A beautiful property with great staff! I felt immediately welcomed! Everything was clean and if we had an issues they were solved immediately. I loved everything. I would like some more late night food options other than room service maybe having one of the restaurants open later.

Situated in a quiet part of Elounda, the hotel offers stunning views across the bay. We had a very relaxing stay. Here’s the pros and cons. Pro’s: 1. A small but pleasant shingle beach. Comfortable padded sun beds readily available. Very few guests reserve sunbeds, which is a nice stress-free experience. 2. There is a nice little bar on the beach, open from around 10/10:15am, serving coffee, cocktails and various alcoholic and non alcoholic options. There is also a large chiller cabinet where you can grab water, beer and soft drinks as often as you like. 3. There are grab and go lunch boxes available on the beach from 12 noon - salads and sandwiches. 4. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. 5. Rooms are clean and cool. 6. The bar in the amphitheatre area is a lovely place to have sundowners. Try the Hugo cocktail! Cons: 1. The swimming pool area is tired and the sunbeds were a bit dirty. There is paint peeling off the swimming pool floor. The pool is painted a very dark colour, making it very uninviting. 2. The dining options are not great. Breakfast is fine, with plenty of options. The buffet dinner, however, is not of a good enough standard for the resort. The Ampitheatre offered some nice Italian options, but the Greek souvlaki options were really disappointing (you can book this restaurant twice per week), and the Sushi was good at the Yellow Sea restaurant - but no starters were offered, and dessert was just one option.

Very nice hotel with courteous staff

We had a good time. I would recommend getting the ‘cool living’ package as it is on par with a 5* hotel, but if you don’t have that package I think it would feel closer to a 4*. The beach was really good!

Exceeded all expectations. Staff are top notch. Food and events well planned.

It was great overall. Good food, a nice beach, nice views, comfy rooms, and good drinks. The only things that could would improve it would be not playing music at the beach all the time because the sound of the sea is nice. Other than that no complaints. Lots of stuff to do around there and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful.

Relax and unwind

Great stay - staff were lovely and amazing. Food was really good and service first class. We were not briefed that well at check in (we had a Suite) so would have liked to use the pool at the top of the resort which looks amazing. The one by reception is tired. Sadly the water in our private pool was v cold but overall we will return but would want to stay near the top of the resort. It’s high - very high but has spectacular views.

Great long weekend get away at end of April

We went for a 5 day get away at the end of April. The weather was great and the hotel was perfect. The adults only nature of the hotel ensured that we didn't have to put up with kids running around, the food was excellent for all three meals. Only 20 minute walk from Elounda town allowed us to also go to eat/shop there. Car rental service directly from the hotel was efficient. The staff very friendly and helpful. The Wednesday night show of traditional Greek music and dance was lively. The private pool on the balcony was perfect for a dip after a hot day. Great service of the receptions, managers and concierge during and after the trip. Staff spoke at least 3 languages without problem. Only potential negative is the distance from Heriaklion if you need to go there (and some of the sites around), however do not hesitate to rent a car for one or two days if necessary!

Nice hotel for a relaxing vacation

My wife and I went there for our honeymoon. The hotel is well kept and clean. The room is basic with no frills but comfortable. The housekeeping staff kept the room very clean mopping everyday. The room we got had a shared pool with the room next door. It was nice to have but we rarely used iy and only got sun in the morning so not sure if it is worth it to spend the extra money unless you come earlier in the season and its warmer. I would recomend asking for a room that is higher up on the hill if you are physically able to do the hike. The hill is pretty steep but the view is amazing. The main pool was where we were most of the time. They have a pool bar and there is always food around. Toward the end of their season in oct they do an all inclusive with includes all food and alchohol and drinks. It really made this trip affordable for us. The food was fantastic it is buffet style and they have lots of options amd it changes everyday. The beach was also very nice. Had its own bar there as well and they provided chairs and umbrellas. The hotel is within walking distance of elunda which is a great place to grab a bite. I recommend rudi's a pub that great basic bar food and has some great drinks and patrons. We made friends with a lot of folks there. You can also take a boat to spinalinga in elunda as well. Plaka has great shopping. The highed praise of this hotel is the staff. They are warm and friendly and really made our stay special. We will definitely be back.

Amazing relaxing holiday

My wife and I choose this hotel for our 5th anniversary and we can't be more happy with our choice! The hotel is the best if you want a relaxing vacation with no noisy kids/teenagers around. The staff is simply amazing! Friendly, professional and always ready to help they made or vacation special. We will definitely go back again next year!

Great hotel!

No kids or noisy teenagers, so very relaxing! Food excellent, I especially liked the Tuesdays which were Cretan themed buffet and music, NIce entertainment, a bit for every taste (I did not like the Dancers, found them a bit cheap and tacky but some seemed to like them!) All staff extremely friendly although it was almost end of the season and they have had a long season! I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Modern. comfortable, quiet but NB steep terrain.

A good option for those looking for a quieter location some 2.5km from the Elounda strip. Not suitable for those with mobility issues due to the steep terrain. Best to go for half board. The self-service buffet works well and the food is a bit better than the average taverna. The out-of-season all inclusive package is good value.

Good Location

The food at the Elounda Blue Bay Hotel was very good. The rooms could do with an update,the floors in the rooms need tiling,they are just painted concrete,and the decor is a bit tired. I would not grade the hotel 4 star,more 3 star,but for the price we paid,we were very pleased. The hotel is not suitable for anyone with immobility,as the rooms are on a VERY steep hill.

Extremely friendly hotel

We have stayed at the Elounda Blue Bay three times over the last six years. It is always a pleasure to return there. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is good and plentiful. Rooms though a little tired are very clean and comfortable, with plenty of clean towels. The views are out of this world, what more could you ask for?

Après avoir séjourné plusieurs jours, voici nos observations. Il y a un système pour la réservation des restaurants, cependant, pour un simple restaurant « italien » nous avons eu de la place la veille de notre départ. Impossible de réserver d’autres restaurants car toujours « complet ». A la plage, sur 6 jours, aucuns jours sans devoir attendre des heures pour avoir une place sur les transats. Les gens laissent leurs linges de plage, partent toute la journée et reviennent en fin de journée. Nous avons fait la remarque à plusieurs reprises au personnel, mais rien ne change. Concernant les soins, massages et autres. Des l’arrivé, nous avons voulu réservé. Malheureusement, pas de place avant le dimanche alors que nous rentrions le samedi. Soit 1 semaine d’attente. Voici nos observations.

Perfekt!

Super saubere Unterkunft ! Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Wir hatten die Cool Living Selection (in der Suite automatisch mit enthalten) gebucht. Das Essen in den Restaurants ist absolute Spitzenklasse, das Buffet zum Frühstück und Mittag im Greco Levante ist ebenfalls absolut top! Insgesamt können wir das Hotel wirklich weiterempfehlen. Das einzige Manko war, dass beim Greco Levante (ausschließlich für Cool Living Gäste) eventuell erweitert werden sollte, damit dort mehr Liegen hin können. Diese waren immer recht schnell besetzt. Und leider reservieren einige Leute die liegen morgens direkt um 8 und kommen dann erst teilweise um 11-16 Uhr wieder. Hier wäre eventuell eine Regelung angebracht, dass wenn man mehr als 1 oder 1,5 Stunden nicht auf der Liege ist, man die Handtücher der Gäste entfernen darf, um sich dort selbst hinzulegen. Aktuell werden, soweit ich weiß, noch 18 weitere Suiten oben gebaut, spätestens dann werden Sonnenliegen am Greco Levante wohl Mangelware sein.

Un séjour magnifique dans un cadre idyllique: tout était fait pour que nous passions des vacances de rêves. L’ensemble du personnel: de l’accueil au restaurant en passant par les navettes comme les femmes de chambre… vraiment tout le monde est aux petits soins et toujours avec le sourire. Merci pour cette semaine que nous avons savouré. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter!

Het personeel was zo lief en behulpzaam, niks was te veel gevraagd. Nog nooit zijn we in een hotel geweest waar het personeel zo fijn was. Ze deden er alles aan zodat jij lekker relaxt was en je nergens zorgen over hoefde te maken. Het hotel heeft een prachtig uitzicht en het hotel zelf was ook super mooi. Het eten was heerlijk en iedere dag anders.

Var på en veldig avslappende kjæreste-tur. Utrolig deilig at det ikke fantes noe særlig spor av charter-turisme. Koselig nærområde for løpetur og fint hotell :) Kjempefin utsikt fra rommene!

Bon hotel

Personnel attentionné et dévoué. Très bon buffet le soir. Extra relativement bon marché. Salle de bain très petite. Ça grimpe fort entre la plage et l'hôtel. Vue magnifique depuis les chambres et la terrasse du restaurant.

Très bel hôtel à Elounda

Super hôtel, bien placé entre Elounda et Plaka. Chambre très agréable, propre avec tous le confort nécessaire (Lit 160, bouilloire, TV, Frigo...). La salle de bains est un peu petite mais bien agencée avec douche à l'italienne. Le service est très bon et les employés très souriants. Les repas sont magnifiques : buffets très bien achalandés et très frais... Enfin, bref, un hôtel à recommander chaudement !!

Hervorragende Lage, aber renovierungsbedürftig!

Das Hotel is sehr in die Jahre gekommen und die Bilder, die auf der Website gezeigt werden, spiegeln ca. 20% der verfügbaren Zimmer wieder, also leider nicht die Realität. Die Zimmer sind definitiv renovierungsbedürftig! Das Personal ist aber unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam, das Buffet sehr abwechslungsreich und lecker, die Lage ist hervorragend.

Fantastisk design och utsökt mat

Mycket bra och bättre än förväntat. Vi bodde i en nybyggd del och hade en privat terass lika stor som rummet med egen pool utan insyn . Det går inte att göra mycket bättre. Utsikten var fenomenal. Rummet var fräscht och det bjöds på färsk frukt och vatten. Jag bokade ett rum med havsutsikt, jag hade aldrig förväntat mig detta rum som var nybyggt och med egen pool. Restaurangen var utöver det vanliga. Duktiga kockar som tog oss på en resa genom grekiska matkulturen under en vecka. Det var inget som fattades. Jag brukar inte äta middagar på hotell men då den ingick i priset valde vi att testa. Vi gick bara dit sen hela veckan. Mycket bra lagad mat och fint upplägg. Plus för barnfritt hotell. Service mycket bra

Albergo ben strutturato e organizzato, sul mare.

Mi sono trovato bene in generale, camere ampie e molto confortevoli, silenziose e dotate di tutto. Piscina panoramica con molti ombrelloni e sedie a sdraio. Mare accanto all'hotel dotato di tutto, compreso bar e sicurezza. Colazione abbondantissima e ottima, cena buona ma un po' standard e ripetitiva, poco pesce. Personale gentilissimo e servizievole in ogni settore. Buone anche le proposte per l'intrattenimento serale, musicale e vario. Se il prossimo anno torno da quelle parti sceglierò senz'altro questo hotel, Elounda Blu.

Ein schöner Urlaub in einer tollen Gegend Kretas

Lage: Wir haben unsere Inselrundreise in Elounda gestartet und müssen sagen, dass die Ecke der Insel wirklich sehr zu empfehlen ist. Hotel: Wir hatten großes Glück bei der Zimmerzuweisung. Das Elounda Blu hat 3 Tage vor unserer Ankunft einen Neubau des Hotels eröffnet und wir haben als erster ein Zimmer bezogen. Wir hatten eigentlich nur Zimmer mit Gartenblick gebucht, aber ein Zimmer mit Meerblick, Private Pool, top-moderner und stylischer Ausstattung bekommen. Wir waren natürlich total begeistert und haben die ersten 3 Tage nur an unserem eigenen Pool verbracht. Leider ist der Rest des Hotels schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wir haben uns auch ein wenig dem wirklich zuvorkommenden, freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Personal unterhalten, die uns das von sich aus bestätigt haben und uns verraten haben - es wird weiter renoviert und umgebaut. Fazit: Hotel ist auf alle Fälle zu empfehlen - viell. bei der Buchung ein neues Zimmer mit Private Pool buchen!

Hotel calme, superbe vue

Experience relaxante. Riches buffets en tout inclus. Bonne nourriture vairiée avec beaucoup de legumes. Petite plage privé, protegée par la peninsule de Spinalonga, ideale pour nager. Hotel situé sur le flanc d'une colline en très forte pente donc les mollets sont mis à l'epreuve.

Ottimo hotel per chi cerca relax e comodità

Hotel perfetto per coppie, tranquillo ma dotato di tutti i comfort, tra cui una bellissima piscina che si affaccia sulla baia di Elounda, e una spiaggetta privata. Bellissima vista dalla camera e ottima anche la cucina. E' consigliabile però avere l'auto perché così è possibile andare a visitare i dintorni e le spiagge di questa parte di Creta #bellissima la spiaggia di Voulisma a Istro#.

Un très joli cadre. Une plage privée avec de la place. Un personnel très attentif et chaleureux. Une qualité des plats servis très haut de gamme. Petit déjeuner exceptionnel. Et surtout... le petit plus, la piscine privée accessible directement depuis le balcon. Avec vue sur la mer et l'ile de Spinaloga : Exceptionnel !

HOTEL A CASSER ET RECONSTRUIRE

Cet hôtel réservé aux adultes nous pensions qu'il serait très calme. A l'arrivée, chambre très petite, vieille, SDB où la porte bute contre les WC, meubles du siècle dernier. Pas de bouilloire pour café, thé, pas de station Ipod comme prévu, wifi ne fonctionnant pas, chambre d'à peine 20 m² au lieu de 28 m². Nous avions demandé une chambre très calme et nous nous sommes retrouvés au-dessus de la route qui accède à la réception. Ils ont été très réactifs et nous ont changé 2 fois de chambre et nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une junior suite. Ce n'est pas ce que vous pouvez imaginer : très grand mais très très vieux, tout à refaire (le flexible de la SDB n'est pas assez long pour s'accrocher, il manque des rideaux aux fenêtres, ceux existants tombent par terre quand vous les ouvrez, portes de placards tellement fatiguées qu'on peut à peine les ouvrir...etc....). Le petit-déjeuner ressemble à une cantine : bruit infernal avec une clim du siècle dernier qui fonctionne très mal, jus d'orange infecte, en poudre...on a mangé du pain grillé pendant 3 jours...2 terrasses mais sans parasols donc impossible de s'y installer tellement c'est intenable et personnel un peu débordé par les évènements. Nous avions le repas du soir de compris mais n'y sommes jamais allés préférant manger sur le port d'Elounda !!!!! Nous avons été très déçus par cet hôtel malgré la gentillesse et la réactivité du personne de réception. L'hôtel est à refaire.
