bed frame, and pillow. Bathroom products are missing, only thing available is the soap. no iron thus forced to use the laundry service. Extremely poor Wi-Fi, the breakfast very mediocre, slow refill. Dont expect to sleep peacefully not before 3AM. they have Lacasa Lounge and marriage reception downstairs. dont book here if you want to relax. THE VERY SHOCKING PART WAS CHECKING OUT: they asked us to pay the city taxes . for 4 days they charged us 147 EUR. i was shocked. i went back to my email confirmation from hotel.com. the only taxes we suppose to pay is 17DH per person a day. total of 132DH around 14EUR. 10x the difference...I REPEAT BIG DIFFERENCE (THIEVES). i explained to him he understood we ended up paying 14Eur. you have to be careful with every payment. people can be thieves even in professional places.
has dirty rooms
we arrived very late and they gave us room on 3rd floor that was dirty, bad sheets has mark and when i show to luggage person, he said but it is clean.. next day we got room on 5th floor that is clean so get a room on 5th floor if you stay in this room they don't even put cheese out for breakfast.
Nice location BUT!!!
This hotel neeeds huge revamp!! Very outdated bathroom almost shower hanging out from de wall.. Same with me i notice all guest facing problem with their cards to open door its like u stading there pushing ur card in n out the reader yet it dont open!!!! Thats a must need to look into!! Breakfast was super disappointment sigh.. I stayed in same road last time so i know de area very well thts why i stayed at Andalous. Location is great just by de New modern mall also just a very short/cheap taxi ride to medina. I wud come back only fr the location and maybe pool but overral very poor service and front desk people need to greet people or least smile ..
Hotel room was not bad Internet service bad Breakfast and lunch both are bad
Nice Hotel, friendly staff.
This hotel was perfect for our stay. The staff were friendly and polite. The location of the hotel is a bit far from the square, but we didn't mind the walk. The rooms are in need of an update but it didnt bother us. The beds were comfortable, the ac was cold, and the room was really clean. The breakfast was good and plentiful....but beware it is typical traditional Moroccan breakfast, there was an omlet station there as well. The area by the pool was nice and relaxing with good music playing. The spa services were good as well. The services provided and the price were very good. This hotel also had a piano hookah bar and a nightclub, both were nice and relaxing. Overall we had a great time.
My Morrocon dream getaway
I was comfortable staying at el Andalous for a four night getaway but they need to give that hotel some TLC. They r very frugal ppl with low maintenance of their hotel. I liked the room and the balcony but the air conditioner was not the best and the magnetic key took forever to open the door. Safe neighborhood. If u like walking then it is perfect walking distance to most sights. The best was breakfast and the Hammam massage.
Nice and quiet hotel
We chose this hotel as it had a bar facility and was away from all the hustle and bustle in the town centre. We went one evening for a drink in the bar and there was not many options at first we found it funny as all we had was malibu and coke but then by the next day he ran out and again we couldn't help but laugh, they did run out of pasta but its ok we didn't starve. The staff were very friendly and they tried to speak in English and accommodate our needs. The pictures are a bit old and don't really show a true image of the hotel however it was a nice break away.
stay again
we stayed here again as it was good value for money for the family
a pleasant enough stay
on the whole very nice, and pleasant staff, however we were asked to pay taxes that we had already paid for? Food was ok but unrelianble
Does what is says
On the whole very nice, and pleasant staff
