Absolutely amazing
Island resort with plenty of activities
A superb, peaceful stay only a short boat ride from downtown Nouméa, surrounded by stunning nature. We snorkelled from our bungalow directly into a group of over ten turtles grazing on sea grass and being cleaned by lagoon fish.
We stayed 8 nights in an over water bungalow, I think you would be disappointed if you didn’t stay in an over water bungalow and stayed in one of the other rooms. The staff were really nice everywhere and spoke good English. Boat transfers were easy to navigate however it’s not very nice getting the smaller boat in the morning and at night, if we did our trip again, we would of spent a little less time here and had a few nights around lemon bay somewhere. Swimming was great, however not as nice as the beaches at isle of pines. Food was a little bit of a let down but the snack bar was great. Didn’t see any sharks and only saw one snake. Seagulls were annoying, ruined being able to eat outside, the pool bar also wasn’t open at all when we were there.
Great spot to stay, the rooms and the island is incredible. Wildlife was everywhere, heaps of birds, fish, turtles and sea snakes! Very helpful staff, only downside was the food, a fairly standard buffet was pretty pricey and room service took a while.
Really clean, beautiful grounds

Great place for short stays
Quite
This is the best hotel i have ever stayed in (Ive stayed in a lot). We had the over water bunglow. It was worth every penny, just wish i had longer there. Go down the steps and fish and turtles everywhere. Buffet was incredible, endoess choice and top quality food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We just had a perfect holiday! Food choice was an issue like everyone says in review but overall this place is amazing!!
The food was very average and very minimal options. There needs to be a small shop for snacks
Lovely place, poor food and lacking atmosphere
The room was lovely. Spacious and comfortable and I was lucky enough to get a garden cabin with a water view which was brilliant. Perhaps they could have taken a bit of space from the bedroom area to make the bathroom a bit less cramped. But the bed was comfortable and the rooms well appointed and very clean. In fact cleaning staff were the only ones who smiled and said hello. The hotel generally wasn’t very welcoming. Even on arrival we were met with bored indifference instead of a welcome and for the most part that continued. The food offering was beyond disappointing. I’ve never paid so much for such sub par food in my life. Once you are on the island you are a captive market, choice is very limited (a very sad buffet) and a variety of fried foods from the bar. That’s it. Also no nightlife or even anything trying to create a convivial atmosphere. The main entertainment seemed to be watching the seagulls steal food. Plenty of water sports on offer and I guess that’s the main attraction, although you can come across as a day tripper to access all of that and not have to endure meal times.
We were blessed by great weather, but we wouldn't have minded just watching the world go by from our over water bungalow if we had to. Swimming with the turtles and fish is amazing, coral is average but if you've never seen much before then this is a great introduction. The island is busy on the weekends with day trippers so if you want a quiet stay then book for a weekday period. We made our own food for lunch and dinner to keep costs down but the breakfast buffet is fantastic and plentiful. Staff generally have good english and are very helpful as expected. We did hear a complaint from another visitor about the nesting birds being too loud for them at night, so if you do want a peaceful sleep then I'd recomend upgrading to the overwater bungalows. Overall it was an amazing stay and we were sad to leave!
Amazing location!
This property was better than what we expected. We saw lots of turtles and tropical fish on our morning walk around the island. Staff were very friendly and a snorkling tour to near by island was the unforgettable experience for our family due to swimming restriction in Noumea Council. Also hiring canoe is the morning was amazing as we spotted lots of turtles. I highly recommend this hotel for families.
Perfect place to relax and escape from the stresses of every day life.
A resort with a beautiful outlook. The overwater bungalow we stayed in was fantastic. Unfortunately, accessing food was an issue! Other than the breakfast buffet, very few options for lunch, other than a snack bar/cafe with very few options again. For dinner, it was either the buffet at AUD $130 per head or deep fried processed chicken and fish nuggets, fish fingers and chips. What a disappointment!
Awesome location. Awesome room. Awesome island experience. 10/10
We had a great time, but it is clear that there ant enough staff to serve the guests needs and the conditions of the small after hour boat is not the best. There were not enough fresh salad on the buffet and the variety of salads wasn’t good at all. The rest of the food was okay. The queue for the grill was a bit slow as there was only one chef on the grill and it wasn’t enough at all. The staff is super friendly and they try to accommodate your needs. The water activities were not included for the guests which is a real shame, we pay premium price and everything else is on top. Only two bottles of 500ml of water was available at the room free of charge for the whole 5 days. No activities for the kids not even beach toys. No kids corner at all and lots of kids around. Luckily we had enough activities on us for our stay. The room was good, big enough for us and clean. The kids slept on the sofa bed, which is okay for kids not for adults. The relax area needs some upgrade to match the standards of the resort, as it looks like more a camping area the a resort kind of thing. Lots of people come to the resort for the day and they have access to the resort area as the guests. When we arrived it was already dark and we had to take the small boat to the resort and it was scary. No safety instructions, no information about our crossing from the skipper and it was scary. Pitch black, and we didn’t have any idea what was going on neither what were the sea conditions. So, be prepared
We stayed in the bungalows over the water and couldn’t fault them. They come with everything you need including usb charge points so you don’t have to bring an adapter. Our biggest downfall was the limited dining and food options. It was hard to understand what was open and when. The sunset bar burgers are amazing and should be available throughout the evening. The dinner buffet is a huge waste of money and the cocktails are not worth the money - they are thrown together and all taste the same. It’s a huge shame as the property has a lot of potential. The service doesn’t align to the price you pay unfortunately.
Amazingly location. The overwater bungalows are stunning and an easy 5/5 and the pool is lovely. Unfortunately the food was an absolute let down. Rinse and repeat daily and not up to scratch. We didn’t bother to finish some of our meals. Also found the majority of the staff to be somewhat disinterested. At one point stood at the bar and had 4 staff walk past without acknowledging us. Would rate the overall experience 3/5.
The location is fantastic. Food and dining options are limited.
Lovely place to stay, lots of bad reviews about the buffet, we found it to be great bt just very expensive. The only issue I had was being charged extra for the kids without being told this would happen, tbf we used wotif to book so partly their issue but Hilton took no responsibility in the complete lack of visibility of the extra costs. We should have been made aware at the time of booking.
We stayed in Premium Overwater Bungalow for 6 nights. Was amazing, advertising photos don't really do the location justice. Paradise. Lots of marine life and turtles. Nice beaches, water sports. Can free boat transfer back to mainland on the many trips on the island ferry. Everything was amazing.
Best hotel stays ever in my life. We stayed at overwater bungalows and it was fantastic! Enjoyed watching sea turtles swimming every morning from the room. Breakfast and dinner buffet are nice too. Definitely I will go back, maybe next year.
Lovely long weekend break location
Getting there was seamless (navette from the airport to the port, water taxi to the islet) and once there staff were warm welcoming and friendly. Helps to speak French but not essential. Over-water bure are well appointed and with a few exceptions have uninterrupted views; there are two grades, the standard are a bit less private, but nonetheless enchanting. Food was plentiful and well presented, albeit not haute cuisine, perfectly acceptable. Wine list includes some very drinkable French wines. Didn’t use the pool as it was generally well populated with children which we were avoiding! Lovely stay overall but not your “cheap getaway”
Extremely peaceful and secluded on the island. Pool bar was never open when we were at the pool, but that could have been our fault not finding a schedule/timetable of it's operating hours
Room was very nice, as was view and area. Very limited food choices and food was a health risk. Bain maries where buffet food was displayed showed temperatures of 8C on opening, closing temp was around 6C. Seafood, cheeses and desserts in these displays. Ended up with food posioning which am still getting over.
We stayed at the overwater bungalow for two nights. The bungalow is new or has been refurbished recently, the space is very generous. We love the crystal clear water and sea turtles. You can snorkel at your door step with plenty fish. Beaware there are sea snakes in that area, I think they moslty come out at nightfall. The beach is average, there are rocks which is not very nice to walk on. I see a lot of review complain the buffet. My honest opnion, the buffet is not bad, enough vairities. If you are stay for longer, book their boat so you can go to Noumea for meals and shopping, get yourself some snacks too. Overall I think it is a beautiful resort, if they can add à la carte menu it will definate add to it.
The food, the rooms, the clear water, this place has it all! Better and cheaper than the Maldives!
Great stay, great breakfast, friendly staff and overall awesome experience. Highly recommend!
The only problem about the stay was the food! Absolutely horrible! Same as coffee and drinks! One of the worst ever. Other than the food, the room was big, spacious, clean and very well done. It was a beautiful overwater bungalow, everything about it was nice, the staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a nice place to chill for a short period of time not more than 2-3 days considering there’s nothing around because it’s a very small piece of land. If they step up with better quality food I’ll definitely give 5*, the best Hilton so far (again except the food)
Excellent stay, we loved it so much we booked an extra 3rd night. The water is crystal clear, white sand, and great snorkeling! It was so great to relax and just be away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland.
An unique place surrounded by turquoise water , turtles and great views .
The bungalow over the water was a highlight, to go off your deck and down the stairs into the water is a must. The turtles and fish were amazing to snorkel and swim with. The food and drinks are on the expensive side but being on an island I expected that. The breakfast and dinner buffets had a variety of foods to choose from and to suffice everyone’s dietary needs. My recommendation try the wok prawns at dinner which are cooked by the chef fresh, delicious. We went to the supermarket on the main island to by snacks and some wine before heading to Doubletree, which we had through the day. The facility was always being cleaned daily and the staff were all friendly. We stayed 4 nights which was plenty of time to relax and enjoy.
Absolutely loved our stay here. The island is so special surrounded by reef and the staff were exceptional
Good location. Good rooms and facilities. Food was quite ordinary. Buffet only, and quite expensive.
Nice resort to stay at few days at. Boat ride across makes it feel lovely and remote. Beautiful island with lots of local fish to see. A lack of staff caused issues around speed of service at the bar and cleaning away tables which as the Seagulls were a menace (swooping and stealing food) made this worse. Food selection for kids was terrible unless you count chips every night. Snack bar was limited and didn’t change. Pool bar was closed which was disappointing… Pools were good and kept clean but awkward to access. Lovely staff who tried their best.
This is a beautiful property. We stayed in an overwater bungalow which was sensational. We really enjoyed stepping down from our bungalow straight into the water and floating with the sea turtles. Sunsets were spectacular. There were a few hiccups that really need to be addressed. There were some issues with check in because i had booked 3 days and then extended by a day. Despite a message from the property to say they would link the bookings, that had not occurred so there was some confusion at check in. Although apparently resolved our room key and internet access stopped working (twice). Also spa bookings made at the desk did not transfer to the spa. This might have been related to new staff after COVID. I had read from other reviews that the buffet was disappointing. It was. We only ate at the buffet the first night and then ate at the beach hut (burgers) or from the bar menu. Being a Hilton, one would expect the food offering to be much better than what the buffet was. It was really no better than you would get at a sporting club buffet. Really not up to Hilton standards. There have been enough review saying similar but the resort does not seem to have taken these suggestions onboard. Despite these 2 issues we did have a really lovely time and would definitely return. We would stay a week if the food improved.
The villas were lovely, safe instructions not very clear at all. Buffet evening meals were pretty poor, not much choice, no veg. Really let’s the place down. Billing on check out was completely wrong, Need to put more notices around the resort about snakes. Will come back oneday.
Amazing location but prisoner of an over priced buffet
Perfect
We stayed in the overwater apartments. These were spacious, clean and very well presented. We loved being able to snorkel straight from our stairs down to the water and enjoyed the company of a variety of tropical fish including juvenile emporer angel fish, lion fish, leopard fish, cod, and giant travelly. A short swim of 50m-100m brought you out to a series of coral bommies that had an abundance of sea life. It was a great way to relax and unwind.
Snorkeling, easy walk around the island. Not so much on the amenities, kayaks not operating, swim up bar not working, no simple convenience store on island for purchasing small comfort items
This place should NOT carry the Hilton name.
Super découverte et super moments a deux ! Cadre agréable et confortable ... ca me manque deja ! Personnel accueillant et chaleureux
Everything was unique about this property - from the moment you are welcomed on the small island all the way to the perfect service throughout the stay. The place was magnificent - the over the water bungalows were all recently updated and it was just like a dream - nothing can go wrong. You can expect to see many see creatures directly from your balcony including but not limited to turtles, reef sharks, corals and much more! We loved every second of it. Thank you team at the double tree!
