Quiet and comfortable.
We arrived very early in sapa and they had a huge lobby area to relax and wait for our check in. It’s a family run business all the staff was very friendly and helpful. Food served for breakfast is amazing and their ala carte dinner is very good especially the hot plate beef. The room is cozy and comfortable with an amazing view and there is a heated blanket, room is true to the pictures they posted. You got to be patient with their hot water for shower though. You can just liaise with the staff if you want a tour. They have various packages to choose from. Overall an amazing experience to get away from the busy city life. To me it’s considered to be a bit pricey for Vietnam.
This was an amazing stay. Quiet and peaceful. View was somewhat obscured by the fog during the winter but you can still see the valley below and rice terraces when the fog lifts a little. Water pressure is good in the bathroom and there is hot water. To keep warm in the room, there is a small portable heater (a bit noisy so didn’t use it when sleeping) and when sleeping, just the electric blanket is enough to keep warm and have a comfortable night’s sleep. Food wise, the in-house restaurant at the main building is good. There’s also happy hour drinks which you can have by the cosy fireplace. Overall was a good stay and the staff go above and beyond to help/accomodate guests.
Beautiful views. Superb friendly staff.
A beautiful oasis with manicured gardens and an incredible view. It was a fun experience to stay in bungalows. The stuff were most welcoming and attentive. We didn’t want to leave!
Our stay was amazing! Some key highlights: - staff was very helpful, kind, and welcoming the moment we arrived - we got upgraded to a “romantic bungalow” - free of charge! Room was very clean and perfect amount of space to relax - the restaurant in eco palms is delicious and very reasonably priced. We had delicious breakfast and dinner there every morning/night - amazing view of sapa right from our bungalow’s balcony - Yuli the hotel dog is super cute and friendly with guests :)
Beautiful view. Definitely stay here if you prefer the quiet peaceful view and don’t mind the short drive to Sapa town and some bugs
Stunning Views, Stunning Service
We stayed at Eco Palms House Retreat for 3 nights and we wish we could have stayed for more. This place is so peaceful, welcoming and homely and boasts some of the most stunning views we have ever seen - mountains with lush green rice paddies etched into the slopes. Photos can never do it justice, you simply have to see it with your own eyes to appreciate its magnificence. We spent hours in the pristine pool just looking out at the scenery and were mesmerised by its beauty. Not only does it have breathtaking views, but the staff are exceptional and do everything they can to make you feel welcome and looked after. Our host Nam is a wonderfully positive, happy person who always welcomed us each time he saw us and remembered our names, which we thought was a lovely touch. The service from all the staff was always of a high standard and the food here is delicious and reasonably priced. Location wise, it is around 10-15 minutes outside the busy Sapa town centre and this allowed us to fully relax in a quiet, tranquil space away from the noisy town. To top off our experience, the owners invited my wife and I to join them for a wonderful family dinner on our last night - they made us a traditional table-top hotpot and we enjoyed chatting to them about their past, present and future plans. They are such lovely people and we felt very privileged to be asked to join them for their meal. Everything about our stay was perfection and we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable stay.
Beautiful scenery
A beautiful, inviting and comfortable family-run hotel with gorgeous views. A spot of quiet tranquility in the bustle of Vietnam. The place is inviting, spotless and utterly soothing. Staff and owners are friendly and attentive. Food is delicious. I didn’t want to leave. You stay in a traditional bamboo/mud small house, but very luxurious with a lovely view and the bathroom is picture worthy. Don’t miss if you visit Sapa. They will arrange day trips- we went to Bac Ha market for the day and just the drive through the mountains is worth it. The market is sprawling and fun. We went on trek by ourselves to local villages and like that very much. Very easy to access.
We had the most amazing time at Eco Palms House! This boutique hotel is so beautiful and unique and we were warmly welcomed and taken care of by all the staff. This is the best service we have ever received at a hotel. You can tell that the owners who created this place and the staff they gave chosen are all passionate about what they do. They have truly made this a special place. They made and served the most delicious meals, cocktails and coffees and added small touches like the welcome tea with cookies and hot towel to serving nuts with the drinks and cookies with the coffees. Now to talk about the grounds of the hotel. It’s a very small and private location with the most beautiful views and garden. It’s like having your own personal botanical garden. I have never seen so many beautiful succulents and plants. The views of the sapa hills and rice fields are breathtaking and you have the views from everywhere on the grounds from the infinity pool, the restaurant and all the rooms. We stayed in the romantic bungalow which I think is the most secluded with the best views. The location is outside of Sapa town which is great to get away from the hustle and bustle but you are still able to take a walk down the street to take in more views and a local store nearby. Thank you so much to ALL the staff at Eco Palms House for making our trip to Sapa unforgettable ♥️
My friend and I had the best time here! The property is beautiful, with great views and landscaping. We enjoyed spending time at the pool and the overlook. We ate most of our meals here, and found that the quality and price were great compared to nearby restaurants. What really sets this resort apart is the phenomenal service from our very first day! Nam remembered our names from our first night and gave us lots of insight into the surrounding areas. All of the staff were very hospitable and welcoming, and we genuinely enjoyed getting to know everyone! Will miss this resort and hope to be back soon :)
The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The dog, Julie, that everyone is talking about is adorable and makes your time at the lodge full of cuddles. The rooms are rustic with an amazing view. We were there at a time when it was freezing, they gave us a space heater and heating blanket we stayed very warm. The only piece I would advise is that the beds are on the floor. When I originally booked this trip I wasn’t sure my in-laws would be joining. It was difficult for them to get in and out of the bed, but other than that it was a great place to stay. We had an amazing time.
Echo palm house has very nice view and good service of staffs.
The place was very nice. It was great to be able to wake up and look over the rice fields. The staff were super friendly and would help you with anything you needed.
Eco palms stay!
Serene location! Absolutely quiet! The staffs are super friendly! Great place overall!
Serenity in Eco Palms House
The view is excellent and allows you to escape from the urban busy life, since there is no Air-con, no TV and no telephone inside the room, you are out of touch by the modern annoyances. The food in Eco Palms House is good with excellent heart-warming service from the enthusiastic staff Nam, and of course, you don't want to miss a lovely little dog called Julie.
I cannot say enough good things about this fantastic retreat. After a very long drive in the dark and the rain, we were a little concerned as we kept on the road 15 minutes out of Sapa. Then behind a nondescript door in a plain rock wall, we found a true paradise in the Eco Palms House. One first notices the beautifully landscape grounds with koi ponds, lillies, and waterfalls. We then were met by Nam who took such good care of us during our stay. Our breakfasts were fantastic, our comfortable cottage had an amazing view right at the top of a terraced rice field and we could get on trekking paths into the valley just out the front door. If you prefe The pool is also overlooks the fields and valley below. I think our favorite part of the trip was our invitation to dinner with the owner Hien, where we enjoyed a fantastic hot pot meal of locally sourced meat and produce with some home brewed rice wine and great conversation. Any time I return to the Sa Pa area, I'd happily skip the main town and get to this very special place!
Highly recommend…5* in every way!Stunning location with wonderful staff. Each bungalow perfect, very clean with beautiful views. Hard to beat view from infinity pool! Service and food excellent. Massage best ever…highly recommend!
Well maintained property. Very eco friendly. Food was excellent. The staff were the best we come across in North Vietnam. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating with prompt service. Also helped us with other accommodation nearby as we wanted to stay longer but their last room has just been taken. Very pleased we found it! Recommend.
Amazing View, Wonderful Host! Will be back again!
Best hotel stay we had throughout our Vietnam Trip! Eco Palms House is one of the prettiest hotel we stayed in and we absolutely love the hospitality of the hosts! Very cosy room, splendid view and it was just a great place where we would relax in. Compared to city center area, this is definitely the better getaway choice to enjoy the beauty of Sapa. Definitely coming back again if I am visiting Sa Pa again.
Great stay at Eco Palms. Just outside the town, much less hustle and bustle. Pool was fantastic and the service from Nam and the team was great. They upgraded our room and the view was fantastic looking over the valley. Definitely worth staying here!
Amazing view of the valley.
Amazing view of the valley, we missed the golden rice fields due to early havest. I think mid August is the best time for that. Overall, being a part of nature this is a place to be.
Highly recommended
Our stay was perfect. The accommodation was very serene. The staff always ensured we were taken care of and arranged everything. We were able to book a trek to the local villages upon arrival easily for the next day. The food was the best we had in Vietnam so far. There is no need to travel into Sapa for meals. Don’t be deterred by the road conditions-I was a bit a bit skeptical about them on our way in but realized it is characteristic of the area. The rooms had good insulation, we stayed warm. Highly recommended, coming from Hanoi we were so happy we chose Eco Lodge instead staying in Sapa.
TThe hotel has a nice view. The host and all step members are very kind. Also the food is the best. I love this place. I want go back someday.
The property was very comfortable and had very helpful and friendly hosts. The views were amazing and very peaceful, quiet, perfect for a retreat from the busy town.
Staff members were very attentive and friendly! They were always there to help me. The room was very clean and organized.
Perfect place for vacation!
Our family of 2adults and 2 children (9&12) stayed Eco Palm house for 2 nights and we had the wonderful time here. The House owner Nam had help us to arranged everything included pick up from train station, private car to Fansipan & Love waterfall, trekking tour, cooking lesson etc! The service of all the staff is superbs and especial thanks for Hein, who had took us to the local market to buy the fresh ingredients for our cooking class lesson. Two kids had a great time chasing around the playful puppy Cam in the main house! What a wonderful experience and perfect place for relax! Would highly recommend this place to anyone that wanted have a true vacation in Sapa!
I had an amazing stay! To start off, the staff is super friendly and helpful (especially Mr. Nam). The views from the property were amazing!! The ambiance was awesome.
Loved how this property fits into the landscape. A fabulous escape!
Absolutely stunning!
very friendly staff, nice view, delicious breakfast. i was really enjoy the time there. thank you
Spectacular place and most amazing hosts! The rooms were so comfortable and Nam and Ivan ensured that we felt so welcomed and everything went smoothly - we can't thank them enough! What really blew us away, in addition to the environment and the opportunity to experience some of the local culture, was the food at Eco Palms House. In addition to a beautiful breakfast, the menu from 11am to 9:30pm was the most wonderful local delicacies we could have imagined - salmon wrapped in banana leaf and noodles and papaya with shrimp to name a couple... wish we had time to try it all! Incredible chef - with more time we would have liked to take a cooking class, not only enriching our experience but also being able to contribute to the local community. Things to note for next time are check-in time (being sure to notify them of late arrival, but to be there before midnight), and that the rooms are well equipped with heaters and hair dryers for the winter when it's cooler. I should not forget to mention again the hospitality and the delicious cocktails... so many skills! Hope to be back one day soon. :)
This is a special and unique property. It may not be for everyone because the accommodations are rustic (there is electricity and wifi, but no tv or mini fridge) and the location is somewhat remote, but if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of major tourist spots, and immerse yourself in the mountains and trekking to hilltribe villages, Eco Palms is un-beatable. In addition, the staff is lovely, and the on-site restaurant is fantastic.
Amazing Staff....
Beautiful little hotel in SAPA. Great food, amazing staff. Nam, thank you for making our stay an unforgettable one.
We had a wonderful bungalow right on the edge of a beautiful rice paddy. When wet we needed to be a bit cautious walking on the rocky path but that added to the overall natural feel. Staff and environmental feeling were appreciated
Good place to stay. Good service nice staff. The food is excellent and delicious.
Excellent and accomodating stay
Everything about our stay at Eco Palms was excellent. Firstly, they let us move our booking to a day earlier, free of charge, as our plans have changed, let us check in early and we were upgraded to a luxury room. The bungalows are a little haven - amazing views over the paddies, nice bathroom and super comfy bed. The staff are very polite and attentive. They organised transport for us, as well as trekking and a cooking class. The turndown service was a nice touch - sunset cocktail whilst they set your room up for the evening with essential oils. Housekeeping twice daily. Food in the restaurant was very good. Daily happy hour on cocktails. The dogs were also a pleasant addition! Thank you for a great, relaxing stay!
An amazing hotel with amazing views and friendly and welcoming staff. Feels like a family home! The bungalow is comfortable and the balcony has stunning views of the mountains. Food is great too. It is like the luxury homestay - it is not cheap but you really get what you pay for. We really enjoyed this place and would highly recommend it.
Right on the rice paddies
We stayed a night in the bungalow right on the rice fields over looking beautiful scenery. So glad we stayed here as it was a wonderful experience, enjoying a morning coffee sat out on the terrace. During our stay it was quite foggy and cold but the electric blanket kept us cozy throughout the night. The staff are very welcoming, happy and polite. Was a very peaceful stay, we wished we could have stayed longer. The location is away from the touristic centre, this means it is close to Lao Chai village which you can easily trek down to on your own down the winding road. We even had a stray dog follow us all the way back from the village! I think they now have a new pet.
Wow. Loved every minute.
Amazing stay here. What a place, great views, great food, great service. Trustworthy for local tours. Cost an additional 75000 dong per person to get to (£2.50). You can get a cab from Sapa town center for around £5-£7. It's amazingly quiet and very much part of nature. They have 5 small dogs and three cats that will pass by but will not enter your bungalows or rooms. Also local wildlife in the vicinity (buffalo, etc) feeding on the grass around the rice fields. Loved everything about this place, from the ginger tea served on arrival to the oil essence of our choice added to the bungalow scent. Brilliant.
Amazing location and wonderful staff!!
We stayed here about midway through our 3 week trip to Vietnam. It was an absolutely amazing stay. The staff are excellent and always going the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. We stayed in a private bungalow and the view was just breathtaking! The restaurant on site is absolutely fabulous and with the slightly higher prices you’ll pay compared to food in town. Also, as another reviewer said-they really do have the best pho I’ve had in Vietnam so far! Don’t skip this stay!!
Great location and eco experience
Great eco experience, lovely ambience and excellent food. Not recommended if you are not steady on your feet as pretty tricky getting to the bungalows especially if wet. Bungalows very well appointed, water could have been hotter and balcony needs a railing. Wonderful view when the cloud lifted.
Amazing views, staff and atmosphere
Just outside sa pa town (where there is constant construction and bustle) this place is peaceful and perfect place to relax. Staff are friendly and helpful at all times. The food is a la carte and worth dining in for.. it is also a little way to other food places so its great they do full service. There is a massage place on the premise and they can arrange outings and tickets. As it is a bit out of sa pa in the village area there is a ticket you have to purchase to enter the area. 10/10 would stay again.
Serenity and first class hospitality
Do yourself a favour and visit this beautiful oasis in the mountains of Viet Nam. By far our favourite experience and we wish we had stayed longer. The food is delicious. The staff make you feel at home. The buildings are all crafted to make you feel like you are in another world at another time. Eco Palms House has been built to create an environment in which guests can relax and truly unwind. My daughter and I were so at peace here just sitting, eating and drinking, mingling with other travelers, and strolling through the mountains.
Wonderful bungalow getaway in Sapa
My partner and I had a wonderful time staying in a bungalow at Eco Palms. The location perfect with a beautiful view but outside of busy Sapa town. The hosts were kind, accommodating, friendly and dedicated to making us feel at home. We really enjoyed the food as well as taking a cooking class. We feel the hosts went above and beyond to make our experience fantastic.
Scenery from the balcony was breathtaking. Wonderful hospitality of the staff. We were invited to join the staff for a heartwarming hotpot lunch just before our departure. A perfect base for trekking and exploring nearby villages like Lao Cai and Ta Van. Situated away from the hustle and bustle of Sapa town.
Amazing place
This place is amazing. I stayed in the shared dormitory for 2 nights, the bed was good and I could not have wished for a better view ! Note that this is a wooden house and that it is quite open to the outside. Insects and frogs can be pretty loud at night! I think it was part of the experience. The staff is very friendly and will make sure you are having a good time. The bathroom was very clean. The breakfast was great. If you are here for trekking, this is the place to be. Do not stay in Sapa! :)
view of the surrounding rice field was priceless
We would definitely stay there again. Staff were all very friendly. It's away from Sa Pa town center, which is preferred by us. If you want to be in the center of town then this may not be a good option however if you are looking to be away but easily accessible to Sa Pa it's a 20 minutes car ride.
Perfect base in the mountains
Thank you for an unforgettable stay - will recommend to friends and family!
sweet room with great view
the place is nice and comfy. the view is breathtaking. Do try the cinnamon tea in the menu. Its amazing. the place is little far from the city and it can ne little difficult to reach in the night as the roada are completly blacked out in the night. the room is amazing.
Awesome view but lacks room heater
the room is abit small especially for 3 pax (they just added an extra bed to the bungalow meant for 2 pax), but the view of the rice padi fields is awesome. i could just sit at the balcony of the bungalow the whole day to enjoy the view. One con is that there is no room heater, it is freezing cold during winter, where temperatures were around 4 degrees when i was there. They only have electric blanket which works very well!
Awesome stay.
Location is 6km away from sapa town. Quiet and nice place. Overlooking lao cai village. Rooms and common area are clean. Staff are friendly and approachable. Very cozy place to stay in. Highly recommendable. Lastly the in house food taste good too. will definetely choose this place if i'm going back again.
Unforgettable Mountain Experience
Sapa was our third pit stop in Vietnam and our stay at Eco Palms made it truly an unforgettable experience. It was quiet, had a gorgeous personal deck view (we stayed in a bungalow), delicious local inspired food, modern wc and impressive overall hospitality service. We spent many a morning on our deck watching the mountain landscape and the wildlife. Decor is well done with local wares placed in an aesthetically pleasing manner, but still with a homey feeling. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Sapa. Thank you Eco Palms, we will never forget our stay and hope to be back soon!!
Trip of a Lifetime
My daughter and I stayed a short ways out of Sapa at this idyllic spot called Eco Palms House. We are so happy we found this beautiful relaxing place set in the hills. The entire staff especially, Hien, made our stay a wonderful experience. From our arrival with hot tea and getting to pick the natural herbal scent you wanted for your room when they turned it down at night, to the attention to every detail to make your stay was enjoyable, we felt like we were in heaven. Their food is delicious! We ate breakfasts, a lunch and a dinner while we were there and all the food was prepared beautifully. The grounds and the "big room" where you eat and also gathered with other guests is very traditionally decorated and is warm and inviting. Hien works with the local schools donating food and supplies to the children and their families. You can take a cooking class and make food to donate, but because we had limited time we donated money so that food was purchased and individually bagged. Hien helped us organize the entire process and we were able to visit a school and pass out bagged food to 70 children. It was very rewarding to see how directly you can help needy families with the basics. When we come back to Sapa, we will definitely stay here again. Even the bumpy road into town would not deter us. Eco Palms, Hien and the entire staff was the top highlight of our trip!
Bad experience
I would not stay there again. The views are amazing but the quality of service is very bad. Dishonest owners, trying to sell you overpriced tours and transfers. Also, its very cold in winter - heater is very small for the size of the room and the shower is either very hot or lukewarm. Not a pleasant experience.
We had a great time in Eco palms, love the view and nice servic
Nice place outside of Sapa
My friend and I stayed here for one night. The price is a bit high for what is essentially a mud hut in the middle of a rice paddy, but it was nice to be outside of the chaos of tourist saturated Sapa. The setting would be quite lovely before the rice harvest is complete. When we stayed, everything was already cut down and brown. The staff was very accommodating and the food was pretty good. Our only complaint was that we were kept awake at night by the sound of mice running all over the roof of our bungalow! We didn't see them, but could hear them moving and were nervous that they would join us on the inside.
Like home stay just with comfort
Amazing place great vibe Great food and amazing view
Calm houses with amazing view
If you don't mind staying close to nature and local tribe people, it is a perfect getaway from city noise.
Best Hotel in Sapa
Absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Stunning location, wonderful staff, adorable bungalows, amazing food...I can go on and on. LOVED this place and highly recommend it!
Paradise
Stunning view from the bungalow. Little paradise you don't want to leave. So easy to chill and relax from Sapa city. A bit pricey but surely worth it.
Eco Palms lodge was beautiful - great location, away from the crowds of Sapa Town (it's about a 20-30 minute drive away). Staff could've been friendlier, but overall experience was great.
An amazing and unique experience!!!
Would highly recommend this hotel!! Such a unique and amazing experience. The hotel is situated within the mountains and rice fields in a village outside of Sapa. It is so beautiful. We stayed in a private bungalow which was lovely, clean and had an AMAZING view. The staff were very friendly, and helped us organize two amazing treks. The guide they arranged for us, Lan, was excellent! She was so knowledgeable, interesting, friendly, and her English was great. We did two treks with her, and would highly recommend these excursions! The food at the hotel was some of the best we have had during our 2.5 weeks in Vietnam. We would highly recommend this hotel!!! Chelsea and Ryan
Beautiful boutique feel
We stayed in one of the private bungalows for a night. We had a wonderful stay! The staff were so welcoming and anticipated all of our needs. The views from everywhere were amazing and the room was clean and bright. The shower was hot. I was pleasantly surprised that there were not a ton of bugs (I saw maybe 3 in the room and none of them bit + there was mosquito netting). The staff arranged for our trek, meals, transport, and spa experience ($69 for a 2 hour massage :) The pho was great. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Sa Pa!
Beautiful location and views.
We loved Eco Palms. We stayed in a private bungalow which has a rustic feel. the main lodge is attractive. Staff were helpful with information. Our main problem was with food. We found the food overly salty and generally not to our liking - it is the only option without getting a cab into town.
Not so good
The location and the view were great. The service was "home schooling"; therefore, lack off good manners and services. There was a short-hair female staff of whom I think was obnoxious and should be let go. She sold me the breakfast package deal with notion of "all you can eat breakfast". When I ordered four to five items on the breakfast menu; she tried to limit my order and warned me to finish all my food or will be charged for leftovers.i paid for my meals and I can do whatever I choose with my food. It is my business...I paid for it. She was taking my orders and rudely walked off to serve other guesses. She did not finish taking my orders and brought me food I did not order. I told her the ordered items were wrong, and she replied back with remarks that I should be clear with my orders. Little to say, I would not stay here again. The price for one night stay here is twice the price of a nicer room at a three stars hotel near the center town. This place is not all that... Only the great view was great. My rating is two thumbs down on this place. My thought on this place: it is overpriced and overrated with bad trained staffs. Stay elsewhere.
Excellent stay.
The Eco Palms seemed out of the way when I was booking it online but once I got to Sapa it became very obvious that it is the best option. We stayed in the dormitory where each bed is equipped with an electric blanket, quilt, and pillow. As we were the only guests staying in the dorm it was perfect. The house has two shared bathrooms which are clean and cosy. There may be a wait if there are many guests. The restaurant was by far the best hotel food we had on Vietnam, the menu was a decent size with vegetarian options and a decent bar.
Mountain retreat
Nice location in rice terraces far from urban distractions

Eco Palms House - Sapa Retreat | Hotel in Sa Pa | Travala.com
Exemplary service from all staff here. Received a complimentary room upgrade to a suite with an excellent view of the fields and mountains. Cozy and tranquil. It’s not near to Sapa town though but they have an in-house restaurant with good variety of food at very reasonable prices as well. Best place for a recharge and back to nature moments.
