Domus Libera is a small boutique hotel. I really like this hotel because I can walk to Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Colosseum, and etc. The room is roomy, neat, and clean. Staff are nice and helpful for me in Rome as a backpacker by myself. The location is great and convenient because it’s close to restaurants, laundromat, and bus stops. There is a few minutes from Roma Termini by bus and train to Leonado da Vinci Airport or FCO.
Amazingly located, friendly and comfortable stay.
Fantastic small hotel located in a perfect location, walking distance of all the main sites. We checked in after 7pm which meant a remote check in, using a code sent to us, and this worked perfectly. They were lovely to us throughout our stay and catered to our needs. A special thankyou to the amazing staff, who not only provided us with a delicious takeaway breakfast upon departure (since we were checking out before breakfast-time), but who also emailed us their tiramisu recipe which was absolutely delicious. Highly highly recommend.
The biggest highlight of Domus is its people! The people who work there are nice and caring. We’ll definitely come back, but next time we will try to book the top floor, cause the roofs of the rooms are not exactly soundproof. But over all great experience!!
This hotel is a gem. The property, room and location cannot be beat. The breakfast is a daily highlight. But the best is the service. The hotel staff are kind, helpful and make you feel like family. For me, there is nowhere else to stay when in Rome.
Perfect location!
This was the perfect place to stay! I can’t say enough how perfect the location is! We were able to walk everywhere. The ruins and colosseum were just down the street. April and Ella were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was amazing! I’m going to miss the homemade yogurt and cakes. The room was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The bed was really comfortable and all the fixtures were high-end. The entrance is in a narrow street but our taxi was able to drive right up to the door. I really can’t recommend this place enough. I’d definitely stay here again!
Gem of a hotel in heart of Rome!
We spent two nights at Domus Libera this past week and had an amazing stay. I could have stayed for a month! First, the hotel is in an unsuspecting alley right behind one of the most traversed streets in Rome and very close to Piazza Venezia. Therefore, it is super convenient to all the major tourist sites, if you want to see them, such as the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. Second, we were upgraded to a superior room and it was wonderful. The room was so large with a king size bed, as well as a sofa bed. Everything about the room was warm, comfortable, and welcoming. Breakfast (amazing!) and coffee (Nespresso) in the room were provided. The staff was excellent as well. They were constantly in contact via Whatsapp and onsite from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily. We arrived after the staff left for the night, but we were able to check in on our own and had no issues. In addition, the staff were truly accommodating, taking care of my medicine that needed to be refrigerated and my ice pack which needed to stay frozen. They arranged for car service to/from the airport. We had no issues coming or going. I would absolutely stay here again. The cost of the room would have been worth it, either way, whether we had been upgraded or not, as the hospitality was exactly what we could have hoped for. April and Pauline were great hosts! Oh, I wanted to add that the rooms look just like the pics online. We loved the exposed wooden beams, warm temps, and luxurious bathroom!
Excellent location to explore all of Rome's attractions. Very helpful staff and nothing was too much trouble
A beautiful small hotel in the center of everything but on a quiet back street. The best beds and sweet staff make it even better.
Outstanding service! Clean and amazing location!!!! Will highly recommend!
Hotel was nice and clean. Staff was especially helpful and kind (Ella)! Would recommend!
Great room and location was perfect. Staff was very helpful from start to finish!
Domus Liberia is perfectly located in between Colosseum/Roman Forum area and Pantheon making it easy to walk to all the sites in historic Rome. The rooms are very clean, and spacious. The washroom is closer to a North American standard. The staff was very hospitable and provided great recommendations for restaurants, bars and how to best plan your day.
Loved my stay here. In a very convenient location. Lovely rooms and staff and very helpful!
Beautiful property. I'm not sure I received anything for my VIP but it was a beautiful property.
Staff at the Domus Libera Hotel provided exemplary service. Katherine went beyond and helped us with excellent shopping recommendations. Easy access with room key when the staff is not present after hours. Will stay again when visiting Rome next time.
Great property centrally located in Rome, was able to walk to everything but the Vatican. Staff is incredibly helpful, polite, and caring. They provided a list of recommendations for restaurants, bars and gelato in different neighborhoods so you’d have options when out and about. They also offered to book reservations or order taxis for transportation. The elevator is what they call “intimate” it fits 2 ppl max but gets the job done. No scenic views from the balcony room but all in all a great stay.
Air Conditioner did not work correctly during the entire length of stay. Cleaning lady left our windows open in 100 degree weather, refrigerator was broken water could not get cold. It made our stay very uncomfortable and nearly impossible to enjoy
Staff was amazing and friendly. Room was comfy and spacious.
Excellent staff. Breakfast was amazing
Really nice small hotel, great location, excelent service and price
The best place to stay in city center.
Beautiful boutique hotel, lovely spacious room. Airconditioning a little weak, a little noisy from the street below at night. Staff super friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.
The service was amazing very attentive !
Excellent location and friendly/helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again!
Excellent property, very nice, modern and comfortable.
Lovely stay
Very clean bright spacious room with a modern twist the staff were very helpful and friendly would recommend this hotel
So central and huge rooms so unusual for being right in the midst of things. Directly off the main shopping street and the Trevi Fountain just round the corner. Staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were great
Location was perfect. It is in Rome city center and walkable to all popular sites. The hotel was tucked into an alley. Streets in Rome are dirtier than expected and the alley smelled like sewage. Sadly, the sink and shower drains in our room would stink up our entire room of sewage and it was awful. The room was clean and housekeeping would clean everyday. Hotel was on a quiet alley so no distributions with sleeping. Other than sewage smell, which the hotel cannot control, the stay was perfect. Front desk was so helpful with arranging the car service and room service. Breakfast was also great.
Run away and do not stay here! False advertisement, Photos are misleading. Broken shower, mold in surrounding areas. Graffiti alongside of the building is, an unsafe area, the hotel is located in a narrow alleyway with no lighting.
Excellent hotel in the middle of the city, great communication, quiet despite the location.
The hotel is perfectly placed for sightseeing. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. (They provided us with a little breakfast in our room when we had a very early start!) We could not fault the quality of the rooms and we would definitely stay there again.
This is one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in while in Rome or Europe for the matter. The staff is super nice and breakfast was top notch. They have a mini bar in the room so if you want a drink and don’t feel like getting out, then it is there with the item prices in the room folder for every item(coca-cola too). Big room, big bed, fancy walk in shower, double sinks, ambient lighting are just a few things in the room. This is not a conventional hotel as they send you an access code to get in the door and your room, but do not let this keep you from staying here. We will book this room again on our next trip!
Loved this place small and in a great location to everything we wanted to do and staff was so helpful
It was so bad narrowly steps and entrance was so bad and narrow
We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel. Nice and quiet, quaint and great service. The breakfasts were phenomenal, as was the personnel.
Great location and the receptionist was very helpful. 10/10
Our stay was great! Everyone was very kind and helpful. The only negative part was we arrived almost a hour before the front desk was supposed to close, but no one was there. However, the service we had the next morning was excellent! Easy to walk to several great locations.
The staff was very nice and accommodating. They provided great tips and suggestions such as booking taxis well in advance to avoid not getting to the airport on time. The property in itself was also nice and the room large with all the amenities. It is a small boutique hotel in the city center close to all major sights. With that said, the hotel is not easily accessible as it is located on a dark, dirty alley.
Great small hotel and very nice service!
What an incredible experience we had at this adorable hotel. The staff were amazing to work with and made our trip to Rome so enjoyable. They treated us like family and helped us when we would get "lost" in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.
The entrance to the hotel was on a dark and dirty alley. I felt unsafe going to the hotel at night. When we were checking out the hostess told us the entrance to the Gucci warehouse was directly across from the hotel and it was always guarded. I wish I had known that from the beginning.
The property was a delightful mix of ancient Roman architecture and modern updated amenities within the hotel. Food was excellent and the service was first class
Highly recommended. Location is great if you like to walk to many of the major sites in the city center and is just a block away from major city bus routes. Rooms are clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet for such a central location.
It was a very nice hotel with a large room, comfortable bed and nice bedding and a great breakfast and cappuccino! What’s not to like. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
the space is artistic and modern, very cool. what makes this place extra special are the people working there. they are amazing and take the whole experience to the next level. would definitely stay here next time i’m in Rome
Overall property was good and staff was awesome especially at the reception lady was really informative and very helpful but only one thing which wasnt good was the location. Everything else was good
WONDERFUL HOTEL!
EVERYTHING I want in a hotel - comfy beds, yummy breakfast, close to everything and the staff is AMAZING!
A charming boutique hotel, located in an old historic building but with modern stylish rooms. The location is excellent, a walking distance from the major sights, and the staff is super friendly and helpful! Highly recommended.
First rate, first choice - Perfect
Amazing hotel! PERFECT LOCATION! Absolutely wonderful staff. Very friendly and supportive!
Such a cute hidden boutique hotel. We arrived much later than expected and there was no personnel on the property at that time, so receiving detailed check-in instructions (without even asking) was incredibly helpful. Check-in was very easy, the hotel and property were clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was great! However, if you’re driving there keep in mind that because the hotel is located on a side street, driving to it is nearly impossible and we ended up driving around a few times before realizing it was not accessible by car. Overall nice stay and would absolutely go back!
Lovely boutique hotel walking distance to all the sights. The room was large for rome, and the bed was the most comfortable we slept in throughout Italy. The staff was incredible, knowledgeable and friendly and the breakfast kn th3 morning was delicious, even eggs to order! Highly recommend and will be coming back for our next visit!
A +
Great place, centrally located. Staff very helpful.
I enjoyed my stay , the place is quaint in size.. location is central and walking distance to major sights..staff was very helpful..special mention to Rowena at receptions , she was very helpful and always very cheerful and pleasant always ready to help. Would definitely stay again.
Extraordinary customer service!!! This boutique hotel has everything you need.
The rooms had excellent amenities, the beds were comfortable and enjoyed the ambiance of the room.
The staff were fantastic and friendly, always ready to provide a recommendation when needed!
I second all of the positives mentioned in other reviews. Optimal location, friendly and informed staff, clean, etc. I feels more like a home than a hotel. We would definitely stay again. We also highly recommend using the private driver service from the airport that the hotel can arrange.
Who knew this gem would be down what looked like an alley. Great hotel. AHMAZING staff. AHhhhMAZING!!! The only issue was it was a bit on the noisy side at night. Make sure you have a clock/watch/phone nearby. Noise is not a sign that morning has arrived. Amazing location and again, the nicest, most helpful staff ever. Thank you, Speranza, Rowena, and the rest of the team. A tip for Italy overall is to ask questions about how long it takes to get somewhere and exactly where you need to go. Have them draw it on the map and know that a 5 minute walk is probably really 10. Love Italy!
Wonderful charming hotel located in the middle of the ancient Roma sights. Walking to Patheon, Trevi and Colleseum was very easy. The staff was very helpful and kindly answered my many many questions. We used the hotel to set up transportation to and from the airport and to Termini which was extremely helpful for first time travelers.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay. We slept so well and very much appreciated the staff's knowledge and recommendations with touring the city. Breakfast was delicious too. We'll definitely be recommending Domus Libera to anyone visiting Rome.
Great service. Great breakfast. Great location.
Good location
Nice but noisy!
The 6 unit hotel was very nice with modern updates and close to everything. The service on-site was great. The service from the booking manager for a problem we had was terrible. She would not let me talk and took no ownership and was rude. The only issue with the hotel was that it was noisy early early morning with construction next door and loading of trucks directly in front by business.. For those reasons I would not stay again or recommend.
Best Hotel in Rome
Cannot recommend this hotel enough. The rooms were renovated and the location was phenomenal— right in the heart of Rome. But what truly made this experience a memorable one was the exceptional service by the hotel staff. They were flexible, welcoming and extremely generous. A must-stay if in Rome!!
The room was beautiful, as was the balcony. Breakfast was delicious. Best of all, Luana was so incredibly helpful getting us to and from the hotel, with transfers, taxis, tickets to the Vatican Museums, luggage storage, etc. She was so kind and we were very thankful to have her!!
Staff was helpful and friendly. They helped us book tours and taxi. The breakfast around the corner was a nice touch. Location is very central and walking distance from most famous spots. They knew our flight time and even booked us a transfer. However, we were locked out of the B&B until they opened it some time later. The room needs an upgrade. One of the sinks was shut down and coffee machine was very old/didn’t really work. It was also not a Nespresso like advertised. The toilet seat was square and thin, which was very uncomfortable.
Clean, nice bathrooms, room had character. Good wifi. Would def stay again next time in the area. Self check in was simple. Staff was responsive via Expedia messaging.
Geeat location to walk everywhere. Staff was very helpful in organizing transportation for us and tour suggestions. Nice clean room on a quiet side street.
Amazing location, super friendly staff and incredibly clean and comfortable.
Staff are amazing, great location too. Excellent breakfast too
Domus Libera is a great choice for a stay in Rome. Located on a quiet street near Piazza Venezia, it’s within walking distance of the Colosseum and Forum, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and many restaurants. Speranza and Lorenzo were friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms were modern and well appointed. Breakfasts were amazing.
Esperanza, the concierge/receptionist, was wonderful! Great sense of humor and very very helpful with tips and guidance. Breakfast was lovely. Varied and tasty. Only 6 rooms, so personalized service. Be sure to close windows all the way and street noise is non-existent. Close to so many things. Just a perfect stay. Will stay there again when in Rome.
Beautiful rooms, great breakfast, and amazing staff! And the location was PERFECT!
amazing stay!!
This hotel was perfect!! Excellent location to walk to several must-see sights. Wonderful, delicious, breakfast every morning with something freshly homemade and delicious cappuccinos! Comfortable beds and large room/bathroom. The staff is incredible. Very friendly, helpful with recommendations for where to eat, and how to get where you’re going! If we come to Rome again, we would definitely stay here. If you’re thinking about staying here, just do it! You won’t be disappointed.
Great Stay in Rome
Wonderful stay in Rome. The Bed and Breakfast was right in the middle of everything and almost everything we wanted to see in Rome was within walking distance. While central, it was set back on a small couble stoned street which provided some privacy and and away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were very accommodating and gave great recommendations on dining and getting around. They even brought champagne to our room for my fiance's birthday. Our room had a balcony and we had breakfast every morning out there which was very nice. Would definitely return, thanks for a great trip!
Amazing location, fairly central to all attractions. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay again and definitely recommend. The price point was reasonable for all this place has to offer. Have my husband and I that Italy feeling with being a boutique bed & breakfast in the heart of Rome. Enjoy!
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate with all amenities. Ideally located for everything that we wanted to see.
Luana at the front desk was very polite and helpful. Modern, nice rooms. Great location.
My fiancé and I really struggled when it came to finding a hotel. But thank goodness for booking here!! I 100% recommend! To start the staff members were amazing. Luana and Lorenzo were so helpful. Every day we went to them for recommendations for lunch and dinner. Every single place recommended was perfect with amazing food and atmosphere. They also were extremely helpful with booking taxis and transportation. Honestly, they made the trip amazing and I cannot thank them enough. The next best thing about this hotel is location. It has a big land mark that always led up back home. It is also centrally located. We were able to walk everywhere, even home from the Vatican. It is also located in a safe area which was important for us. Finally, rooms were beautiful and clean. We were very comfortable. Breakfast was provided every morning. It was delicious! Clearly, I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It was perfect and if we make it back to Rome we will definitely be booking here again!
SUPERB!!
Superb location and service that’s out of this world! Definitely highly recommended for anyone who’s coming to Rome.
Great place to stay to see Rome
Fabulous service. We will stay here again. Close to all major landmarks too.
Great Hotel!
This hotel was great! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would totally recommend this hotel to everyone and if I get an opportunity to got to Rome again, would definitely look up availability again!
Great service and very helpful, knowledgable staff. Would highly recommend to a friend!
Amazing!
Quite the hidden gem!! Small little boutique hotel in the perfect location! Great service and rooms were amazing!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good location. Comfortable rooms.
The best place that we stayed during our stay in Italy. The room was stunning. Historic with modern updates. Lorenzo was so helpful with suggestions for exploring each day. And the breakfast is amazing!
This hotel is the BEST place to stay in Rome. Why? The location, for one is unbeatable. Everything you want to see is within walking distance. The rooms are super comfortable, clean, elegant and modern. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Particularly Lorenzo and Luana. They went out of their way to take care of us and make our stay the best it could be. The one negative about it, would be that if you have someone stay above you, you will definitely hear their footsteps. Other than that, this place is where I plan to stay next time I'm in Rome. I highly recommend the Superior Room for a little more space. I highly recommend Domus Libera. You will love it!
Excellent small hotel, with great breakfast, centrally located in Rome
Great boutique hotel
We loved the hotel! The staff was really nice, the room was great, best bed in all our stays in Europe! The hotel is located in downtown, walking distance to a lot of the places you need to go. The breakfast was really good. I definitely recommend this hotel!
Thin walls. No view. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean. Location was good.
Great location luxury B&B
The best location and room. Great staff the breakfast is nothing fancy but everything else is great!
Conveniently located on a small alley way street close to Piazza Venezia. It is less than a 30 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Colosseum. The superior bed and breakfast room is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom provided wash cloths and Hermès toiletries. The rainfall shower had great pressure. The queen sized bed was comfortable. The property offered complimentary umbrellas which held up fabulously with wind and heavy rain. The in-room mini bar came with cookies and water free of charge. Slippers also came with the room. The complimentary breakfast was reliably delicious for our 4 day stay. The cappuccino was the best I’ve ever had. Better than Illy and San’Eustachio coffee that the hotel concierge recommended. The €50 airport transfer was on time and got us to FCO Airport in 30 minutes for a 9 am flight. This was my first bed and breakfast experience. Every staff member was friendly and engaging. I will look to book here again for my next trip to Rome with no hesitation.
in the middle of city
Friendly staff , big clean room , city centre , could not have better
Breakfast on the terrace
We loved it so much that we booked it after we came back from Amalfi.
Fantastic location with true luxury!
We loved our stay at Domus Liberia this is our second stay and already our friends have booked based on our experience. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble (thank you Ria!) ,This is true luxury and the location is fantastic. Breakfast is terrific and a great start to the day. We highly recommend Domus Liberia
Lovely room and very helpful staff, hotel in a great location central to everything.
We LOVED this quaint, yet simultaneously upscale bed and breakfast. We cannot think of one single thing that we would have changed during our stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted with kindness. The check in process was easy and we were provided with a map of Rome and great recommendations. We mentioned we were vegetarian when asking for restaurant recommendations, and to our surprise, this was noted and shared with the entire staff When we went to breakfast the next morning, there were vegetarian options that they had prepared for us. We were amazed at how everyone was so eager and willing to accommodate our preferences. The breakfast was incredible day after day - the fresh squeezed juices and hearty bread with cheese were among our favorites. We felt very spoiled. This was a great way to start the day without having to spend additional money! On days we wanted to be a bit lazy, we had a beautiful breakfast tray sent to our room. The room was clean and decorated beautifully, with an elegant minimalism in mind. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever experienced in a hotel room - this made breakfast in bed especially enticing! The location of the hotel was also very central for easy walking to every site. The lovely staff was kind and accommodating and made us feel truly welcomed and appreciated. We usually like to try out different hotels when we return to cities, but we agreed without any hesitation, that when we return to Rome, we will be staying here again!
Nestled on a quiet cobblestone street in the heart of Roma stands the Domvs Libera Hotel. When you arrive at this enchanting boutique hotel you enter through the original wooden door which is beautifully painted green and accented by golden regal hardware. Upon entering, you are formally greeted by the most welcoming and hospitable staff. They kindly took the time to provide me a detailed map of the city and circled all the top attractions I needed to explore during my stay. I was “WOWed” the moment I entered my room. The room was larger than expected including a king size bed, desk/seating area, closet/ dressing area and a bathroom that’s quite impressive! The ceilings made of old wooden beams are accented by trace ceiling lighting that illuminates the room. The sheets and towels are freshly pressed and beautifully monogrammed with the hotel emblem and name (Did I mention the bed is SUPER comfy). Roman artwork hangs above the bed with pendent lighting on either side of the bed. The bathroom has a unique walk in shower with an amazing waterfall shower head. The sink has the most interesting faucet I’ve ever seen. It reminded me of a fountain as the water flowed out. The final and most impressive touch of elegance were Hermès toiletries. The owner (who I met and spoke with a couple times during my stay) opened this establishment 3 years ago and it’s clear she thought out every detail to ensure each guest is comfortable, feels royal and special during their stay. I know I did!

The staff and accommodations were PERFECT! We would stay there again
