Facilities were clean, but definitely dated.

Loved the shower. Great water pressure. The vanity sink wouldn't turn off. Very limited electical plugs.

This place is a dump. The photos are from a model room. Cigarette burns in sheets, carpet from 1500’s 200 layers of paint, smells awful, I wouldn’t recommend this place to homeless people

Not a nice hotel

Run down. Shady people all around

Staff was very helpful. Place should not be more than 30$ a night. Room felt like theirs been a few murders in there in the past and it was not up to date at all. I didn’t use any of the sheets or towels because the place seems like it’s infested with bugs. Didn’t see any but that’s the vibe you get. Door was super shaky I had to prob a chair there to make sure it was fully secured.

Rooms are large, tub is wonderful, microwave, fridge.. carpet needs to be taken out though the hotel is being renovated.

Update your pictures. Make sure there is wifi in all the rooms.

Great location, thats the best thing i can say... i stayed same hotel years ago, building, rooms run down, out door lighting not operational. Bulbs burned out, rooms dirty. Check-in staff could care less. After 12 hours of driving this was a huge let down and i was to tired to look for another hotel. Last time i will stay here. Save yourself the headache

Old hotel needs maintenance, charge 100$ damage de

I was charged a $100 cash or credit card fee for cleaning and maintenance in addition to what I already paid and you had to check out in person to see if it was refunded. They would not print out a receipt that it was refunded to my credit card !! They said it would be 3-5 days to release it. I booked a non smoking room and there were cigarette burns in the carpet !! The toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall. Holes in the wall were patched with electrical tape

AC was so loud had to turn off. People gathering outside by ice were loud until late.

Bathroom toilets are really low and could use some upgrades tv was not what was advertised and was very small need more outlets for charging phones or other devices Just little things would I stay again yes

Location is good but need to upgrade

The office was neat and clean and gave a guest a false sense of the hotel. The counter person took both my license and credit card and scanned. This made me nervous as all hotels I stay view ID and have me enter card. Building 7 which was where the room was the building, stairs, room were terrible. The cement stairs were deteriorating. Urine odor in both the parking and stairs. The rooms floor was warped, bed hard, walls around the bathroom deteriorating. The door had large gaps all around where bugs and rodents could enter. I return to the office handed key back and left. No refund!

They took 100 from my card plus two times 148, which is a total of almost 400 dollars.

Toilet leaking which causes noise, I didn’t know there was a door that lead to another room which I can hear the people next to me. And a noticeable gap under the door which was really uncomfortable seeing that. That alone I would have not gotten the room, I wish the pictures were more accurate and up to date. Also there were people outside in big numbers which seem weird and uncomfortable, they were loud, and were going inside different rooms which was also weird and sketchy. Loud music was being played . Shower had a yellow stain like it was not cleaned properly. Just not a good experience at all. Disappointed

My husband and I was there for the game and the stadium was in walking distances so we didn't have to pay for parking.

Very Run down hotel

Angel was extremly helpful at checkin but property is very old and untaken care of. Rooms are rusty and dirty.

Stayed here alone for a few nights in Tampa because I am moving house and needed to work during the day. The internet was not that strong, so that cause a little drama, and somehow the key card for my door stopped working. That said, the staff were great all day long, including early in the morning, and late at night. They fixed what I asked to fix, and it was an inexpensive spot for me to just get through the work week. I would definitely stay there again if I was passing through Tampa.

A dumpy place to stay a night…

I mean, it’s an Econolodge. Don’t go in with high hopes, because you’ll be let down. Go in with low expectations… and still be let down! Clearly the topic of place that doesn’t get any sort of maintenance ever. Popped tiles, shower curtain rods hanging on like a fat guy’s belt at an all-you-can-eat, inexplicably long strands of hair everywhere, rusty fixtures, and questionable drywall. I suppose this isn’t all too unusual for Florida motels, but there was zero seal around the door. Light coming in from all sides- so all sorts of bugs coming in. Don’t inspect the towels/linens too closely either. Stain city. The photos you see posted on their parent brand’s website, Choice Hotels, DO NOT reflect the rooms at all. If they do, it might be the one or two they did over for those photos. Staff doesn’t seem very knowledgeable or they just don’t give a flip. I asked for the laundry key (because they lock that room apparently) and the desk clerk just said “it’s lost, I think someone stole it.” I mean, if you’re locking a room regularly, how do you not have multiple keys? Heck, they’ve got plenty of keycard readers… fortunately the much nicer hotel next door had laundry, so I went there. No breakfast to speak of either. First Econolodge I’ve ever found that didn’t offer some sort of breakfast. If you’re looking for a place to stay and have low/no standards, by all means- stay here.

Long wait to register, manager not on site so employees couldn’t make decisions, toilet leaking, did not wanted to refund last night even though I left after staying 2 days.

This hotel could use a bit of help. The room was decent but the tv signal was grainy and there is no microwave in the unit as advertised. Youll have to go to the office to heat up any food. The rolom was comfy enough to serve its inteded purpose and the staff was friendly at checkin. The only other complaint is the condition of the road on the side of the hotel, but im not going to nitpick about an entire heard of 5 different kinds of birds fouling the entire road regularly, the hotel doesnt own the wildlife in the area and cannot be blamed for it. Its convenient to the major north/south road in tampa and finding your way to fine dining and other entertainment is rather easy from this location.

The property was filthy 😭 and the rooms smelled like mold. Interior needs real renovations,actual the entire property needs to be renovated. People outside smoking dope,loud music outside the rooms all night. I checked out early because I started to get sick and music was to loud. Told the on duty staff about it and they didn't give a damn

AC unit falling apart

The room was run down and the AC unit looked like it was going to fall apart. I was afraid to touch it to adjust the temp! But I guess it’s what I get for the price I pay.

The Building is old and run Down. I did not see a swimming pool or hot Tub. They charged me an extra $100.00 For collateral Damage. IS THIS NORMAL?

The picture on the site is nothing like the actual place, it was very dirty smelled horrible I had to find other housing for my family due to the condition

The check in staff were nice and straightforward. But the room smelled like smoke despite it being non-smoking. Also the door lock was flimsy. Carpet was disgustingly stained.

Good for a quick stay or use to pre-game for Bucs game. Nothing fancy.

The room wasn't ready at check in and had to wait 30 minutes to check in

The room smelled, rhe room was dirty,the bed was uncomfortable, Close to the airport which is the only reason why I stayed. I was there for less than 12 hrs. Other than that I wouldnt ever stay at a place like this.

This property is basically tenement housing. There was an altercation near my room that lasted for several hours and required police intervention. This property is not safe.

It doesn’t bother me that we drove 9 hours to find the hotel without power and closed. It bothers me much more that Econolodge wouldn’t do what other hotels did and take it off Expedia, and Expedia allowing us to book it.

Roaches in room, staircase crumbling, expensive for a dive motel!!

Quite honestly I can only give a review based on the outside because I refused to step inside. If the outside is any indication of the inside then I made the right decision. Not only was it rundown and dirty, the clientele coming in and out made me want to run. My husband walked in to check in and turned right around and said no way and while I was waiting in the car a gentleman gave me the most scary looking stare down. Nope. We left and stayed elsewhere. Do better Expedia

Waiting over 2hours for room. Linen wasn’t clean good. Nothing didn’t t work properly. Very noisy at night . Didn’t sleep well.

Horrible stay

The staff at check in was horrible had an attitude like they did not want to be there and told me my room was not ready when check was 1.5 before my arrival time. The keys did not work had to go to the lobby three times before they finally worked, the rooms looked completely than the pictures in the listing and the beds were completely uncomfortable. Would like for a representative to call me

Disappointing

We arrived at about 4:30pm, the hotel check in time was 3:00pm there were no rooms ready. We had plans that we needed to get ready for so we told them we needed a room. They let us into an uncleaned room so we could change then asked us to leave and come back later so they could clean. The over condition of this hotel was poor. The AC unit was very loud. Not worth the price paid.

Last resort stay if you have to

Despite the terrible price gouging due to a concert at the stadium the night we stayed, mildew-y stained carpet, sketchy likely full time residents of the hotel, and pink + black mold on the shower curtain, we survived and did not have a terrible sleep. About 20 minute walk to RJ stadium. No food in the area at midnight. You do not get what you pay for with this hotel, but it was passable as a place to sleep and get ready.

Hotel staff was very professional and polite, but the room was dirty. The sheets did not smell good. The floors were dirty no microwave in the room very few hangers. Thank you.

It was well priced and convenient location to stadium, but smelled of cigarettes in my non-smoking room. The charger outlets didn’t work except for a single one by the bathroom.

Didn’t even end up staying here. Roaches on walls, room was filthy, gaps in door frame where some kicked in the door. Left and went to another hotel and canceled this hotel on seeing conditions.

Place is the slums. Did not look like the pictures on the website from the outside. I definitely didn’t like it when I pulled up. Did not even check in, I was terribly inconvenienced for fear of being in this environment. Also, walked in to ask a question and the staff were going back and forth about another guest that had checked in and didn’t have towels in the room.. hahahha another red flag. Absolutely not. Money down the drain for nothing, AND it was a desperate last minute booking for the HURRICANE.

The hotel is within walking distance to the stadium. If we would have known there was another hotel in the same parking lot we would have stayed there for $40 more a night.

Do not recommend

When I first arrived the person at the desk was falling asleep. During the check in process he could barely keep his eyes open which came across as rude. Very poor customer Service and the stairs I had to use to go to my room looked like they were falling apart. The room did not look like the pictures and there was a roach traveling on the wall. I guess you truly do get what you paid for.

Good

This property is not what was advertised on the app. I had a roach crawling on my bed. There was no breakfast at all, only coffee. The toilet wouldn't flush my father had to keep fixing it. The front door would close all the way, and someone came by and slide an advertisement thru it. For the price I paid this property was nowhere worth it.

Warren, the young man who checked me in when i arrived, has a very bad attitude! First, he gave me a room and the lock didn't work; so i had to walk back to the front desk. Then he gave a room on the ground floor. When i first arrived, i confirmed that on my reservation i requested a room on the 2nd floor. When i returned to change room, he stated, "I didn't know it was such a big deal." When he gave me the key cards, he said, "Hopefully, that will be good enough for you." Then after i unload my car, i learn that the TV doesn't work in this room. So i had to return to the front desk a THIRD time!!! When i told him the TV didn't work, he said, "Well there's nothing i can do right now." I reminded him that one of the rooms next to me was empty (several other rooms were empty as well), so he grudgingly changed my room again. Lastly, i was there for several nights; but when i went out for a late breakfast the next morning, my key didn't work on the door when i returned. Warren only programmed my key to work for one night...a mistake???

Everything was good except for the fact that the room I was in was extremely hot. I was offered to switch rooms tho so that made everything worth it

When I first got there the first staff person wasn’t on site to check in, the person had told me I had to come back in an half hour didn’t have any suggestions.

There’s not enough characters to describe it

The front desk was accommodating HOWEVER, that’s where the accommodations ended. It was awful. Do yourself and your family a favor and don’t stay here. Pay the extra to be comfortable in the most basic way possible. Use that credit card AND BE COMFORTABLE. Run, don’t walk to a different hotel. We tried to save money and cut corners for this trip and it was a bad idea to do so. The room conditions were terrible. Peeling paint, floors were dirty, the entire room smelled like wet dog and cigarettes, toilet seat was broken and I’m pretty sure drug dealing was occurring in the room next to us. There were leftover children’s clothes in the desk drawers. The Health Department needs to come and check this place because I’m sure the A/C unit was breeding Legionaries spores. The whole place is the personification of a swamp rat. Will not be going back.

While the staff was kind, the property itself was not clean. There were people hanging around outside the rooms and in the parking lot, smoking, which made it difficult for me as someone with asthma.

Worst place ever. Pease stay safe this place was filthy and danger lerks. If I could share the pics I took there. Would show u the filth. Bugs. Dried up blood. To let rusty and filled with nastiness.

There was nothing unique about the property there was nothing good about the properties I would not recommend it door locks does not work on some of the doors between apartments night last was broke on one of the rooms we got first just wasn't a good experience

Honest review

The room was clean but had a strange oder to it. It had a tv that was small and barly worked. The ac unit was cool but not as it should be. The bed was very firm which if your ok with that its not a bad thing. Staff was friendly. Perfect walking distance to the stadium. No pool the ice machines were not working. They were the cheapest room I could find so i guess you get what you pay for.

This was the worst hotel I have ever been too. Walkes into the room and right back out. The smell was horrible and the bed wasn’t made. This hotel should not be recommended by anyone website

Slums ….. not to mention the concert I was attending got canceled they wouldn’t give a refund or a credit for another night and we were there for only 1 hour then checked out and went home ….. the place was disgusting and run down

This room was DISGUSTING. There were roaches. The mattress was rusted and ripped. The bathtub was rusted and the ceiling was dipping. It smelled like cigarettes and pine-sol. I paid almost $200 for this trash room, all because of a concert down the street.

First off, I need someone from Orbitz to reach out to me about this. The hotel room had holes with burn marks on their bedsheets, the front desk did not warn me of a pipe that burst prior to my check-in in my building which they proceeded to shut off the water without warning while I was showering. The sink did not work at all, had to brush my teeth in the shower, I let them know about the sink and they did nothing about it. In two instances, the key did not work during my stay and was locked out of my room and had to get replacement keys from the front. I just wanted to save money for this trip and this is what I get for trying to do so.

Night mare at Econo Lodge

First of all, what they show on their website is not what’s actually there . That is a dirty, ddilapidated hotel . The property harbors junkies , crack heads. The room that I was given had crackgeads shooting up in two rooms from mine, I asked for a different room and OMG the one I got had two guys right by my door smoking . I had seen enough in one day , I had to run out of that hot mess, please please don’t go to the hell hole , also the sheets were dirty and The mattress had major stains on it 👎👎👎

Will always come back

Compared to my other reservation, this was Disney World. Staff very friendly and clean. Answered and responded quickly to everything

Was not clean. Smelled like bug spray and there was broken and crack things in the room . Very run down. Location was the only plus.

The Expedia review shows a pool. There is no pool. Also you don’t get housekeeping service unless you expressly request it. The only positive element this place has is the front desk clerk named Jair who went out of his way to make sure I had a pleasant stay.

This was the most disgusting room i've ever walked into. I had to videotape how gross it was with old carpeting and stains everywhere, Tiles that were missing in the shower and What looked like mold on the ceiling of the shower. Bubbled up paint and rust on top of the refrigerator and what look like mold or something around the air condition unit. Then in the corner of the room by the bed was some kind of yellow substance that looked like old bile that somebody threw up. Also, there were holes in the sheets and comforters. I Complained to the manager and sent her a copy of the video So she could see everything and she wanted to blame it on housekeeping. And I said absolutely not,This is a owner of this facility problem, Not a housekeeper's problem.

The customer service is okay. However when you book a roo online the refund policy is not good. Even if you don't stay in the room.

It was worth the price

When we first arrived to our room there was no shower curtain and no towels. We got our room changed so problem was fixed no biggie but in that other room some lights weren’t working but all was well.

Lighting was not good in parking lot..was placed in an ajacent room and could hear domestic fighting, into the night. Beds comfortable, room interior clean, but needs updating.

Not the best place

You kinda get what you pay for.

The room was clean and comfortable. There were people hanging around on the sidewalk outside. The lock on the door had been broken.

The power on the fridge and microwave was not working. There's insects. Air conditioning was not working call the staff but they were very rude. If you have an emergency you stay there otherwise find better accommodation.

Dirty, humid, falling apart

Receptionists were kind but that was the only good thing. I know you get what you pay for but… wow. Shower towels all had stains, the bed sheets had holes and small black marks, the entrance door had such a large gap under it that was letting in so much humidity the entire room felt sticky. Put a towel to try and block that out a bit but it didn’t work. There was a bug in the shower and no water pressure in the shower. The night stand drawers seemed to be falling out. The floors felt dirty. Honestly I stay at a lot of cheaper hotels and have no problem but this was enough to get me to spend more in the future, not worth it.

Very convenient location for concert at the stadium. Easy to Uber to RayJ and walk back at night. Very safe and quiet. Great deli right there on the same area Potbellies deli.

Fine for one overnight

Stayed for one overnight after a stadium event. Easy parking and short walk to stadium. Fine to just sleep for a few hours. Pillows were comfy. The check in was very friendly. The room was very run down, had a horrible smell, damp/mildew. It was 'as expected' based on other's reviews. Not a place for a vacation, just a place to get a few hours sleep.

Dirty and Disgusting hotel.

This hotel is terrible. The room are absolutely dirty and disgusting. What they show on their website and what you get are complete opposites. The room had a horrible smell and the bathrooms had mold and dirt everywhere. I checked in at 3:30. Went to the room to put my bags in and when I got to the room I turned around locked the door and left my bags in my car. I then went to a concert at Raymond James Stadium. Once the concert was over at 11:00 I dropped the keys to the room off in then lobby and drove 3.5 hours home because the room was absolutely gross. I would recommend this hotel to no one not even someone I dislike!

Don’t drive your good here …

Had to get key cards remade every day, twice in one day! Hotel sits so far back that it is hard to find behind the nicer ones. Sketchy people hanging around. Never did find the ice machine! “Towels” were the size of washcloths and rough as sandpaper.
