3rd visit to the Dorsett everything good for a restful stay
Lovely hotel with good amenities. Fabulous staff that could not be more helpful. Nice and clean, well kept property. Very convenient area for restaurants and shopping. Fantastic experience, thank you.
Great stay
Great stay. Really friendly welcome and porter helped me with bags when leaving. Room was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely book again when in London
Very convenient location. Interesting building.
Problems - but they sorted it
1st room - adapted. Nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom other than floor 2nd room - they moved us here knowing the heating wouldn't switch off, couldn't breathe. Brought us a cooler. Was hot and cold at same time 3rd room - they kindly moved us to a suite which was fabulous and gave us free breakfast one day So they solved the problems, just annoying to start with... build a counter in the big adapted bathroom!!
The hotel was lovely, as was the paid for breakfast, but the room itself was average. We were put in a special access room, where the toilet was incredibly uncomfortable, the shower was too small, ajd the room was too hot - even with the air conditioner on full blast. Overall the hotel was really nice, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, but the room let it down.
The lobby was great and had accessible restaurant. Staff are super amazing!
Staff are friendly but the rooms was terrible. Had to move us the last night and that’s when we got the better room.
Perfect for a gig at O2 SBE. Lovely rooms, great location and comfy beds.
Could have been amazing. Just room was freezing heating didn't work and ask extra heater which didn't do anything and the pillows awful. Which is a shame as such a nice hotel
It was overall fine. We booked a standard room and were given a standard accessible room, which was ok in itself. However it was right next to the lift, so our sleep was a bit disturbed by the sound of people and the lift being called late at night and early in the morning. The room window didn’t face outside, instead into a light well, which was opposite other rooms about 10ft away. So opening the curtains for any natural light wasn’t an option as you’d have people looking straight into your room. The lack of natural light made the room feel claustrophobic. Final con was, a basic kettle and teabags/coffee and sugar were provided, but nothing with which to stir them. Pros: not far from several tube stations, right next to O2 Empire Shepherd’s Bush if you’re attending something there as we were. Near Westfield shopping centre for restaurants and parking. Staff were friendly.
Not great, Abit disappointed, don't accept cash, cards only. Not a great vibe.
Lovely hotel in a good location to Central London and my destination (Royal Albert Hall). The gym was a bonus, the bar was clean and well presented and the breakfast I had was ample and well cooked.
conveniently located little gem!
Beautiful hotel very close to M4 and railway system. The rooms were beautiful, clean and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced for London. Staff were very professional, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again for our next London trip. Thank you.
World class service, could do with a gentle refurb
Service was world class. Heating and hot water wasn't working properly first night and I had noisy neighbour upstairs the first of two nights who turned his TV up to max volume until 3-4am, but when I told reception the next day, they offered to call heating engineer immediately (I said an extra duvet would be sufficient) and if I had noisy neighbour again, reception told me that they'd send a security guard to ask my neighbour to turn down the TV to a reasonable level. Very nice stay apart from that. Beautiful reception area and a base for Singapore Airlines staff so must be good! recommended by a friend who wasn't wrong. Choice of 2 restaurants and a bar. Has a gym but no pool or spa unfortunately. Would rate facilities 8.5/10 and service 10/10.
Average hotel, ok for a quick visit to London. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was OK but the very small bathroom definitely needed some TLC. The shower head stand was broken so it was difficult to have a shower. A lot of the TV channels weren't tuned in. Also I don't understand why some hotels have started adding a tip to the bill, why not just pay your staff a decent wage?
Wouldn’t stay here again in a hurry. Staff were nice enough, but upon double-checking my room type on checking in I was given the wrong room. They sorted this out quickly but the second room was smelly, a little dirty and certainly very dated. It’s certainly only an “executive suite“ in name and not by nature. I was also handed a VIP amenity for a drink at the bar upon check-in, only to be told the bar is closed and so I wouldn’t be able to use it.
Overall we had a great stay
We had a really good stay last weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. The lady on reception asked if we were there for an occasion of which we mentioned birthday, and we came back in the evening there some sweet treats waiting for us :) Hotel and our room was of a high standard, buffet breakfast had very good choices available, except no vegetarian sausages. Only fault we had was the 'soundproofing' wasn't very effective as we could hear talking and sirens throughout the night
Great stay
Great stay
Unfortunately there was no hot water in the morning which was disappointing and spoiled what would of been a great stay
Good location, we choose this place as it was close to a gig we went to see. At check in we were given a twin room even though the booking was specified for a double. Only to find out once I opened the door to the room. On the day of check out there was no hot water in the building.
There was not hot water on the Saturday night and Sunday morning before left. (Told it was an Outside problem?) The shower and bath water controls were not great on the Friday night. Only luke warm. On the plus side comfortable bed.
The Dorsett is conveniently located, which is why we chose it. The reception is beautiful. Our room was less elegant, a little worn and cramped but that can't be helped in central London. When we returned to our room after dinner, around 6pm, the corridor smelt strongly of weed. We went out later and returned at 10pm and the smell was overpowering. I complained to reception and we had to put a towel along the bottom of the door to try and block the stench. There was a notice in the room saying that smoke detectors would pick up the slightest hint of cigarette smoke or vape, so either this isn't true or they weren't working. The bathroom had a large frosted window that meant someone sitting on the bed could see a person in the shower or faintly on the toilet. I was uncomfortable with this, but it turned out not to be an issue because the hot water wasn't working. I spoke to reception when we went down for breakfast. They said there'd been a pipe burst and they didn't know when it would be fixed. We were only saying one night and checked out 90 minutes later, unable to have a proper wash. While I enjoyed pastries for breakfast, my partner was disappointed as his cooked breakfast was cold. I appreciate that the hotel can't account for antisocial clientele or plumbing emergencies, but I'm relieved that we were only staying one night and not more.
Bad night and not much sleeping
Noisy air conditioning and music coming from somewhere until late night didn't allow a good sleeping. I am a able bodied and they assign me a disable room. It would have not be problem if the room was designed properly but is not: the bathroom is big enough but definitely not designed from a disabilty expert as the normal bath won't work for a disable person or wheelchair user. At the same time the shower inside the bath is installed far too low for normal bodied and there's no shower curtains so you'll splash everywhere. The sink is super small and super low. It is definitely not ok either if you are an able bodied or wheelchair user. The bathrooms and room could have been cleaner. The room is big but they left a tiny space between the bed corner and bathroom corner so I doubt a wheelchair user could confortable manuvre in the desk space to reach the lights and tv remote.
Business trip
a two night business trip and staying at Dorsett Shepherds bush for the first time. Check was quick and the greeting was warm. The hotel was very close to Shepherds Bush Market tube, on the Hammersmith and Metropolitan line, and one stop Wood Lane to get the central line. About a 3 min walk and the hotel is there. The restaurant was good and clean and service was good. The menu was ok, a bit mixed with different options from curry to fish and chips to hot spicy wings. The bar area is good but possibly needs more draught beers to gain more clients, and wifi in the hotel was very good. Check was excellent today, and I will look to use this hotel on my next visit. Also next door is Chets Restaurant at the Hoxton, beautiful food service, very busy but well worth it. 1 minute walk from the hotel.
flies
Unfortunately it took 3 attempts to give us a suitable room. Once that was sorted the shower was great although it leaked and the bed was big and comfortable. Decor in the room was tired, breakfast was good and dinner and drinks very average (for what we expected). We do have high standards so don’t be put off, oh and and the staff were all pleasant to deal with.
All good, upgraded our room and treats for us in the room as it was my wife's birthday.
This is my second stay here as a weekend away in London. Can drive to westfield and park overnight and walk to the hotel. Good breakfast and quiet rooms and good size.
Very nice Reception staff and very comfortable room!
Would recommend
Great hotel. Good location
A very convenient location for commuting, shopping and recreation. Disappointed with quality of room provided - did not match my order, and took 4 days to get a room change, after two separate unfulfilled promises by members of staff. A big thank you to Victoria for her attentiveness, with a much welcome intevention when I visited reception for a third time. She arranged a change.
Missing the small detail..
Wish they off more of variety for breakfast...management please make sure you do a. monthly quality insurance check on your heating and cooling unit..
Great hotel in west London next to Westfield
Nice and clean hotel ideally located next to underground stations and Westfield shopping center. The new extension to take the breakfast is great and its buffet has a lot of choice. Staff is friendly and professional, only downside was the room temperature, too cold and we had to stop the air conditioning.
The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also loved the convenient location of the hotel.
Lovely building, helpful staff and a great location. Noisy rooms, doors slamming, bed wasn't very comfy. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.
Nice and quiet
Staff were extremely friendly, supportive and helpful especially Rona!
The Dorsett was the perfect place for us to stay. Close to lots of amenities.
Comfortable stay after a night at the theatre.
A pleasant, positive experience for a 3-night stay.
Room quite small shower gel empty but not a bad stay
Extremely friendly and supportive team
Excellent, friendly staff on reception made check in very easy. First room I was given had an unbearable smell of waste pipes in the bathroom so I was moved to another quickly and without question, which was appreciated. Room was spacious enough, clean and comfortable. Would use again for an overnight work trip.
A great location for business, shopping and commuting. Modern decor and pretty impressive, aesthetically.
Annoying Glass Panel
The big frosted glass panel between the bathroom and bedroom was very annoying at night if somebody used the bathroom and switched the very bright light on.
WARNING 5% "service charge" to check in.
Nice enough hotel however the owners / manager are clearly living on another planet. The A/C in the rooms will not cool below 23 degrees, no windows open so it's very hot and stuffy. This is no doubt to save costs in air conditioning. Then we get to the "Service Charge" of 5% added to your bill for ... wait ... Checking in !!! What a joke.
Had to complain due to the smell from the room especially the bathroom. The bed was pushed up to the window making the bed and sheets damp. The shower room had black mould forming on the seal and the shower itself was rusty. The room did not feel clean.
Disappointing stay
There were 2 things that spoilt the stay at the Dorsett - After being out we came back to the room to find a card in the Card switch in the room - According to reception house keeping may have checked the room - I find this very strange - Checking for What ? The other disappointment was breakfast, specifically the English cooked breakfast, the sausage was inedible, the fried eggs were like rubber, soggy hash browns, the best thing was the toast and I cooked that myself - The room was OK but based on this visit I certainly would look elsewhere.
For the money it’s a tired hotel
Stayed here a few times over the years and always found it to be a very nice hotel with very friendly staff and always used to be clean. Sadly it seems maintenance is done to a minimal standard and things are looking very very tired. Tiles broken all over the bathroom floor, silicone mouldy around the fittings, cabinets with silicone peeling off, stains all over the floors. Bathroom was horrendous in the first room and air con didn’t work. Moved to an accessible room which also had cracked tiles and dirty silicone but at least air con worked! I don’t expect a hotel to be pristine perfect all the time but when tiles are broken and the floor is moving you’d expect maintenance to be of a good standard at this price point. House keeping and general staff are very good, my only issue is with the maintenance that is clearly lacking.
Need to fix their TVs
I had to change rooms as the TV didn't work! The TV in room I was moved to only had a few channels which worked too.
Always stay here
They went above and beyond and fulfilled my request wishing for a high room for our anniversary. Surprised us with a bottle of prosecco and cake in addition to balloons and decor which made it super special.
Overall, I would not recommend it
The accommodation was as shown in the photographs and description, located in a quiet area at night, with good communication links. The only downside is there are some hidden fees which I guess te hotel should disclose in advance, for instance I paid £ 100.00 deposit for which I am still waiting a refund, and and additional £ 19.98 for service charge for which I asked clarification but the hotel management did not or refused to provide so far Overall, I would not recommend it as you can get same services for a cheaper price in London (I lived there 15 years so I can be pretty much objective on that)
Great location
Great hotel in a fab location. The beds were really comfortable and room facilities great. The bathroom had a really bad drain smell but as we were only there for one night did not really have time to report and resolve this issue. Our biggest gripe was misinformation- we were told at check in that breakfast start at 6.30am on Saturday. I questioned this as we needed the earliest start possible and I thought at weekends it was 7 but was assured it was 6.30. Got up, down at 6.30 for a quick breakfast to be told no it starts at 7! So unfortunately had to leave without breakfast.
A let down
Sadly not the best. We had to request a room swap within an hour of arriving due to a very smelly drain in the bathroom. To the staff’s credit this was actioned quickly without issue. However our next room had no TV remote, smelt (although not a bad) in the bathroom and the provided milk curdled. Enjoyed cocktails in the bar.
Hotel tres correct. Personnel agréable proche des3 stations de metro Par contre un enorme probleme de plomberie. Des odeurs egout dans les douches.
Convenient as nect foor to shepherd bush empire.
Very convenient as next door to shepherds bush empire.
There are so many hotels in London, you can pick a better one with the price. The room only had a small window to the side and a big wall painted in white, giving almost a prison like feel. It was also freezing cold, the ac wasn’t working. We asked for an additional heater but it was still cold to the point we couldn’t sleep and the staff was nice enough to give us extra duvet. But the worst was how dirty some of the appliances were, the hairdryer was effectively unusable with the amount of dust at the back, surely this is a fire hazard.
Great hotel in a nice area
Very friendly staff and great service. We even got a complimentary dessert delivered to our room :) The lobby and lounge area is top notch. The room was ok, a bit worn down but clean and nice. Very comfortable bed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Excellent spot for the empress
Check in was a smooth experience and the lovely Maria checked us in. My son went to a concert next door and later that night we had a little note saying hope you were enjoying your stay and enjoyed the concert and here’s a treat from us and we had a bar of chocolate really unexpected but such a nice touch.
Room had a bad smell of mould and toilet did not work. Moved rooms and staff came in at 6am. Customer care was good and apologetic but this should not be happening.
The safe box wasn't working, the guy in reception charged me £ 77 more than booked prices During check in, During the checkout the lady in reception trying to get the cash from me and refunding the money that they charged me with my Viza card during the chek in, Which i refused.
Location
Good location, responsive personnel but very badly maintained room : dirty floor and carpet, bad smell in bathroom, scratched furniture, poorly working air conditioning.
The staff very friendly. The hotel vety clean and quiet. Ideal location for us
Wonderful hote, staff are really helpful, rooms are spacious, very clean. I will certainly consider staying here again.
Relaxing after charity event
Fabulous stay .. lovely clean room and so comfortable
Nice hotel, however I stayed for 4 nights and for security reasons I had to unexpectedly pay £100 as a security deposit when I checked in. I stay all around the country in many different cities and areas and I have never had to do this. I don't think it is necessary
Thank you for a pleasant stay.
Excellent
Excellent hotel, always stay here… perfect
Great Hotel, Room on the Small Side
Room was quite tiny (on the 7th floor) but it was clean and comfortable, just a bit small. I have stayed at this hotel previously and been allocated a much larger room. Breakfast was good, they were very efficient at filling up the dishes on the buffet. Staff were polite and the hotel overall was clean and tidy.
excellent value for money
Langue
Top hôtel mais aucun personnel ne parle français
Careful of the tip charge at the end!
Cheeky trying to add 5% tip charge at the end of the trip but other than that- lovely hotel and fab stay
Poor service and old property, little to no amenities, would not stay again.
It was a nice property but the windows don’t open
Nice hotel in a nice location
Great hotel, very handy location. Amazingly helpful staff
A
Good breakfast
Good breakfast. Comfortable in room, very nice sheets. No view from window but did not matter in dark November evening.
Very comfortable
Amazing
The entire staff was incredible, friendly, and caring.
The location was great. However lobby’s esthetic doesn’t not match the rooms. Lobby looks very luxurious but as you enter the room, it looks like a dormitory. A lot of things needed to be fixed in the room. The quality of the room and the price I paid ( $700 2days) is wild.
I stay here all the time , so good
Air-con didn’t work Refrigerator can’t keep your items cool
Perfect for London trip.
A very comfortable 1-night stay, good bed, bathroom, decent-size room. Lovely foyer, bar and restaurant. What made the stay was the staff who were all friendly and efficient and made sure everything was as good as it could be for my visit. The hotel was perfect for a concert at the theatre close by. Special mention to Receptionist Maria who ensured my visit to both the hotel and the concert was extra special, thank you for the attention to details!
Extremely disappointed! We contacted the hotel ahead of booking to request a change to the date (due to unforeseen circumstances) we waited as per the policy for the manager to come back, but we’re never contact. In the meantime we’re charged for our stay. Will not be booking again for future visits.
Just book the Premier Inn if you want cheap
Rude staff on check in. Refused to provide early check in despite a room being available. Room was small, had no working heating or cooling or ventilation. Needed a deep clean.
We decide to drive to London parking overnight at Westfield, conveniently just five minutes walk from the hotel. Near to tube, restaurants and buses. Nice oriental inspired decoration. Room was warm and clean with comfy super king size bed. Have stayed a couple of times and will definitely return.
The cleanliness of the room attendants need attention. The hotel is central with easy access
Fantastic stay at the Dorsett Shepherds Bush we was upgraded to a beautiful suite on arrival. The hotel well was clean and well maintained. Staff were very attentive at the stunning bar and at breakfast where there was a great selection of lovely well cooked good quality food as well as fresh bread fruit and a great continental selection. Would stay here again as convenient for tube and shopping and easy to get cabs/busses/tube into heart London.
Victoria saves the day
Victoria the receptionist was excellent, great attention to detail and care, asset to the company
The building is fabulous - really impressive design features and a good location. But, the immense potential of this hotel is wasted on lots of small details which are both puzzling and unnecessary. For such a new hotel it is already showing signs of wear & tear. Stained carpets, cracked mirrors, chipped furniture etc. On the upside. the room was very quiet, spacious and comfortable. Check-in is ridiculous - there’s no drop-off point outside for taxis, so if you have a lot of luggage it’s inconvenient. No restaurant on-site and staff do not promote the fabulous Chinese restaurant next door (actually it’s part of the complex, seems like they have fallen out?!). Overall, lovely place but weird unexplained oddities.
Great Location & Friendly Staff
Great location. Westfield Mall, Olympia London, Shepherd’s Bush tube, & TV studios at White City are nearby. Bus 94, which is outside the front door, goes to Picadilly Circus, so it’s really convenient for getting around if you don’t like taking the tube. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The bedroom was very nice, although it did get a bit chilly.
Great stay overall
Great hotel, great location, great facilities, quiet rooms, fantastic welcome from Maria.
Standard room is ok for a night or two but definitely need a refurbishment. Upgrade subject to availability and a free beverage was supposed to have been a privilege for platinum membership on hotel. Com but neither was offered
Pro: Nice modern 4 star hotel with affordable prices. Con: the bass tone of the music in the lobby can be heard in the room. As it starts early at 6am and ends at 10pm it can be disturbing. Despite I recommend the hotel.
Dorsett Shepherds Bush | Hotel in London | Travala.com
We had a lovely stay at the dorsett hotel for a concert happening next door. The staff were all lovely especially the housekeepers. The shower was powerful and warm, the bed was comfy and the air systems made it easy to get warm/cold. Bag drop was easy and safe kept in a locked conference room. The only problem we had was on the last day one of the elevators have broken so took a little while to get down with all our luggage, this however is not the staffs fault and happens so hasn’t effected my rating.
