Great location for centre city
Traveling from the U.S
The room smelled so bad almost toxic like. I notified Hotels.com and the hotel. They moved us the next day, we had a tour and couldn’t get moved. They moved us to another room, my electric toothbrush went missing. The staff was very nice about the whole thing. But they need some restoration in this place for sure. We have booked 3 Hilton’s in this month long trip. The Hilton @ little Queen street in Melbourne and Georgie, I can’t say enough about that location! Hilton is better than this, please put some money into this other Hilton.
The location was very good. It was close to shopping and bus stop.
Great to have 24/7 check in as we were an “after hours” check in. Night staff average like they were reading from a script, unable to answer basic questions and just repeated themselves. Room was great but noise coming from corridor in the morning woke us at about 6am which was disappointing.
Always a great spot, very easy to get around and easy access to shopping and dining. Only let down was the room was a bit cold even with the aircon off.
Perfect
Quiet and handy to everything
Stay here
Outstanding stay. Wonderful helpful staff. Comfortable room and best bed of our holiday
Excellent location for visiting the city. Close to activities such as the cable car, botanic gardens, Zealandia, and walking distance to harbour. Large comfortable rooms and was quiet at night despite being in the city centre. Parking available in the adjoining lot in designated spots.
Room smelt
Bathrooms not clean. Smelly.
Rooms nice but mine smelt of dampness
Bathroom was not as clean as I expected. Drains or shower smelt bad.
Room smelt of mould due to unclean bathroom
Room smelt of mould, and you could see mould behind the vanity and in the shower. Really sad as the hotel itself is a lovely old building. I stay here all the time, but it is not what it was pre-COVID.
Beautiful room, nice breakfast, professional staff and centrally located.
Centrally located, very walkable to everything, good buffet breakfast, close to harbor and cable car, easy for transportation options.
Great Location. In the heart of the city. Vintage hotel with charm and ambience. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Highly recommend!
Poor air conditioning. Room remained at 23°C despite setting controls to Cool to 18°C. Was moved to another room but that made no difference. I was explained that the room was actually at 14°C but display was showing incorrectly as 23°C!!! Who are they kidding? Hot days, stuffy nights, no good sleep, ridiculous excuses!
Very centrally located, comfortable, quiet boutique hotel. Helpful staff.
Good location
We really liked this hotel. Excellent service, fantastic restaurant onsite, comfortable bed, easy parking and right by the ferry to South Island. The hotel restaurant was really good. Strong value for money. Highly recommend overall.
Table in room not cleaned full of glass marks Chipped glasses Not ok Hilton
Central location
Plastic straw wrappers on the floor upon arrival shows cleaning not done. Tv was broken and needed to be repaired. In room coffee and tea choice and quantity was dismal. Homeless outside front enterance of building. Bed on wheels, so when you lean on the backboard you fall down the gap. Poor sound cancelling in room.
Rooms were very nice and located in the city with ample parking. Limited food options after hours
Beautiful property for a weekend getaway. Really enjoyed our stay.
Conscience of property, good in house restaurant
Comfortable and Pleasant
Overall, we had a relaxed and pleasant stay. The staff, especially Sheila, at the front desk, were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again also because the location is centralized in the CBD to many locations of interest. We so enjoyed being close to the wharf area with its restaurants, museums, shops, and views of the harbor. Staying at the DoubleTree added to the making our first Wellington trip a memorable one.
The property and staff were amazing.
Hotel is right in city center so it is really convenient for walking and to see all the local attractions. The receptionist offered a room upgrade that was pretty cheap and it was so worth it. Really nice facilities and rooms.
Stayed for one night before our ferry to Picton the following day. A good location opposite the cable car and not far from the port. Room was clean and comfortable, although we were woken up early by roadworks outside. Parking was good but we were a little disappointed that we couldn’t leave our car for a few extra hours after check-out when our ferry was delayed.
Nice room, very comfortable beds. The hotel location is perfect.
Overall great
Parking we couldnt figure out, had to call the front desk. Otherwise it was fantastic
Nice place to stay in city center
Great customer service front desk
Highly recommend
Fantastic stay. Super comfortable bed and blackout curtains. Huge shower. Definitely best hotel we have stayed in in Wellington. Great location
we stayed here for a night with our kids, wonderful place and definitely High grade services, the buffet breakfast is great and the carpark is easy to access
Great service
Great property
Nice, spacious and clean.
Beautiful clean elegant and perfecto location
Excellent location, clean and tidy rooms and friendly staff. Ideal hotel for a short break away.
Good food
Very comfortable and quiet with exemplary cleanliness
Highly recommend excellent restaurant Top class at reasonable price!!
Very comfortable room, even though central city location it was quiet.
Lovely place to stay and so close to everything
Very convenient location. Beautifully decorated room that was clean and fresh. Even came with a complementary chocolate bar and water!!!
Liars about parking
Nice hotel but when we arrived pulling up to the hotel was difficult since it's on a small dead end street. We were told to park in the parking garage next to the hotel with spots label with their hotel signs. There was none available so we had to park in a paid public spot which the hotel told us to do (even though there was free parking on the street which we didn't find out until the next day). We paid $20 for 12 hours and woke up to a ticket the next day because we missed the time by 6 mins. Told the hotel about the situation even though their website said parking available which is why we booked it. Come to learn that it's a first come first serve for the VERY limited hotel spots. Or pay $40 weekend or $80 on weekdays for the day even if you're not parked during the day. Hotel told us to appeal which would take days and would unlikely be approved. Any other hotel I've been to of this standard would've offered to reimburse us since their website did promise us parking. First time reviewing a hotel since this hotel was very unhelpful. Pretty much told us it's our own problem for not getting one of their 15 spots first. There are other/better hotels in this beautiful city. Go to them.
Best DT Inn I have seen.
The room was spacious and the front desk worker was fabulous.
Will not return !
Noisy, we can hear clearly people talking n slamming doors outside our room the whole night through ! Cold faced check out staff impolitely insisted on $35 extra for overnight parking. He didn’t believe the check in staff never told us so ! We don’t mind paying but pls be more respectful !
Table in the room was dirty it had drink marks it had not been cleaned
It was nice central Stay bed is very comfortable front staff excellent only negative thing I can comment is very minor hotel is little rundown. However we had great stay excellent location.
Nice hotel
The room was very nice and a good size. Only weird thing was having to wait for someone to open the door to the lobby from both the street and the hall leading to the garage. Also the location on a dead end street and having to park around the corner was a little awkward, especially since we were driving and arrived later in the evening.
Really lovely stay right in the heart of the city with the quickest checkin and checkout ever
Nice and central in the cbd
All round great stay. Very central to the CBD
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay
It’s not so much the hotel, it’s the area itself. Good location for Wellington, but there’s just limited good restaurants and attractions.
The room was huge and so comfortable. The area had great restaurant options as well.
Clean, comfortable, quiet, lovely building. Dining options are a walk or drive away (depending on your mobility). Was a great break for us!
Nice hotel, is my go to when visiting Wellington
Our stay was perfect! friendly service Highly recommend.
We arrived early hoping to leave our bags, we were then invited to check in as our room was ready - this was fantastic! Especially after an early morning flight. Excellent stay!
Almost everything about this property was exactly what we expected and needed. One constructive criticism however, would be the lack of storage for clothes; we spent two days living out of suitcases.
A gem location in Wellington city
We enjoyed staying in this hotel with the locality being excellent for the activities we planned in Wellington. It was marvellous for convenient shopping, access to the waterfront, the botanical gardens and cable car. We also enjoyed the 1930s ambience of the hotel, giving us a perfect base to experience along with the related architecture and history of the city. If we could provide some constructive feedback, it would be that we would enjoy more variation to the buffet breakfast.
This was a great stay for us. Very comfortable and close to everything in the area.
Great stay, nice staff, excellent breakfast, good room. Would definitely go back.
Excellent location and friendly staff! Rooms felt luxurious
Great location and lovely clean room
Good central location close to shops and the business district. The cable car is a 1 minute walk. Also many cafes are nearby and it’s an easy walk to the restaurant district in Cuba St, Allen St, Blair St and Courtenay Place.
Breakfast was unappealing food set out in counters. Price was too high for the value. Skip it, go elsewhere to get coffee or eat.
Old fashioned Glamour in the City
Very happy with our choice. Nice to get that warm cookie on arrival and some welcome extras in the Room. Very close to the TSB Stadium where we were attending WOW. Right in town and close to the Waterfront. Beautiful old building, well maintained with attractive Art Deco decor. Didn't realise the full breakfast was included in the nightly rate which was a bonus and we were impressed with the selection each morning. Helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.
Very convenient to central wellington and also TSB centre
Lovely old building.
Great location, clean room, comfy bed and good shower pressure.
We had a very enjoyable stay with a young child. The staff very extremely friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend staying at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Wellington. Looking forward to staying again. Highly recommended.
Pleasant, great location, no view though so quite expensive
Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, good location
Excellent, as always
The only downside of our stay is we found the room cold.and you could not take the heating above 23C. This may work in the summer but not so great for those days when the wind is cold.
Lovely hotel. Would recommend
The Gatsby styled decor, vibe and setting was beautiful. The room was lovely and spacious and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Check in clunky, information about parking - took 4 attempts to get right. Two by phone, yep written Access between hotel and Wilson’s building is locked outside office hours, and sometimes we stood banging on the door for far too long trying to get staff attention to get into hotel foyer.
Efficient, friendly staff. Stylish interior of hotel. Beautifully appointed rooms. Comfortable beds. Convenient location. Would definitely stay again!
Bathroom was a little dirtier than it should have been
Amazing property and lovely rooms. Amazing service and good value.
Lovely hotel, great location and breakfast. Oh yes…. The cookies !
Room aircon DID NOT HEAT and we didn’t sleep at all , was to cold.
Poor gym. No facilities! old rooms.
Lovely place to stay - welcoming staff
Loved our stay here, from the complementary warm cookie to the super room, and comfy beds. Restaurant was great with very attentive staff. Loved the old charm of the building
Great place to stay.
Arrived an hour early and the staff were awesome and found us a room to check into. Not a lot of sound proofing between floors and walls. Unfortunately very noisy neighbours.
I liked the architecture and service was very good too.
Our favourite hotel in Wellington
