It’s a nice place to stay
Very good
The room was clean and well put together. It did a great job of providing a place to sleep for a night.
The room had no heater it was cold.
Check in an out in less the 30 mins
The room was dirty cobwebs dirty used bandages. The restroom look like it was just spot cleaned toilet had marks in it like was just used . The door jam has marks like it was kicked in at some point and the did a bad job repairing it. The window was so dirty. The refrigerator was so iced over.
friendly staff
There was no water and owner didn’t want to do anything about it
Bugs
This is an example of exactly how you will suffer for saving money. I reserved this hotel because it was only 5 minutes from a bodybuilding event that we both competed in this weekend. It was in the 40’s and their heater only blew out cold air and their hair dryer did not work. My poor soulmate was freezing and she had to sleep with her coat and clothes on. My body went into violent cramping last night because of exhaustion from the competition and the coldness of the room. The hotel attendant came and verified that the heater did not work and he offered for us to use the next room but we were too exhausted to do so. The only saving grace was that they had hot water but my poor gf had wet hair due to a broken hair dryer! This was our worst hotel experience together because my soulmate suffered because of the lack of heat.
Came to visit my daughter who is stationed in San Antonio. The room was clean, yet no coffee pot to make coffee in the room. The refrigerator made a ticking sound so at night I unplugged it. Need new towels…the ones available could be donated to a group for car washes. Other than that, it is convenient and close to base.
Other people underwear in the drawers and roaches tub was not cleaned
Although the accommodations were close to our event the room didn't measure up. The room did not have the clean smell, might have been an animal friendly room.
One of the drawers were not cleaned and had a bunch of garbage and crumbs of some sort from previous stay but staff were quick to come in and clean after being made aware. Staff were nice and respectful.
It is really close to Fort Sam Houston base. Literally less than 5 minutes. Fast food restaurants are close, too.
The people working there were very nice
Receptionist was very nice! Overall good experience.
It was next to expressway
Good Budget Hotel
Good basic economy hotel. No frills but good for a night or to on a budget. Was close to my destination. Does have a minimal complementary breakfast.
Would not stay again
Very patient front desk
Just near Fort Sam Houston
Staff was friendly and enjoyed the stay
The hotel was across the street from the center I needed to visit.
It served its purpose
Clean and friendly
Very quiet, comfortable. Staff is very helpful.
Room appeared clean. But its not. The pull out couch had a used bed sheet still on it. Then when we were leaving I pulled all the bed sheets off and the waterroof mattress covered hadnt been changed looks like months. Had tons of crumbs. Blood stains and yellow stains. Just nasty and cant believe we slept on that sheet. It was covered by another sheet so we didnt see it until I pulled all the sheets off. You get what you pay for. Cheap room, cheap place. Their "Continental breakfast" was stale fruit loops. Pakcaged muffins and honey buns, one waffle maker. Just sucked. I should of known better though for the cheaper price. This was only half of my experience. Ugh.
Staff were helpful and happy to see you.
Everything was great thank you
Terrible experience! As bad as i have ever seen!
Cigarette Burn stains on the non-smoking room. Dirty and dusty room with a weird smell. I complained and was told i could check out in the morning and they would refund me the 2 days. That was not true when i checked out the next day, they imposed the no-refund policy and keep all the money. I had to report them to Hotels.com. I had a nightmare experience. I gave them every opportunity to fix the issue. So an apology after the fact now will not be accepted.
We found the place very clean and relaxing. It was quite around so we had great sleep. Also, the place is only minutes away from downtown, all the major attractions and dining areas. Lastly, the staff was great and accommodating on our requests. Overall, a great experience, 5 stars from us!!
Everything was wonderful. But didn’t understand the three pillows for two people. Either give two, good size pillows (one each) or two, smaller pillows (two each).
Good breakfast watch you closely
Great hotel stay
They refused to restock the continental breakfast they then took our towels out of the room and didnt retock them so i had to drip dry and to get more there was no electrical outlet in the bahtroom had 2 microwaves in the room both didnt work tolet seat was loose all and the beds were rock hard i do not recommend staying here
Clean
Oh well..
Paid extra to check in early and a/c in the room didn’t even work. Took another 30-45 minutes to get another room once it was figured out that the a/c truly wasnt working. By the time we got into the room it was close to our regular check in time..no we didn’t get a refund
This hotel was dirty spots were on the covers. Writing on the walls. Room smelled of smoke. The tube paint is pealing off. We saw baby roaches. I will never recommend this place to anyone.
Not Great at All
Bathroom had mold. Air conditioner was the loudest thing Ive ever heard. Towels had mold. Holes in the wall.
We were there for 3 nights and after the room was never cleaned. On the second day we asked that it be cleaned. It was not although housekeeping did mark it as cleaned so the front desk insisted it had been until I showed them the room and then they couldn't deny it any more. The shower also did not work and only had cold water. The toilet also leaked at times. This was actually our second room as we had to switch cause the door did not work for the first room. Also, several lights did not work either.
NO WATER
First thing was the smoke alarm kept beeping and needed to be disconnected. The manager on duty did that. Then when I went to wash hands…NO WATER! None on faucet none in tub, couldn’t even flush toilet. Had to call front desk again. He said he’ll work on it and should be ok in 15 minutes. I told him I wanted to go visit things in town since on vacation and not sit in my motel room. He finally did get it working but I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s like they hadn’t rented out this room in awhile and they let things go a bit.
it was quiet and clean. Needs updating but other than that was okay
Clean
The room was very nice sized much larger than expected. Was surprised with a full size hideabed couch too. Very happy with lack of highway noise!! Lack of other outside noise as well. Nice basic breakfast. Room was clean. Check in was easy and quick. No carpet was a surprise but understandable. Good place to stay. If we come this way again we will stay here again.
The guy the front desk was helpful during our stay. The location was conveniently close to the main roads we used for our adventures. Wasnt loud at all either Also the AC blasted so cold during our stay lol
It’s very safe and quiet despite what the outside may look like. I had a very pleasant stay.
Room smoking smell
Good for the price
This was about as good as I could expect for the very low price. Quiet. The sheets looked clean, but almost all the towels in the room had stains on them. It's also in a really convenient location if you're traveling with a car.
Quiet peaceful
When we got there, there was no one at the desk and we had to wait. When we woke up in the morning, our bathroom and sink area was flooded so we could not use and had to hurry and check out. Then we had to wait again to check out and to report the flooding.
old guy and His Dog from Minnefornia aka Minnesota
Have a son in Army. Chose The inn Because of its location to Main gate of the Fort Sam and pet friendly. The room- CLEAN & spacious King bed, surprisingly full coach with coffee table, unusual.. But the room service was excellent. cleaned made bed resupplied towels and condiments every day of a three day stay, which reveled any upscale hotel. breakfast was limited but good. Was compelled to leave tip for service, which was well deserved. Hope all visitors enjoy the same. thx to the staff Rey & Rosie (woof - woof) ps. the water in the pool was iffy but I was'nt swimming
The only bad thing, well a couple of things. First the smell of mothballs is very strong when you walk in, and the room smells the same, but not as bad. The mattress was a little springy but decent
Good stay
We booked this hotel for a last-minute trip to San Antonio. We arrived at approx 10pm and went straight to the room after check-in. Not long after, we realized the room needed a good cleaning, as it appeared dusty and dirty on the beds and flooring. My 14 yr old son, a boy (one of the dirtiest things on the planet), asked if we could have the room cleaned. The next morning, I asked the staff, and they said they'd take care of it. We returned to the hotel late the next evening, only to realize the room was still disgusting. I DO NOT recommend this place at all.
$190 for a night. Broken light fixtures. Old microwave with 1970s dials. Weak Wi-Fi signal. Had to keep relighting in my laptop. It’s Econo Lodge I get that but why is every low range hotel in SA 200-300 a night?
Manager was rude and unhelpful!
I had a toilet over flow and I am still waiting for my deposit to refund. I think it should be given right at check out
Not a nice neighborhood. Felt unsafe. The room very low class! I will pay more to stay at a better place then here.
Old and dingy. Well worn.
Good!
Not good
They couldn’t find my reservation and took very long for them to eventually make a new one. Place was overall very sketchy and not clean.
Great!
Not using this booking site anymore!
I was charged for 2 rooms set under 1 reservation, confirmation guaranteed and all, and upon check in, the hotel clerk couldn’t find my second room. Apparently at his end it showed I only had reserved 1 room. So how come my confirmation and total pre paid rooms were for two?? Trying to save money and paying upfront for rooms doesn’t seem like a good idea if at the end they can’t find what you paid for. Even if you have your receipt to prove it. Clerk not very helpful. Total Scam!
I liked that I left! The door to my room had been kicked in at some point and no longer fit in the frame. The bath room door had also been kicked in and the tub had been damaged and was fix with some white plastic substance that when I tried to take a bath it would come off. The staff at the front desk were very rude. They told me they had checked me in for an extra day and they tried to throw me out saying I didn’t pay for the day. It was an awful experience, I do NOT give this run down dump and rating above -0 !!
Convenient and close to airport
This is a great place to stay if you are visiting a member of the military. It is right outside the base, about 30 seconds from the gate & visitor's center. The staff at Econolodge is friendly and professional.
Close to Fort Sam Houston entrance and cheap. Staying by Myself and didn’t need anything fancy. Wi-Fi didn’t always work but the place served it’s purpose.
The room was spacious and very comfortable
It was goog for the money paid
The room was very clean and looked to be newly renovated. The area was nice and quiet
The bed was comfortable. The room was clean but not worth the price we paid. Wanted to charge us extra for check in before check in time so we had to come back later. The fridge had defrosted all over one side of the room. We had to request a clean up and bath towels so we could shower. Had to wait for management to come verify the wet floor and missing bath towels.Check out was not customer friendly. Door was locked so I had to use outside window. I had to buzz for service. It seems that I woke up the young man attending me. I don't think we will be back.
Pro- it was available as we were driving through the night. Con - smelt like cigarettes and mildew even though it was a non smoking room. Bathroom door was water stained and there were burn marks on the carpet.
vending was empty
The treatment was good
Called to confirm reservation and all was good. So decided to pick up some food to eat and relaxe in room. Upon arriving to check in there was no one in front. When door opened it made loud sound so figured someone would be out shortly. Nope. Call out. Called business phone rang once inside then back to main menu. 20 minutes later the guy comes out. I told him how long was waiting no apology just looked at me. Finally got in and food was cold. Never again decent price but not worth being treated like that.
Bed sheet old
Bathroom over flooded as soon as we checked. Though the gentleman at the front desk attempted to try & fix the issue he wasn’t able to but did give us another room. Thank You.
Good
Our room had a lot of stains in the carpet. It smelled funky and the AC kept turning on and off. The whole hotel and room just felt off, didn’t like the vibes of it and felt unsafe. The only positive about this hotel is the location to the AT&T center and downtown San Antonino. Wouldn’t stay here again.
Nothing Pictures online not up to par with the actual site
Friendly staff and clean room and beds. Wish had a coffee maker.
Didn't likevthat Travelocity overdrafted my bank account 5 days befor .y check in when they said my card would not be charged until I checked in to the hotel. I didn't like that the fact I am in a wheelchair was ignored and they booked my room upstairs, and then at check in they charged me $15 to switch it to a downstairs room..and then charged me an additional $2 because there was a safe in the room and regardless of if we used it or not. Also, he said all the handicapped rooms were already rented, but 10min after we got to our non-handicaped room, the maid told us that out of 4 handicapped rooms they have, only 1 was occupied. The rooms were nice, but the outside of the building looked like it had just been through a catagoy 3 hurricane.
Awesome
We took a trip for my nephew's birthday and had a very pleasant time. Although the beds said queen they we're full wich made them a bit uncomfortable but overall it was one of the best hotels I've stayed at and the staff we're extremely friendly. Definitely recommend and will be booking again.
Safe/ friendly/ clean
Great location, great price and very clean rooms
Staff was friendly and the place was very clean!
Overall my experience here was good. The only issue I had was the sink stopped up easily and so did the tub if you were taking a shower.
The place has a lot of wear and tear. Also, one of the hotel staff came into our room unexpectedly and kind of spooked.
Bathroom walls a little yucky, but otherwise clean, quiet and served its purpose.
Loved it!
We found a great price for this hotel. Overall everything was clean and the beds were comfortable I had no problems. Monty the manager was awesome, very friendly and available to assist. You're right by downtown and there's easy access to places to eat. Loved the simplicity of this hotel!
Property was okay ive been in worst. What I didn't like was I was charged extra at the property supposed the price went up.
Nice room and excellent value
Excellent service and the staff was so friendly. Great location only 6 mins to the Riverwalk area.
Friendly front desk very helpful. Nice location next to a base. Quiet and easy access to freeway. Only thing I didn’t like the water was out for one night around 8pm to 2am? Will recommend and stay again next time we go Adan Antonio! 4 stars 👍
Room was attended to daily. It was the proprietor s first day. The whole entry needed to be cleaned and the furniture in the room was grimy.
It's great to be located right off IH 35 and close to downtown areas and a few fast food drive-thrus. What was a little unpleasant was the road/hwy noise all day and night. Our hotel door didn't seem to seal closed all the way even though it was locked. You could see the light coming in from outside through the door frame.
I like the motel
Great stay!! Ok
Reasonable, comfortable, cheap option in the area. As others have noted, the cleaning isn't the deepest, but it's sufficient and nothing is nasty on the surface. Solid beds and pillows, amazing water pressure, friendly front desk, nice mini fridge and microwave. Our door didn't seal very well, the fridge wasn't cold when we arrived, and the bathroom is as tiny as it could be. These are minor complaints and for me, fall into the category of getting what I paid for. I'll definitely stay again under similar circumstances.
I did like that the housekeepers were very friendly but I didn't like that it was very noisy.
It was clean. And the beds were very comfortable. The employees were very nice and polite

We chose this property based on the hot breakfast and pool… they canceled their breakfast and didn’t notify us so we could re-budget our trip. The pool pictures looked beautiful online just for us to get there and see that they filled it in with dirt.
