This resort is a very special place. It has as its backdrop the singularly gorgeous Elounda Bay but in addition, it has a remarkable group of staff members who make every moment at this property feel custom. We stayed at a “Luxury Residence” with a private pool, which was nothing short of amazing. It allows privacy to regroup/recharge/and enjoy precious family time. The food at each of the three dining experiences we enjoyed was absolutely stellar! We rarely choose to eat on property at resorts, often finding the food subpar and choosing instead to explore the area. After trying one on property restaurant, (Blend), it was so delicious that we then tried (Makris), which was just as impressive resulting in a third on property experience at an authentic Cretan Bbq at Core. WONDERFUL! I highly recommend a stay at this property. It is just over an hour from Heraklion airport, but it is well worth the travel!
Generally good, but lacking in areas
Facilities very good, location requires some getting used to as sited on a hillside and buggies are needed to move aroúnd the hotel grounds. Service is the Achilles heel - understaffed in certain areas (eg Main Bar, Beach area) means long delays and cause of frustration.
Awesome.
Wonderful stay in this fabulous hotel / resort. Plenty of options for dining and swimming, new]ver felt too crowded and the staff were charming and efficient. Highly recommended.
Beautiful property, hospitable staff. Very kid friendly with LOTS for the kids to do.
Amazing experience! The service was above expectations in every espect! I must specifically mention Petros in favor. The room was excellent with a gorgeous sea view, cleanliness at a high level, the food was good, there were many hotel facilities such as a spa, private beach, restaurants, pools for children and adults only. If you want a relaxing vacation, this is the place.
Perfect stay
We arrived at night but received a room upgrade from garden view to sea view which was very nice, however the room did smell like it was previously smoked in. It seems as though we were on the older side of the resort that was renovated. There is a newer side of the resort as well (on the other side). The property is huge with lots of amenities (shops, restaurants, food trucks, tennis, games room, amphitheatre, bars). Nearby there are 3 places I would recommend. 15 min walk to the east side of the island to a small town, 45 min walk to the west side - town of Elounda or a taxi ride to Agios Nicolaus where there are many shops and restaurants. All very beautiful and very fun to discover (especially at night). One thing I had been curious about was what was included in food that I didn’t see online if you have food included in your stay - it’s either a nightly buffet for each person included or if you decide to skip the buffet and go to one of their restaurants it is a 20 euro credit per person for the restaurant - very worth it even if you go one time to their buffet Overall food was very good. One downside was the about of kids at the resort - we didn’t realize but apparently they advertise this hotel to families so every time we were at the buffet, there would be kids screaming on either side of us. As much as they have adult zones, either they are full or kids end up being there anyways. This was a bit of a let down for the beautiful atmosphere that they had.
Stunning location & lovely staff who very kindly moved us to a large villa. Our luggage took 4 days to arrive courtesy of Lufthansa and the hotel staff were super helpful in supporting us. Thank you & we will definitely return Kind regards!
Absolutely incredible hotel! A real treat with the most stunning views across the water to Spinalonga. The private beach is beautiful and the whole property is just fantastic, as are the staff who could not do any more to help or make your stay perfect. The breakfast is also one of the best we’ve had! The village of Plaka isn’t a long walk and has nice restaurants whilst Elounda is 10min in a taxi. The onsite restaurants are fantastic, especially Topos 1910. Our apartment was also perfect and the interior design of the hotel is beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
An all round pleasant experience. Would come back.
The hotel and the property are very modern and sleek. We loved it. The staff was excellent and helpful.
Lovely property, staff great. Could do with some more veggie options on menu for evening meals, resort on a hill so be prepared to walk or get golf buggy’s, which were great fun!
We had a great time with very friendly staff
Booked a half board midweek couple retreat, we were very pleased. Walking around the complex is not easy due to a steep climb but you can call for a ride. The spa and main pools are great and have lockers and excellent showers. The beach has amazing trees for shade instead of umbrellas. Paddle boat was fun. Our room pool was very big and fun. The dinner buffet was superb, breakfast buffet was very good, and other dining options were also pleasing (you get some credit in them if you order half board). The core had a good DJ but no takers as the crowd is mostly older couples, also be prepared to walk after dinner as the queues for the rides were long. The room design was nice but there were a lot of missed opportunities. Sea view is mostly an overstatement but it's still pleasing (the Blue Palace next door has true sea views). Marriott app for self check in or door unlock didn't work (it did in the blue palace), the room phone was not working and some restaurants had an issue with amex but these are minor issues and overall this is a solid 5*.
Close proximity to beach and water sports.
Visiting from America
We stayed at Domes of Elounda for 4 nights/5 days. We used the family pool, kids club and had dinner at all of their restaurants. The service was excellent. Every staff member we came into contact with was professional, pleasant and consistent. It was the perfect all inclusive resort and we only left to do a little shopping. I highly recommend this resort.
Lovely relaxing resort
My family and I loved our stay. The kids had a great time. Staff were amazing and so welcoming. Pool is lovely but it would have been nice for the resort to have a more kid friendly pool area. With a plot so big something a little more exciting and engaging for the kids would be wonderful. In any case we had a wonderful time and made some wonderful memories
Great place!
Amazing hotel with great views and facilities. The staff members are very helpful and friendly as well.
Great hotel
Great hotel - superb service
Top of my list for Crete
Great family hotel with superior rooms / private pools and top service
Staff is polite and very helpful, the property has a certain charm and it’s beach is quite cozy. Breakfast however is not up to par with the standing of such a hotel so this was a bit of a disappointment. The food offering needs to be upped by a notch, perhaps the long closure due to Covid had something to do with this
Short Stay at Domes of Elounda
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay at Domes of Elounda, the room was wonderful and had great views. The food was excellent at all the different restaurants we tried and the service was on point. Highly recommend a stay here. The area around Elounda is also great with some lovely beaches and restaurants to sample
Good hotel / average hotel. Incredible staff!
Amazing service and really nice people. The facilities and hotel room condition are not worth what we paid for... Private swimming pools very small and not always overlooking the sea and Spinalonga. The rooms design is not as per the photos, that must be the recently refurbished ones, although it wasn’t bad in general.
Amazing hotel, beach is fantastic. Heated pool for kids, restaurants very good. Views are amazing
Wonderful October break
Fabulous hotel and absolutely impeccable customer service. Our children loved the kids club, the beach the pool and the buffet!!! Very child friendly but also space to give adults a break with kids club and babysitting which allowed us to visit the adults only pool and spa, and to have some “date nights”. All came home happy and rested.
Gorgeous rooms and views; stellar service
My stay at Domes of Elounda was amazing. The view from my suite was sweeping, the room and amenities were perfect and the service was stellar. The jetted tub in the bathroom was also a nice touch. If I could go back to this property every year, I would.
Excellent hotel, spacious rooms, amazing view (all the rooms have an open view to the sea). Staffis very kind and efficient. Defenetely recommend.
Superb customer service throughout the whole place. The staff could not have been better. The facilities were also great but the staff set it apart
Absolutely fantastic place. Beautiful setting and stunning views. The beach area was serene and the pool that belonged to our suite was fantastic - bug enough for a daily swim. Location was great. 10 minute walk to local fishing village Plaka. Lots of lovely authentic local Greek and seafood restaurants and a few lovely little shops. Elounda was the other way (5 mins in a cab). Harbour-side dinner was really special. Lots of nice shops and many restaurants to choose from. Agios Nikolas is a bigger harbour-side town a 20 mins cab drive away. Worth a look one afternoon/evening.
Some good, some bad
Pros: Good service, well-kept property Cons: Private hot tub broke down twice! Property is designed so units have minimal privacy. Steep and uneven pathways make walking to units difficult (have to wait for buggy if you don't want to walk up to your unit). Hardly any beach and what exists is completely covered with loungers, so little space for kids to play.
The staff was exceptional. Helped us with multiple arrangements & answered questions. Location was beautiful & hotel very well maintained.
Professional and caring staff. They go to the limits to make you feel at home. The never say no. It was a joy staying at this place. We will definitely come back to this lovely place!
AMAZING, will be returning to Domes
Luxury in an amazing setting
We had just come from Domes Noruz in Chania and found it hard to believe that the service and comfort could be replicated in Elounda. We were delighted to find that it was. The staff were amazing, the hotel was spectacular and our room was outstanding. We received a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this hotel for a special treat.
Excellent hotel, lovely pools, good staff, nice beach
Domes of elounda stay with family!
The staff could not be more welcoming throughout the whole stay, making our week there with a 10 month old as easy as possible! The beach is perfect for small children, as is the pool. The food was incredible. Would highly recommend.
Luxury, fantastic staff, relaxing, peaceful
We stayed for 7days. Check in was personal with a welcome drink, whilst checking in our luggage was taken to our suite. It was lovely that throughout our stay staff remembered our names. The suites are built hills however you could always get the golf buggies around the resort if you are not able to climb. Our suite was lovely with a hot tube outside and a spa both inside (with a shower above). If you are a less mobile I can imagine getting into shower would be challenging. Whilst we booked a garden view suite our view was taken up in a large part by a wall 3-4 metres away, we could make out the sea so not all bad. Towels were changed as often as we requested and there was a turn down service. We were half board. We were able to eat in the buffet or the three other restaurants. We also went to the fish bbq which is a good experience. The food was very good whether breakfast or a dinner. Choice at lunch time if you fancied a snack we found to be limited. Location 10-15min walk to Plaka where you can get a drink, meal, little shopping or boat to Spinalonga. 1.5 miles walk to Elounda is pleasant, with pavement for around 75% of the way. We were told the hotel was full, it did not seem busy, very peaceful Whilst the hotel has a beach it’s not the best(typical for the area) but there are nice loungers, umbrellas and gardens. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff are fantastic, it is one of the nicest “sunny” holiday resorts we have been to.
Beautifully situated resort
Room was very spacious and had a private pool, although it was cold in April. Resort has beautiful grounds and the pools and view of Spinalonga are great. Breakfast has a wide selection. Car valet process is confusiong and can take a while to be taken to your car.
Lovely resort set on a hillside
A lovely resort set on a hillside in between Elounda and Plaka. Everything is lovely and the team go out of their way to make your stay special. I found the room and facilities to be good value, although the in resort dining, which we only opted for on one night, was a bit stuffy (needed a reservation but the place was empty) and overpriced (€6 for 750ml of water, and the default is a really expensive one). There is a good mix for families and couples and plenty to do. Saltwater pool was awesome!
Amazing holiday
Great stay, amazing staff, they were incredibly attentive and helpful. The food was incredible, even the buffet was great with themed nights throughout the week. Would recommend for families, perhaps not couples. Beautiful views from the hotel, a very picturesque setting.
Couples Retreat
Me and my partner have never been to Crete but are stay in Domes of Elounda was a wonderful one. Staff really frendly and happy to help and they really go out there way if there is something you need they make sure you get it.. Tours if you want any they book for you,The food is not bad either,They have Italian restaurant a Asian restaurant and a buffet,There is something for everyone and we are thinking of going back with the children next year.. So if you ever go to Crete this hotel should definitely me on you list.*****
4-star experience
Child-friendly, good food and very friendly service. Somewhat amateur management, but setting beautiful and onw quicly overlooks this. Restaurants close early (10ish) and pool water quite chilly. Will probably return despite these points.
Relaxing Stay
A relaxing stay next to the beach. For us the highlight was the beach with its lovely olive trees and nice restaurant right on the beach.
Fantastic hotel!
We had a wonderful stay with our 1 year old daughter. The staff were amazing and we didn't want to leave!
Great hotel and very friendly staff
We cant fault this hotel it was amazing from start to finish and Crete is a beautiful island. The facilities were top class and it was really clean. They went out of their way to help us with our son. Very helpful staff, food was great. The heated outdoor pool wasn't heated at all but other than that it was a great experience. They said the hotel was fully booked but yet it felt empty - no rush at pools or for dining. It was very relaxed.
Village feel resort with wonderful views
Great and relaxing holiday. Perfectly sized suite for a family of 4. Staff super friendly. Clear beautiful beach.
Quiet location with unspoilt surroundings.
Crystal clear waters. Peaceful setting. Attentive staff. Spacious accommodation. Only things that were a bit disappointing was the bathroom - black and a big step for getting into it which was not so easy for accessing with little ones or elderly and kids club could have been better with its activities for children 5+. Overall we were super impressed with service, attentive staff and the fact we had what felt like our own apartment.
perfect vaction
wonderful stay at a relaxing hotel
Nice hotel a lot of stairs
Nice hotel. A few glitches with room but it was taken care of. A lot of hills and resort is very spread out. Golf carts are great to take you around but almost all rooms have from 4-5 to many more steps to get to. Not suggested if you have difficulty with stairs or hills. Only elevator is from reception to adult pool and spa. Staff was very nice.
Excellent resort geared up nicely for families of all ages. Went in early April and lucked out with weather - not too hot. The pools are cold this time of year though but this is catered for with one of the children's pool heated. Family of 4 with 4 year old and 18 month toddler.
Luxury resort overlooking Spinalonga
Very enjoyable stay - top service, loved the jacuzzi on the deck, superb views over the islands. Transfers around the resort in the club cart was a welcome addition too.
Beach hotel on water's edge overlooking Spinalonga
Fantastic location with excellent service throughout. We loved the private beach and beach bar in particular. Some may find the resort rather hilly but we liked the exercise, there are however golf buggies to shuttle you back to your suite or villa if necessary. The rooms were very spacious and clean with large balconies and hot tubs. We could not fault the resort and got a great deal through Hotels.com!
Excellent family resort
Spent 4 nights at this lovely resort, very family friendly. Caters to couples and families separately with separate pools which was good. Room and view was spectacular and the private pool in the balcony was the highlight. Barbecue night at a restaurant on the beach was thoroughly enjoyable, with kids and adults joining in the performance. Sea was good, beach was very pebbly and not much of a beach either. But once you got into the water it was lovely. Beach was lined with trees so enough shade for those seeking a hideout from the strong sun. Couple of drawbacks - overall quality of food was just OK. Room service did not replenish stocks well. Buggy service was not as efficient as we would have liked.
Fantastic hotel, with it own private beach
Excellent staff that are very attentive, ensuring that you have a great stay. The hotel has it's own private beach that is superb. There are two sections with a quiet zone. The whole atmosphere is relaxing and the views are excellent. Would deffinately recommend.
Slightly over rated
The view from the hotel is stunning! We had a room with the tub which was very comfortable. The communal areas lack atmosphiere, the prce of the food and drink is far too high which results in many of the guests venture to the near by town! The staff at the water sports are very friendly and helpful. I reecomend the water ski instructor. On the whole we enjoyed it and we will come back knowing how to 'work' the system better.
Not a 5 star hotel
Nice hotel but not 5 star resort . The food is not great. The room are not more then 4 star .
first class hotel
one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. it has a superb location with wonderful views
Dream stay
Superb, wonderfull location, sweeping views of Spinalonga island, quality customer service, friendly and attentive staff from the manager who goes out of us way ti make the stay exceptional down to the waiters who remember your prefered drinks. I took my wife here for part of our honeymoon and we both remember our stay with great excitement. There were quite a few families with young children when we went but the privacy of the rooms coupled with large hotel spaces still gave us an exclusive feel. A car is a plus if on a b&b basis so that Plaka, and Agios can be readily explored and the great restaurants taken advantage of.
Disapponting service
After researching this hotel very carefully online, we were looking forward to a luxurious stay in Crete. Whilst the hotel lives up to expectations in appearance, unfortunately the staff service and attitudes were far from desirable. We visited the hotel in mid-May 2012, a time when I believe "new" staff start their roles for the tourist season. Nevertheless, you would expect more from a 5* hotel: we arrived late - around 10pm - and were told by 2 different staff we could eat at the bar or the hotel restaurant, only to find the bar does not serve food and the restaurant in pitch darkness. No apology or alternative was offered. Requests for information from the reception staff were ignored or not acted upon. No apologies were made. Whilst these complaints may sound trivial, they unfortunately did tarnish the stay and I would not recommend a stay here for this reason - if you are paying well, you expect a good standard of service from the hotel. Note that the hotel is quite secluded and also very far from the airport/port and very expensive to get to by taxi (70 euros.) I recommend you hire a car as you will need one to get anywhere from the hotel.
Domes of Elounda - perfect for relaxation
Although this hotel is set on a hilly site the 'buggy' system works very well and makes it easily accessible for everyone - from those with small children to those with walking difficulties. The small beach is perfect for relaxing - on a bay where the sea is calm with lots of trees for shade. The Domes is situated near both Elounda & Plaka - the staff are very polite and friendly - overall perfect for a short relaxing holiday.
Nice, but overpriced
We enjoyed our stay at Domes, but felt that it was a bit overpriced. There are various revies on a number of websites that seem fairly divided and, having stayed at the hotel, can see why the reviews split in this way since there are both positive and negative things about the hotel. Good points: - - the premium suites are spacious; - good, friendly service from ths staff; - excellent views of spinalonga; - for those that want to venture a bit further afield, there's a bus stop outside the hotel, with a service that runs to Elounda and Agios Nikolaos - Plaka is about 20 minutes walk. Points that could be improved: - - the food isn't brilliant. There's a good selection of food at breakfast, but the sandwiches available at the beach bar weren't up to very much, and the food at the 1910 restaurant on the beach was very expensive. Better quality food can be found in nearby Plaka; - having to pay extra money for anything more than basic tv channels is a bit excessive - most hotels at this end of the market would provide satellite tv as standard, but not here; - the beds aren't particularly comfortable; I'd go back to Crete, but probably wouldn't stay at this hotel - I'd be tempted to try either Elounda Mare or Elounda Beach, both of which charge comparable rates for rooms.
Domes of Elonda
Luxury hotel with lots of service. Breakfast buffet THE BEST I EVER SAW. Pool -- not enough lounge chairs - beach site was not great.
Domes of Elounda
This hotel is absolutely breathtaking. I have never seen a more impressive view from the hotel lobby bar, I was actually brought to tears. The service and amenities are second to none. I would highly recommend the Domes to anyone looking for a tranquil escape in Elounda, Crete. The surrounding towns are alsi an excellent way to experience the island's people and culture. Thank you Domes! My husband and I were so impressed and had a fabulous time!
Relaxing yet lacking
First and foremost, the scenery at the resort is absolutely breathtaking. I had a very impressive view from my room and loved waking up with a picture perfect view every morning. The room was nice but not 5 star quality. Savas, the hotel manager, was excellent at addressing every issue that I had. Do not hesitate to address any problems that you may experience to the hotel staff, they make every effort to correct the problem immediately. I was one of few English speaking guests at the resort. The satellite TV does not have many English speaking channels. If your primary language is English and you have plans on watching TV, bring DVD's and ask for a DVD player. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment since the jetted tub did not work properly and seemed to have gone unused for a great while which resulted in stagnant water and other issues. The rooms and balconies are not as large as they appear in the pictures. This is a family resort, so expect tons of kids and lots of noise during peak hours. The on-site dining provided a wide arrangement of food choices.Overall, I would recommend the facility as long as you keep your expectations at a minimum.
A Mothercare vacay
I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Tips for travelers: 1. The suites are MUCH closer together than they appear in pictures. 2. Outdoor Jacuzzi rooms are not all upstairs. 3. If you have an upstairs neighbor, hope that they are extremely quiet - it sounds like they are in your room. 4. If you don't like screaming children running around everywhere, go somewhere else. 5. People of color, this may not be the best place for you - just sayin'. 6. When they say the privacy is "not absolute", believe them. 7. Feeding time is a free-for-all at peak times. Here the children figure in prominently. Off-peak will be more bearable. 8. The Hotel Manager, Savas, is extremely friendly, very helpful, and an all-around nice guy. Buddy up to him. It may not do you that much good, but will make you feel a lot better if you're as disappointed with the quality of the place as I was. For the most part, and excepting a couple of grossly outrageous experiences, the staff were as helpful as they could be, given the confines of the average product they're charged with defending. The views are lovely from a few rooms, not great from most others. Certain rooms are probably quiet. Many are loud - from screaming children, upstairs neighbors, or the noise of golf carts perpetually dragging people up and down the hills to their rooms. I got a rather disconcerting case of athlete's foot my first day, presumably from the tub. Give that due consideration should you choose to sit in it jacuzzi-style.
Lovely Hotel But Service Doesn't Match Prices
Rooms, grounds and facilities are excellent. We only ate in the a la carte restaurants where food was very good if very expensive. Staff (Eastern European mostly not Greek) very willing and friendly but they are no where near delivering the level of service the price merits. We had two problems with our room - jacuzzi randomly switching itself on and being impossible to stop and an airconditioner pouring water down wall. Neither trivial but both times we had to report problem twice before there was any attempt to fix it. Bags of rubbish were left outside near our room for 24 hours with numerous staff passing by but clearly not seeing it at as "their job" to deal with. Restaurant service although willing didn't match 30 € a dish standards e.g. waitress asks if I have finished a course and when I say no she stands over me and waits for me to do so, pouring half a bottle of white wine into the glass at one go, second courses arriving before plates from first course cleared etc. Breakfast (prepaid) was a problem. Room service not an option because they wanted to charge €20 on top of the food cost to deliver it to the room! Breakfast room (wall to ceiling glass windows) was very hot and only 2 or 3 tables outside. As I couldn't bear heat we had to wait for an outside table and hotel manager told us in response to a query about whether we could eat the food we had paid for in cooler bar area that this " wasn't allowed" and that the "restaurant would be hotter in August!".
Fantastic Honeymoon!
Incredible experience -- they treat you extremely well. Make sure you tell them its for a honeymoon!
well worth it!
beautiful place with very attentive staff. I highly recommend staying here and travelling in off peak season as it was truly relaxing and the setting is stunning. You can happily while away a few days without even leaving the complex! We ate in the pool side reatsurant and were very pleased as the food was delicious, but a little overpriced - however this is a luxury resort! My partner had a massage in the spa and said it was incredible - hoorah! We will definately go back.
Superb location and great staff. We really enjoyed our visit
Great staff and service. We had an issue with our room and the teams went the extra mile to fix it. It is a resort that gladly welcomes kids

Very nice hotel and view. Good food.
